(Twins at Queensland for photoshoot)
Recently, it has been a trend to make sequels in the film industry. In 2002, not long after Charlene Choi (Ah Sa) debut, she collaborated with Ekin Cheng in romantic comedy My Wife is 18, which had good public response. Initially last year, James Yuen and Universe Film Productions had already prepared HK$10 million to shoot the sequel My Wife is Eighteen 2: My Husband Misbehaves. James hoped to get the original cast back for the sequel to do a 10th anniversary celebration. The film is confirmed to start shooting later this month, and is estimated to go on the big screens in September. Although the lead actor and actress are very busy, the two were willing to accept to shoot this film based on James' sincerity.
This time, aside from taking on the leading role, Ah Sa will also put in some effort in the production and suggested to Director James that they should all go to Queensland for a beautiful background. Ah Sa accepted a phone interview and expressed: "Twins did a photo shoot in Queensland, I showed the photos to the director and he couldn't believe how beautiful the location was. This time, I can finally go revisit the beautiful place! (Reduce the pay to shoot this film?) Because it seems like only action films get a large budget, I want to give some support to comedies."
Earlier director James took the lead and invited everyone out to eat for a warm up. It turns out Director James felt he owed Ekin and Ah Sa a favor: "Back then Hong Kong produced films were not played in Mainland, this time I can bring them out into the China market. In fact aside from this film, my other film Crazy n' The City was also a very passionate film. If there are no mishaps, next year we'll start a sequel too, Joey Yung tentatively has interest in participating."
