Yesterday the cast of TVB series L'Escargot including Michael Miu, Ron Ng, Mandy Wong and Oscar Leung arrived at the Lam Tsuen Wishing Square in hope the finale will get high ratings. Lead actress Linda Chung was absent from the promotion because she's not feeling well. Earlier Michael was upset that the series broadcast during the wrong period, but last week the ratings peaked at 33 points (~2.11 million viewers). Its considered an accomplishment, Michael said: "Perhaps, earlier the broadcast concided with the Lunar New Year period, and viewers saw Linda Chung crying nonstop, so they wanted to stay away from the TV. After the Lunar New Year hoildays ended, viewers are catching the series again and thus able to excite the ratings. When I was shooting this series, I already had a feeling viewers will like thsi series, just I couldn't imagine that the series would release during Lunar New Year."
Viewers discovered Ron Ng and Linda Chung's breakup scene was very similiar to Raymond Lam and Tavia Yeung's breakup scene in The Mysteries of Love, Ron said: "The dialogue for breakups are pretty much all the same. It's more about how the artists perform in that scene. Often times, TVB uses Kwun Tong pier as the background for these types of scenes." He expressed initially when Linda started shooting this series, she was worried viewers won't accept her character, since she unexpectedly had an affair with Michael Tse for money. Some viewers thought her character is ignorant, but Ron believes the story afterwards will run smoothly and there won't be a careless ending.
Mandy Wong didn't think there was a problem with the broadcast period, the most important is that the series has positive public response. After all, there are a lot of people out on vacation during the Lunar New year, so the ratings will get dragged down, but it does not stop the series being one of the hottest topics on discussion forums on the internet.
