Fala Chen @ Channel[V]'s CMA Awards steals limelight of Asian female stars

Saturday, April 14, 2012 Posted by Admin 0 comments
Yesterday Channel [V] hosted The 16th CMA Awards at the Costai Strip CotaiArena in Macau. There were nearly 100 Asian stars from Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan and Korea that were invited to attend, a very star-studded event. Before the ceremony, the stars first walked the red carpet led by popular Mainland actress Yang Mi, followed by Asian Pop King Jay Chou. Other guests included Eason Chan, Sean Lau, Fala Chen, Michael Tse, Jaycee Chan, Twins and many more.

However, among the group of female stars, TVB FaDan Fala Chen stole the limelight as she walked the red carpet with Michael Tse in her sexy low-cut deep V black evening dress. Fala explained the dress was sponsored to her by Armani and was delivered from Italty. The brand already notified her in advance that the dress would be on the sexier side, but she was willing to give it a try. Fala smiled: "Just dressed prettier for the award ceremony. Because I couldn't wear my bra, so I spent half an hour putting on tape and such. (Does your boyfriend like you looking that sexy?) So pretty, why would he? (More extreme than the TVB Anniversary?) We're not there yet, we don't know yet!"

Michael and Fala were presented with the 'Best Television Actor and Actress Award (HK/Taiwan)' respectively. Twins won the 'Best Group Award (HK/Taiwan)'.

Ruco Chan to 'pump' up the chest for the wild side of him

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Aimee Chan, Ruco Chan, Selena Li and Raymond Wong attended the costume fitting for TVB new series (Love Exceeds Coastline 情越海岸缐). Ruco was said to be at an advantage because he plays a pulmonologist doctor. Will he have to help Selena do CPR in the series? He laughed: "A doctor is professional, both men and women have to do it." Will you have a 'wild' side of you? Ruco said: "Why not? I have to do some training at home too. I'm currently 'pumping' up the chest, already have a 4-pack. Also there are a lot water activity scenes, so I must keep fit!"

It was rumored that Aimee and Moses Chan are getting married at the end of the year? Aimee denied once again and said it's not time yet. She laughed and said to take it slowly. When asked if Moses is rushed? She smiled: "Not as rushed as you all. (You and Moses were spotted shopping for everyday supplies?) No! I was just going to buy a dress, not everyday supplies. We aren't cohabiting. At this stage, we do not have plans for marriage yet. We're not there yet. For the future, I hope you all just focus on my performance instead. (Earlier it was said Li Zhongxi and Tsui Wing were pursing you in Hengdian?) They took great care of me. That's not fair to them because my Mandarin isn't good, so I'm very grateful to have them accompany me."

Edwin Siu 'banished' to Mainland, starts from scratch in HK at age 31

Posted by Admin 0 comments
In the recent series Daddy Good Deeds, 35 year old Edwin Siu plays the lovesick Malaysian-Chinese "Yip Kwai" (Ah Yap), which has been well-received by audience. Even his co-star Linda Chung praised that he's just too cute. However, Edwin won't feel too proud or have too much pride. It's just in reality, he has been in the industry for 10 years, but has experienced a lot more than artists in the same year as him. When he debuted, he was very popular, but due to just one comment, he was banished to Mainland for 4 years. That feeling is just as if he was thrown down from a 100 story building, very disturbing. Today, he rather enjoy the reality of starting all over.

In 2002, Edwin entered the industry through a singing contest. Back then, his rivals were Juno Mak and Shawn Yue. At one point, he was called 'Prince Siu' in an interview and was extremely popular. When the high-spirited Edwin won the newcomer award, his one comment "Evil Cannot Win Good" took away everything he had. (Which was thought to imply that he's ridiculing Juno Mak, at the time it was rumored Juno had his wealthy father to rely on. He offended Juno's father and was shut out by in the music scene) Later, he was forced to go to Mainland and was finally able to return to HK 4 years later. He joined TVB and started all over, as a newcomer.

Edwin frankly said he was forced to go to Mainland back then. The feeling was similar to being banished. He lost everything in one night. "At the time when I found out, I really was scared. It felt like I fell from the 101th floor of a building. Although before I went to Mainland, I already had a lot of negative news, like an arrow striking my heart, I started falling from the top floor, but that was still in HK. When I had to leave HK, it was like I rapidly fell from the 70th or 80th floor down to the ground. It was truly hard to bear. At he time, I really thought of switching professions, but I was reluctant."

During the 4 year struggle in Mainland, Edwin still felt reluctant and told his mother that he wants to start over in Hong Kong. "When I got back, my mom said she really wanted to see me on TV. She asked me if I could come back and do it, that time I was already 31 years old, it's my last chance. After all, I decided to come back and was prepared to start again as a newcomer. I won't get the lead actor roles, but at least its better than before. I got popular too fast, nothing was concrete, but now I am slowly feeling that its really true, I hope my development gets better and better!"

'Sergeant Tabloid' political satire on Henry Tang

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Niki Chow and Michael Tse's TVB warehoused series Sergeant Tabloid have recently been 'stolen' and uploaded on Mainland streaming sites and Youtube, the first five episodes are free to watch by anyone, anytime. TVB pledged to track down the mole. The series haven't even broadcast and there are already so many gossips. It turns out that the series even touches on political satire. In the series, Geoffrey Wong plays an immoral dishonest businessman "Lin Ying Tong", who resembles HK political candidate Henry Tang (Tong Ying Lin). Geoffrey's character loves to enjoy red wine, gets involved in an affair and loses his high level position just like Henry Tang.

In the series, Geoffrey's role as "Lin Ying Tong" is preparing to participate in the Asia-Pacific Trade President election, but tabloid reporter Michael Tse used red wine to find out the inside story of the illegal exchange between Geoffrey and his affair/boss Kayi Cheung.

To further 'play' with Tong Tong (Henry Tang), one scene was about Michael threatening Geoffrey with his nude photos in exchange for an exclusive interview. In the photo, Geoffrey was seen completely nude with him holding onto a stuff animal cat to cover up his private part.

Deep Ng denies lifting girl's skirt on street, Jacqueline Chong: People can change

Friday, April 13, 2012 Posted by Admin 0 comments
The other night, Deep Ng was recording for JSG and was asked about the media spotting him misbehaving with a girl on the streets. He exposed that girl is Hazel, and is a friend he been seeing for 2 months. Deep said: "We are currently developing. When I previously made my other two relationships public, it was pressuring. Wait until we are stable first." As for misbehaving with Hazel? He said: "The report was written so disgustingly, I didn't touch her chest or lift her skirt. That day it was windy, so I was helping her keep her skirt down. Honestly, it's not like I don't have a home, there is no need for me to do such thing on the streets." He hopes the incident won't affect Hazel, his work or his company. If so, he owes all an apology.

Also, Deep's ex-girlfriend Jacqueline Chong attended a film premiere and expressed she's not too sure of Deep's news, but said: "If know each other well, then arms around waist is nothing excessive, but lifting skirt shouldn't be done. Normal men and women wouldn't do such thing. (He was very savage in the past too?) He didn't treat me like that before, but people can change."

Mavis Pan experienced earthquake in Thailand, Raymond Lam expresses concern

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Raymond Lam and Bosco Wong were invited as guest performers for known TVB music producer Tang Chi Wai's concert in May. Yesterday they were rehearsing for the concert. Last year, Raymond was troubled by the exposure of bed photos with Mainland actress Mavis Pan. While Mavis was shooting in Thailand for web series 貓人女王, they were affected by the strong earthquake in Indonesia and had to be like refuges on the run due to the tsunami warning. Regarding this, Raymond expressed his concern: "I know there was an 8.9 magnitude earthquake there, the crew should be fine." Tang Chi Wai, standing besides Raymond, expressed the tsunami warning was cancelled already, Raymond continued: "Then everything's ok!" However, when asked if he sent a SMS to Mavis? He said: "We don't keep in touch."

Aside from Raymond, Bosco, Ron Ng and Alfred Hui being the key figures in Tang's concert, Kevin Cheng, Susanna Kwan, Mag Lam, FAMA, HotCha, Stephanie Cheng, Cilla Kung and Benedict Chong (Deal) will also be participating as guest performers. As for Tang himself, he has not decided if he will perform a song or not. Bosco laughed: "If he's willing to sing, we will immediately be his dancers. At most, we'll just sing together." Raymond looks forward to seeing Tang's most true side and said in advance that he will expose things about Tang. When speaking of CTI's Ricky Wong continuing poaching artists, Raymond believed this is a good thing for artists: "We will all cherish the artists, the resources and the value of artists will be higher."

Linda Wong & Miriam Yeung to treat Kevin Cheng: Not An Apology Meal

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Kevin Cheng is currently shooting Mainland drama Red Dust 滾滾紅塵 in Shanghai, but took time off to promote for his new TVB series Gloves Come Off back in Hong Kong with the other cast including Raymond Wong, Nancy Wu, and Natalie Tong. When speaking of his past relationship with Linda Wong becoming a hot topic again due to the film Love In A Puff, Kevin expressed it's considered a small matter and got Miriam Yeung, director Pang Ho Cheung and Linda Wong to agree to treat him a meal. However, he stresses that it's not an apology meal.

When speaking of the popular film Love In A Puff, raising the topic of his past relationship with Linda? Kevin said: "No embarrassment, I already clarified. Miriam and Director Pang have already agreed to treat me a meal, but it's not an apology meal. This is actually not a big deal, Linda also said she'll treat me a meal, so I get to have several meals." He believes that each person will have their past, and the past will always be in his memories. The memories will follow him until he dies and he's very happy to have such memories.

Linda's father Jimmy Wang said he's good for nothing? Kevin said: "I already responded before. Every father would be concern of their daughter's future. Perhaps when I have a daughter in the future, I would be just as concern. Each individual has different set of standards for 'future prospects', just as long as in my family and mother's eyes I am not good for nothing, then that is good enough for me." It was rumored he has earned over 30 million in the first half of the year from shooting series in Mainland? Kevin laughed and said he's still working hard, but he's truly satisfied with his current situation.

Yesterday at the promotion, the artists gathered together to practice boxing, and looked like pros while doing it. Raymond said he's not worried that Kevin might be too busy working in Mainland and can't be at the future promotions of Gloves Come Off, he expressed whoever has time will go do it, they will all try their best to accommodate.

Nancy's ex-boyfriend Deep Ng and a female partner were spotted kissing and being intimate on the streets. Nancy did not comment nor does she know about the report. Deep admitted he is currently pursuing that girl, Nancy laughed and said it's a good thing.

Reality show 'Bride Wannabes' a popular hit, TVB follows up with a Male version

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Five "Sing Lui" (Ladies Left Behind) makes up TVB's reality show Bride Wannabes, about ladies finding true love. It has only been 3 days since its premiere and has already become a hot topic in HK. The ratings peaked at 26 points with about 1.67 million viewers. On myTV, the number of views even surpass the TVB prime time series. It was understood that TVB intends to shoot a male version "Sing Lam" (Men Left Behind) after completing the 10 episodes of Bride Wannabes. The group of single FaDans have hope for this show as well, even Samantha Ko wants to take the opportunity to snag a 'suen poon' (good deal). She shouted: "Are there any good guys to be introduced to me?"

The Monday broadcast of reality show Brides Wannabe had a 10 month long production. Former TVB GM Stephen Chan 'borrowed' the Tuesday Report editor (Sam Ying) from the news department to be the director of this show. Only four episodes have been aired, and the show has already become a hot topic, especially episode three where 39 year old Florence didn't like the university lecturer.

Christine Ng is also watching the show, and praises that it's good. She said: "This isn't an entertainment variety show, it is a show that the news department spent 10 months to do, and has bee quite successful." When speaking of the contestants being severely criticized? She said: "The show has all Hong Kong women. Some people online say they are so pretty, but are still 'pork chops'. Don't talk about others, when you aren't any better. This is a show that took 10 months to produce, a very good show to watch."

Christine had always loved guys, when asked about a male version of the show? She said: "I actually think the girl version is better, so that's why the first season is about the girls first. We'll see!" Christine had always loved watching Mr. Hong Kong, she said: "It's just necessary for work, no choice."

Also, Nancy Wu came back to HK from Mainland and also heard about this show from friends, so she will check it out herself online. When asked if she wants to watch the male version? She said: "To some extent, it is just a reflection of society's phenomenon. Why are there more women then men, but there are still 'Sing Lam'? We shouldn't just be attacking. (Would you want a handsome guy?) I would use a positive angle to see it, listen to what he has to say."

As a single 'Sing Lui', Joyce Tang is also looking forward to see the male version of the show. She said: "If it's interesting then that's ok and can help me find someone. However, I believe girls can't find a partner because they are shy, so I wonder if its the same for guys?"

Lau Ching Wan treats Hong Kong Film Award like a party

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Show business model couple Lau Ching Wan and Amy Kwok Oi Ming last night attended a fashion label flagship store opening in Taiwan.

On Sunday (the 15th) the 31st Hong Kong Film Award will take place. Nominated with LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE (DUET MING GUM) and OVERHEARD 2 (SIT TING FUNG WON 2) for Best actor, Ching Wan was not nervous at all and did not think much about this as he has done all he could. His wife Kwok Oi Ming said, "He has both won and lost!" Which opponent did Ching Wan feel is the strongest? He said, "Every opponent is very outstanding, but I haven't seen A SIMPLE LIFE (TOH JEH). I only saw LET THE BULLETS FLY. Now the Hong Kong Film Award is very different from before, it's like a big party, a lot of joy and a lot of fun! (With two nominations, which one do you want to win?) I don't dare to think about it. (Are you afraid of crossing the director?) No, one is the left hand, the other is the right hand, it's hard to choose! (Are you worried about the vote split?) I have heard someone say that. I am already very happy with two nominations, like I won the lottery but was afraid of all the money!"

Speaking of So Hung Shuen's Best Supporting Actress chances with LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE, Ching Wan said, "She truly is very outstanding, but I haven't seen the other films so I don't dare to comment. Actually both So Hung Shuen and Lo Hoi Pang are very outstanding!"

Bowie Lam & Jessica Hsuan interested to join CTI, ready at anytime

Thursday, April 12, 2012 Posted by Admin 0 comments
CTI's Chairman Ricky Wong has been taking innovative approaches to set off a television crisis since he applied for the free-to-air license. Yesterday, CTI successfully launched their telecommunications business for nearly HK$5 billion, focusing primarily on developing their multimedia business, including free-to-air television broadcasting. Today, Ricky has plenty of 'silver bullets' in his possession and continues to entice artists to switch over to his company. Even TVB second and third line Siu Sangs like Savio Tsang gets a high salary reaching up to HK$50,000 per episode when he joins CTI. CTI is also recruiting over 700 production staff and artists.

Yesterday when Jessica Hsuan accepted an interview, she directly admitted that she is very interested in CTI: "Last year, I talked to Ricky Wong already, now that there are more funding, it is a good thing. If he does want to discuss with me again, I am very interested, but as an artist, I cannot just look at the money, I also hope they can invest more into their productions." Steven Ma also admitted that he did get in touch with Ricky Wong last year, but neither side had talked about the pay. When asked if there are heavyweight 'silver bullets', will he join? He laughed and said that the pay is not the most important: "It's still about sincerity. I have to work in Hengdian later this month, even if TVB approaches me, they will have to wait I finish this series first."

Bowie Lam expressed as long as there is a good script, there is a chance for collaboration any time: "This is a good thing, have enough ammunition, which means there is more resources to make a grand production." Bowie also stressed that money is not as important: "Most important is the script and the production. Since he has enough resources, I rather get less, and put the money into the production." Kevin Cheng wasn't able to respond before deadline to publish this article.

TVB long contracted artists Moses Chan, Bosco Wong and Myolie Wu all expressed that it is a good thing that there are 'hundred flowers blooming' in the TV industry. Moses responded through SMS, expressing that he hopes for healthy competition, in order to boost the quality in the entire TV industry. Bosco strongly supported TVB's grand productions, such as Triumph in the Skies II. TVB Director for Foreign Affairs (Tsang Sing Ming) expressed TVB welcomes competition: "We are constantly putting more resources to strengthen our productions, and that is because we are competing with ourselves."

Evergreen Mak & Nancy Wu - Evil Makes A Breakthrough

Posted by Admin 0 comments
When Evergreen Mak meets Nancy Wu --- one became popular for his despicable role as Fei Fan Gor (No Regrets), while the other was acknowledged for her evil concubine roles. Unexpectedly these two were able to create heartwarming love sparks. In the current airing TVB series Daddy Good Deeds, Evergreen and Nancy play a loving couple. Asking in a harsh way: "Is this considered evil stands out and can finally be good people?" The two said together: "We will do whatever role TVB gives us. We never got to choose."

In fact, Evergreen has been with TVB for 25 years already, and Nancy is already stepping into her 10th year into her acting career. This is the their first time having scenes opposite of each other, as they play a loving married couple that struggles with their own careers, but are mutually supportive. To Evergreen, a caring husband is nothing too difficult for him, he's familiar with it. In reality, he is a father of two - one boy, one girl. Not only does he look after his own parents, he also does not neglect his in-laws. "The happiest is the series finale. It is also something I could do in reality, that is the whole family under one roof. We all have our own personal space and can often have dinner together."

Works Part-Time To Pay Off Debt

If Evergreen was the director, he should be able to turn his own story into a movie. He moved to Hong Kong from Shunde (in Guangdong) when he was 12. In 1987, he participated in TVB's first 'Super New Star Contest' and entered the industry from there. He has once experienced one year where he had no income at all, and only relied on overdrafts and credit cards to live. He worked part-time as a salesman at a shopping mall and paid off his debts in that way. When his acting career was still going nowhere, his mother and brother were diagnosed with cancer at that same time. His brother died at the age of 26, but Evergreen was fortunate to have the opportunity to continue being filial to his mother.

Although he had an especially tough journey, it has nothing to do with him choosing acting as his career. "Honestly, I often feel discouraged. I don't earn much being in this industry, and really can't raise a family. I can continue working in sales at a shopping mall, which clearly is more stable than acting. However, my wife knows that if I didn't choose this path, I wouldn't be as happy as I am today. Her support for me is very important."

Evergreen was in the industry for 23 years before he encountered the 'Fei Fan Gor' role in No Regrets. It is the first time he won TVB's Best Supporting Actor Award, and finally he reaches to popularity. "In fact, I have never changed my acting style, was Fei Fan Gor especially good? No, it is because luck hasn't come yet. I am not that type of lucky actor that can wait for scripts. I don't have the opportunity to wait, wait for a good role to be given to me. This is my life, I am just doing my best on each and every role I get."

Half Evil, Half Good

Nancy Wu is the 2008 'Most Improved Actress Award' winner. Since she entered the industry, her acting career was considered pretty stabled, no fears or dangers. We all agree that she's a good actress, but in 2010 and 2011, she made it on the nominations for 'Best Supporting Actress', but left empty-handed. "In the last few years, the more I think about it, the more I feel that each individual's luck is different. Sometimes it feels like everyone acknowledges you, but you don't get the awards. In fact, it is not necessary to put heavy thoughts on these gain or losses. Getting the award does not mean you are the best and no awards does not mean you are the worst."

Well-known for her villain roles, Nancy said she never got to choose her roles: "All along, I only got to choose whether to do it or not. But to me, that does not matter either, I don't separate good roles and villain roles, it's just there are differences in the roles. I won't categorize roles, it's just because viewers see the effect that they start categorizing good and villain roles."

Don't Let Past Success Hinder Future Success

Evergreen has also started viewing things more openly, he frankly said that no matter how successful 'Fei Fan Gor' was, it is all last year. "I remember several years ago, Ng Mang Tat told me, don't let previous achievements become today's prejudice and hinder future achievements. Thinking all day about the past will just hinder you from improving. Whether or not I can produce another 'Fei Fan Gor', that is my goal." He used Bobby Au-Yeung's words, that he used during his emotional acceptance speech back when he won the Best Actor award: "There are some things in this world, that Heaven have left for you. Just as long as you do your own part, Heaven will definitely reward you."

Adrian Chau's bed photos with girlfriend leaked online

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Adrian Chau entered the industry through TVB's The Voice and has been heavily promoted by the company since then. 22 year old Adrian, nicknamed 'Dai Ma' (Older Twin), was recently rumored to have sparked love with Sire Ma behind his lengmo girlfriend Coco Yuen's back while shooting for new series Silver Spoons, Sterling Sparkles. It was also said Sire invited Dai Ma to her place. Although his actual girlfriend was exposed, Dai Ma didn't admit that she's his girlfriend, in order to avoid the relationship affecting his career. Yesterday, Dai Ma's intimate bed photos were leaked online!

There were a total of 7 photos in the set, which clearly revealed Dai Ma's youthful looks and his young girlfriend on the bed taking intimate photos. There was another photo where Dai Ma was seen on the bed sleeping only with his underwear on. The most intense photo was Dai Ma and his girlfriend revealing their naked shoulders on bed. Dai Ma was seen embracing the girlfriend 'from behind and over'.

A Three Timer

According to an insider, who knows Dai Ma for many years, disclosed that the girl in the photo was Dai Ma's middle school classmate and that Dai Ma had always been the King of Pursuing Girls. "Dai Ma is very attentive towards girls. He's always calling and texting girls, always on standby, and he's a sweet talker. He really knows how to capture hearts, so whenever he meets a girl, he would be able to get her in less than a week. Dai Ma only has two kinds of taste in the girls he pursues, one is wealth and the other is beauty. So, he has pursued several young models in the past."

That insider discloses even more, and said that Dai Ma grew up in a single parent home. He became the King of Pursuing Girls as early as in middle school. It was also revealed that when Dai Ma participated in The Voice in 2009, he quickly got together with one of the other contestants (Sophia Wong), but at that time he already had two girlfriends. One is a model and the other is a relative of a senior in the industry. He was actually a three timer! Dai Ma really does know how to pursue girls, no wonder girlfriend Coco had to personally go 'witness' her boyfriend and Sire on the set. Coco even clearly said: "If I'm not around, he'll get itchy!"

"Happened long ago"

Reporters contacted Dai Ma in Shanghai, and asked about the spread of his bed photos online. He said: "Even if so, it should be something that happened long ago, perhaps when I was still studying. (You were very much of a playboy when you were in school, always taking these types of photos?) No, even if its intimate photos, it is during the time I was dating. Any couple would take intimate photos. However, I really don't know how or why these photos leaked. There has been a lot of news lately, the past is the past. I just want to concentrate on work now." Actually, in regards to secrets, it is no secret when a second person knows. If you can take the photos, then be prepared to let everyone see them eventually. As for Dai Ma's twin brother, 'Sai Ma' Daniel Chau, he is much more faithful then his brother. Daniel has been dating his wealthy girlfriend for 5 years and is in a stabled relationship.

Coco responded to Dai Ma's bed photo leakage yesterday. She said: "I never took such photos! I have never been worried about leakage because I never took such photos. I'm not afraid or worried. He also hasn't asked me to take such photos. And I didn't know he had that kind of urge. The Adrian I know is not like that. I don't want to mention this person anymore. I just got off work and really tired, need to sleep now!"

Andrew Lau tipped Andy to win Best Actor award

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Since Deanie Ip won the Best Actress award with A Simple Life in Venice Film Festival, she continued to win 4 other Best Actress awards in several other film awards ceremonies and festival. The 31st Hong Kong Film Awards which will be held this Sunday, Deanie who is nominated for Best Actress naturally become the hot favorite, however director Andrew Lau feels that Shu Qi in his directed film – A Beautiful Life will win the Best Actress award, whereas Andy Lau will win the Best Actor award.

Andrew feel that as a film investor, Andy did not pick a commercialize film but rather a dark horse heart warming film to invest, that shows his confidence in the film. He said: “You can see that Andy changed his usual way of acting in the film, seeking changes, he made daring attempts in terms of investing and acting, it’s a good mentality!” Andy kept his acting low profile, no wonder it’s said that he’s not the male lead but the largest supporting actor of Deanie, however Andrew think otherwise, he said: “Sometimes everybody’s thinking is wrong, the male lead need not stand above all, this sort of acting from Andy will be like the character he’s entrusted to, not for him to show off in the whole film, he’s willing to take up the role, not every actor will do so, many actor will be calculative with you, complaining that the film title ‘Tao Jie’, clearly it’s not about male.”

Daniel Wu profits from restaurants

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho)'s Japanese restaurant opened its third store yesterday. Reportedly Ng Yin Cho was invited to attend a forum at his alma mater University of Oregon with his fellow alumni A SIMPLE LIFE (TOH JEH) producer Roger Lee. Ng Yin Cho said that his parent school invited three film professional alumni to attend the forum. The other was a Singapore director.

Ng Yin Cho pointed out that many alumni were in the business like Peter Lam Kin Ngok and Terence Chang Ka Chun. Of course they attended the school in different eras. Will he and Roger return to the school together? He said that they will definitely run into each other then. He admitted that he has not returned to the school in 15 years. According to Ng Yin Cho, the wu shu team that he created was still in existence at the school. When he will return to the school he will have a chance to see many professors and instructors from his architecture days.

Wilfred Lau laments about music

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Wilfred Lau Ho Lung on May 18 and 19 will perform a mini concert in Wanchai. With several karaoke hits, Si Hing complained about the overabundance of love songs in music. Other subjects had no room. He lamented, "Hong Kong music fans are hard to service!"

Would Si Hing have more expectation for movies and even hope to win an award? He said, "Since I started making movies, I was able to work with veterans like (Kenneth) Tsang Kong and Liu Kai Chi. Their acting made me fall in love with acting. Now I would hone my abilities. Even after I finish my scene I would observe how they perform. They would be my targets. I hope to be able to win Best Supporting Actor!" Will he try action film? He responded, "Actually I have a black belt in tae kwon do, but few remember that. I am also right for comedy! See my real side!"

Si Hing has been in TVB series but as a guest star. Not until SNIPERS (SUN CHEUNG SAU) did he realize what acting was. He recalled. "Back then I climbed to the third story for a shoot, I didn't realize how frightening it was until I got back to my room. The roof was made of tiles, after every step the tiles immediately shattered! After making SNIPERS I had broken ribs and ligament tears. I thought as a film industry new comer I had to risk my life!" As he grew older, he cherished opportunities even more. He said that if he was able to be like two years ago and made seven movies in a year he would be satisfied. He would have no problem playing support for a long term, the most important was to be able to make money and be fed.

Lives In Flames premiere

The film LIVES IN FLAMES (HEI SAI YIU GWUN) premiere took place two nights ago. In attendance were Mr., Jeana Ho Pui Yu, Alex Lam Tak Shun, Mag Lam Yun Tung, Michelle Wai (Si Nga), Irene Wan Bik Ha and others.

After being caught dating rich girl Sally, Mr. lead singer Alan was asked whether he invited his girlfriend. He said that he did not know and did not see her; later Dash revealed that he saw her. Alan still said that she might not be seen as he would give his own tickets to his family first. Was she not family? He said not so soon, right now she is just a girlfriend. That night they might not even sit together. Since this was his first film, no one had the guts to watch before hand. He only hoped that the response would be decent so they would have a chance to make another movie.

Lam Tak Shun said that he invited his father George Lam Chi Cheung, but when he learned that it was a public event he said it would depend on his schedule. Finally Ah Lam did not appear. Will he watch it again with his father? Lam Tak Shun said that he would not. He thought once was enough. Yet two nights ago his brother and sister came in support. Michelle Wai (Si Nga) revealed that earlier several junior high school students followed her home and the security guards actually opened the gates for them. She felt a lack of security and hoped to be able to move later.

Jimmy Wang clashes with Nicholas Tse over Best Supporting Actor

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Last year's Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor Nicholas Tse Ting Fung and Best Actress Lau Ka Ling this year returns to compete for Hong Kong Film Award again. Ting Fung with the film SHAOLIN (SUN SIU LUM JI) is nominated for Best Supporting Actor, competing with WU XIA's Jimmy Wang Yu, A SIMPLE LIFE's Paul Chun Pui, LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE's Lo Hoi Pang, OVERHEARD 2's Kenneth Tsang Kong, all of whom are elder veteran actors. One Armed Swordsman Wang Yu's acting in his comeback WU XIA remains sharp and is very likely to win.

Ka Ling Kwai Lun-Mei Wai Ying Hung Fight For Best Supporting Actress

Lau Ka Ling this year with LET THE BULLETS FLY competes for the Best Supporting Actress against WU XIA's Wai Ying Hung, A SIMPLE LIFE's Qin Hailu, LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE's So Hung Shuen, FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE's Kwai Lun-Mei. Although Ka Ling did not have too much screen time in LET, her acting was naturally yet lively, very pleasing; Kwai Lun-Mei's breakthrough performance in the wu xia action film also might not lose.

The Best New Performer gathers together China, Hong Kong and Taiwan actors. Hong Kong actress Shiga Lin Si Nga with LAN KWAI FONG (HEI OI YEH PO) battles Jam Hsiao's THE KILLER WHO NEVER KILLS, Zheng Shuang's MURAL (WAT BEI), MAGIC TO WIN (HOI SUM MOR FAT)'s Karena Ng Chin Yu and FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE's Sheng Chien. Lin Si Nga's ability to grasp her emotions made her performance excellent and her the favorite; yet Sheng Chien's performance was very convincing and had hopes to win.

Lau Ching Wan and Andy Lau butt heads over Best Actor

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Hong Kong Film Award Will Be Unveiled On Sunday
Deanie Ip Firmly Win Best Actress

The 31st Hong Kong Film Award will take place Sunday (the 15th) at the Cultural Center. A SIMPLE LIFE (TOH JEH) as a critical and commercial hit is seen as the favorite. Deanie Ip Tak Han has already won five Best Actress awards with this film and can be considered poised to win another. The Best Actor competition is more ferocious. Lau Ching Wan in LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE (DUET MING GUM) and OVERHEARD 2 (SIT TING FUNG WON 2) performs outstandingly and has a higher chance than A SIMPLE LIFE's Andy Lau Tak Wa.

Lau Ching Wan: Two Nominations Split Votes

Lau Ching Wan this year is nominated for Best Actor with both LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE and OVERHEARD 2, in competition with A SIMPLE LIFE's Lau Tak Wa, LET THE BULLETS FLY's Jiang Wen and Ge You. He in LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE handle the Panther character superbly, but because he has two nominations the vote split concern remains. In addition Lau Tak Wa's A SIMPLE LIFE performance is solid and natural and also won the Golden Horse Award, Lau Ching Wan would face some pressure; the other two strong rivals Jiang Wen and Ge You's acting is powerful and strong. This battle is not simple at all for Ching Wan.

The Best Actress fight of course is all on Ip Tak Han's side. She in A SIMPLE LIFE grasped the character accurately and with layer, sweeping the international award stage as she won the Venice Best Actress, the Golden Horse Best Actress, the 15th Tallinn Black Night Film Festival Best Actress, the Hong Kong Film Critic Society Best Actress and the 6th Asian Film Award Best Actress. As for the competition, only Shu Qi's tear jerking film A BEAUTIFUL LIFE had any chance. FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE (LUNG MOON FEI GAP)'s Zhou Xun, DON'T GO BREAKING MY HEART (DAN SUN NAM NUI)'s Gao Yuanyuan and WU XIA's Tang Wei inevitably can only run along.

Best Picture: FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE Vs. A SIMPLE LIFE

Director Ann Hui On Wa's movies have always been detailed. The film that she produced and directed, A SIMPLE LIFE, is a critical and commercial hit and motivates Hong Kong film's rise; the Tsui Hark directed FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE with 3D technology brings wu xia to life. With its 13 Hong Kong Film Award nomination both hold their own in Best Picture and Best Director; however, opponents LET THE BULLETS FLY's Jiang Wen, OVERHEARD 2's Alan Mak Siu Fai and Felix Chong Man Keung and LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE's Johnnie To Kei Fung all have decent word of mouth and each has supporters. The dark horse possibility cannot be eliminated.

Linda turned 28 yesterday. A group of fans sent their well wishes through Linda’s fan blog. Steven Ma, Evergreen Mak, Jess Sum Cheuk Ying, and producer, Lau Kar-ho also posted their well wishes. Linda replied in the blog, “Thank you for all well wishes. This year’s birthday is especially sweet and satisfactory. Although I am one year older, I am grateful and satisfied for everything God has planned all along for me. I have a very simple birthday wish, but very difficult to accomplish. It is good health and safe for my family and friends. Moreover, I wish them living everyday filled with positive energy. I will cherish today and everyday and wish you to do the same.”

On last Sunday, Linda’s elder sister and her husband arranged a surprised birthday party. Linda first thought it was a simple dinner, but later discovered her old friends and classmates from Vancouver were present. Linda said, “I have left Vancouver for 8 years. Many things have changed. I am happy that friendships and affections from family members have not changed. I will cherish and be grateful. I feel the presence of love. Thank you to my sister!.” Linda took this rare opportunity to spend her holidays in Vancouver, where she comfortably went cycling and enjoyed the rhythms of the ocean.

On Call 146 Hours, Tavia Yeung runs high fever: Gets No Break

Wednesday, April 11, 2012 Posted by Admin 0 comments
(Pregnant Look -- In the series, Tavia and Kenneth Ma has several scenes together, but in fact she's Damian Lau's 4th wife and is even carrying his child!)

Last Tuesday (4/3rd), the Silver Spoons, Sterling Shackles cast went up to Shanghai for outdoor shooting. TVB has been known to race against time when shooting series and also with the hot weather in Shanghai, the cast were naturally drying up. Lead actress Tavia Yeung shoots daily around the clock from 5am to 2am, and when taking the makeup hours into account, she practically gets no sleep at all. Suffering for 5 days in that kind of schedule, Tavia eventually falls ill. With her high fever, Tavia had no choice but to bring along her runny nose and continue shooting. Being the 'First Sister' really isn't as easy as expected!

After being with TVB for so many years, it is known that Tavia is a hard worker, but in the recent year she fell ill while shooting for The Other Truth where filterable bacteria got into her chin and she had to take half year off. This time, for the 40 episode Silver Spoons there are often last minute script changes, but her schedule in HK wasn't too tight, so it was pretty comforting for the 32 year old Tavia in the beginning.

However, why would TVB let you slack for that long? Last Tuesday, the majority of the outdoor scenes were set in Shanghai Film Park. Since the cast was so large, the crew was split into two. As the lead actress, Tavia had scenes with both of the crews, shooting day and night. One of the Staff revealed: "She was already not feeling well when she got to Shanghai, but had to work every single day. Basically she was in every scene. She worked from 5am to 2-3am, even an Iron Man would die!"
