Saturday, October 06, 2012 Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments

Austin Wai has been in over 70 films and countless martial arts TV series. A few days ago, he was found dead in his home in Beijing, he was 55. His younger sister, Kara Hui, had always been in touch with him by phone, but lately she lost contact with him.

As everything was so sudden, Kara was initially shooting her last scene in the series she had been working on in Hangzhou, but experiencing the lost of a loved one, Kara immediately stopped work and flew to Beijing to see her brother. Yesterday afternoon at 2pm, Kara appeared at the Beijing airport. She said sobbing: "I'm not going to hotel yet, going to the mortuary to see my brother first. I hope all the formalities will be done today. My sister and I hope to ship our brother's body back to HK, but if the Beijing authorities want us to first cremate the body, we will comply. Actually my brother's children really wants to see their father for the last time too and they will decide the funeral arrangements."

Austin's death is still a mystery, Kara was asked if she knew the cause of his death? She said: "I know he had gone too far with losing weight. He had been over exercising and eating very little. Perhaps he's body couldn't handle it anymore!" Asked if her mother knows about Austin's death? Kara said: "Not yet, we don't want to break her heart!"

In fact, in the past six months before Austin's death, he often made weight loss declarations on Weibo. He hoped to quickly lose 10 pounds within half a month. In May, he already lost 20 pounds, and posted pictures of his vegetarian light meal.

Ronald Cheng impersonates Aaron Kwok to prank Lynn Xiong

Friday, October 05, 2012 Posted by Admin 0 comments

Lynn Xiong (Hung Doi Lam) in LOVE IN PAJAMAS (NAM YUN YU YI FOK) played a successful fashion design business woman. Originally her character had to be very solemn and serious, but in front of the comedy expert Teresa Mo Shun Kwan she often could not help but laugh.

Aside from facing Sister Mo's comical nature, Hung Doi Lam also had to handle Ronald Cheng Chung Kei's suddenly improvisation. She pointed out that Cheng Chung Kei often imitated Aaron Kwok Fu Sing's dance steps in front of her, which gave Lynn a very hard time with holding back her laughter. "I have worked with Cheng Chung Kei for several times already, each time he would keep making everyone laugh. Even if he zipped up his mouth, I could not help but laugh. Maybe his comical nature has already completely been absorbed into every part of his body." Cheng Chung Kei also admitted that he was deliberately setting her up. "Hung Doi Lam's Cantonese has improved a lot. This time she had the courage completely to speak it. I feel she is getting funnier and funnier, so I really like to prank her. I would mention Kwok Fu Sing with everything, like at the press conference when someone asked what kind of men she liked. I would answer for her before she could, 'No one here is right, only Kwok Fu Sing is right!' Ha ha!"

Wai Ying Hung confirms Austin Wai's Passing

Posted by Admin 0 comments

Working in the Mainland in recent years, action star Austin Wai Tin Chi's sister Wai Ying Hung yesterday confirmed his death in Beijing at the age of 55. Siu Hung posted in memory of her brother, "I am very sad, very sad!", "Brother farewell!", "Farewell, miss you!" Then when reporters contacted Siu Hung, she said that because she could not find her brother for a few days she contacted her manager to check up on him at his Beijing home. After opening the door her brother was found dead. She still had no idea what happened. This morning she flew to Beijing to find out.

As for his last online update, it took place on the 21st. He wrote, "It's not that I am not updating my microblog. Lately I haven't been feeling well. First I have been seeing a doctor for arthritis for a month and a half, then persistent coughing. First I went to see Respiratory Medicine Department, then the Endocrinology Department, even Ear, Nose and Throat Department conducted numerous exams. Finally it wasn't anything. I went to the drug store to pick up a five day regiment. I was much better after two days. I was so mad."

John Chiang Dai Wai was shocked to hear about the passing. Although Siu Sei joined the business later than he did, they have worked together. When he directed he asked Siu Sei to be the action director, so they were familiar. Lately they have been busy and had less contact. He regretted that Siu Sei would pass away at such a young age. Chik Mei Chun and Michael Miu Kiu Wai often worked with Siu Sei at TVB. Sam Gor even played soccer with Siu Sei so they were very familiar. Chik Mei Chun was shaken and teary eyed when she said, "In the past 8 or 10 years we had less contact. I think we went to work in the Mainland. Sam Gor probably hasn't heard the news yet. It's very surprising." In addition, Joey Yung Cho Yi's assistant Sandy is Wai Tin Chi's sister. Emperor manager Mani Fok Man Hei was very surprised to learn about Siu Sei's death. She originally wanted to contact Sandy right away but did not dare to because she felt she would bother her at this time; later she will call to see if she will need any assistance. The company will give her time off.

Wai Tin Chi was born in Hong Kong in 1957. A descendant of the Manchurian Plain Yellow Banner, he was the fourth child in the family and thus called Siu Sei. He was Wai Ying Hung's older brother. When he was little his father was swindled had to declare bankruptcy. His family was poor, he once studied Beijing opera at the Chun Chau Opera Academy and a disciple under famous actress Fun Kuk Fa. He began his film career in his teens and worked on many martial art and action films like HEAVEN SWORD AND DRAGON SABRE PART II (YI TIN DOH LUNG GEI DAI GEI GUK) and FULL MOON SCIMITAR (YUET YUEN WAN DOH). In the 80s he joined TVB and made mostly costume martial art series like THE LEGEND OF THE CONDOR HEROES (SEH DIU YING HUNG JUEN), THE FOUNDATION (KUET JIN YUEN MO MOON), THE RETURN OF LUK SIU FUNG (LUK SIU FUNG ji FUNG MO GAU TIN) and others. Recently he eased out of show business into business, occasionally he would guest star in movies. Wai Tin Chi had two marriages that both ended in divorce. In 1996 he wed female artist Ban Ban and had one son. In 2001 they announced their divorce.

William Chan's show of force alerts the Police

Posted by Admin 0 comments

Emperor Motion Picture TRIAD (JAT JIK) got first dibs on the Wise Guy remake trend, as William Chan Wai Ting, Derek Tsang Kwok Cheung, Edward Chui Woai Tung turned into a new generation of Wise Guys and added a bloody storm to the mob. Because the film had plenty of "show of strength" scene, over 100 extras were used earlier. In one scene over 100 people in black with wood in their hands stepped in the busy streets. Pedestrians misunderstood them for the real mob and called the police. Finally actual police patrol arrived. Chan Wai Ting praised how invested the production was in the film. He said, "the show of force scene had so many extras, the pressure during the shoot was enormous since one bad take would lead to another shoot with 100 people. Before hand we would rehearse a few times, hoping that during the official shoot we could get it in just one take."

Aside from alerting the authorities, even real Wise Guys thought another group was "taking over". However when they saw Chan Wai Ting they knew it was just a movie shoot. They even praised the actors as convincing. The shaken Chui Woai Tung said, "Seeing the real mobsters, I was afraid that they would drive us away. Thus during the shoot I was a little scared, luckily they only watched a little and left."

Aaron Kwok and Tony Leung Ka Fai compete for another Best Actor Award together

Posted by Admin 0 comments

Tony Leung Kai Fai and Aaron Kwok Fu Sing worked together on the Johnnie To Kei Fung film THROW DOWN (YAU DOH LUNG FU BONG), At the 2005 Golden Horse Award and 2006 Hong Kong Film Award they competed. Finally Sing Sing won the Golden Horse Best Actor while Ka Fai won the Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor, an even split of sorts!

Speaking of first meeting, Leung Ka Fai who had an earlier start in the film industry admitted that when he first saw Sing Sing jump from music to movies he was upset. Ka Fai said, "When he joined the film industry, he already was the king of dance. At the time I thought why would he stick his foot in here, don't come to the film industry to 'hit soy sauce', just do what he was good it. Later I discovered how much variety he had in his role selection. Some were even very difficult. He would take some alternative films. I slowly understood that he truly wanted to be a good actor, he wanted to achieve something in film and was an outstanding actor who had a goal. How can I not silently support and encourage him!"

Just the opposite, Sing Sing's impression of Ka Fai has never changed from the start. Sing Sing said, "If everyone looked back at the interviews years ago, they would discover the years ago I already said that Ka Fai is an actor I really like. I feel that he is a natural born actor with a charisma. When the film company told me that this time my COLD WAR (HONG JIN) co-star was him, I really couldn't be happier. Working with him could trigger a tremendous explosion."

Aside from explosion, Leung Ka Fai even joked that they had a chemistry that came within. They did not say much and would already coincidentally did their best with a good script. They would not steal scenes, fight over scenes, they were good partners that put people's minds at ease.

Since they appreciated each other so much, a good question arose. Once film award rivals, if they competed again with the new film who would win? Leung Ka Fai's answer was the most centered. "If it really happens, from a fairness angle I would feel I shouldn't win, he shouldn't win either. The best would be both winning it together. We even have to hold hands to accept it. That can increase our future collaboration chances because directors may have fantasies about us and want to use us again. Then we can compete in another film." Sing Sing agreed.

Linda Chung finds her 4 year long lost lookalike "brother" Wu Chun

Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments
Linda Chung and Wu Chun "looks exactly like siblings" had been a hot topic for a full four years already. Yesterday, the the 'siblings' met for the first time at the MARC BY MARC JACOBS store opening ceremony. When Linda and Wu Chun stood next to each other, they looked 90% alike. They were about the same height, had the same sharp face shape, high nose and small lips. The only difference was Wu Chun was darker than Linda. Linda, nicknamed 'Wu Chun's female version', laughed in excitement once she saw her 'brother'. She gave him a cake to celebrate his birthday next week, "This has been talked about for 4 years, now we finally meet! It's just like I found my long lost brother. The bottom half of our face looks alike, for example the nose, chin and small lips. Just thinking of it makes me laugh."

Initially Linda's hair looked similar to a fringe cut and would have matched Wu Chun's hairstyle, but unfortunately her dress didn't match that hairstyle. She said, "When I was shooting A Watchdog's Tale, I had a short hair wig on, and when I was out on the street, people mistaken me for Wu Chun! I've thought of cutting my hair short too, but I was afraid I may look too much like him, so I didn't get it. Friends also think we look very much alike, even for myself, I am starting to wonder if Wu Chun's really is my long lost brother. I have to go back and ask my mom." When asked if she looks like a man then? Linda said: "Wu Chun is very handsome, resembling him is just another type of compliment." Linda wants to take pictures with Wu Chun and hopes to duet with him, in a group style. She said: "I should recommend that we portray siblings? When I see him, I may take initiative and suggest that we collaborate in something together."

Wu Chun also thinks he and Linda look alike: "We do kinda look alike. Before when I was shooting with Raymond Lam, he said we really looked alike. Ekin Cheng said the same thing. If we could play brother and sister in a movie/series in the future, that wouldn't be too bad." When speaking of Linda wanting to duet with him? Wu Chun laughed: "Waited too long because I've been acting more, if there was a film's theme song, then we could do it." Wu Chun will be turning 33 on October 10th, he expressed he'll be celebrating with his fans in Taiwan and hopes to invite the three other guys of Fahrenheit. When asked if his birthday wish is to be in a relationship? He said: "No, acting is better."

Roger Kwok Playing a Lawyer: Afraid of Memorizing Lines the Most

Posted by Admin 0 comments

Roger Kwok, Sharon Chan, Selena Li, Joyce Tang, etc. will be filming producer Lam Chi Wah's new series "Arrogant Man of Justice" next month. Playing a lawyer for the first time, Roger will use a lighthearted style to portray an 'urban, cool-toned guy'.

When Roger accepted an interview, he frankly said that he is very afraid of portraying lawyer roles because there is a lot of court dialogue to remember. He laughingly said, "Luckily, my memory is considered good. In addition, everything is digital now. It is also very easy to do editing. Before, got a lot of practice from 'Queens of Diamonds and Hearts'...was able to handle a lot of ancient dialogue, so not worried". In the series, Roger plays a melancholic, cool-toned guy. He said, "When my character speaks, there's a delay. After finishing a phrase, must think a while before saying the second phrase. In addition, would keep a distance from the people around him. What he says is very scumlike, causing people to feel utterly ashamed". Roger frankly said that many foreign films have this type of character...in the process of doing research.

When talking about this series filming in November, following the studio schedule of "Triumph in the Skies II", Roger laughingly said that he hopes that filming is on schedule and able to get off on time...take time off to accompany his son and have a party at home during Christmas holidays.

45 year old Leon Lai was dating 32 year old Gaile Lok, 15 years his junior, for five years before it was exposed in 2008 that they were secretly married in the US. Since October of last year, there were constant rumors that they were changes in their marriage. Recently the divorce rumors were getting more and more intense. The last straw was a few days ago, Gaile was photographed on a date in the Bali islands with her close friend from New Zealand (Cuz). There were also bed photos that leaked in which Gaile was seen in her underwear. Yesterday the reports dug up Leon's old rumors with Liu Yifei and Zhang Ziyi. It was also rumored Gaile was upset that Leon kept intervening with her personal life and her work. It was said their separation was mainly due to Leon's traditional beliefs. Gaile, on the other hand, grew up in the US and is used to having more freedom, therefore there were a lot of contradictions in their relationship.

Whether the rumors are true or not, [Oriental Daily] discovered Leon and Gaile have officially filed for divorce. This relationship couldn't get pass 'The 7 Year Itch'. Lately, Gaile and Leon have been busy working separately, and after negotiations, they finally break the silence.

Yesterday Leon and Gaile released a written statement through their shared management "Paciwood Music & Entertainment LTD" announcing that they are officially getting a divorce. However, they used the words "break up" to replace "divorce".

"Although they have experienced a lot of happy times together and still care for one another, both parties have very different life philosophies which resulted in serious disagreements, so after careful consideration, both parties have decided to part ways.

"Hopefully, the public can give them both some personal space in these tough times, so they can embrace their new lives as soon as possible, and continue to focus on their work," said Paciwood Music and Entertainment Ltd in its statement.

"On behalf of Ms Gaile Lok and Mr Leon Lai, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the media for their support and concern." (Source: channelnewasia.com)

Gaile's manager (Mr. Chan) expressed he felt its such a pity that the two separated, he said: "Rumors going on and on is meaningless now. Although this isn't a happy incident, it is their privacy. I don't want caring friends of Leon Lai and Ms. Lok to have too much speculation. We got their consent before releasing the statement. (When was the divorce decided?) Within the last two days." Mr. Chan expressed as their manager and friend, he doesn't hope to see them divorce, but will respect their decision. He said gratefully: "I am very familiar with both of them, they are very civilized people and can face anything calmly without anger." When asked if he has contacted Leon or Gaile? He said: "They have, after discussions, they contacted me separately. I hope they'll be happy in the future."

When asked of Leon and Gaile's whereabouts? He said Leon isn't in Beijing: "He's working at another place now. (When will he be back?) Very soon because we have a meeting." As for Gaile, earlier she told him she would be going to Bali and then to Australia to handle some personal matters.

As for the true reason for Leon and Gaile's separation? He repeated what was said on the statement: "Differences in their philosophy of life." He also does not believe there was a third party in the relationship: "What the eye sees may not be the truth. Also I didn't see or hear it. I don't think there is a third party."

Gaile responded to the news in English through Whatsapp: "All I can say is..We already separated a long time ago.. It was very hard to have to lie to everyone and keep secret from friends and outside people. I'm apologize to media and public for that.. I wish Leon happiness and he will always be family to me.. I will remain with Paciwood and Joe as my manager.."
