Rumored getting slapped, Edmond Leung clarified: No one slapped me

Saturday, February 06, 2010 Posted by Admin 0 comments
The day before yesterday, Edmond Leung was in Mainland on stage at a bar, it was rumored that he got attacked getting slapped and broke the glass on his car. Rumors say that because Edmond rejected to duet with an alcoholic leading to two groups of alcoholics fighting. Afterwards, Edmond and his Big Four brothers Dicky Cheung, Andy Hui and William So flew to Thailand and then back to HK the night before yesterday. Edmond personally clarified and denied that nothing like that happened. He also has no fear in going back to Mainland for stage work. The other members of Big Four "dai sei" and took the rumors as a joke, saying that they must strengthen the concert security or they might get slapped at the concert too. They also teased that Edmond wasn't injured, but was "itching"!

A clip of the incident that day leaked online. In the clip, it was seen that there was an abnormal figure behind him when he was singing, he told the audience at the bar: "I am going controlling all situations.... I don't care what happens, I will continue to perform, ok? .... I don't like to be forced to do things by others! .... Ok, continue!" But when he wanted to continue, an alcoholic suddenly came forward to greet him, others tried to pull him back, the staff immediately pulled him off the stage.

The other night at 11pm, Edmond and the Big Four members arrived at the restricted area in the airport, he was the first to speak: "Thanks everyone, thanks for the concern to all friends and fans, don't need to worry. I am ok. I saw that some reports made the issue really serious, said that I got slapped. I have to clarify that nothing like that happened, I was not slapped nor did I had any bodily contact with anyone." He continued: "That night, I left the bar and felt really strange, wondering why there were two people at the stage, but at the time when music started, I was just focused on singing. But as I was singing I saw some movements by two people and others were coming forward at him. When I finished with the first song, the staff came and pulled me backstage, I wasn't sure what was happening, I was in backstage the whole time. Turns out that I had to sing 3-4 more songs, but the boss told me that I don't need to sing anymore, I can leave. So, I went back to my car and left not knowing what happened. (It was rumored that someone broke your car's glass?) Nothing happened, the glass on car and the car itself are doing well, perfect with appearance!"

After this incident, are you afraid to go back to Mainland for stage work? He expressed that he is not afraid, he often appears in places where there are more people. He also has experience from before, no worries. Did the incident scare his wife? He said: "That night when I came back to Hong Kong, I already told her what happened, nothing to worry about."

Taking rumors to joke around with

As for the Big Four, they were taking the rumors to joke with. Dicky laughed and asked if Edmond got slapped by his wife, Edmond laughed and said: "Not me, you?" Dicky then answered: "Yes!" Reporters asked if the Big Four had to help Edmond treat his injuries? Andy laughed: "Yes, but there were no injuries in sight, just his own scratch marks!"

Koni Lui won the honor to let Eric Tsang feed her by being the sexiest

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Eric Tsang's produced Lunar New Year film "72 Tenants of Prosperity" held its premiere the other night with more than a hundred artists attending. However, the recent marriage rumors revolving around Fala Chen seem to have led to her absence. Not sure if her absence was due to she wanting to avoid the media chasing after her asking questions regarding the rumors. Only Koni Lui, Samantha Ko and Bernice Liu were left to be the low-cut dressed, so low that even their "business line" was revealed. In the end, the victory went to Koni as she won Eric's honor to feed her sushi on the spot.

The cast of "72" who attended the premiere included: Jacky Cheung, Anita Yuen, Wong Cho Lam, Michael Tse, Linda Chung, Wayne Lai and over hundred other artists came to show their support. Many bosses and executives from different film production and record companies came as well.

With a very deep "V" and revealing her back, Koni Lui was sexier than her junior Samantha Ko and won Eric's personal honor to feed her sushi. Koni explained the reason to her sexy appearance in a flirty voice: "Well everyone said that we should dress really well, I especially went to find a sponsor to custom tailor this 5 figure dress. (Stealing the limelight?) If it does make everyone notice me more, then I'm satisfied. Samantha and Bernice both were really pretty tonight as well. (But you got Eric to feed you!) Eric is just treating me well, he knows that I had nothing to eat! Although Samantha carefully dressed herself, she still lost to her senior Koni, but still generously praised that Koni was really pretty.

As one of the producers for the film, Eric was really happy the whole night doing "cheers" with his cup everywhere. Towards the new film is well-thought out, he said: "Just looking at the poster, we know we are going to win. I am estimating to receive approximately 25 million, beating "All's Well Ends Well 2010" by 3 million! Raymond Wong Pak-Ming, that silly man went to Chengdu. He got scared of me so he doesn't dare to come tonight, haha. If he does a premiere, I will definitely go support it and even watch the film, then I can win without regret." Feeling high, Eric was on stage and suddenly did a 90 degree bow to everyone, he said: "This is definitely my 'speechless appreciation' to everyone." After the event, he went to Tsim Sha Tsui to get a mid-night snack to cure his hunger.

Bernice Liu not happy that Charmaine Sheh is in the rumors

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Last night, Bernice Liu attended new film "Ip Man Prequel" feast at Tsim Sha Tsui and was asked about the rumors that Charmaine Sheh obstructed her saying that she wasn't willing to publicly announce her relationship with Moses Chan, which led to dragging her in the water too with the new Charmaine & Moses rumors? Bernice's tone sounded like she was countering Charmaine, she said: "Other people have their own way of responding. Getting dragged into the rumors, I cannot control it, I will not talk about it anymore nor will I answer if I am dating or not. I want to focus on my career, don't want rumors for promotion."

Bernice also exposed that the movie she's filming is encountering several problems. At first, she learned Wing Chun for filming, but when filming started, she realized that her role was switched to the Japanese villain clan and just needs to learn martial arts. She also mistakenly misunderstood that Ip Man's producer Sin Kwok Lam was a film martial artist, and felt very embarrassed.

Mingpao Weekly Interviews Esther Kwan – Parts 2 and 3

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Part 2: Entering the Entertainment Industry – a 20 Year “Tryout”

Searching the records and browsing old reports regarding Esther, found out that before she entered ATV, she had actually tried out for TVB’s acting class, but was not accepted; afterwards, she took a job as an OL, but also acted in TV movies part-time as a contract artist. In 1989, she officially joined ATV and was instantly promoted by them; at the time, everyone said that she bore a resemblance to actress Annie Bridgewater. Back then, during an interview, she had said that she would give herself 2 years to ‘try out’ this job and see if a career in the entertainment industry suits her; the result – the ‘try out’ turned out to be 20 years!

Won TV Queen with series "Lady Flower Fist"

Throughout her career, Esther acted in numerous memorable roles, however it was her performance in the series "Lady Flower Fist" that won her the “TV Queen” award (at TVB’s Anniversary Awards). In addition, her character in the series "Armed Reaction" is most loved by HK audiences. Asked about which series or character can be considered her ‘representative work’, Esther replied: “Every series that I’ve made and every role I’ve played have given me a sense of accomplishment; for me, as long as I am satisfied with the performance and the results make me happy, then all of them are considered memorable. When it comes to acting partners, I’ve collaborated with Bobby AuYeung and Roger Kwok the most. The last series that I filmed before leaving TVB in 2000 was "The Legendary Four Aces", which to me, was the most unforgettable experience. This was the first (and only) TVB series where Nick and I collaborated as a couple – also, during filming of this series, Bobby was silly, Nick was crazy, plus Gordon Lam and Marco Ngai…the whole group of us wild and crazy people, half working and half playing…it was a lot of fun.”

Won’t Let Her Daughter Watch "Season of Fate"

Talking about her series "Season of Fate", Esther actually does not allow her daughter to watch her performance in the series. She says: “In the series, I’m always hitting Roger – if my daughter sees that and, wanting to imitate me, starts hitting people, then that’s not good.” With regard to the ratings for "Season of Fate" being only so-so, Esther commented: “If the series had higher ratings, of course I would be happier; the fact that the ratings are so-so right now is a little bit disappointing, especially since everyone put so much effort into their performances. It’s hard to capture the tastes and preferences of every single audience member; each character in the series actually carries some type of heavy burden, however the script-writers tried to use a lighter, less serious method to handle this, so perhaps it was not the type of ‘fighting’ or ‘dramatic’ series that the audiences were anticipating. For me, being able to participate in this series was already a ‘gain’ because a year ago, I had quit the series "Best Selling Secrets" in order to take care of my daughter; I was surprised that the producer dared to invite me back to do "Season of Fate"; this is already a very good work-related memory for me.”

Part 3: Loves Daughter to Death

Esther and her daughter Brittany are so tightly knitted together that their relationship can be classified as ‘Need You Every Minute of the Day’ [song title]. On the day of the interview, Esther, Nick, and Brittany actually left the house together; the driver first dropped Nick and Brittany off at a restaurant for dinner, then brought Esther to the interview location. Upon getting out of the car and knowing that they would be separated for a little while, both Esther and Brittany had a bout of “parting tears”….20 minutes later, Brittany calls her mom to talk….seeing the sweet expression on Esther’s face as she “sweet talks” with her daughter on the phone, it is absolutely clear now why Esther made the decision to sacrifice her career for her daughter.

After the interview, Esther had to go to Tsim Sha Tsui to attend a promotional event for "Season of Fate", so the reporter asked if she could ride with her. Before leaving, Esther very naturally asked the reporter: “Do you need to use the restroom before we go?” Before the reporter even had a chance to react, Esther quickly laughed and quipped: “Every time before getting in a car, I have a habit of asking my daughter whether she needs to use the restroom or not.” Obviously, she is already so deeply immersed in her ‘mother’ role that even if she has one or two more kids, it won’t be a problem. Esther admittedly stated that she also wants to give her daughter a brother or sister to keep her company, however having children is not something that she or Nick can control, so it’s better to just let fate take it’s course.

Gallen Lo neglects his son for new wife

Posted by Admin 0 comments
One gets showered with lavish gifts, while the other receives a big "No" in the face. This is the extreme treatment administered by top Hong Kong TVB actor Gallen Lo on his new life and his former marriage.

The 47-year-old has been criticized for the way he has 'forgotten' his ex-wife and biological son after marrying Chinese actress Sophie Su last December. When he met up with his 10-year-old son Yuk Sing for a meal last Thursday, the actor was constantly on the phone with his new wife. He even refused his son's requests of a game console.

Gallen split up from his ex-wife Claire Fong in 2008 after a 10-year marriage, and no longer provides financial assistance or alimony to her and Yuk Sing. Mother and son recently moved from a 490 square-foot house to a smaller unit of 430 square-feet.

On the other hand, Sophie is surely enjoying her new status as Mrs Gallen Lo. She received a 3000 square-foot Beijing villa worth over HK$7 million (S$1.3 million) from her husband, and after a tour around Europe for their honeymoon, the couple took another vacation in Hainan Island last month.

Jacky Cheung interviewed simultaneously by TVB and i-Cable: “Defining Moment”

Posted by Admin 0 comments
With no immediate resolution in sight to the royalties dispute between TVB and the big 4 record companies, Jacky Cheung has been bravely speaking out against TVB and has taken the lead in accepting interviews with ATV in Cantonese. On the day of his press conference [for his album], TVB also did not send any reporters or crew to interview him, causing there to be speculation that perhaps both sides (Jacky and TVB) are not on good terms.

Two days ago, Jacky attended the premiere of the Shaw Brothers movie "72 Tenants of Prosperity" as the “male lead”. At the event, with the help of good friend Eric Tsang as ‘go-between’, he finally ‘broke’ TVB’s boycott by simultaneously accepting an interview with both TVB and i-Cable; no wonder even Jacky himself exclaimed: “Wow! This is definitely a defining moment!”

Shaw Brothers Chinese New Year gala film "72 Tenants of Prosperity" held its premiere day before yesterday. Most of the TVB artists who participated in the film (over 100 total) were in attendance to support the premiere, leading producer Eric Tsang to give them a huge 90 degree bow in appreciation. In a further show of appreciation, Eric told the artists: “Endless thanks!”. He also indicated jokingly that since Jacky is his good friend, he can “take advantage” and “use” him to promote the film.

During the event, Eric indicated that he is “absolutely sure” that TVB will send a crew to interview Jacky. Laughing, he said: “In fact, TVB will also do a "Jacky World" special and broadcast his songs.” Moments later, holding a microphone with the logo for TVB’s entertainment show "Scoop" on the front, Eric went over to interview Jacky, pulling host and reporter Lai Tze Shan with him. Playfully, Eric asked Jacky: “When was the last time TVB interviewed you?” Jacky responded (also playfully): “Well, let me see, I need to count back…hey, am I allowed to sing now?” Then, Jacky breaks out in song, singing the first line to a popular Chinese New Year tune in Mandarin. Eric then follows with: “See, Jacky opened his ‘golden mouth’ to sing…I told you that everything would be okay!”

As Lai Tze Shan finished her interview and was about to step away, i-Cable’s host Wei Tze Ho quickly approached; Eric then immediately told Tze Shan to stay and continue the interview, causing Jacky to be interviewed simultaneously in Cantonese by both TVB and i-Cable. Even Jacky himself exclaimed: “Wow! This is definitely a defining moment!” A reporter then asked if this interview will be broadcast in its entirety? I-Cable’s host quickly handed the microphone over to Eric, who jokingly pushed it away and said: “Go away! The big stations have the big stations’ way of doing things and big famous people have big famous people’s way of doing things!” Jacky expressed that to be able to interview with both stations using Cantonese, there’s a feeling of cooperation and camaraderie. As for Eric, he expressed that he hopes the new year (year of the tiger) will bring with it a ‘good atmosphere’.

Afterwards, Jacky laughed and stated that only Eric has the ability to arrange for both TVB and i-Cable to simultaneously interview him; he states: “All of a sudden I feel that there are no more barriers, not sure if I am dreaming. I’ve been in this industry so many years, yet this is the first time that I’ve experienced this type of situation; it’s very exciting.” Regarding his earlier comments about supporting a “combined” music award ceremony causing friction among the stations (with Metro Radio accusing RTHK of ‘pretending to be the big boss’), Jacky responded: “I’ve reflected on it….it’s my fault…there are definitely obstacles to the 4 stations holding a ‘combined’ award ceremony. Perhaps the music industry can look into this further and come up with an award ceremony that has mutually agreed upon standards.”

Eric Tsang indicated that he is not afraid that him being the ‘go-between’ will cause him to be reprimanded by TVB: “As long as it makes the audiences happy, I will do it. To be honest, both parties are actually fine – there are no problems there….rumors flying left and right is the problem. It’s only a royalties dispute between the companies – the artists themselves are not a problem….though there could be a possibility of ‘separating’ the interviews at the time of broadcast (referring to the simultaneous interview with Jacky).”

TVB top management Virginia Lok expressed that she welcomes all media to come show their support for Shaw Brothers films – in fact, they especially invited i-Cable to the premiere. With regard to whether TVB will air Jacky’s interview, Ms. Lok replied: “Why wouldn’t we? He’s the ‘heart and soul’ of this film…however I don’t know how much of it will air – we’ll find out at that time.” So at other events, will this situation not be allowed then? Ms Lok replied: “All media outlets are invited to movie premieres; movies and television are different…in terms of television-related events, we can talk about that later.”

Jacky appears on ATV and talks about each of his new songs

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Earlier, Jacky Cheung took the lead in breaking TVB’s ‘monopoly’ on singers and accepted an interview with ATV. Yesterday, he took it one step further by filming a TV special for ATV entitled "Jacky Cheung: Private Corner" and accepting an interview with ATV host Jerry Lam Hiu Fung.

In the interview, which was conducted at a musical equipment company, Jacky not only walks the audience through the entire process of how his album was formed – from early planning stages to selection of songs to actual production – he also goes in depth and talks about the content as well as musical style of each song. In addition to incorporating behind-the-scenes footage of the album’s production and various MVs, the musical special will also interview the creative musical crew involved with the production of the album in efforts to familiarize the audience with the unique qualities and techniques of the album from a professional perspective. The program is scheduled to air on ATV on February 14th.

Fala Chen and Marie Zhuge engage in a war of words

Friday, February 05, 2010 Posted by Admin 0 comments
Recently rumors spread in the entertainment industry that Fala Chen and Neway's oldest young master (Sit Sai Hang) secretly married in Mainland. Although the character used the reason of "privacy" and refused to respond, but the good news is traveling around. Rumored with Sit Sai Hang's younger brother, Marie Zhuge had once said to have not gotten along with Fala Chen both in outside and in the heart, the straight forward Marie exposed too quickly by accident that Fala is already married. She also implied that someone doesn't know how to respect the elderly and has no manners when speaking. Afterwards, Fala fought back and said that she's "releasing data to make news" and "counting on other people to reach the top". Feeling that she's getting insulted, Marie responded clearly stating her position by stressing that the person "releasing the data" is someone else, it has nothing to do with her. The two are in a war of words with the smell of "gunpowder". There is a high possibility that this war could continue to rise.

Towards Fala's counteract, Marie felt extremely frustrated, yesterday she expressed over the phone helplessly: "I didn't say anything! I never said that she is married, I have never pointed out that someone has no manners, I am only talking about myself. The other responses I made were about myself, other people's business I will not talk about." Fala said that you are making news? "We all want to be clear, all the reports are saying that I "made" it up, who is the real person who spread the news, we all know it inside!" Marie then repeated herself that she did not intend to make gossip and hopes that Fala won't believe such rumors and counteract her.

She also expressed that she is not trying to promote herself, last night she responded again to Fala's marriage news at a fashion show that she attended. She said: "Marriage is not suppose to be a secret, it is something happy, something to be shared with everyone. But I personally like to be simple, to hold my wedding on a hot air balloon. It is not surprising that I may have an impromptu wedding in the future. I feel that it is silly to hide it, I will at least announce to the public that I am getting marry and will invite good friends and family for the banquet." Asked if she'll have to change and call Fala "dai so" instead? She carefully answered: "I'll call her 'Laughing So'! I don't dare to call her 'dai so', I'm afraid she'll feel old. We are currently busy with our own things, haven't encountered each other."

Amy Kwok gets the "acting addiction" hoping to come back with a comedy series

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Yesterday Amy Kwok attended a promotional event and expressed that in the recent years she has been focused on her family, putting down her career development. However, she smiled and said that she's starting to get the acting addiction back as she's determined to sprint back into the industry this year. She hopes for an opportunity for a comedy series, Amy said: "Because there is set work schedule, can relax a bit and I don't wanna get depressed. It doesn't matter who I work with." Asked if she has any big plans for a baby this year? She smiled: "I do have big plans for work, I already have a boy (referring to Sean Lau) which is enough for me."

To accommodate her husband Sean Lau's filming schedule, for the Lunar New Year they plan to stay in Hong Kong to celebrate. Speaking of Sean once admitting that he's not a romantic person and will just accompany his wife in watching movies and go hiking to kill time, Amy laughed: "Yes, but he does have good points. We have been married for 11 years and had our ups and downs, he has gotten much more mature than before. He's not just a husband, but an important figure at home, we have a very comfortable feeling."

Roger Kwok: matchmaking Sonija Kwok is "too difficult"

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Roger Kwok, All Time Favourite TVB Male TV Character winner and happily-married family man, isn't too keen on matchmaking his fellow actress and god-sister Sonija Kwok.

They aren't related by blood, but these two famous Hong Kong TVB actors are certainly close-knit like family. Sonija became the godmother of Roger's two-year-old son, Brad, after the two grew closer while filming comedic-paranormal TVB drama series, D.I.E..

The pair, now affectionately referred to as "god-siblings" were in town last week along with eight of their fellow TVB colleagues to attend the inaugural StarHub TVB Awards ceremony on Friday night.

For his role as a mentally-disabled adult male named Ah Wong with the IQ of an eight-year-old in Square Pegs, Roger, 45, bagged All Time Favourite TVB Male TV Character award at the ceremony.

The series was a huge hit in 2002 and the breakthrough role shot him to fame after a bout of forgettable roles. With his win, he commented on how Adam Cheng once told him that an actor would have to "wait for at least five years" to get an outstanding role.

"I realized that he lied to me because I waited 18 years before I got Ah Wong," he jokingly exclaimed in mock anger.

Despite the influx of up-and-coming younger actors gaining popularity, Roger does not feel the least bit threatened by their presence. Steven Ma, 38, even jumped in defense of the actor and said, "No one can replace Ah Wong. It is impossible!"

"The newbies, experienced and veteran actors each play a different role," said Roger and "you can't expect every drama series to be on Raymond Lam or Steven Ma just because you like them. You'll develop a phobia if you watch that every night!"

Being godmother to Roger's firstborn, the foxy Sonija, who prefers the term 'god-aunty', gave a noncommittal reply when asked if she feels to urge to settle down and start a family of her own,

"It is good enough for me to just look at others. When we chat, I would often ask him about his family. It makes me feel very happy to see his perfect family."

She is also adamant about not dating co-stars, rejecting the notion with a resolute "No" when reporters asked. She believed that "it is better to separate work from love" and staunchly repeated, "No, [I] definitely do not want [to date a co-star]," putting an end to all guesses and questions.

On the other hand, Steven, who will hit the big 4-O in two years time, was a little more receptive to the topic of marriage. Having once been quoted by the Hong Kong media of his desire to get hitched and "settle down as soon as possible", he clarified his previous statement, explaining that "A high master once told me that I would definitely get married this year. If fate allows, I'm totally fine with marriage. It's not like we are 18-year-olds anymore."

Since he's chums with Sonija and Steven, we had to ask Roger if he plans to play matchmaker to his two singleton friends.

"That is too difficult, it is too big a responsibility," he replied in hesitation.

To which Steven reassuringly chimed in support, "Don't worry, we'll find our partners by ourselves."

Suki Tsui will have her daughter delivered by Caesarean Section in 7 weeks time

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Suki Tsui is 8 month pregnant, but she still looks very fit. As a skincare spokesperson, she attended the promotion press conference yesterday. That was her last public engagement before her delivery. Suki told reporter she has decided to have her baby girl delivered by Caesarean birth in 7 weeks time. Earlier on, her husband Kenny had some disputes with the media, Suki took that opportunity to explain to the reporter that her husband is not a bad tempered person underneath. Suki said she wanted a C-section birth because she wouldn't be able to stand the labor pain. She said "I had a dream of my labor, I was in pain. Therefore I have decided to have the operation. In future if I am prergnant again, I will do the same. If I have another boy, I will call it a day." Suki was asked if she would stay at home before the delivery? Suki replied "Noway, if I stay at home for 3 days, I would be bored stiff. If I don't go out, I would become depressed."

Talking about Kenny who had a dispute with a magazine reporter last month, he was seen spitting saliva at the reporter and than called the police to prevent the paparazzi getting near to Suki. Suki disclosed that her husband is still angry at the incidence. Suki is supportive of her husband by saying "He lost his temper to protect his family, he is even more protective towards his parents. He is not unreasonable. When I first met him, he was dribbling with saliva, but he doesn't do it anymore. He will not spit at the reporter anymore."

Suki went on to say "We are still seeking legal action with that particular magazine, that is why we don't want our pictures taken by them. Whether they are banned to come near me, that I don't know. In fact Kenny is not a rough person, he never swears in front of me. I am not worried about my baby learning the bad habit. If there is any dispute, I know how to avoid it." Suki is a lucy girl, she said Kenny is with her 24 hours a day. Therefore she won't need a body guard yet and she doesn't need to teach her husband how to deal with the media either.

It was a pity that I have lost it when I moved house."

Hacken responded "I will pay more attention to her mood changes after her delivery. Pregnant woman's hormone's is different. Edison Chen wants Tony Leung to play him the most in a film

Posted by Admin 0 comments
This year Edison Chen turns 30 years old and has experienced a lot in the last 10 years. Besides the Artist Photo Scandal 2 years ago, he has demonstrated talent in doing business and investment. Edison was asked if his life experiences were brought up to the big screen as an inspirational story, which actor does he want to play him the most? He expressed Tony Leung Chiu Wai is the best candidate.

Before the photo scandal, Edison's goal was to earn enough money by age 32 for retirement, but because of the incident his plans were forced to change. Now, he's still ambitious in business planning to have 18-25 clothing stores opened worldwide by 2012. He then will continue to open up to 30, 50 stores with more and more people acknowledging his brand. He said: "After the incident, there are more people in my store. Before 50 or 60 year old people that didn't listen to hip hop music would not know who Edison Chen is, now everyone knows who Edison Chen is. Some people would come have a look at my store in disguised. Since the opening of my store, I deliberately tied the brand to myself. Currently, there are many foreigners out there that knows this brand, but don't know who Edison Chen is yet, but I'm still really happy."

Miriam Yeung turns into a category 3 star

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Although Miriam Yeung's new film "Love In A Puff" is just a confessing love story, but she can easily turn into a category 3 star at any time. The film will be releasing on March 25th on the big screen, earlier the film went through censoring and because the artists use of foul language is too realistic, it has been rated as an category 3 film. Director Pang Ho Cheung felt helpless towards this. The day before yesterday, Miriam and Shawn Yue were at an event for the film and felt surprised after learning that the film is rated category 3 because of foul language.

Speaking of the film split into two versions, the category 3 version is only for audience 18 years and older, while the other one is a PG version good for all audience. Miriam said: "this movie is the realism of Hong Kong's culture because it is a love story about modern adults, of course the dialogue will be a bit rough. In usual days, I rarely use foul language, it is only when I'm filming my language is more rough, but it is not foul language. At first I was worried about my performance, if it was going to be natural enough, but when we started filming and I saw Shawn's arrogant look, I easily became rude and rough."

Shawn felt that the dialogue is how the Hong Kong culture is like and it is a pity that the film is rated category 3.

As for Director Pang Ho Cheung personally hoped that audience can get the taste of the original film, currently a 18 and older version is going to release, the PG version will first need to go through censoring before deciding. He feels that Miriam had just become Mrs. Ting and suddenly changing into a "category 3 star" is not such a good thing for her. "Love In A Puff" starts out with a scene of a group of girls and guys out smoking on the streets.

Charmaine Sheh denies to the rumors with Moses Chan, already prepared a "wedding gift" for him

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Every time Charmaine Sheh films a series, she always gets rumored with her male co-star. Recently, she gets rumored again with Moses Chan while filming for "Can't Buy Me Love". A magazine report said that Moses used coffee to win Charmaine's heart and has been in contact for two months already. Bernice Liu's father was also photographed in going to find Moses to scold at him. Yesterday the 3 rumored artists all attended separate events, Charmaine and Moses both denied to the rumors. Charmaine even took the rumors on a "tour around the garden", saying that she prepared a gift (implying a "wedding gift").

Yesterday afternoon, Charmaine attended a Jockey Club event and was teased by the reporters that she is having peach blossom luck. She directly said that its just a lot of rumors going on, not peach blossoms. Asked if her romance with Moses is real or fake? She said: "I already even prepared the gift ("yan ching")! (Moses and who's gift?) I don't know, my rumors with him are not true." Speaking of Moses using coffee to pursue her? She laughed: "That day he treated everyone to coffee, not just me and he did not buy me property, its not that big of a deal." She expressed that she is only colleagues with Moses, "this issue should be given to the two main characters to explain (Moses & Bernice), I am not the main character, I am just a victim in a disaster. I will not be responding to this anymore." Asked if she would send her wishes to them? She only smiled and said that she wishes everyone an improved New Year.

On the same afternoon, Moses took part in another event and was congratulated by reporters, he helplessly said: "I don't understand why nothing happened when we were shooting for "Beyond the Realm of Conscience", not sure if just me or Kevin Cheng." He said that he has always been a simple person and hopes that his rumors are simple too. Speaking of Bernice's father scolding him? He expressed that he only said "hello" to him, absolutely not scolding, he said: "the worst is dragging someone else into the water, the made up stories has gone too far this time." About Bernice being extremely jealous, wishing Charmaine and him "lovers together at last"? Moses was shocked and said: "Oh? So much confusion. (Charmaine said that she's prepared a gift?) I don't know how to respond, I'm just listening to what fate arranged. (Not even a storm can break apart you and Bernice?) I don't know how to answer." Reporters told him to describe his relationship with Bernice, he only said that privacy is kept to himself and said that there is no need to comfort her, actually the right thing to do is to comfort Kevin. How does he describe the relationship between the four of them? He said: "We are a part of one family, brother and sisters under God."

Bernice: "Don't bother other people"

Yesterday Bernice just said that her father did not "scold" Moses, there is no such thing. She said: "Maybe reporters want to write a more exciting story. My dad is just upset of the magazines not choosing a more handsome photo of him to publish." She said that there is no need to call Moses to clarify, it is more important not to bother people! Bernice expressed that she wants to give a 170,000 dollar diamond earring to her mom, coincidentally the other day Charmaine also said that she wants to give a 160,000 dollar emerald ring to mother as well, the two are both wealthy enough to give expensive gifts to their parents.

Charmaine diligently studies her scenes

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Yesterday around 10pm, Charmaine Sheh was in Causeway Bay filming the series "Heaven and Earth". That night, Charmaine was filming a scene where she has to run across the street and chase a bunch of youths carrying mattresses; due to all the cars in the street, she had to re-film the scene numerous times. After she finished filming, Charmaine immediately put her big coat back on for warmth, then diligently sat down with the director and others to study upcoming scenes – so hardworking.

Jordan Chan's Valentine's Day wedding possibly a shotgun

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Hong Kong actor Jordan Chan has seemingly owned up to speculations of a shotgun marriage with his fiancée, actress Cherrie Ying when reporters quizzed him. The couple is due to wed on Valentine's Day in Las Vegas.

The 42-year-old was at an event with Ruby Lin and Chrissie Chau in Hong Kong's shopping district Causeway Bay for make-up artist and good friend Rick Chin's new skincare business on Monday. It was his first public appearance since announcing the wedding date, and the media was curious whether the bride-to-be is already pregnant.

When asked this, Jordan could only shyly thank reporters repeatedly for their blessings.

Is there a double blessing, reporters continued asking. He beamed, "Thanks but sorry, I really cannot say."

Sensing that there is more than meets the eye, the media asked if they could expect good news in a few months.

"Yes, thanks," he conceded.

Known for his gangster roles, Jordan also promised to earn big bucks to give his wife and children a good life.

Jordan and Cherrie have been dating for three years and will exchange their vows on 14 Feb at Vegas' Little White Wedding Chapel. The wedding reception will be held in Hong Kong.

Mingpao Weekly Interviews Esther Kwan

Posted by Admin 1 comments
Part 1: Esther Kwan – Focus on Family Life

20 years of acting experience, over 60 TV series to her credit (TVB, ATV, plus China and Taiwan series), inaugural TV Queen (first year of TVB’s Anniversary Awards), and nicknamed “Queen of Hong Kong Series” by the entertainment industry in China…..for Esther Kwan, all of these accomplishments pale in comparisons to the 2 people who matter most to her: husband Nick Cheung and daughter Brittany.

After marrying Nick, Esther has ‘left’ the TV industry 3 times (she calls it a ‘mini-retirement’) – in 2006, before and after her daughter Brittany was born, she stopped working for a total of 2 years; in 2007, she ‘came out of retirement’ to film the series "Best Selling Secrets" for TVB, however in order to take care of her daughter, she made the decision to quit the series halfway into it; last year, when she had a little bit of time prior to her daughter entering school (and Nick was available to take care of Brittany), she filmed the series "Season of Fate" that is currently airing on TVB. Esther has admitted that this time around, her ‘mini-retirement’ (after filming "Season of Fate") will be for a longer time – in the coming months, her focus will be entirely on being a good mother for Brittany and the ‘woman behind the scenes’ for her Movie King husband Nick.

Feelings of Guilt from Working

Since Esther’s contract with TVB expired at the end of last year, she now ‘belongs’ entirely to Nick Cheung.

“Actually, I belong to the ‘Cheung Family’ not to ‘Nick’—the Cheung Family does not consist of just Nick alone; in the coming days, I will be taking on the ‘role’ of being a good mother and good wife. When I first made the decision to go down this path (retirement), I did feel a little hesitant and unhappy in the beginning. There are a lot of mothers out there who are able to balance their career and family so well – I considered possibly doing this too and continuing to film series. However, during the time when I was filming "Best Selling Secrets", I struggled with feelings of guilt for not being able to take care of my daughter…I realized then that I’m not the type who can do multiple things at once. Now, watching my daughter grow up every day makes me so happy that the struggles I used to experience have been entirely forgotten. On deeper thought, from the day I decided to become a mother, I already committed to the responsibility, so there shouldn’t have been a conflict (between career and family) in the first place.”

Changing Her Personality For Her Daughter

Esther Kwan has always been the career-minded type and with work, she has been especially strong-willed, so it is hard to imagine how much she has sacrificed for her 4 year old daughter.

“I feel that I am a ‘focus-oriented’ type [of person]; in the past, I would ‘focus’ on acting, now I ‘focus’ on learning to be a mother. I don’t feel that this is ‘sacrificing’ because I clearly understand what I want in life. A lot of my daughter’s classmates’ mothers were also once working professionals, but now are full-time stay-at-home moms. There are different stages in life – for me, acting is something that I know well and have confidence in, but when it comes to being a mother, I am a ‘newbie.’ Last year, when my daughter started school, I was not able to anticipate what types of difficulties I would possible encounter. The first month Brittany started school, she was very excited and happy, however later on she would cry endlessly as soon as she set foot in the school’s doors – this occurred for quite some time. At the time, I was completely lost and didn’t know what to do – the more she cried, the more my head ached – it was crazy! Luckily, the teachers and her classmates’ mothers helped me out – I found out that at school, Brittany was struggling with another classmate over toys and she (Brittany) felt like she was being bullied; she didn’t know how to communicate well with the classmate and in the ‘strange’ environment, she felt lonely. At her young age, she didn’t understand how to handle things emotionally yet, so all she could do was cry.”

Roger Kwok, who has collaborated with Esther the most in filming series, once commented that the one thing about her personality that has not changed in all these years is her habit of not engaging in needless chit-chat while working. However, because of her daughter, she now spends about 3 days a week socializing and having ‘tea party’gatherings with other parents from her daughter’s school.

“I’m not a very assertive or active person at all; the reason I attend these gatherings is so that my daughter and her classmates have more opportunity to play together and thereby open the lines of communication. The gatherings allow us parents to share tips and best practices while at the same time my daughter is able to widen her social circle and learn to communicate with others.”

Similar to Winning the Lottery

With her husband and daughter being the entire focus of her life now, Esther has become especially low-key and private when it comes to the entertainment industry. Even with her husband Nick winning so many film awards last year, she chose to be the ‘woman behind the scenes’ – preferring to stay at home and take care of their daughter while waiting for him to deliver the ‘good news’ about his wins.

“I don’t feel that Nick winning 6 Movie King awards last year was too much – in fact, I hope that there are more to come in the future. The joy and happiness of seeing him win those awards was like winning the lottery – very exciting and wonderful; as his wife, I am very proud of him. However, at the same time, I did feel a little regret – when I won the ‘TV Queen’ award at the height of my career, it was too bad that I didn’t get the chance to enter the movie industry, especially since many of the biggest names in the HK film industry now once started their careers in television. During the time when my career was at its peak (in the 90s), the trend in the film industry was on glamour and sexiness and many actresses in movies wore very sexy (or very little) clothes. Since I wasn’t that type of actress, I didn’t have any opportunity!”

Nick and Esther started dating during filming of the 1992 series "The Story of Bruce Lee"; at the time, Esther was already a first-rate ATV actress (‘fa dan’), but Nick was only a 2nd/3rd line actor – their relationship was revealed when the 2 of them were spotted together ‘eating fish balls’ bought from a street vendor. After experiencing highs and lows in their careers and in their love relationship, the 2 finally married in 2003 – in the blink of an eye it seems, they’ve been together now for almost 18 years.

“At that time, both of us were not that well-known, so even though we were dating, there wasn’t much commotion or gossip. Actually, to be honest, the two of us haven’t changed much – sometimes, when Nick feels like eating street food, we would still go to the local street vendors and buy some ‘fish balls’ or other foods. We don’t let his ‘Movie King’ status get to our heads – for us, it’s still simple family life. The relationship between Nick and myself has reached a higher level in terms of communication – I don’t need to ask him about every single thing that happens; if there is an important situation that he feels he needs to tell me about or I feel I need to talk to him about something, we sit down and talk it out. A year ago, when he was experiencing emotional and personality issues from non-stop filming, he had a lot of friends who helped him out and gave him different perspectives on things – I just quietly stood by him and supported him. He is the type of person who gets so immersed in his acting that he could lose himself (his love of acting is far greater than mine)…knowing this, the best way for me to support him is to allow him the freedom to pursue his acting and take it to the next level.”

Not Worried About Husband Having Indiscretions

Another reassurance for Esther is that Nick is rarely ever surrounded by gossip or rumors, so she is not worried about him ‘being naughty’ (having indiscretions).

“Well, the HK paparazzi is always following him, so I’m not worried. He’s very alert and if he notices that someone wants to ‘get close’, he knows to avoid the situation so the person doesn’t have the chance to pursue it. His sense of alertness and self-control is extremely high – he’s very much ‘afraid of misery.’ He knows that certain situations or actions could have serious consequences, so he doesn’t let himself give in to temptation – though maybe in his mind he wants to….haha!” This couple has such a great relationship that whenever Esther mentions Nick’s name, the feeling she gets is sweetness. Years ago, there was once a cover story in a magazine about the 2 of them, which they have saved and treasured to this day. At the time, the two of them lived in a small village house in Sai Kung – in order to get to the front door, they had to climb several flights of stairs. One time, a reporter had captured a picture (unbeknownst to them) of Nick carrying a tired Esther (she had just gotten off from work) on his back climbing up the stairs to their home. (How sweet!). Nowadays, though they are a ‘3-person’ family living in a mansion of sorts, the feeling is still just as sweet.

“Haha! Not really – now, he will only carry Brittany on his back, he won’t carry me! In fact, now he carries her so much that even if his arms shake and his feet are tired, he still refuses to let her go. As for me, I already told Brittany that she is a big girl now – if she continues to sit on my lap, my legs are going to break!”

Esther enjoys and cherishes the family life she has right now….asked whether she would consider acting again, she says: “Acting is a job I like doing, however some things need to be prioritized in life – right now, my daughter is the most important. If there is a film role that is a good fit for me, I may consider it…I will continue to film commercials though, since the timing for those is more flexible. In terms of TV series, there aren’t that many roles that are suitable for someone of my age nowadays…maybe in a couple years when my daughter is older and less attached to me, then we'll see...

Joey to give red packets to thank fans

To thank her fans, Joey promised to give lai see to fans who have bought her EP

Joey prepares mystery Lai See for fans

10 years have passed since HK diva Joey Yung debuted. In the recently released limited edition EP boxset, she has looked for old stuff like old photos for the photo booklet, made some cute USBs, resulting in a frenzy from fans. 5 days after its release, it's selling at more than twice its original price. Joey is so touched she says that she wants to give out lai see to thank her fans!

To commemorate her 10th anniversary, Joey has put in lots of thought into preparing her EP. On the day of its release, sales have already reached platinum records. Together with the fact that the boxset has other memorabilia included, there's a black market forming. Besides it being sold at increasingly higher prices, even the shops are selling it at higher prices. As of yesterday, a shop in Causeway Bay is selling it at $1288.

Fans using it as a present

Joey is happy that fans' reaction is warm. She said, "The normal EP has 9 different styles for cover, making fans scrambling to collect all of them. We thought that it would be better that all 9 were released, but now there's still a black market selling it at twice the price. There are fans wanting to buy it to give it to others as presents during the CNY."

There are shops selling the originally $480 boxset for $1288.

To thank her fans for their support, she says she'll be giving out lai see. "If I meet any fans holding on to the boxset during the CNY period, I'll give him/her a lai see. Contents will be a mystery, and I'll only give out a limited number of the lai see, while stocks last! And only until the 7th day, People's Day."

There will not be a second version

When asked if she will release a second version of the EP, Joey said, "No. When the 2000 boxsets are sold out, that's the end. Too much resources were used to produce this 2000 boxsets. Also, if we were to release a second version now, it will be very unfair to those fans who bought this one at the inflated prices." She will be in Mainland during CNY, and only be back on the second day of the New Year.

Joey's limited boxset includes lots of extras, resulting in many fans wanting to get it.

Towards Charmaine Sheh & Moses Chan rumors, sour Bernice Liu: Lovers together at last

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Moses Chan and Bernice Liu have developed an underground relationship in the recent year, looks like even a storm can't break them apart. But, it was rumored that after Bernice stepped into Hollywood, their relationship has changed. Yesterday a report said that Moses felt lonely and started love sparks with Charmaine Sheh who had just broken up with Kevin Cheng. The two are currently shooting for new series "Can't Buy Me Love" and would often flirt. Also, Moses has successfully won Charmaine's heart using coffee. Bernice's father also especially went to TVB city to confront Moses, helping his daughter.

Yesterday Moses expressed through the phone: "The reports are completely ridiculous, especially getting Bernice's father into this. (Bernice's father scolded you?) The made up dialogue is pretty funny, Bernice's father is someone outside of the industry, doing this is unfair to him." He expressed that Bernice and him are "just like old times, good friends". Asked if Charmaine has any feelings? Moses said: "Haha! What kind of feelings? A big Kevin Cheng is in the studio right next to us!" He expressed that he did not share coffee with just Charmaine, everyone else got a share too.

Although Moses just casually responded to the new romance, but Bernice clearly felt differently, the night before yesterday she appeared displeased: "Then I am happy for him, new lovers together at last." She expressed that she will not give Valentine's Day gift to Moses. Bernice responded again yesterday: "Moses and I rarely see each other, the reports are just for entertainment." As for if Moses and Charmaine are together, is she ok with it? Bernice said: "I have always been ok with it, we have always been friends. Also, I am currently busy with my work." Some people say that no matter how busy you are, you must watch over your boyfriend carefully? Bernice said: "I don't watch! No boyfriend, how can I watch?" Do you plan to let Moses go? "I feel that its best to focus on your own part." She strongly stressed that her father never went to talk to Moses, it was just that her father often drives her around, therefore he met her friends and colleagues. Bernice said: "That time, my dad was just greeting Moses."

Charmaine Sheh: A "good idea" to invest in Singapore's properties

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Real estate agents here, start taking notes. Charmaine Sheh, one of Hong Kong's most popular TVB actresses and its top earner for 2009 (from dramas and endorsements), is considering putting her money on properties on the island.

The 34-year-old, who was in town last weekend for the inaugural StarHub TVB Awards ceremony, had recently declared wanting to "invest in property" but has yet to "decide on a location."

When reporters suggested Singapore, her face lit up and she enthused in excitement, "That is a pretty good idea!" before she continued rattling on how she's impressed and in love with the country's "cleanliness and the good city-planning."

Dressed in a resplendent white cocktail dress, Charmaine was all smiles when she commented on her position as the top-earning TVB actress of 2009. "Honestly, I was very happy when I read that report. I'm not sure how the others fared last year but I am pretty pleased with it. I hope to earn even more this year but I still think that health is most important."

She revealed that she "hasn't had a good sleep for a few days. I only slept for five hours for the past three to four days!"

After her goody-two shoes turn in the hit-period drama series, Beyond the Realm of Conscience, Charmaine Sheh will reunite with Moses Chan in two upcoming back-to-back drama series, Heaven and Earth and Arrival of Princess. At the press conference of the award ceremony, the two stars appeared to be comfortable in each other's company, cracking jokes at one another.

"We don't phone one another but we do talk about everything else. For example, properties," the pair chirped in unison.

Despite having worked together for three consecutive projects, Charmaine said that they are not tired of working with each other. "That's because Moses He was a fatty [in Beyond the Realm of Conscience]. He is skinnier now, and will portray a madman [in Arrival of Princess]. His character would even fart at me and [co-star] Chen Fala's faces in the show." she said between giggles.

Despite the record-breaking ratings of Beyond the Realm of Conscience, both veteran actors appear unfazed at the impending number crunch awaiting them.

Unperturbed, Moses commented, "As long as we are happy working with each other, that is all that matters - as long as it is fun!"

With Valentine's Day round the corner, we questioned both artistes on their rumoured longtime squeezes and fellow TVB colleagues, Bernice Liu and Kevin Cheng.

While Charmaine was more upfront and candid about her ongoing rumours with Kevin, as she believed the "very helpful and timely" rumours gave a hand in promoting Beyond the Realm of Conscience, Moses, on the other hand, dropped roundabout answers.

The tall actor, deviated from the topic and instead glossed over it by saying how rare it is for Valentine's Day to coincide with the first day of the Lunar New Year and wished for all couples in the world to have a "happy reunion."

He only started to open up when reporters threw him non-romantic topics such as his keen interest in coffee.

"Yes [I hope to open up my own coffee store] and I really do hope to have my own coffee brand. I am thinking about it every single second. I'm serious!" Moses earnestly shared.

Charmaine chimed in response to her co-actor's claim and wisecracked, "Ah Mo coffee?"

Catch both Charmaine and Moses on the telecast of the StarHub TVB Awards on VV Drama (StarHub TV Channel 55) at 7.45pm on 14 February.

Jacky Cheung is willing to participate in one combined music award ceremony

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Jacky Cheung has been the first artist to break TVB’s “monopoly” on exclusivity with HK’s singers. Not only did he accept an interview with ATV last month, he will also be making a musical special for ATV this week that will air on Chinese New Year / Valentine’s Day. At the same time, Jacky continues to reprimand TVB for not having any respect for music in Hong Kong, which contributes to the general public’s lack of respect for copyrights in music.

Jacky has indicated that he agrees with having 1 combined music award ceremony (as opposed to the 4 that HK currently has). Though Jacky has expressed long ago that he will no longer compete for awards in the music industry or “participate” in music awards ceremonies, he said that if the one ceremony concept does take place, he is definitely interested in participating to show his support.

Yesterday, Jacky accepted an interview with Metro Radio station. He admitted that this week, he will be filming an interview-style musical special for ATV. In terms of RTHK (government radio station) suggesting that next year’s music awards shows be combined into one, Jacky highly agreed: “The fact that RTHK is willing to consider this is a good thing. There are a lot of organizations out there that are unwilling to talk about it, mention it, or even think about it – so RTHK is very brave and respectable for suggesting it.” Actually, more than 10 years ago, Jacky had already made the suggestion of combining the music awards ceremonies into one, but at that time, it did not materialize. Jacky feels that back then, the timing wasn’t right, but now, the situation with the music industry has changed drastically – albums no longer earn money, so perhaps various organizations would be more willing now to combine one award ceremony, since there would be less conflict of interest in terms of money. Even if it ends up taking several years (for this to happen), it would still be worth it.

Jacky also expressed that he is interested in participating in a “combined” award ceremony: “Having the same standards and rules would allow music fans to clearly know which singer(s) or which song(s) were truly ‘good’ in a particular year and the tolerance level of the award show would be higher. After combining the award ceremonies, the competition would be greater – I would also be more interested in participating…even if I’m not in the running for any awards, I would still like to participate in the ceremony itself and go support it…hopefully, it does happen!” Jacky also encouraged people working in HK’s music industry to elevate the quality in music so that fans of music will have confidence in and respect the industry – this would hopefully alleviate the problem of consumers not wanting to pay money to buy HK music because the quality is so bad.

In the interview, Jacky also reprimanded TVB for not respecting the music industry: “Sales of record albums declining is no surprise; but in Japan’s music industry, 80% of the revenue comes from legal sales of music over the internet – songs are ‘bought’ not ‘taken.’ Hong Kong has a such a huge market for music, yet all the illegal downloading that takes place is such a shame. Education by the government and the media is very important. For instance, during last years HK Film Awards, Justin Lo was already told to stop before he even opened his mouth to sing – this is very disrespectful to singers. If the media outlets don’t even respect music, how can we expect the general public to respect it? If you are going to do a musical variety show, then you should respect the ‘completeness’ of songs….if you are not able to air the entire song, then say so – we can always do a special 1 ½ minute version of the song to air. Creation of a song involves hard work from a lot of people – by only being able to sing 1 line of a song, nobody knows what the song is about or the significance of the lyrics. If there is no ‘heart’ for music, then why produce a ‘music’ show? Filming TV series and doing game shows are already able to bring in revenue…there is no need to do a music show…if you are going to do one, then please respect the singers. Educating [the public] is a collaborative effort – only in this way will the Hong Kong music industry change for the better.” Jacky also lamented that the HK music industry has been a disaster for a long time already. He hopes that HK’s music fans can take the lead in improving the music industry and hopefully it will have a positive effect on Taiwan’s and China’s music industries as well.

Raymond Lam on his relationship with Linda Chung: We are not in contact

Tuesday, February 02, 2010 Posted by Admin 0 comments
Ever since their famed collaboration as onscreen sweethearts in the epic Heart of Greed and Moonlight Resonance, the media has been abuzz over Raymond Lam's relationship with his co-star, Linda Chung. Previously rumoured to have spent two years pursuing her, Raymond puts his foot down and clears the air.

"We are not in contact," he flatly replied with a smile.

When reporters asked if he would like to experience an exciting romance this year, Raymond laughed and said, "Saying that makes me want to sigh."

"It is actually very normal for young people to be in a relationship. But all these media attention adds on additional stress. I try to immerse myself in work so that I do not have time to think about this (romance)."

Also present at the interview is Hong Kong TVB actress Chen Fala, 28. As Raymond's colleague and co-star in Moonlight Resonance, she nodded in agreement and believes that it is best "to leave things in the hands of fate" as such matters "cannot be forced".

With a busy schedule ahead for him (filming for his new movie will commence on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year), Raymond revealed that he has no special plans in store for the upcoming Valentine's Day. Instead, the tall, dark, charming one would like to "hang out with friends for a meal" and "catch up on sleep" as he foresees many sleepless nights ahead of him when work begins.

As an established actor with a blossoming singing career, Raymond was previously touted by the press to be the top earning male TVB artist for 2009. He sheepishly confessed that he has no knowledge of this piece of news although he admits that his earnings "have increased as compared to previous years".

Explaining himself, the 31-year-old said, "In 2009, I was more focused on being a singer. A singer's time is more flexible and that provided me with more time to earn extra money. I do hope that my earnings will continue to increase this year too."

Spurred on by Raymond's words, Fala jested and revealed her plans to work hard and "earn as much money as him". The budding actress believes that nothing else is more important to her than work now.

With no concrete plans to make a music debut, Fala expressed her hesitance on being tasked with such a humongous responsibility. The nubile actress believes that singing is an entirely different thing from acting and feels that "she is not at that stage yet".

Contrary to what she said, Raymond believes that Fala "has a really great voice" and thinks that she should have an album of her own. He even expressed interest in collaborating with her in the near future.

"You can't make any NGs when you're singing live. When you're acting, NGs are acceptable. I have to prepare myself properly first from my technique to my style," Fala logically explained.

Fala Chen did not deny the rumor that she is married

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Fala Chen and Daniel Sit, son of Newry's boss have been dating very low key for 4 years. There are rumors recently that they were secretly married in a registry office in America. Yesterday when the reporter asked her if the rumor is true? She said she has the responsibility to protect the people around her. She didn't want to discuss her private life in public. Nevertheless, she did not deny the rumor.

Last Christmas, Fala told reporter her parents were coming over from America to meet her boyfriend. The media was speculating that they were in fact married and they both wore similar wedding ring. There were also rumors that Fala introduced her "husband" to TVB executive Virginia Lok.

The reporter approached Miss Lok to ascertain the fact. Miss Lok smiled "Married" is good news, but if it is true, it would be announced. It hasn't happened yet." Miss Lok said Fala has been busy working , and she often sees her in her office to discuss about few TV series that TVB wants her to do. Miss Lok was asked if it was true that Fala introduced Daniel to her as her "husband"? Miss Lok said "If Fala wanted to introduce him to me, she wouldn't bring him into TVB city, we would be having dinner out together."

Miss Lok went on to say she has met Daniel a long time ago. He is the town's diamond bachelor and she met him in one of those functions. Therefore, there was no need for Fala to bring him to TVB. Miss Lok said she would not comment on Fala's relationship with Daniel. She added that Fala is a very professional artist, and she works very hard. Fala doesn't want people to talk about her private love affairs. Reporter asked whether she is opposed of artist dating? Miss Lok replied "How can I oppose artist dating? It is a natural thing to do. They prefer to be low key, quite rightly too, as work comes first and you shouldn't keep talking about dating all the time."
