Niki Chow's 'Sergeant Tabloid' premieres first on Mainland website

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Niki Chow and Michael Tse's new TVB series produced by Nelson Cheung Sergeant Tabloid will not be broadcasting in Hong Kong, but is releasing overseas instead. Yesterday, there was news online that a Mainland website (PPS) will exclusively air the series on April 3rd, while Malaysia's Astro On Demand and Australia's TVBJ will air on April 2nd. It looks like Sergeant Tabloid is a pretty high quality series since TVB and overseas clients are all confident and brave enough to first do an overseas release.

This is not the first time TVB series are released earlier than HK. On Monday (4/2), HK will be airing TV King Wayne Lai and Film King Kent Cheng's 2009 produced series The Greatness of a Hero. Earlier Alex Fong and Kate Tsui's A Great Way to Care was also an overseas release before its premiere in HK. This proves TVB really does value the overseas market, scheduling new series to release faster than in HK locally.

Producer Nelson Cheung expressed: "This is TVB's arrangements. The Greatness of a Hero was also released overseas first, perhaps the overseas needs a series to fill in the time slot, so Sergeant Tabloid gets to air first. Audience overseas also have their expectations on TVB series, and TVB believes its a suitable series to air. It's not just some random series chosen to be released overseas. We already told Niki Chow and Michael Tse about this, they both asked when the series will air in HK, but that will have to be left for TVB to make further arrangements." Nelson is not worried that Sergeant Tabloid will end up being a production stuck in the bottom of the production stock, the most important is to look at if the series itself has quality. He is also not worried this will affect the ratings in the future.

Niki appreciates the overseas clients for choosing her series, that she just completed, fresh out of the oven. She heard that the overseas clients are very interested in the production and hopes to enjoy the series earlier: "I'm happy to get chosen, and I'm not afraid it will affect the HK ratings when it airs in the future. This is not the first series that was warehoused. Actually it's different watching online verses on television and also there are some differences in the two versions of the series. We should not be too worried. As an artist, I have confidence in the arrangements TVB makes, it may be possible that the series will air in HK during the summer. I personally really look forward to it because I can put down a lot of what's on my mind. I asked my police friends a lot to gain more knowledge on the role and really done my homework."

Michael is also confident and not disappointed. He happily said: "It's better than the series being on the bottom of the production stock! Of course I'm just kidding. As an artist, of course I hope my series gets broadcast as soon as possible, but not need to be upset with TVB. The most important is to have good public response, no need to worry about the future TV ratings."

Shirley Yeung greatly pressured suffers from postpartum depression

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Shirley Yeung was 2001's Miss Hong Kong, yesterday TVB hosted the Miss Hong Kong 2012 Recruit promotional event and Virgina Lok invited her to attend as well, but she turned down the offer because she was sick. Virgina had always given her full support to Shirley ever since the news broke out that Shirley was an unmarried mother. When Shirley brought her daughter with her back to HK, Virgina made a special early trip to the airport to pick her up and assisted her in handling the media. Several days after Shirley's return to HK, she had been avoiding reporters and even avoided her manager. Yesterday when Virgina mentioned Shirley's current situation, she was very worried and hoped she can get back up and face the problem, then get back to work.

Shirley has been suffering from the flu for 8 days now, Virgina invited her out for breakfast once, but she didn't go. She said she talked to Shirley over the phone, and believed she's feeling emotional, upset and may perhaps have postpartum depression. Initially, Virgina wanted to meet with her as soon as possible, so her problems could be resolved, and also discuss of her upcoming work schedule, but because of her flu, Shirley has not been back at TVB. After Virgina found out about Shirley's situation, she suggested that she go see the doctor, but she only responded that she can do that.

Virgina frankly said she is worried about Shirley, "Initially I told her to attend the event today, so she can come and out and see everyone, but she's so sick she can't get up However, her voice wasn't hoarse over the phone, I just feel she has some depression, postpartum depression and should see the doctor." Her parents are currently helping her look after baby Krystal and whenever Shirley's manager has documents for her, her father would be the one accepting them on her behalf. She is still emotionally down and aside from advising Shirley to see the doctor, Virgina hopes she can get back up again and get back into work, distracting herself from the emotions is the best treatment. Virgina continued: "Shirley doesn't want to see anyone. when I invited her out for breakfast, she couldn't even do that. I do feel a little frustrated seeing her like this, but at the same time I feel she's very miserable. There are somethings we must discuss and resolve. I'm not close with her mother either, so it's difficult to handle."

As Shirley is currently news worthy and draws attention, she has been invited to take part in shopping mall events as well as stage performances. Virgina said jobs are under discussion, but as of now, she will have to see what Shirley's condition is. Up until today, no contract has been signed. Virgina is worried that Shirley may be unstable and that she may need to compensate for the losses, so all along no jobs have been confirmed for her. The highest possible first job after Shirley's pregnancy is a shopping mall promotional event, the 'comeback' is also especially meaningful to her.

After Shirley had her daughter, she decided to go back to HK and get back to work, hoping for to achieve something. That's probably why she decided to announce the good news about her daughter and even shared a photo with the public. However, due to the earlier incident where she first broke up with long time boyfriend Gregory Lee, hooked up with new love interest Andy Ng and then denying that she was pregnant, her reputation turned negative since then. To Shirley, a comeback must be a great impacton her. The other day, it was rumored when Shirley and Andy were together, Andy had another girlfriend in Mainland, and said that Shirley's mother often urged Shirley to buy a home with Andy. The negative rumors indeed has been troubling Shirley. Since she posted a photo of her and her baby on Weibo after returning to HK, Shirley started isolating herself and didn't post again.

Wang Baoqiang spits on Lau Ching Wan

Posted by Admin 0 comments
The film FAIRY TALE KILLER (JUI HUNG) yesterday held a trailer and first poster launch press conference in Beijing. Director Danny Pang Fat led Lau Ching Wan and Wang Baoqiang to the event. The film will be released in mid May. The first poster was unveiled at the event, which also played the film trailer. In the trailer Wang Baoqiang's "scarred look" was very frightening.

Wang Baoqiang appeared to be very excited yesterday. He said that he has seen many of Big Brother Ching Wan's movies and he was very lucky to be able to work with him this time. This character was the biggest breakthrough in his career. His look in the film also required a lot of courage. After make up he even scared himself when he looked at the mirror. At first he was afraid that he would not perform well, luckily the director gave him confidence. After two days he was completely fine. Baoqiang pointed out that one scene was very memorable. At the police station he spat on Big Brother Ching Wan's face. Although everyone was a professional actor, Big Brother Ching Wan was an elder. He was very reserved. Finally Big Brother Ching Wan firmly said that he had to spit, so he really spat on Ching Wan's face. He was truly very sorry.

Ching Wan said that the most memorable was the first time he met Wang Baoqiang. He felt that he looked too much like the killer in the film. THe director truly chose the right person. Everyone knew the communication between actors often did not require language. The host gave Lau Ching Wan a chance at revenge. Lau Ching Wan generously embraced Baoqiang and laughed, "I want to melt him with love, I won't use any violent way."

Japanese fans remember Leslie Cheung with 2388 Origami Cranes

Posted by Admin 0 comments
April 1 will be the anniversary Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing's death. Currently in the Mainland Chan Suk Fun will be in Hefei, thus she paid her respects before leaving Hong Kong.

In addition Cheung Kwok Wing's Japanese fans every year would present thousand origami cranes to Cheung Kwok Wing. On the back of each crane was messages that they wrote for Cheung Kwok Wing. This year's thousand crane theme was star. This year 2388 cranes were made because in Japanese 23 sounded like "ni-san", which meant Brother (Gor Gor); and 88 meant forever. These 2388 origami cranes represented them. "Leslie, your shine as a superstar is infinite!" At 5PM on April 1 they will bring the thousand origami crane to Po Fook Hill to present to Cheung Kwok Wing.

Teresa Mo saves Clifton Ko

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Teresa Mo Shun Kwan earlier accepted Clifton Ko Chi Sum's aTV program interview. Ko Chi Sum was the ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL (GA YAU HEI SI) director. At the time Ko Chi Sum upset one of the leads Maggie Cheung Man Yuk over something on the second day of the shoot. With a dozen or so days left, Ko Chi Sum was very worried. Mo Mo at the time gave his an idea. One day the four couples shot a wedding scene, when Ko Chi Sum saw the "brides" he praised the brides as very pretty. Mo Shun Kwan said, "Are you talking about me?" Ko Chi Sum who has already rehearsed his lines said, "Do you think you are Maggie?" Cheung Man Yuk was very pleased and immediately gave Ko Chi Sum a high five. They laughed and forgot about the grudge. Then the dozen or so days of shoot went smoothly. Ko Chi Sum also appreciated how Mo Mo saved his life.

Mo Shun Kwan played mostly "ugly characters" in Ko Chi Sum's movies. Ko Chi Sum pointed out that very few actresses would make a sacrifice like she did. Mo Mo said that only in recent years was she complimented for her beauty. At the time everyone thought she was very suitable to play those roles. She herself did not mind whether she was pretty or not, the most important was whether the character was fun. However, she felt comedy was very hard to make. It required great communication with co-stars and the director. Mo Mo also remembered Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing on the program. She said when she attended his funeral, she lost control when she looked at him through the glass and thought why Gor Gor would do this. She only wanted him to hurry up and wake up.

On Chi Kit took over for Vincent Zhao Wenzhou in DUT SHU SUN FUN. Earlier fans of Yen Chi Tan and Zhao Wenzhou exchanged insults online. Was Ting Ting afraid that her boyfriend would be dragged in? She said, "I don't know much about the matter, for now he hasn't run into anything unpleasant, maybe because he is pretty big."

01. MOSES CHAN -- The One

Within a year, Moses Chan went through a breakup with his ex (Bernice Liu), who went with another man, and became the most miserable man in HK. Back to single life, Moses immediately became a target to many FaDans and actresses in TVB. It was then he got the label as the #1 Best Deal. Unexpectedly Aimee Chan 'acquired' him and Moses did a 180 degree turn becoming the #1 Sweetheart. With addition to his 8 endorsements and several TV productions, he was the number 1 highest earning TVB artist. He's #1 in everything, no wonder Moses described this year as a year where too many things happened, he just said one word: "Nice!"

02. CHARMAINE SHEH -- SEE YOU AGAIN NEXT YEAR?

Charmaine left TVB to develop in Mainland, but it turns out that just in a blink of an eye, she has already left the company for a year already. It is just because within a year TVB kept airing her final series including My Sister of Eternal Flower, When Heaven Burns and 4 In Love that it feels like she never left, but that also means her series have all been aired. As she still owes TVB another 20 episodes, when will she shoot another series with them? Still there has been no schedule. "That's right, my time in HK nowadays is indeed not a lot. At first, I thought I wouldn't be accustomed to it, but turns out my adaptation ability is very strong. I already really like the life of shooting series in China, the work hours aren't too long and I have more personal time. It's quite relaxing..." Although the Charmaine today has a different attitude and higher pay, but thinking back in the 11 years, having an annual meeting with her (Next Magazine Awards), there is a great possibility that we won't see her next year (Because she has no TVB series, and still can't shoot series from other HK TV Stations yet.), I'm afraid it is me that won't be able to adapt to it!

03. MYOLIE WU -- AFTERWARDS

Two months ago, we saw Myolie Wu crowned TV Queen and knew she was getting awards nonstop. Lately she has been in Mainland shooting and earning some extra income, but when we mentioned the 'Next Magazine TV Awards', we thought Myolie would put up the TV Queen attitude and could careless, but Myolie really gave us face. She said if she's that lucky to make it in, then she will definitely make time on her schedule to be back in HK to attend the award show. Results, Myolie made it the Top 3. For this special edition, Myolie sacrificed her sleep time, and came to do her make up and hair at 4am.

04. MAGGIE CHEUNG -- ESCAPE!!

Maggie has already switched over to Ricky Wong's CTI and became the First Sister there. Before her depature from TVB, she participated in Forensic Heroes III and was able to make it in 4th place. Leaving the company she had been with for 17 years, Maggie expressed it's not because of TVB's harsh contract conditions or the discussions didn't go well, it is just because she feels it's really abnormal to be in the same company for 17 years: "HK will have a few more TV stations soon, I just feel its better for the TV Industry. Changing companies is actually something very normal, go to a new environment, will definitely bring new knowledge. It's just like recently when I'm shooting a Mainland drama, the crew there are very serious and efficient. It was an eye-opener for me too. If I don't go and see what's out there, I will never know!"

However, the most frightening is if she becomes a 'traitor', TVB may shut her out and there will be no turning back. "In the business world, there is nothing that is forever. Before I left, I met with Miss Lok (Virgina Lok), Tsang Jeh (Catherine Tsang) and Mr. Chan Fai Kwong, there wasn't anything unhappy that occurred. Also, I believe such a big company, there won't be such sensitive (shut out) things happening right?"

05. LINDA CHUNG -- EXTREME TEARS

Often playing the innocent obedient girls, Linda Chung's one crying scene in Yes Sir, Sorry Sir got the entire HK discussing. She made headlines "Sobs Shakes The Whole City" on the entertainment section. Linda instantly became part of the group with acting skills. Later she continues the crying in L'Escargot, further establishing Linda's 'Miserable Queen' label.

"For every crying scene, my tears are all real because if I can't touch myself to tears, then it's hard to touch audience hearts, but after these two series, I stopped the crying scenes. On the third time, audience may feel I cried pretty well, but on the 4th, 5th or 6th time, audience will start saying that I'm only crying and there's nothing else to do. So, I don't want to be stuck in one type of character, I can actually be a bad person too, or a criminal.."

06. BOSCO WONG - SELF-DESTRUCTION

Since Bosco Wong and Myolie Wu started dating, they have never deliberately tried to conceal their relationship, but recently Bosco described Myolie as "the woman in my house". He's becoming more and more honest. We see that the Siu Sangs from his generation, all choose to pretend and be pure, won't be in relationships, just love fans. Even when the bed photos are made public, still continue to pretend to be lost in love and try to get sympathy. Bosco is indeed different: "I have never thought of myself as an Idol artist."

Because Bosco destroyed the Idol Artist mask, didn't treat himself as a saint, no need to be all Chok, so he doesn't have to always be a good character in series, just like in Lives of Omission, his gangster role 'Bai Co'. He actually went to 'lick' the bottom of shoes, or even get very intimate with Kate Tsui. He can still steal Laughing Gor (Michael Tse) limelight. No wonder, Eric Tsang and other film directors publicly praised him that among all the TVB Siu Sangs, Bosco is the most flexible.

07. KENNETH MA - ON SALE 38

Since Moses Chan was taken by Aimee Chan, Kenneth Ma takes his place as the number #1 Best Deal in the industry. Also, his upright doctor role Cheung Yat Kin in The Hippocratic Crush instantly got him to be the number 1 target among the group of 'left behind women' (middle-age, single women). It was just like when I mentioned at my company that I would be doing the photo shoot with Kenneth, my female colleagues immediately bounced up and asked: "When are you going to do the photo shoot with Yat Kin Tau? I want to see him!" That day, there were 4-5 female admin workers that stood by the studio's doorway the whole time to watch and their goal is to take a picture with Yat Kin Tau.

He said: "I am far from being the Best Deal', I just think I don't have a house yet and just my financial capability, I'm not qualified!" Kenneth still modestly denied.

08. TAVIA YEUNG - STAR ROMANCE

Tavia has played a professional role in three consecutive series, Yes Sir Sorry Sir she was a teacher, then in The Other Truth she was a lawyer and in The Hippocratic Crush she was a doctor. Among the three, Tavia expressed The Hippocratic Crush was her favorite. "I feel the doctor role is very holy and positive. Conveys a lot of loving messages!"

It is also because of THC, that the dry Tavia with no rumors whatsoever finally gets to be rumored with the bulky Him Law. [Apparently] they have started their secret romance.

When speaking of Him Him, Tavia smiles sweetly: "This time, I met a lot of new friends, many of them are newcomers, they all have the desire to improve and are very hard working. We support each other, of course Onion (Him's role), outside of the series, he's a happy fruit too, making everyone else happy. (Do you have sparks with Him?) Of course, not only him, I have sparks with all my co-stars..."

Shooting a series that got high ratings and is now one of the first to be elected for TV Queen, also with her new 'partner' giving her support, no wonder Tavia loves The Hippocratic Crush.

09. KEVIN CHENG - POWERFUL ATTACK

42 year old Kevin Cheng made a successful breakthrough in last year's Ghetto Justice. He even became a two time TVB King winner. Not just that, his Mainland drama Startling Step by Step has been a huge hit. Kevin immediately washes away that 'moldy smell'. Currently, Mr. Cheng is wanted everywhere around the country, he boasted that each episode in Mainland, he gets 300,000 RMB, comparable to Huang Xiao Ming! However, I'm not interested to know how much he gets per episode, I care more about if the majority of Kevin's time will be in Mainland.

10. FALA CHEN - HERE COMES GODDESS

When Fala was taking these photos, she said she feels like a demon that just rise from a landfill, just like the Grim Reaper is coming. Indeed, when Fala is not smiling, she looks like a cool and hard to predict person. So last year when she joined the TV Queen battle, she was arranged to be the villain, using hot and spicy methods to take compete for the award. However, in the end she left with nothing and suffered from an illness that left her putting work to hiatus. "There are gains and loses to everything. Lives of Omission was well acclaimed, and I'm Happy, but later the news got me not knowing what to do. Actually it's fine for a few negative reports, but often writing bad about me is never a good thing. However, I can't control it, like when I first debuted, the reports kept saying I was flirty, but after a while, I started playing good characters and did what I had to do, now it's better. Audience can see what kind of person I am!" Currently Fala is still in the resting and restoring phase, sleeping 8 hours a day, watches DVDs, reading books and practicing her acting. She changes from the Reaper to a Goddess.

Kenny Wong Has Romance with Christine Ng and Katy Kung

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Kenny Wong modelled at a fashion show. He expressed that he hasn't done a catwalk for a few years. He actually really likes doing fashion shows, as he can act chok. He said, "When acting, cannot always chok. Can chok when doing [fashion] shows". When talking about TVB's grand production "Beauty at War", which is in the process of filming, he laughingly said, "This time, don't have to be a eunuch again. Being a government official's son. Have romantic scenes with Christine Ng and Katy Kung".

Kenneth Ma no taste in fashion, Tavia Yeung takes him out clothes shopping

Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments

Last night Norman Leung hosted a celebration dinner for the cast and crew of TVB series The Hippocratic Crush and announced that there will be a sequel. Lead actor and actress Kenneth Ma and Tavia Yeung are currently busy shooting for pre-modern series Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles and attended in their costumes.

Kenneth Ma has been accepting series after series, but he modestly said it's not much of a harvest. It is all thanks to THC's high ratings that he got more public event job opportunities and is another source of income. He hopes to save enough money to get a bigger house. When reporters teased him asking if he needs a 'golden house to keep a mistress'? Kenneth jokingly said: "If I'm rich, I don't mind. I want a bigger house, enough for 7 people to live in. This is for the convenience of my sister bringing her two children to visit us, and have more room to move around." Kenneth also believed that home investment is far more practical and valued than having famous cars or watches.

Earlier Lawrence Ng publicly praised Kenneth's good acting. Kenneth thanked 'Ching Ji Mei' (Lawrence's role in Healing Hands) for his appreciation. "I thought he didn't watch. Actually Healing Hands's Dr. Ching Ji Mei is an icon. This time, our doctor roles are more on the greater scale, different from their type." Kevin Cheng also praised that he has hope for the TV King title this year. Kenneth was very grateful: "Have to really thank this big brother, he loves me a lot too. Often times, he gives me advice on what to wear and the way I dress. He also told me he'll take me along to develop in Mainland." When speaking of him lacking a female companion to dress him up? Kenneth claimed that Tavia should take him out for clothes shopping because there will be a discount. He laughed and said this is what Tavia suggested, so he's not worried to be called the 'light bulb' between Tavia and Him Law.

Tavia teased Kenneth's outfit that he looks like a waiter and told him to put on a suit jacket: "Today, he initially came here without the suit jacket. It was only when I said he's always looking like a waiter, that he put that jacket on." Tavia continued to tease her partner: "He has everything, he has a house, he has the acting, but he just doesn't have any taste in fashion. He really needs to change his image, in order to reach the a higher level. Although I don't really have much knowledge on fashion myself, but as a friend I'm not trying to bash him, just giving advice and trying to help him. He is happy to accept any advice, just not many people tell him. (But he has no girl?) Leave it to fate." Tavia also said she doesn't mind taking Kenneth out to shop for clothes, just as long as time allows her to do so.

Mandy Wong bitterly practices walking a ladder for her renovation worker role

Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments

TVB rising FaDan Mandy Wong played 'Mei Suet' in The Hippocratic Crush following her popular role 'Kwan Yee So' in L'Escargot and has been on the popularity rise since. TVB is heavily promoting her, as she is casted in series after series, next month she'll be starting on new series A Chip off the Old Block II and will 'continue fate' with Him Law. In the series she plays a renovation worker girl, and to gain deeper knowledge in the role, Mandy especially took out some time before filming starts to learn how to remodel homes from her relative, who actually works as a renovation worker in real life. As Mandy does not have any knowledge on renovation, she will have to start from the very beginning and work her way up.

On her first 'lesson', Mandy learned how to walk the wooden ladder. Her relative took the lead and demonstrated for her first. She saw her relative clamping his two legs to the ladder, and walked while sitting on the ladder with ease. During the time, he was even walking with he ladder as he painted the walls, looking very relaxed. Mandy misunderstood and thought it was a piece of cake, and before she knew it, she was injured instantly when it was her turn. Mandy appeared having a very difficult time walking the ladder, and called for help from her relative: "Why can't I move it?" Her relative saw her struggling and went forward to attentively explain to her how it works. He taught her the tricks to holding the ladder with her legs and walking with it.

After all the hard work, Mandy barely took a step while sitting on the ladder. Although she only made little progress, she was still very happy. Then Mandy just took the ladder home with her and will be moving around with the ladder at home every day. She laughed: "It looks easy, but in reality it's so difficult, so I practiced for several days. My thighs are all sore, but that's ok! How will there be any achievements if there are no effort put into it! I'll just treat this as homework, must accomplish it. No matter what difficulty I encounter, I must overcome!"

GEM troubled relationship, turns into problematic youth

Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments

In the past two years, GEM Tang did not release any new albums, recently she has been preparing for her latest album and flew to the United States to shoot the MVs and the album cover. GEM expressed her new song Subconscious Cruelty (潛意式的殘酷) is about her personal emotional issues: "The most harm given to a person is not the physical pain, but is the subconscious mind! When there are a lot of things suppressing you, and so many people criticizing you, if not handled well, you can really get depression!"

GEM frankly said she has different views when facing different problems. In the recent year, she has been facing issues with her relationship, family and religion. Asked if she has turned into a problematic youth? She said: "I am a normal person too, we all have different problems. (How do you resolve them?) My greatest way out of problems is God! I personally face a lot of problems, but I found a way to release it all. I want everyone to know how I fell and how I got back up, so I have even more hope in life and love life even more. If can't find a way out, then it be very difficult!"

When speaking of why there is a two year gap before she launches a new album? GEM expressed: "I am impatient myself, but I don't want my new songs to have no meaning, so that's why its taking so long! Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments
Shu Qi in support of Donnie Yen Chi Tan faced online attacks, which made her helplessly remove her microblog to avoid malicious attacks. Artists and fans alike were reluctant and heart broken to see her like this, but she has already strongly stood up again and on her official site responded as the Shu Qi official site fan club. Shu Qi said that she would thank people who have hurt her because they enabled her to keep learning and growing. Although the process hurt a little and was a little hard to take, but are people not alive for spiritual practice? Thus she thanked people who did not love her for giving her the chance for spiritual practice. Then she properly would consider life direction.

Shu Qi also did not care about any comment. She has managed to walk through, get through and persist through the storms of the past 17 years. Being able to continue to live in this circle and having the love of many, she believed that her parents burnt a lot of incense for her ancestors. Thus other storms would pass, trading accusations and name calling would only add to each other's negative energy. She wish the world would not need to fight in the future, positive energy will be able to crush negative energy for people who need warmth to experience the power of love. She admitted that for now although she was a little weak and did not know what to do, she just needed a little time and she will properly, strongly get through it and be better than before. Very soon she will have a heroic good woman, no one should worry about her.

According to Shu Qi's manger, her future work schedule has not been affected. Next month she will attend a public event at the soonest.
