Rumour has it that Edison Chen's mother disapproved of his new girlfriend, Ann Hong.

As reported on Jayne Stars, Edison had taken Ann (formerly reported as "Angela Meng") to meet his parents. However, his folks found 22-year-old Ann to be immature and unable to communicate with them.

Meanwhile, Ann reportedly feels that it is not important whether Edison's parents accept her or not, and believes that their relationship is only between the two of them.

Another rumour stated that Edison also planned a shopping date that included Ann and his mother in order to get them closer. The three of them were seen at the IFC supermarket, but Ann did not speak to Edison's mother at all and only smiled when talking to Edison.

The frustrated Edison allegedly took out his anger on the reporters instead, yelling at the paparazzi that were following them, "You guys are dogs!" before sarcastically wishing them Merry Christmas.
