There was a rumor that Bosco Wong once wooed after Toby Leung, but because he failed, thus he returned to coax Myolie Wu back.

Today, Bosco attended the National Day Celebration show in Macau, and said in exasperation, "It's old news. Back then, when I was filming a drama with Toby, we already had rumors. Now, the rumors are starting again. I'm good friends with both ladies."

Tony Leung's Injury Has Recovered, Begins Training Wing Chun

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Already eight years in the making, Wong Kar Wai's 'The Grand Master' will officially start filming in November. As Tony had broke his arm training for the movie, filming was delayed for two months while he recovered. Earlier on, Tony began training anew and has fully immersed himself into martial arts again. Even the Wing Chun masters who have been training Tony have praised his understanding and skill in Wing Chun. Tony is preparing to film 'The Grand Master' in his best form.

Does Light Exercises While Recovering

Tony's been training at the martial arts school under the guidance of Master Yip Siu Hung and his disciples. While he had to stop training during his recovery period, Tony was still able to do light exercises. He says that kung fu training is something you can never get enough of anyway. Tony expressed that the past two months have been like an extended holiday. His doctor had strongly advised him to wait at least three months before doing any vigorous activity. After resting for a few weeks, he began exercising again to keep his body in shape. Everyday he'll run for one or two hours. He also arranged for one-handed fitness sessions at the gym to keep his arms and legs in shape. In order to keep his arm immobile while running, he had to bandage it tightly to prevent any movement. Whenever he saw people on the streets, they would kindly ask him how his recovery was going and reminded him to be more careful.

Best Actor to Play Yip Man

Master Leung has been very satisfied with Tony's performance. He especially admired Tony's 'never give up' attitude. He has high hopes for Tony in the role of Yip Man. He believes Tony's spirit, appearance and comprehension is very similar to Master Yip Man and is the ideal candidate to play him.

Ang Lee Looks Forward to Tony Leung's Yip Man

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Ang Lee's 'Taking Woodstock' screened in Hong Kong for the first time the day before yesterday. Attendees at the premiere included Tony Leung, who had earlier broken his left arm practicing Wing Chun while preparing to film Wong Kar Wai's 'The Grand Master'. As for his thoughts on the disappointing box office results for his film, Ang Lee says he doesn't have an answer for it and doesn't find it necessary to look for one either. Instead, he greatly praised Tony as an actor and looks forward to his portrayal of Yip Man.

Ang Lee's 'Taking Woodstock' screened the night before yesterday at The Grand Cinema. Karena Lam, Jacqueline Chong, Chrissie Chow and Chin Ka Lok attended the screening. As well, Tony Leung, who had collaborated with Ang Lee in 'Lust, Caution' also came to the screening. When Ang Lee saw Tony, he immediately approached him and gave him a hug. The two conversed with each other quite animately. Were they talking about plans for another collaboration? Tony laughs saying he doesn't know the chances of working with him in the future, as Ang Lee has been concentrating on Western (Hollywood) films. Tony admits that he came to the screening to support Ang Lee. He says: "I met Ang Lee back during the Cannes Festival. The movie played at there, but I had other committments that day so I couldn't attend. Tonight will hopefully make up for it."

Proud of New Film, Not Worrying About the Box Office Results

As for failing to achieve ideal ratings at the box office? Tony says: "It's hard to say. For me, making a movie is all about enjoying the process. The most important thing is being happy and excited about the movie itself. The box office results and the audiences' reception is hard to predict. If it does well at the box office and the audience enjoys it, then that's really a bonus." Ang Lee says he doesn't feel the need to inquire as to why the movie failed at the box office. He says that: "I personally think the film is very good and I'm proud of this film. I don't know if it lack the spark to captivate the audience. I hope my next movie will be better."

How about Tony acting in 'The Grand Master'? Ang Lee says Tony has the ability to play any role because he's the best actor out there. He believes Tony's Yip Man will be different from Donnie Yen's version. He says: "I'm looking forward to it, especially because Wong Kar Wai is directing the movie and Yuen Woo Ping is in charge of the martial arts choreography."

As for Tony who broke his left arm while preparing to film 'The Grand Master', he says that his injury has almost completely healed. What about the reports that Zhang Ziyi will be playing the role of his wife? Tony says he doesn't know as he hasn't received any news on that front. Is she suitable for the role of Yip Man's wife? Tony says: "It's not really about whether she's suitable or not. Different people in the role will produce different results."

No Plans in the Works to Collaborate with Zhang Ziyi Again

Ang Lee attended a lecture yesterday at a university campus. He was very humourous with his talk and earned a huge round of applause from the students. Later backstage he accepted an interview and revealed that the audiences' reaction at the first screening was quite good, better than in the States. Will he collaborate again with Zhang Ziyi? He says that right now there are no plans, but the two often keep in touch. When asked whether Ang Lee is aware of Zhang Ziyi's current relationship status and of whether or not her relationship with her boyfriend has changed? Ang Lee says that he has never asked her about her relationship. He laughs saying that every time his sees her out in public she is dressed very elegantly and has become quite sophisticated. It's very different than what he remembered when they met for the first time.

Danny Chan exhibition

Posted by Admin 0 comments
An exhibition to commemorate Danny Chan's 30th anniversary in showbiz was held in Sheung Wan. Guests for the opening ceremony included super fan Miriam.

Danny's albums, awards, daily necessities, and precious birth certificate were exhibited, but due to privacy, no photography was allowed.

Miriam sponsored the audio for the exhibition. She said she was influenced by her idol and fell in love with purple colour and drinking champagne. Danny's looks had been her criteria for looking for partner. Does her husband Real look like Danny? Miriam said, "A bit, Mr Ting has single eyelid, small eyes. But idol is still idol."

Miriam couldn't forget the experience of star-chasing when she was still schooling. She tried skipping class to chase idol. Due to financial limitation, she would bring a recorder to record songs during concerts but had also bought one or two albums. She was most happy to listen about life stories of her idol from Paco Wong, and learnt that Danny's character was low profile, has good temperament, emotional and liked drinking champagne during recording. Did she influence Real to like Danny also? "He has to accept this about me. But he likes Jacky Cheung, Leon Lai, Wang Li-hom and knows how to sing their songs. But he never listen to my songs."

Leila, who has been working out in the gym in secret for two years, found that Bonald Leung is shy and weak while they were singing a love duet. She actually volunteered to train Bonald in the gym. Although Leila is full of passion, Bonald is actually better interms of stamina and waist strength. This made Leila, the “fake trainer”, feels very disappointed. She said, “The difference can immediately be seen when it comes to shooting basketballs! I feel so inferior. Never mind! Guys and girls are different so I won’t blame myself.” She even revealed that there are lots of funny stuff going on when they were recording. “Because I treat him as a younger brother, it is really a joke when we had to sing a love duet. I can’t help but laugh whenever we sing and I won’t dare to look at him in the eyes when we perform next time!”

Leila works out at the gym secretly, making her body contours even better

Bonald is really good at the hoops machine and Leila is upset that she’s not as good

Leila, with her position as a senior, teaches Bonald how to exercise

Bonald pulls his ears to appease his senior

Leila Tong, who has a great interest in singing all along, sang a duet with Bonald Leung recently. In order to perform in the best shape, Leila, using the ‘trainer’ identity, brought Bonald to the gym to train. However, she then realised that her exercising cells are not as strong as Bonald’s, making her really embarrassed.

In these two years, Leila has been training in the gym secretly. Apart from making her body shape even better, she also hopes that this can help to train her lungs in order to venture into the music industry in the future. Having released an album of her own, Leila recently sang a love duet with Bonald Leung. She even revealed that there were lots of funny things going on when she was recording with Bonald. She said,”I treat him as my younger brother, thus it’s really funny that we have to sing a love duet and I can’t hold my laughter every time. When we sing the next time, I won’t dare to look at him in the eyes, just in case it becomes funny and that won’t be good!”

Feeling inferior due to bad skills

Leila feels that Bonald is shy and weak, thus she used her status as a senior to bring this little brother to work in the gym. However, when they were playing the basketball machine, Leila realised that her junior’s exercise cells were better than hers, making her really embarrased. Leila said, “When we were doing warm ups and working on the machines, I was still teaching him very well. However, when it comes to the basketball machine, the difference can be seen and his stamina is much better than me. I really feel very inferior! But it’s okay, guys and girls are different so I won’t blame myself.”

Seeing how depressed his senior looked, Bonald immediately sweettalked her, making her smile again, “You are still more capable, I still have lots of things to learn from you.”

Tavia Yeung unofficial "TV Queen" to the Public, pushes back "4th Mistress gang"

Posted by Admin 0 comments
It was said that in last year's TVB anniversary award ceremony, TVB gave he TV King and Queen title to Ha Yu and Michelle Yim, these two "elders". Although on the surface, the two winners did receive strong support from the audience, but it also proves that TVB really follows public opinion, but letting TVB's "biological son and daughters" like Raymond Lam lose out? That is definitely not what TVB wanted. Just like this year, for the most popular series "Rosy Business", TVB will not be the most generous one to just give out the award to them, therefore they came up with a plan to push Charmaine Sheh and Tavia Yeung into the battle. If the anniversary series gets good feedback, this will fulfill TVB's wish on letting their "biological sons and daughters" win the awards, quite reasonable. They will not let audience criticize them again for being unfair.

Among all the TVB biological children, Tavia Yeung won the "Best Female Supporting" award depending on her role in Moonlight Resonances. According to the HK media, Tavia got this award because of her good acting skills, her audience fate and the most important thing is that she's obedient with the TVB executives praising her. Also in the last two years, the TV Queens were "old veterans" Louise Lee and Susanna Kwan, TVB executives felt that this year they should have a younger FaDan get the award, giving Tavia Yeung a chance. After "Rosy Business" finale, TVB scheduled all Tavia's series in which she played the female lead to broadcast after, including "Sweetness In the Salt" and the promising "Beyond the Realm of Conscience".

About Tavia from an Insider

The HK media quoted an insider: "TVB wanted Tavia to win this year, so they especially created a role for her, turning her generous character into a villain. In the upcoming series 'Beyond', Tavia's role started off generous and for the last half of the series, she will become seriously evil. Tavia knows that TVB is giving her an opportunity to rise to the top, so she work her hardest to portray the character. She got so into her acting that her eyes even popped out, stealing the spotlight from the other female lead Charmaine Sheh. Even veterans Michelle Yim, Susan Tse and Susanna Kwan could not pass her. Actually the cast from this series knew that TVB wanted to heavily support Tavia Yeung this year. I heard that after the executives saw the recording after filming, they praised Tavia's acting. So after this series broadcast, Tavia should be able to make it up top!"

Getting great support and praises from TVB executives and veterans

In the series Tavia plays Yiu Kam Ling and will be palace maids with Lau Sam Ho (Charmaine Sheh); they are also very 'good sisters'. Later when Tavia was chosen by the Emperor (Moses Chan) to be a concubine, but his heart was still set on Charmaine, causing Tavia to get jealous and turn evil. In the end, because of her evil deeds, she was able to become the Empress. Susanna who had collaborated with Tavia several times said: "In this series, Tavia really put in a lot of effort in protraying this role, she brought out her evilness very well, so I feel that she does have a great chance in this year's awards." '3rd Mistress' from Rosy Business Kara Hui also voted for Tavia: "She told us all several times that we won't die well, when she said that in the series her eye contact was so terrifying, a killer stare. I was frightened by it. This year, I support both Sheren and Tavia."

Charmaine Sheh - the greatest support

But the greatest support was from the other female lead from this series Charmaine (Ah Sheh). Because she already knew earlier that Tavia was getting pushed for "TV Queen", Ah Sheh was willing to make way for her. Earlier it was rumored that Charmaine was also TVB's target for this year's TV Queen candidate, essentially this was only to get the public's attention. Earlier Charmaine was asked about the rumors about Tavia getting crowned this year? Currently at a higher status, but still declared her support, Charmaine said: "It's good! We had sparks while we were filming together." But when asked if she has confidence to get the award, Charmaine then said: "let nature take its course!" Obviously she's giving it to Tavia.

TVB pushes out 6 more FaDans to compete with Sheren Tang for TV Queen

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Tavia Yeung expected to intercept Sheren Tang

TVB's 42nd Annivesary 2009 has been a hot topic among Netizens on who will be the new TV King and Queen. It was said that "4th Mistress" Sheren Tang will get the title of TV Queen, so far that is the only hot favorite. In order to change the "wind", TVB decided to push back the award ceremony from November to December, so that the two anniversary series "Beyond the Realm of Conscience" and "Born Rich" could have a chance. TVB is strongly pushing female leads Charmaine Sheh, Tavia Yeung, Michelle Yim, Anita Yuen, Kenix Kwok and Jamie Chik to compete with Sheren, lowering her chances of winning.

Depending on her role as "4th Mistress" in "Rosy Business", Sheren has won the applause and strong support from the audience. Just two months left before the anniversary award ceremony, there still aren't enough female leads popular enough to compete with Sheren. It was rumored that this is the reason why TVB decided to push back the award ceremony allowing the two anniversary series that will broadcast on October 19th to get a chance in the nominations. With the two anniversary series up on the competition, it will be a competition filled with Stars! Originally it was just Sheren in the race with a great chance of winning, but now with the new competitors, will her chances decrease dramatically?

The HK media did some research, asking 50 citizens on who they support for this year's award winners, does Sheren have the highest chance? The results of the survey found that 40% of the respondents felt that Sheren's chance of winning is "critical" because the one series that had been dominating the year, ended up being a 3 series competition, making it much more intense than how it was before. Respondents also felt that this is really TVB's "killer" plan.

As for "Beyond" and "Born Rich" are both the anniversary series, 80% of the respondents supported this because the series this year were all quite light-hearted, it was only "Rosy Business" and "E.U." that was more intense and had more discussions. Audience felt that during the anniversary period, there should be series that are "more watchable" and also felt that the more intense the award competition is the more interesting it will be. However, they did not agree to pushing back the anniversary award ceremony because afterall November has always been the tradition and the target date for the celebration, instead why not broadcast the two anniversary series at an earlier date?

27 official complaints on Fala Chen's bra scene; Producer Amy Wong responds

Posted by Admin 0 comments
The Broadcast Authority (BA) received 26 complaints on Fala Chen's "take off clothes and showing bra" scene; TVB received 1 complaint.

Although TVB had a complaint that the scene was not appropriate to be broadcast on television, but there are also supporters saying that the scene was reasonable and went along with the story. In the series, Fala misunderstood that Timmy Hung was gay, therefore it was reasonable that Fala treated him as a brother and does not need to avoid him while changing.

"The Stew of Life" Producer Amy Wong felt surprised by audience complaints. She said that Fala's changing scene does not intend to convey bad or immoral behavior, the public is just overreacting. Amy also expressed that there is no difference if they changed the setting to a beach where swimsuits are revealed before they get into the water.

Amy expressed that before doing this scene, she had done all her research. Gay men treat their opposite sex friends like sisters. The scene was arranged for this series because it is a comedy and should have some comedic effect. In the series, Fala misunderstood that Timmy is gay, the two become close friends. Amy understands that parents are worried, thinking that the scene should teach little girls how to protect themselves instead, but the series did display a "PG" rating before the episode started. Parents can still explain to their children on the actual content.

Ekin went on to say Fala wore bikini in the beauty pageant before. The reporter asked if Yoyo did that in the TV series, is it acceptable? Kate Tsui fast song performance gets off key, messes up on words and ran out of breath

Friday, October 02, 2009 Posted by Admin 0 comments
Yesterday Kate Tsui was a guest performer for the "Metro's 18 Star Charity", doing a fast song and dance performance. In the 7 minutes, she performed two fast songs, but she went off key, messed up on the words and even lost her breathe the more she sang.

Kate helplessly said afterwards: "Takes up a lot of strength! First time performing the songs, I'm so nervous, when I was singing I had to keep on dancing and remember the steps, no time to take a breath.

Asked if she felt that her performance was not that good? Kate said: "I don't know. I have to re-watch the recording and then examine it." She admits that when she's singing she seems to not have enough air. It has always been a question to the public on if Kate is really suitable to sing fast songs because singing fast songs while dancing need to cut down on the nervousness. If she had to sing two songs for her performance, one slow and one fast would be a better combination.

Complaints on Fala Chen "take off clothes" showing bra scene, bad influence on children

Posted by Admin 0 comments
HK newspaper companies received complaints yesterday from readers on "The Stew of Life", the scene where Charlie (Fala Chen) changes in front of Ryan (Timmy Hung) revealing her bra for more than 30 seconds. Complaints stated that TVB randomly shows such scene and is a bad influence on children. The complainted over the phone to the newspapers: "That is ridiculous! Before they already had sex in the car scenes and now they're doing this! This scene does not need an explanation, it is obviously done intentionally to increase the ratings. Kids who watches this need to wash their eyes after!" Reader Mrs. Wong expressed that the scene could be improved by showing only half of her body, there is no need to have Fala reveal her chest area.

As the series is broadcast during family hours, there are many Netizens online leaving messages on discussion forums saying that Fala was brave, the majority of them were shocked to see Fala do something like that. Others say that the scene was redundant, it was really not necessary to have Fala reveal her undergarment, it is a bad influence on children, parents should complain to the Broadcast Authority!

Yesterday reporters contacted Erica Yuen about the issue, she said directly that TVB has no scale at all: "Huh? Of course I haven't seen it, but the content is not the same as wearing a bikini! Is it necessary for that scene? But 'Beautiful Cooking' is also offensive! They (TVB) definitely have no scale at all!" Speaking of the episode was broadcast during family hours, she said: "What kind of scene would that be necessary? She took off so much, showing her bra, it's so obviously their selling sex! Maybe its because of Fala who wanted to use this selling point!"

Fala was at the promotion for "The Stew of Life" yesterday and when speaking of that scene and how she was so brave to do it, she said: "Because the series is a comedy, so the scale is a little more relaxed. When I was filming that scene, I was afraid that scene wouldn't be able to get broadcast! The producer told me that it's nothing, pretend its a bikini!" She stressed that it will be her only time this will happen.

Asked if she would accepted "Lust. Custion" standards? She said: "Of course not! The most I could reveal is my back. If I have to reveal bikini, then that is a definite no. Revealing the back is very sexy, but there definitely needs to be a bottom line!"

Also, Fala expressed that the bra she was wearing for the scene was her personal one. It was used because she felt that wearing her own one would feel more comfortable during filming, no need to deliberately do certain angles. Asked why she has a 'taking off clothes' scene? She said: "Originally the script had that in there already, actually the Director was very careful. Before we started filming, he gave me a towel to cover up!" In the future, will she do something even more daring? She said: "No more. This is the bottom line to TV series!"

Nancy Wu, Yumiko Cheng almost exposes themselves during performance

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Yesterday was the 60th China Anniversary, the locals were celebrating the holiday. Yesterday Hong Kong and Macau opened a show to celebrate the hoilday, inviting many different singers and artistes. Guest performers that attended includes: Joey Yung, Leo Ku, Charlene Choi, Yumiko Cheng, Myolie Wu, Bosco Wong, Nancy Wu and Matthew Ko.

Nancy and Matthew performed Latin dance, taking on challenging steps which lead to suspicions that there was exposure on the legs. Later, Nancy denied and expressed that she did her safety precautions. Previously exposed herself twice in performances, Yumiko Cheng performed a hot dance song, and almost did it again. Wearing a tube top, perhaps its because her costume was too heavy, so when she was dancing it was slipping, extremely embarrassing. Fortunately Yumiko quickly noticed, immediately used her hands hold onto it, not letting exposure happen again.

Joey Yung wants break too

The other day, Ah Sa fainted at home and expressed that she hopes to take a long break from work. Her 'big sister' from the same company Joey Yung also expressed that after she completes her 10th anniversary concert, she can get a good rest as well. But she believes that there will not be an opportunity because she just accepted a new advertisement in Japan, the schedule is tight. It was said that she was scheduled to fly over to the airport for her flight early in the morning, then do filming for 10+ hours every day after. But no matter what, she will still take some time off to go on a shopping spree in Japan. She rather just sleep when she's flying back. Joey also said that she is more miserable then Ah Sa, have to sing and film. She said that she's getting old, her strength is not as good as before. Joey hopes that her company could lend a helping hand in coordinating her schedule to allow more rest time. She felt that this would help her do better in her jobs.

Joe Ma, Raymond Lam & Yoyo Mung visited care home for old people

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Joe Ma, Raymond Lam and Yoyo Mung visited an old people's home in Tin Tsui Wai yesterday. They went there to distribute fruits and mooncakes to the old people. One old man was so touched that he bursted in tears, and he kept thanking them for the visit. The three stayed to watch the old people's performance and was asked to sing Chinese opera with them. As Raymond and Yoyo are not very familiar with Chinese opera, Joe Ma sang on their behalf and got a big round of applaud. Jo also took that opportunity to publicize his new TVB series "Born Rich" commencing next week. He even asked the old people to support the series. As the three of them had to work afterwards, they only stayed there for a short time. Jo was very happy to see the old people enjoying themselves. He disclosed that he cares about the old people's welfare. This is because his wife is doing a course on elderly people at the University of Hong Kong and he is influenced by her.
