The golden triangle of Hong Kong box office Johnnie To, Andy Lau and Sammi Cheng last collaborated in 2004′s Yesterday Once More, in March 2012 they announced that they would collaborate again in Blind Detective after 8 years of waiting for the audience thus becoming an anticipated film for 2013 with Johnnie pairing Andy and Sammi as crime solvers and it’s also Andy’s first attempt to be blind.

Earlier Sammi had to rest due to Ménière’s disease, thus shooting of the film stopped, she finally returned to work a few days ago as a refreshing Sammi reported for work to shoot a scene with Andy who wore black and white, with her birthday round the corner, she has no intention of going on leave as she will do her best for the film.

The location shooting was carried out at streets of Kowloon Tong, the reporters discover that Andy and Sammi was shooting inside a private vehicle when they arrived around 2PM, several fans of Andy were present to support their idol as they stand afar to see him.

As Andy is a retired and blind policeman, thus Sammi was the driver of the vehicle, but Sammi did not actually drove as the vehicle was actually being towed during shooting with Andy and Sammi chatting while facing the camera. As a blind character, Andy did not wore any sunglasses or carrying any gadgets for the blind, wearing a western suit, he looked like a normal person.

The shooting was completed smoothly within one hour, Andy and Sammi then walked out of the vehicle to their respective nanny car to rest. Wearing black, Sammi had cut her hair short and looked fresh, she took a 5 minutes rest before returning to the vehicle to shoot individual scene. Andy also walked out of the nanny car and while waiting for his turn, he sat down to chat with Johnnie.

With her 40th birthday two days away, Sammi had won the battle against her illness and get back to work in her best condition. With her birthday round the corner, she did not extend her leave and immediately start the shooting for Blind Detective, it can be seen how she weight the collaboration of the golden triangle to create another box office miracle.
