Maggie Shiu And Vincent Sze In A May-September Romance

Saturday, September 10, 2011 Posted by Admin 0 comments
Has 46 years old Maggie Shiu (邵美琪) finally found her essence of love? Ever since breaking up with Ekin Cheng (鄭伊健) in the year 1999, Maggie had been scarred in love and did not have the fortitude to venture into the sea of love again. However, hope came in the year of 2008, when she filmed Johnnie To‘s (杜琪峯) Tactical Unit – Comrades in Arm《機動部隊—同袍》and got to know the nine years younger martial arts actor Vincent Sze (施祖男).

It was know that, under Vincent Sze’s constant aggressive pursuit, Maggie finally accepted him and thus launching this May-September romance.

In order to protect their love bud, Maggie Shiu, who was renowned for her low-profile mannerism, refused to make their romance public.

Last night, Maggie and Vincent were decked out in a neighborhood disguise, wearing T-shirts, shorts and slippers. The both of them also brought Maggie’s mom along to Tian Hau for some steamboat dinner.

When the reporter discovered their tracks, Maggie and Vincent both acted graciously and even when the reporter chased and asked Maggie about her love developments with her boyfriend, Maggie still kept her smile and answered. Seeing that he had met the parents and that their relationship was stable, Vincent also responded to his romance with Maggie for the very first time.

Yesterday night at approximately 9pm, Maggie Shiu, Vincent Sze and Maggie’s mother reached Tian Hau’s “Shang Ping” for some steamboat dinner. Maggie and Vincent were both donned in casual neighborhood outfits. A plain-faced Maggie Shiu appeared without any makeup and wore a black thick framed spectacles. The spectacles was suspected to be a couple set as Vincent was seen wearing matching spectacles too. Even the slippers they wore were similar pairs, truly matching from head to toe.

Vincent Sze attentive and gentlemanly

After the trio entered the steamboat shop, Maggie spotted a special promotion poster on the wall which read, “7% off after 9.30PM” and immediately turned to tell Vincent. The three of them then climbed one level up but after Vincent went down to survey the surroundings, they moved to a secluded spot to enjoy steamboat and some quality family bonding time.

A restaurant customer saw that Vincent was extremely gentlemanly to Maggie and his “future mother-in-law”, passing them some food with his chopsticks and watching the time to feed the coin parking meter for their parking lot. The trio chatted and ate at the same time and only left after two hours.

Maggie Shiu smiled in response

When Maggie spotted the reporter taking photographs of them, she looked shocked but soon retrieved herself and smiled when the reporter went up to say “Hi” to her. Vincent, on the other hand, seemed like he was afraid to be photographed looking ugly and anxiously opened the car door while Maggie helped her mother into the car.

The reporter then asked Maggie whether she was bringing her boyfriend to meet the parents, whether she was happy and also asked her about her recent love life. Maggie did not utter a word but instead smiled like as if she has just received forty thousand dollars.

As for Vincent, he acted as the driver and after seeing that Maggie has settled her mother into the van, he opened the car door for Maggie as well. Vincent also politely waved to the reporters before driving off and leaving the scene.

Ever since Maggie’s and Vincent’s relationship had surfaced, their May-September romance and age differences of nine years soon became the talk of the town.

Maggie who was spotted without a trace of makeup last night, looked like she has maintained well with the nourishment of love. Thus even though she was standing beside the nine years younger Vincent, their age differences still managed to slip pass undetected.

It was known that Maggie has been closely and secretly dating Vincent for about two years now and the relationship was only exposed when the duo returned back to Hong Kong together in July this year.

Maggie maintained her low profile way of handling the romance and immediately refused to “open the gate” or reveal a single word about it when the reporter asked about this budding romance.

Although Maggie rejected to say anything, there has been much public backlash about this May-September relationship. Not only was their age differences “frowned upon”, Vincent’s little known fame was a widely disputed topic too.

Vincent, who is an action star, was nowhere near the popularity and fame of Maggie who is a TVB veteran thespian and has been in the industry for twenty years.

Some of the ugly words used by the media to describe this love included “obscure star” [referring to Vincent for being lesser-known] and “incompetent and low status”. Further adding to their agony, their cohabiting was seen upon as “a sugar mommy and kept man” romance, which only added more pressure to their already plagued-with-negativism relationship.

Publicly responding to their romance for the very first time

Yesterday, the reporter managed to contact Vincent and texted him a message, asking him whether he felt an immerse pressure from the negative news about him dating Maggie.

Vincent broke his silence for the first time and responded that he is currently overseas now, thanked the reporter for his concern and expressed that he couldn’t care less about it as he doesn’t read entertainment news. Vincent also continued that “the pen was in someone else’s hands” hence there was also nothing he could do about it.

Myolie also expressed that Johnnie took them to a seafood restaurant the other night and enjoyed red wine. She said: "I also went shopping for an hour and had a 'great blood loss', spending 5 figures on 3 pairs of shoes. A rare chance that I'm here, so might as well reward myself, since worked so hard in usual days."

Later, Myolie went to a small shop in Marco plaza to buy a Triangel doll, which was seen in Triumph in the Skies. Myolie later ran a raffle on Weibo and gave Triangel to the winning fan. As their film was the last to appear at the festival, Myolie sighed she regrets not being able to see the Hollywood stars.

Raymond Lam relies on 'Men with No Shadows' for TV King

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Raymond Lam, Bobby Au Yeung and Tavia Yeung's Men with No Shadows will be replacing Lives of Omission's time slot on Monday. This year Raymond will have to rely on this one chance to defeat Laughing Sir (Michael Tse) in the race for the TV King title. This year Raymond has two series broadcast. My Sister of Eternal Flower only had average public response and the 'Mavis Pan Scandal' really obstructed his spirit. In Men with No Shadows, Raymond plays an unpredictable devil and will often be the 'King of Chok' generating electricity with his 'Red Eyes'.

Men's producer (Poon Ka Tak) strongly supports Raymond. He praises Raymond absolutely has the power to take the TV King title. He said: "Raymond's performance this time greatly differs from his roles in the past. The style is different from the usual him and also he has tremendous changes. He is very mysterious and unpredictable. Raymond really has the talent for performing and has great capabilities to express the characters. Of course there are many good actors in Men too, if it wasn't for Bobby Au Yeung's 'good person' role, it would be hard to convince audience. Tavia Yeung gets stuck in between Raymond and Bobby, really had that subtle chemistry."

Introducing Men with No Shadows, Producer Poon describes the series as suspense: "This is another type of drama, can be considered a fable story. I want to warn viewers that this series is not written based on a true story in society, there is suspense, illusions and while we were producing the series, we had powerful imaginations. So, when you are enjoying the series, do not think about real life, put yourself into the story. If you feel Raymond is a ghost, then he's a ghost. If you feel he's human, then he's human. Just a small spoiler, the series will have an unexpected ending."

Producer Poon described how Men is revolved around the word 'Trial'. In other people's eyes, he is a 100% good person that goes through trials, but actually good people have their weaknesses. You think Devils are frightening? In fact, the Devil in the heart is even harder to resist! Much of what draws people into doing something bad basically comes from the nature of that person. The saying "Cherish the people you have at present", just how many people really know how to cherish?

Cecilia Cheung Blasts Wong Jing With Sarcasm, Criticizes Script As Being No Good

Posted by Admin 0 comments
The movie that starred the mother and son team which consisted of Cecilia Cheung (張栢芝) and her real life son, Lucas Tse (謝振軒), held it’s premiere in Hong Kong yesterday.

Lucas who had just started school, was unable to attend the premiere. On the other hand, his mother, Cecilia Cheung, was earlier blasted by the Mainland investors of that film for not attending enough promotions. This incurred Cecilia’s manager to retaliate and clarify matters on Weibo.

Yesterday night, Cecilia appeared at the movie premiere of that said film in Hong Kong. It was not known whether she was unwilling to be aggrieved but during the premiere, Cecilia blasted the script and the scriptwriter as being no-good.

This left Wong Jing (王晶), who was both the scriptwriter and the director of the film, with no choice but to act according to circumstances and to play it by ear, transforming Cecilia’s remarks into a joke, in hopes of driving away the unwanted guest.

Attending the premiere of her movie, Treasure Hunt《無價之寶》, Cecilia was donned in a Jean Paul Gaultier floral jumpsuit and had a new explosive zig zag hairstyle.

This also marked Cecilia Cheung’s first public appearance in Hong Kong after agreeing to a divorce with Nicholas Tse (謝霆鋒).

Upon her appearance, Cecilia made known that she wouldn’t be accepting any interviews from the press and only had a verbal exchange with the emcee. After staying to have the toasting ceremony and cutting of mooncake, Cecilia immediately fled the scene, rendering the remaining cast and crew speechless. In fact, Cecilia only stayed at the movie premiere of “Treasure Hunt” for a mere ten minutes!

Wong Jing Take It As It Comes

Earlier on, the Mainland investing company that invested in “Treasure Hunt” blasted Cecilia for accepting a filming remuneration of ten million when she had refused to abide by her side of the contract, which required her to attend promotional events for the film.

Upon learning about this, Cecilia’s manager went on Weibo to clarify matters and defend Cecilia, stirring up a war of words with the investing company.

Last night, when Cecilia was on stage, her every sentence was dripping with sarcasm, even going as far as to rebuke the script for being lousy. When the emcee asked her about any amusing stuff that happened during her time filming with Lucas, Cecilia responded, “Lucas was just being himself. I am usually the one who would help him to bathe every night. Hence, during filming, we were just performing our normal day-to-day activities like sleeping and bathing. Lucas didn’t even know that we were acting in a movie.”

As for whether Lucas had displayed any acting talent, Cecilia replied, “Lucas has my DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid), he also loves to change dialogues and deliver some lines “off-the-cuff”. Maybe he felt that the scriptwriter was not good, he didn’t even followed one dialogue from it, he just self-invented the dialogues and presented it in a way which surfaced the naiveness of a child.”

Cecilia continued, “Lucas’ scenes took about a day to film in Hong Kong but he still felt very happy and comfortable.” (Emcee: Did Lucas suffer from any acting relapse and requested to shoot another movie again?) “Nope! Maybe there isn’t any good script around lahs!” It could be seen that after trampling on the screenwriter, Cecilia continued to crush the script!

Despite Cecilia’s harsh bashing, Wong Jing, who was the producer, scriptwriter and director of “Treasure Hunt”, did not flinch and continued to be all smiles. Wong Jing responded, “Wait till Lucas is 18 years old and I will give him a movie about courting girls to film lahs!”

After saying her piece, Cecilia didn’t went in with everyone to enjoy the movie but instead, she slipped through the back door of the cinema and left. However, before leaving, Cecilia still stopped to accept flowers from her fans as a form of polite gesture.

About rumors of Cecilia’s refusal to promote the film, Wong Jing professed, “This isn’t Cecilia’s only promotion. The previous time we promoted at Guangxi and the praying ceremony is also considered as another promotion too. But of course, as the producer, I feel that the more promotions done, the better lahs!” (Reporter: Cecilia refused to accept an interview this time?) “Take photographs of her lors! Because she also has nothing to revert to the things you guys ask her!”

(Did you feel that Cecilia has fulfilled enough of the promotions obligations?) “I had already shot over a hundred dramas, I will not force my friends to do something that they are willing to do.” (In the future when Cecilia takes up movie offers, will her arrangements be like this too?) “I have not seen her for a long time, you guys should ask her management company instead.” (Will you be collaborating with her again?) “See how the tendency goes lors, will find her again if it’s appropriate and suitable.”

Not planning to collaborate again for the time being

Asked whether it was because Cecilia’s asking price has increased significantly, Wong Jing laughed heartily and said, “Her asking price has never been cheap, even before she had gotten married, it was also not cheap.”

The reporter then asked Wong Jing whether he would take this opportunity to talk to Cecilia about her mood after divorce. Wong Jing responded that this was also the first time he had seen Cecilia ever since she had divorced with Nicholas Tse but he expressed that he rarely talks about personal matters thus he did not ask Cecilia about her private affairs. Wong Jing also continued, “Cecilia is already an adult lahs, I am also considered half an uncle to Cecilia hence I do not need to deliberately bring it up.”

Actually, Cecilia was in high spirits throughout the premiere. Upon reaching the premiere, she had even privately chatted with former rumored squeeze, Ronald Cheng (鄭中基). The duo even erupted into bouts of laughter in between their conversation. It turned out that Ceilia had joked that Ronald looked like “King of Cat” Elvin Presley.

Cecilia later proceeded to cut a giant mooncake with Jacquelin Chong (莊思敏), Phillip Ng (伍允龍) and the rest of the cast and crew. In the midst of cutting it, a piece of the mooncake bounced and shivered, which drew attention from Cecilia and Ronald, who exchanged glances amongst themselves and laughed.

Charmaine Sheh is out of control buying shoes, becomes a collector

Friday, September 09, 2011 Posted by Admin 0 comments
Charmaine Sheh was a guest at an event in Chengdu and enjoyed the shoe store JOY & PEACE fashion show. Charmaine got more and more intoxicated into the shoes as she watched the show. She frankly claimed she's a 'shoe addict'. She said: "I have a few hundred pairs of shoes at home. I buy at least one pair of shoes every time I go out, I cannot control myself and I hope to treat this 'illness' as soon as possible." She reveals the most expensive pair was valued at HK$20,000. Because she owns so many pairs of shoes, there are some she hasn't even worn in 2-3 years, but unwilling to give to others. She laughed: "I can totally jog in high heels and have no problems shooting fight scenes with heels on."

As for TVB General Manager Stephen Chan's case was appealed by the legal department, Charmaine was shocked: "I didn't know! So what will happen? Wasn't the case done? It will be fine!" As for if she sent her regards to him? She said: "I am a witness, I cannot do these things. It should be fine."

A rough Kate Tsui criticizes Bosco Wong being too fastidious

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Bosco Wong and Kate Tsui should just switch their identities. In other words, these two mutually criticize each other that their personal character does not match with their respective genders. In Kate's eyes, Bosco is more fastidious than a girl, but in Bosco's eyes Kate is like a rough man ('ma lut').

This wrong match, one is a man that is fastidious while one is woman who is more sloppy than a guy. Bosco said: "Kate is really like a man. Don't see her with those generous lips and a fit body figure, she is actually those types that is sweet on the outside, but rough on the inside."

Sitting besides him was Kate who heard the way Bosco described herself, she instantly refuted: "You think you're really Man? You are so much more fastidious than a girl, I never seen a guy wanting to look pretty as much as you do!" Bosco laughed out loud and said: "I have a sense of cleanliness! I dislike being like you, don't even clean up your car." Although Bosco and Kate are bickering and aren't willing to compromise, the two still have great chemistry. They both ordered a lightly sweetened iced tea, definitely have minds that are alike.

In Lives of Omission, Bosco's role as Michael and Kate as Paris has left a deep impression on audience. Towards this new challenge, Bosco said: "My role has a mustache. I personally thought it was OK, pretty hot. However, I feel it's really annoying because I have to keep maintaining it. Maintaining and taking care of it, but it's something different that I can show people. Not your typical Bosco Wong."

Kate said: "When I first got this role, I was really scared. I feared being a lawyer. Aside from me not looking too good in a lawyer's costume, I couldn't handle the wig. The worst was the dialog of lawyers is truly difficult, and I had to be a really smart lawyer too. I had to come out as like a winner, so it was quite pressuring. The dialog really requires a lot of time to memorize, like a student studying. Compared to the time I usually spend on memorizing scripts, this time I spent ten times more."

Janet recently said why don't we just marry in Australia without anyone, just the two of us. Then we'll come back and hold the banquet. Parents of both sides agreed, my father (Sammo Hung) doesn't mind because he's busy shooting a new film and will only have time in January of next year."

Timmy is prepared to buy a 1 carat diamond ring valued at HK$20,000 to marry Janet. In the future when he earns more money, he will add more to the gifts. Anita Yuen: “I Like to Control My Husband, Chilam Cheung”

Thursday, September 08, 2011 Posted by Admin 0 comments
Appearing at a promotional event last night, Chilam Cheung (張智霖) mentioned that his son, Morton, started school in August. Asked how he managed to prevent the media from photographing Morton attending school, Chilam smiled and said, “I’m so low-key and the media also spared us. Perhaps there were too many targets the paparazzi was interested in instead!”

Chilam celebrated his wife, Anita Yuen’s (袁詠儀 ) birthday earlier with a large group of friends. Chilam gave Anita her favorite gift, “I gave her a five-figure sum in cash!” (Did Anita feel bashful in accepting the gift?) “She did not act with any reserve! We have too many things at home, so giving cash was the most practical gift.

“On Morton’s birthday, I did not give him any toys either; it’s better to donate to charity instead!” Earlier, when Morton spotted a person with disabilities on the street, Morton wanted to donate money to the person. Chilam praised his son for possessing a charitable spirit.

During a television program interview, Anita Yuen admitted that she was a dominant woman (大女人) and liked to control her husband, as well as make lifestyle arrangements for him.

Wong He vows never to marry (Part 3)

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Wong He’s love life has been the subject of many ‘tea time’ conversations and over the years, there has been much speculation regarding his relationships as well as his sexual orientation. Who is Wong He’s ‘other half’? Is it the same-sex friend known only as Ming Jai (明仔) whom the Media claims has lived with him for many years? Or is it the former female DJ named Kawaii whom he was rumored with over a year ago? With regard to the question of whether he loves men or women, Wong He is not willing to ‘reveal’ the answer just yet -- however he admits that he does not agree with the secular view of marriage in society and therefore has vowed never to marry!

** The below are Wong He’s own words as recorded by the reporter (continued from previous article):

I’m already 44 years old, however my mother has not asked me about marriage because I had already ‘announced’ to her early on that I will never marry. Actually, in modern society, it’s not mandatory for everyone to get married. In terms of my views on marriage, I have to admit that I’m an advocate of a “one husband, multiple wives” system – today’s society has the accepted “one husband, one wife” standard, however I feel that this type of standard is a bit too regulated. As it is, there are naturally a lot of problems that exist when it comes to interaction between people, especially when the interaction is only between the same 2 people – issues with your partner undergoing physical changes, mental changes, etc. When things like that happen, the ‘other half’ doesn’t have any other choice – for just those same 2 people to stay together with each other forever, it’s not easy at all!

Don’t let romantic love stories fool you

With all the advances in modern technology and the constant changes in society, the way people want to interact with each other should be left up to the free will of each individual – just looking at society, there are instances of males partnered with females, males with males, females with females….how am I ‘partnered’ up? Haha….all I can tell you is that I’m ‘partnered’ up with 2 cats…no matter what though, I am very clear as to the importance of mutual communication and understanding. Don’t let those romantic love stories fool you – a lot of times, the person who lives with you may not be the person you truly love. In your mind, you may have a certain image of how your ‘ideal lover’ should be, but whether 2 people can truly endure the test of love depends on whether they are able to endure together the various ‘flavors’ (sweet, sour, bitter, spicy) of life.

Those who are truly able to ‘embody’ love in their relationship are those who will stick by each other no matter what happens and wholeheartedly accepts each others faults. It’s those people who are willing to stay together with you even if you lose an arm or a leg or never have anything good happen to you, or if you have bad habits that cannot be changed (as everyone does) – I liken it to someone who is terminally ill…honestly, would you really haggle with a terminally ill person? If you are really able to ‘heal’ that person, then good for you – otherwise, why try to force that person to change? If the person forgets to flush the toilet, then flush it for him/her! Even if you complain about the person’s snoring, you still need to accept it because at the end of the day, that’s not something within their control….anyway, keeping an optimistic view, doesn’t it work better to just focus the 2 people’s energies together to forge an even better future? It’s about taking on an attitude of tolerance and acceptance – in fact, I’m actually one of those looking to be ‘accepted’!

All matters big and small in life require ‘love’ in order to be fulfilled – this is how ‘love’ is accumulated and eventually manifested outward…if there is more ‘love’ left, then the process continues and repeats. Comparing this to modern society’s marriage system, having the couple gather together with friends and family to make a commitment – it’s too purposeful. If the reason why they are together [in marriage] is to fulfill a promise, then without that promise and commitment, are they still going to love each other unconditionally? Have you ever thought about why your ‘partner’ in life sleeps next to you? In ancient times, there’s the saying: 百年修得同船渡,千年修得共枕眠 (“It takes a hundred years cultivation to get the chance to cross paths on the same boat, it takes a thousand years cultivation to get the chance to rest on the same pillow”) [TN: Can be interpreted as: “treasure the partner that you have, as it is not an easy path to get to where the two of you are today”]. With me being a ‘modern’ person, my take on this saying is: “having a ten thousand square foot mansion can’t compare to having someone who is willing to stand guard over a 100 square foot suite waiting for you to come home.” So who is the ‘life partner’ who lies together with me? I’m not going to tell you!

Kate Tsui & Ella Koon Zero Communication With Each Other

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Kate Tsui (徐子珊) and Ella Koon (官恩娜) who were former rumored loves of Ron Ng (吳卓羲), were performing on the same stage yesterday. The two of them stood between three people and didn’t communicate a word to each other thus incurring speculations that they couldn’t get along with one another.

Kate Tsui professed that she wasn’t on very familiar terms with Ella but clarified that she wouldn’t snatch with Ron Ng’s current girlfriend, Viann Zhang (張馨予), for him. It was thus apparent that Kate was indeed determined to draw a clear line between her and Ron Ng.

Two of Ron Ng’s former rumored girlfriends, Kate Tsui and Ella Koon, appeared and shared the same stage for the event, Macau Shopping Festival 2011: The Entire City Moves Along (tentative title)《澳門購物節2011:全城喜動》, held in Macau yesterday.

As they were scheduled to come out at different timings, the both of them will only bump into each other at the toasting ceremony before the event officially ended.

Denies challenging Viann Zhang

Although both Kate and Ella were all smiles during the event, they didn’t exchange a single word throughout it and even stood between three other people thus incurring the media’s suspicion that they couldn’t get along with each other.

[Caption: Kate Tsui and Michael Tse shared an intimate dance together, which received much applause from the audience as a result.]

When Kate was asked by reporters how it felt to be on the same stage as Ella, she replied, “We have performed many times on the same stage lahs, I am not on very familiar terms with Ella but we have chatted before.” Kate also denied that Ella was her former rival-in-love, “Everyone has been mistaken, those news about Ron and I are only rumors, I saw that Ella’s hand was injured and I did ask after her!”

[Caption: Kate Tsui reveals half of her chest and much cleavage]

Because Kate Tsui wore an evening gown with a plunging neckline to perform, the reporter asked Kate whether she was dressed so sexily today to fight heads on with Ron Ng’s current girlfriend Viann Zhang. Kate denied the allegations and responded, “No such thing. I also didn’t do anything!”

Kate Tsui reveals that she would be traveling down to Malaysia with Ron Ng, Myolie Wu (胡杏兒), Michael Tse (謝天華) and Fala Chen (陳法拉) to hold a concert there. Kate also mentioned that she was arranged to dance a latin number with Michael. Kate laughed and said that Michael requested her to sing “Hit Me” and asked her to work hard in keeping fit.

Talking about performing on the same stage with Ron, Kate replied, “It was the organizer’s and the company’s arrangement oh! If fans specially request for us to collaborate, I don’t mind asking the director to arrange it for us. This isn’t the first time anyway (that I have shared the stage or collaborated in dramas with Ron), we retain collaborating ties.” (Reporter: Snatch him over?) ”You guys think too much.”

Mag Lam groans about having too many social engagements

Also sharing the same stage as them , was EEG’s singer Mag Lam (林欣彤). Mag went on stage to perform a short skit and one of the scripted dialogue was expressing that she didn’t want to be a singer and that she was busy and frustrated.

After the performance, Mag was asked whether that particular dialogue channeled her inner thoughts. Mag responded, “Something like that! Because I’m still not too used to it yet.” (Reporter: Too many social engagements?) “Hong Kong singers cannot purely sing songs everyday, the commercial element is much more than the singing element, I try my best to strike a form of valance though.” (But if there’s no commercial element then there will be no income?) “If I only wanted to earn money, I could find any other occupations. Singing is my dream and I am on my way to fulfilling it now.”

Asked whether her family was worried after seeing that she has lost much weight, Mag replied, “My family said that I have grown thinner and were worried about my health. Actually I’m okay except sometimes I feel breathless while singing. However, I have already kept trying my best to eat. I think my weight loss is because my psychological state has not gotten used to the stress.”

Mag Lam continued, “I often do not have enough time to prepare so I’m afraid that I would not be able to sing well and if I don’t sing well, I get unhappy. I have already consulted my seniors on how to relieve stress and they advised me to try putting down my “stress baggage” and that doing my best within the scope of my capabilities will already be good enough.”

Joey Yung is willing to fight, reveal and look as ugly as needed

Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments

Yesterday morning, Joey Yung accepted a radio interview, but because she was suffering from the flu, she was 20 minutes late. It was said Joey will soon be starting Raymond Wong's new film The Eight Happiness (八星抱喜) with Donnie Yen, Kelly Chen and Louis Koo. Joey said frankly: "Mani (her manager) did mention it to me, but not confirmed." It was rumored Kelly is offered a million per day of shooting salary for her comeback performance. Asked about Joey's salary? She said: "Let's see how much they think I'm worth! I am just a newcomer in the film scene, how can I dare to say anything? Also I don't have a representative work. Initially I thought I'll just get an award after shooting this one film Diva and then wait until my value increases before I shoot any more films. But Raymond Wong had those intelligent eyes and is taking the opportunity now that I'm still low to absorb me."

When speaking of Raymond Wong's Lunar New Year films being an expert at defaming the lead actress, Joey was asked if she minds playing an ugly girl? She said: "If I had to stick on a mustache or play a female landlord that is fine, but absolutely no smoking!" For the role, Joey does not mind going down the sexy path either. She laughed: "Sexiness is not a problem, the lead actor is Donnie Yen and Louis Koo! (Who do you want to kiss?) Anyone!"

Deric Wan: “Why Did I Not Marry Maggie Shiu?”

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Recently, famous Hong Kong film, television, music talent, Deric Wan (温兆伦) appeared as a guest on major television talk show, Looked and Looked "看了又看". Deric revealed the inside details of how he became famous as well as the true personalities behind past co-stars, Maggie Shiu (邵美琪), Kathy Chow (周海媚), and Irene Wan (温碧霞)! In the interview, Deric even raised and answered the question of “Why did I not marry Maggie?” The contents of Deric’s interview were quite compelling!

Obedience Led to Breakthrough Performance

Debuting as a singer, Deric’s career was tepid until starring in 1989′s Looking Back in Anger "义不容情" as the well-known villain, Ding Yau Hong. Since Deric [did not take formal acting classes], Deric was concerned that he would be unable to deliver a competent performance after receiving the role in Looking Back in Anger. Regarding Deric’s concern, Producer Wai Ka Fai (韦家辉) said bluntly, “As long as you are obedient, you will be fine. You have to do what the director, scriptwriter, and I tell you to do. If we ask you to blink your eyes three times, do not blink four times!”

Since Deric was super-obedient on the filming set of Looking Back in Anger, this led to good results in his performance. After the broadcast of Looking Back in Anger, the audience reacted strongly and Deric became a leading man at TVB. Since the outset of his career and to-date, Deric continued to be a very”obedient” actor.

Considered as a veteran, Deric collaborated with numerous TVB actresses, including Irene Wan, Kathy Chow, and Maggie Shiu. The program host imitated Irene’s soft voice, leading to laughter on the set. On the other hand, Maggie and Kathy possessed tomboyish personalities. Asked which actress he was most comfortable acting with, Deric admitted that he was most comfortable with Maggie Shiu. The pair shared a good understanding and will understand each other’s thoughts with one glance.

Deric revealed that Maggie Shiu possessed a great appetite. Despite her feminine appearance, her true personality was very tomboyish. In the past, many viewers asked why Deric did not marry Maggie Shiu. Deric raised the same question in the talk show and answered by stating that they collaborated too many times and became “brothers.”

In the television program, Deric performed a duet with Maggie Zhong (钟纯妍), entitled One Person’s Love "一个人的恋爱". For this single release, Deric was involved in the image and graphic design, as well as the creative planning of the music video. Deric also wrote the lyrics and completed the music production. Deric and Maggie performed their duet with deep feeling together.

Getting Married for the Third Time?

Focusing his career in mainland China in recent years, Deric maintained a low-profile romantic life since breaking up with TVB artist, Sonija Kwok (郭羨妮). Deric currently focused on acting and behind-the-scenes development. Several days ago, he attended a promotional event in mainland China and reports surfaced that he got married for the third time. Allegedly, Deric stated that he wanted to have a baby girl and was interested in naming her “Gentle Beauty” (温柔美) which bore the same name as his new song title.

The identity of “Mrs. Wan” was a mystery as Deric refused to disclose who the woman was. This naturally sparked much speculation, even embroiling Deric’s recent mainland partners, Zhao Ting (赵庭) and Maggie Zhong in the romantic rumors. Due to their new duet, One Person’s Love, Deric and Maggie often performed at events together. Maggie often posted their photos together online, with Deric responding to her messages thus leading to speculation that Maggie was “Mrs. Wan.” At the same time, Deric left a message on Zhao Ting’s blog, “Your idol loves you,” which gave rise to speculation as well.

Mysterious About Love

When the reporter called yesterday, Deric pretended to be mysterious about his alleged marriage. Deric said: “Marriage is my ultimate goal. Having a baby a girl is a little more urgent, which I am looking forward to. This is my dream; however everything needs to be confirmed.” (Is Zhao Ting Mrs. Wan?) “Of course not! Many people write in such a manner on blogs.” (Is Maggie Zhong Mrs. Wan?) “No, of course not!”

It was understood that Deric possessed a very good relationship with his mainland girlfriend, however the couple did not get married yet.

Andy Lau and Deanie Ip’s “A Simple Life” Premieres at Venice Film Festival to Standing Ovation

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Director Ann Hui’s (许鞍华) A Simple Life <桃姐>, starring Andy Lau (刘德华) and Deanie Ip (叶德娴), centers around a master-servant relationship between a son and a mother. A Simple Life premiered at the 68th Annual Venice Film Festival on September 5th. Director Ann Hui, the film’s producer, Andy Lau, Deanie Ip, Qin Hailu (秦海璐), and other veterans walked the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival earlier this week.

A Simple Life was one of the four short-listed Chinese language films competing for the coveted Golden Lion Award and the second Chinese language film to make its appearance at the Venice Film Festival, following the lukewarm media reception of Seedig Bale "赛德克-巴莱". Based on the published score thus far, Seedig Bale came in the last place among the screened films.

Based on the media and audience reaction at the premiere, A Simple Life was more successful. When the film ended, the entire audience rose to a standing ovation. The reporter reflected on some of the film’s transitions, coupled with the slow pace of the subject matter, which led to the early departure of certain members of the media. However, it was understood that the domestic release of the mainland China version of A Simple Life will run at 117 minutes in length, which was slightly shorter than the version shown at the Venice Film Festival.

Deanie Ip’s performance in the film won the appreciation of many media outlets. Deanie was considered to be the strongest contender for the Best Actress Award to-date.

Sharon Chan Fawns Over Both Sides, Denies Using Stephen Chan’s Influence To Gain Leading Role

Posted by Admin 0 comments
TVB Fadans Sharon Chan (陳敏之) and Fala Chen (陳法拉) had been rumored to be under the “Stephen Chan (陳志雲) camp”. Yesterday, during their costume fitting with Roger Kwok (郭晉安) for TVB new drama Schemes of East and West《東西宮略》, Sharon was asked whether she had only gained this opportunity of having a leading role because she was one of Stephen’s “beloved generals”. In reply to this, Sharon responded, “There’s no relation. It was implemented a few months ago.” (Reporter: Are you a pledged follower of the “Stephen Chan camp”?) “He is my good boss, friend as well as my “shifu” [teacher], teaching me how to be a emcee. Everyone does not have any camp, all one of us.”

Although she was allegedly in the “Stephen Chan camp”, Sharon fawned over Virginia Lok (樂易玲) by thanking Virginia for helping her to fight for this role. When mentioned about how Stephen’s reprisal of his position is beneficial to her, Sharon responded, “Never gave any thought to that. I’m just thankful to God that he’s alright now. I was previously worried for a long time. But because I’m a “witness” in that lawsuit, it was not convenient to talk too much. However, now that he’s alright, I can finally heave a sigh of relief. I did message Stephen to ask after him and he replied that everything was fine.”

As for Fala Chen, she will be acting as Zhong Wu Yen (鍾無艷) [an intelligent and capable woman in the periodic times who was born with an ugly red birthmark on her face] in “Schemes of East and West”. Fala expressed that she did notice that Stephen has returned to work. Asked whether she’s part of the “Stephen Chan camp”, Fala laughed and joked, “In the past, people have said that I’m in “Catherina Tsang‘s (珍姐派) camp, Virginia Lok’s (樂易玲) camp, I have been linked to all the parties except the rebel party.”

On the other hand, Roger Kwok expressed his congratulations to Stephen Chan for seeing the clear skies after a storm, “Stephen Chan and I were previously familiar with each other but because I had to take care of my son after that and go back to the Mainland for work, we haven’t been keeping in contact with each other that often anymore.”

In other news, while filming outdoors for the new drama series yesterday, Fala bumped into Best Actor Chow Yun Fat (周潤發) who had ever paid attention to her performances. This caused Fala to be infatuated with delight and even posted her photo taken with Chow Yun Fat on Weibo and wrote, “Fa-Gor was standing behind me and watching me act. I was trying my best to gather my concentration. Aiyahs, that pressure was so huge!” Koni Lui (呂慧儀) had also snapped a photo with Chow Yun Fat too.

G.E.M announces good news: I'm married (a joke)

Wednesday, September 07, 2011 Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments

G.E.M's GET EVERYBODY MOVING CONCERT 2011 part 2 is held this Friday and Saturday. Compared to part 1, there were some changes made to certain parts of the concert this year. Currently busy rehearsing, GEM recently learned that her loyal fan (Angel), who suffers from a rare muscle tumor condition, was disappointed that she wasn't able to buy a ticket because on the day the tickets went on sale, she had be at the hospital for treatment. Yesterday GEM especially invited Angel to meet her at Hong Kong Coliseum and got in touch with the sponsor to leave a ticket for her.

GEM said: "When I saw Angel's condition, I realized that my problems isn't so big after all. I'm always troubled by such small matters, but in fact there are many people in this world who are experiencing much more difficult problems!" Earlier GEM recorded a special video clip to support Angel while she undergo medical treatment. Angel said frankly that GEM gave her a lot of encouragement.

On GEM's right index finger, she had a 'wedding ring' on. She happily reveals that she just got married. She said: "Yesterday I married God and this is the wedding ring. A few days ago, when I was rehearsing with my band, I suddenly felt that if I could sing to God, how great would that be? Then I decided to ask a priest to baptize me. So happy!" When asked if she'll invite boyfriend Yoga Lin to the concert? She laughed: "I'm already married, why still asking about a boyfriend?"

Kate Tsui denies fighting for more screen time with Fala Chen

Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments

TVB series Lives of Omission is currently a popular hit, making Michael Tse and Kate Tsui the target on magazine reports. It was said after Stephen Chan resumed his position at TVB, he plans to boost his favorites Wong He and Wayne Lai up for TV King, shattering Michael's dreams. Kate also asked the producer to new series Schemes of East and West to give her more screen time, so she can defeat Fala Chen. However, her plans failed and therefore she withdrew from the series.

Yesterday Michael and Kate took part in the recording of 全城喜動 in Macau. Towards the related reports, Kate had a big reaction and explained: "Never heard of such thing. This is quite interesting, I did discuss a script and role with Producer Tommy Leung, but because of schedule conflicts, I couldn't take part in the series. (You don't want to collaborate with Fala?) No such thing, why would that be so? We just completed a series together. (Is it not 'if there is her, then there is no you'?) Why would that be? TVB already has a shortage of people, so they are happy when there are more people coming. Perhaps there will be more time to earn some extra money. (Fala is your greatest opponent for this year's TV Queen title?) I know I already have 5 series broadcast this year, but I personally support Myolie Wu. I heard her performance in Queen of All is awesome."

Michael just expressed: "I don't have to comment on this, there are too many of these fabricated news. (Stephen Chan made everyone in TVB split in groups and parties again?) In fact it is not Mr. Chan splitting the groups on his own, it is the public that is helping him do so. I feel that we all have the same goal, and that is to work for TVB."

Wong Hei: “I Will Never Get Married In My Lifetime!”

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Caption: Wong Hei shopping with good friend, Ming Jai.

Wong Hei’s (王喜) love life has often been a discussion topic. His significant other was exposed by the media as cohabitation partner, “Cousin” Ming Jai. Surprisingly, several years ago, Wong Hei’s ex-girlfriend was revealed to be DJ Kawaii. As to whether Wong Hei loved men or women, he was reluctant in clarifying the matter. Disagreeing with traditional marriage concepts, Wong Hei professed that he will not marry for the rest of his life!

Wong Hei revealed, “I am already 44-years-old. My mother did not ask me whether I will get married or not, since I have already ‘announced’ that I have no intention of getting married. In modern society, not everyone needs to get married. I have to admit that I advocate the ‘polygamous’ system while modern society pursues a monogamous marriage. Due to modern lifestyles, there are many problems in how people interact with each other. In a one-to-one [relationship], there is no way to divert one’s attention. When you see your partner gaining weight and losing hair, the other half has no choice; it is not easy to travel through an entire lifetime in a one-to-one arrangement!

Not To Be Deceived By A Love Story

“Today’s information systems are rich and developed, offering many variables for people to choose. Men can pair with women, men can pair with men, and women pair with women. Who will I pair with? Ha ha…. I can only say that I have two cats (to accompany me). However, I understand the importance of communication between two living beings. Do not be deceived by a love story. The person you are living with is not the person you love. The illusion of the person you love may deliver a certain impression. However, whether two people can love each other is dependent on whether they can share the sweet, sour, bitter, and spicy aspects of life.

“To see whether ‘love’ can exist in harmony, you have to see whether the other person will remain with you should you lose a leg or arm. Good things may not happen in life. Everyone is powerless to change some personal habits. I would regard [the person] as a sick patient. Let me ask you, would you start counting the issues with a patient? If you can ‘cure’ him, then that is another matter. Otherwise, do not intend to change him/her. If he goes to the bathroom and does not flush the toilet, you flush it for him! Even if you blame him for snoring, you should accept it because he does not want to be this way…. Always focus on positive thinking; if you gather your strength collectively, wouldn’t it be better to open up a better future together? This is a tolerant attitude and I am the object of such tolerance!

A Thousand Years’ Effort To Sleep On the Same Pillow

“In life, many small and large matters are realized through love, in which love is accumulated and then reflected upon, and where processes can be sustained in the presence of love. In exercising today’s marriages, a pair of newlyweds make commitments to each other under the presence of a multitude of seated family members and friends. They are driven too much by a formal objective and stay together due to a promise. If there were no promise, then does that mean you do not have the condition to love?

“Have you ever considered why your partner sleeps by your side? As the old saying goes: ‘a hundred years’ efforts is required to cross in the same ferryboat; a thousand years effort is required to sleep on the same pillow’ [it takes a long time to match romantic fates and thus a marriage should be cherished 百年修得同船渡,千年修得共枕眠]. As a modern man, I will say, ‘Even if you have a 10,000 square feet mansion, it is incomparable to having someone wait for you to come home to a 100 square feet suite.’ Who is the person sleeping next to me? I will not tell you!”

Wong He definitely won’t miss TVB (Part 2)

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Born with the name Kuang Ngai Yi (鄺毅怡),Wong He changed his name upon entering the industry. During his career at TVB, Wong He was often ‘criticized’ for changing scripts and was once implicated by Virginia Lok as being a ‘troublesome employee’. Asked whether he will miss TVB or is reluctant to leave, Wong He answers unhesitatingly: “No!”

** ** The below are Wong He’s own words as recorded by the reporter (continued from previous article):

Back when I first joined TVB and started filming series, I noticed that the scripts had a lot of repetitious, sloppy dialogue…I wanted to help polish up the scripts a bit, as I understood that sometimes one script would be written by 5 or 6 different scriptwriters and so at times, there could be inconsistencies with writing style, flow of the storyline, as well as character development. To me, an artist is the last person ‘guarding the gate’, sort of like a quality control person – I didn’t want an oversight by the scriptwriter to cause the character to be ruined, so I would often make some modifications to my own character, usually modifying the dialogue so that the character makes more sense. Unfortunately, this intention was misinterpreted and later turned into the ‘big sin’ of always changing other people’s scripts.

Nonconformity often gets punished

Back when I filmed the first "Burning Flame" installment, my character was accepted by audiences and I became ‘popular’, however rumors started to circulate that I was arrogantly trying to ‘teach’ veteran actress Law Koon Lan (TN: she played Wong He’s mother in the series) how to act! Due to our roles, of course we had a lot of mother/son scenes together, so it was important to communicate closely – Law Koon Lan understood the truth and neither one of us allowed the rumors to affect us, otherwise, we wouldn’t have been able to do the emotional crying scenes so realistically. Later on, when I was filming "Burning Flame 3", I was on location shooting a difficult scene with mudslides and all – some reporters came to visit and one of them asked for my response toward a situation that had occurred. He told me that Virginia Lok had accepted an interview with a radio show hosted by Sandra Ng and during the interview, she implied that Wong He is a ‘difficult to handle’ artist. I remember my response to the reporter at the time was: “Virginia Lok never ‘handled’ me, so how would she know that I’m ‘difficult to handle’?” Then I told that reporter to go ask artists who were ‘handled’ by her instead.

Later on, it was misunderstood that I purposefully terminated my contract with TVB. In reality, ever since I signed a new contract with TVB in 2006, it has been in effect for the past 5 years and only expires in September of this year. Whether there will be any more collaborations with TVB in the future, it’s very hard to say – the artists are usually the passive ones.

80 lines of dialogue

You ask me what type of effect being associated with Mr. Chan has on me and what type of jobs I’ve been getting after he was arrested in March 2010? Well, in the sitcom "Some Day", I was supposed to be in 80 episodes, but in the end, I only got less than 80 lines of dialogue. Then, in 2009, after filming the series "Twilight Investigation", I did not receive any more series to film – it wasn’t until later that the department in charge of variety shows and special programs (completely separate from the drama department) contacted me and asked me to film 2 variety specials, "Three Gorges" and "Hong Kong Back Then". Everyone can see that I didn’t get any other jobs from them! You ask me if I will miss TVB or if I’m reluctant to leave them? I can absolutely tell you: No!

Shirley Yeung Willing To Help Stephen Chan Again For Free; Wayne Lai Looks Forward to Another “Be My Guest”

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Last year, Stephen Chan (陳志雲) was at Olympian City to hold a promotional event for his new book, Stephen 14.2 Preferred Choice (tentative title)《志雲14.2首選》. Under a situation where he allegedly did not disclose that a sponsorship fee has been given, he invited artistes Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), Tavia Yeung (楊怡), Shirley Yeung (楊思琦), Sharon Chan (陳敏之), Skye Chan (陳倩揚) and etc to attend that event for free.

As a result, Stephen was suspected to be in cahoots with the director of Idea Empire Advertising and Production Company, Edthancy Tseng (叢培崑), and had allegedly concealed the existence of a sponsorship fee. Yesterday, the judge of the lawsuit pronounced Stephen Chan as being not guilty of the bribery and fraud charges.

Shirley Yeung, Wayne Lai, Charmaine Sheh, Sharon Chan and etc who had a part in attending the book promotion on that fateful day, all felt rather happy upon knowing that Stephen Chan was pronounced not guilty and has been acquitted.

Wayne Lai happy for Stephen Chan, looks forward to the next season of “Be My Guest”

After learning that Stephen Chan was acquitted of all charges yesterday, Wayne Lai said, “I feel happy for Mr Chan, safe and sound now! He is a very talented man who had worked hard for TVB for many years now. I don’t know whether my statement to court was favorable to him but I believe in the court’s verdict.” Asked whether he had contacted Stephen Chan, Wayne professed that privately, he wasn’t on familiar terms with Stephen and only communicated with him over work-related matters. However, if he was to bump into Stephen someday, he would definitely ask after Stephen and congratulate him personally.

When asked about whether he was looking forward to another season of Be My Guest《志雲飯局》hosted by Stephen, Wayne replied, “Looking forward! Because Mr Chan hosted it well, such that it was so good to watch. I have always admired him, whether it was his restrain even though he is a General Manager (Wayne probably meant being modest and humble) or his identity as a performer as he had created many good programs.”

Charmaine Sheh heaves a sigh of relief

After learning that Stephen was not pronounced guilty and has been released of all charges, Shirley Yeung responded, “Very happy, congratulations to Mr Chan! The investigation and the hearings took a relatively long time, many friends and colleagues were concerned about his news and only heaved a sigh of relief after knowing the final verdict. Very happy!” Asked whether she was on better terms with Stephen Chan or Virginia Lok (樂易玲), Shirley’s face went embarrassed and said, “Both of them are very good. Please don’t make things difficult for a small employee like me.” Asked whether she would clarify with the company first if Stephen were to invite her to another event again in the future, Shirley responded, “No problem if the company asks me to attend. What if he personally invites me? I don’t think there will be! Actually, every time before attending an event, I will always ask for the content and the theme of the event. If Mr Chan invites me, I will attend it.”

Charmaine Sheh who had earlier on declared that she didn’t wish to attend events for free in her statement to court, expressed yesterday, “Knowing that Manager Chan is okay, everyone heaved a sigh of relief, I feel happy for him!”

Louis Yuen uploads a picture of a colored cloud; Sharon Chan excited

Louis Yuen (阮兆祥) uploaded a picture of a pink cloud in the form of a heart shape onto Weibo and typed, “Heard a piece of good news upon waking up. Stephen (Chan), hope you would recollect your feelings and have a brand new start, bless that everything will be good for you!”

Upon seeing Louis Yuen’s tweet, Sharon Chan immediately replied to it, “Thank God! Thank God! This is really great! A day that makes one feel emotional and excited!” Sharon later accepted a telephone interview and said, “I feel happy for him, I’m also very excited! Actually I have always been worried hence I had always prayed for him and he’s alright now!”

Hacken Lee asks Manager Chan to give a treat

Hacken Lee (李克勤) expressed that he feels happy for Stephen Chan and said, “I will ask him to give a dinner treat.” Asked whether he would discuss with Stephen about returning back to film for TVB at the same time, Hacken responded, “This isn’t some topic a “paper tiger” like me can discuss about, I shall leave it to my company to discuss! Although we (Stephen Chan and him) don’t have diplomatic ties as we work for different companies, it doesn’t mean that we aren’t friends. We do contact each other privately. Stephen Chan’s really very eloquent. It would be good if he could host another program again. But Stephen’s so smart, I’m sure he already made some plans and mapped up something already lahs!”

Joey Yung (容祖兒) also commented on Stephen Chan’s acquittal, “A huge congratulations to Mr Chan. This matter has finally come to an end. Hope that he will throw himself into work as soon as possible and get back on track. I hope to ask him out for dinner to celebrate!”
