G.E.M announces good news: I'm married (a joke)

Wednesday, September 07, 2011 Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments

G.E.M's GET EVERYBODY MOVING CONCERT 2011 part 2 is held this Friday and Saturday. Compared to part 1, there were some changes made to certain parts of the concert this year. Currently busy rehearsing, GEM recently learned that her loyal fan (Angel), who suffers from a rare muscle tumor condition, was disappointed that she wasn't able to buy a ticket because on the day the tickets went on sale, she had be at the hospital for treatment. Yesterday GEM especially invited Angel to meet her at Hong Kong Coliseum and got in touch with the sponsor to leave a ticket for her.

GEM said: "When I saw Angel's condition, I realized that my problems isn't so big after all. I'm always troubled by such small matters, but in fact there are many people in this world who are experiencing much more difficult problems!" Earlier GEM recorded a special video clip to support Angel while she undergo medical treatment. Angel said frankly that GEM gave her a lot of encouragement.

On GEM's right index finger, she had a 'wedding ring' on. She happily reveals that she just got married. She said: "Yesterday I married God and this is the wedding ring. A few days ago, when I was rehearsing with my band, I suddenly felt that if I could sing to God, how great would that be? Then I decided to ask a priest to baptize me. So happy!" When asked if she'll invite boyfriend Yoga Lin to the concert? She laughed: "I'm already married, why still asking about a boyfriend?"

Kate Tsui denies fighting for more screen time with Fala Chen

Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments

TVB series Lives of Omission is currently a popular hit, making Michael Tse and Kate Tsui the target on magazine reports. It was said after Stephen Chan resumed his position at TVB, he plans to boost his favorites Wong He and Wayne Lai up for TV King, shattering Michael's dreams. Kate also asked the producer to new series Schemes of East and West to give her more screen time, so she can defeat Fala Chen. However, her plans failed and therefore she withdrew from the series.

Yesterday Michael and Kate took part in the recording of 全城喜動 in Macau. Towards the related reports, Kate had a big reaction and explained: "Never heard of such thing. This is quite interesting, I did discuss a script and role with Producer Tommy Leung, but because of schedule conflicts, I couldn't take part in the series. (You don't want to collaborate with Fala?) No such thing, why would that be so? We just completed a series together. (Is it not 'if there is her, then there is no you'?) Why would that be? TVB already has a shortage of people, so they are happy when there are more people coming. Perhaps there will be more time to earn some extra money. (Fala is your greatest opponent for this year's TV Queen title?) I know I already have 5 series broadcast this year, but I personally support Myolie Wu. I heard her performance in Queen of All is awesome."

Michael just expressed: "I don't have to comment on this, there are too many of these fabricated news. (Stephen Chan made everyone in TVB split in groups and parties again?) In fact it is not Mr. Chan splitting the groups on his own, it is the public that is helping him do so. I feel that we all have the same goal, and that is to work for TVB."

Wong Hei: “I Will Never Get Married In My Lifetime!”

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Caption: Wong Hei shopping with good friend, Ming Jai.

Wong Hei’s (王喜) love life has often been a discussion topic. His significant other was exposed by the media as cohabitation partner, “Cousin” Ming Jai. Surprisingly, several years ago, Wong Hei’s ex-girlfriend was revealed to be DJ Kawaii. As to whether Wong Hei loved men or women, he was reluctant in clarifying the matter. Disagreeing with traditional marriage concepts, Wong Hei professed that he will not marry for the rest of his life!

Wong Hei revealed, “I am already 44-years-old. My mother did not ask me whether I will get married or not, since I have already ‘announced’ that I have no intention of getting married. In modern society, not everyone needs to get married. I have to admit that I advocate the ‘polygamous’ system while modern society pursues a monogamous marriage. Due to modern lifestyles, there are many problems in how people interact with each other. In a one-to-one [relationship], there is no way to divert one’s attention. When you see your partner gaining weight and losing hair, the other half has no choice; it is not easy to travel through an entire lifetime in a one-to-one arrangement!

Not To Be Deceived By A Love Story

“Today’s information systems are rich and developed, offering many variables for people to choose. Men can pair with women, men can pair with men, and women pair with women. Who will I pair with? Ha ha…. I can only say that I have two cats (to accompany me). However, I understand the importance of communication between two living beings. Do not be deceived by a love story. The person you are living with is not the person you love. The illusion of the person you love may deliver a certain impression. However, whether two people can love each other is dependent on whether they can share the sweet, sour, bitter, and spicy aspects of life.

“To see whether ‘love’ can exist in harmony, you have to see whether the other person will remain with you should you lose a leg or arm. Good things may not happen in life. Everyone is powerless to change some personal habits. I would regard [the person] as a sick patient. Let me ask you, would you start counting the issues with a patient? If you can ‘cure’ him, then that is another matter. Otherwise, do not intend to change him/her. If he goes to the bathroom and does not flush the toilet, you flush it for him! Even if you blame him for snoring, you should accept it because he does not want to be this way…. Always focus on positive thinking; if you gather your strength collectively, wouldn’t it be better to open up a better future together? This is a tolerant attitude and I am the object of such tolerance!

A Thousand Years’ Effort To Sleep On the Same Pillow

“In life, many small and large matters are realized through love, in which love is accumulated and then reflected upon, and where processes can be sustained in the presence of love. In exercising today’s marriages, a pair of newlyweds make commitments to each other under the presence of a multitude of seated family members and friends. They are driven too much by a formal objective and stay together due to a promise. If there were no promise, then does that mean you do not have the condition to love?

“Have you ever considered why your partner sleeps by your side? As the old saying goes: ‘a hundred years’ efforts is required to cross in the same ferryboat; a thousand years effort is required to sleep on the same pillow’ [it takes a long time to match romantic fates and thus a marriage should be cherished 百年修得同船渡,千年修得共枕眠]. As a modern man, I will say, ‘Even if you have a 10,000 square feet mansion, it is incomparable to having someone wait for you to come home to a 100 square feet suite.’ Who is the person sleeping next to me? I will not tell you!”

Wong He definitely won’t miss TVB (Part 2)

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Born with the name Kuang Ngai Yi (鄺毅怡),Wong He changed his name upon entering the industry. During his career at TVB, Wong He was often ‘criticized’ for changing scripts and was once implicated by Virginia Lok as being a ‘troublesome employee’. Asked whether he will miss TVB or is reluctant to leave, Wong He answers unhesitatingly: “No!”

** ** The below are Wong He’s own words as recorded by the reporter (continued from previous article):

Back when I first joined TVB and started filming series, I noticed that the scripts had a lot of repetitious, sloppy dialogue…I wanted to help polish up the scripts a bit, as I understood that sometimes one script would be written by 5 or 6 different scriptwriters and so at times, there could be inconsistencies with writing style, flow of the storyline, as well as character development. To me, an artist is the last person ‘guarding the gate’, sort of like a quality control person – I didn’t want an oversight by the scriptwriter to cause the character to be ruined, so I would often make some modifications to my own character, usually modifying the dialogue so that the character makes more sense. Unfortunately, this intention was misinterpreted and later turned into the ‘big sin’ of always changing other people’s scripts.

Nonconformity often gets punished

Back when I filmed the first "Burning Flame" installment, my character was accepted by audiences and I became ‘popular’, however rumors started to circulate that I was arrogantly trying to ‘teach’ veteran actress Law Koon Lan (TN: she played Wong He’s mother in the series) how to act! Due to our roles, of course we had a lot of mother/son scenes together, so it was important to communicate closely – Law Koon Lan understood the truth and neither one of us allowed the rumors to affect us, otherwise, we wouldn’t have been able to do the emotional crying scenes so realistically. Later on, when I was filming "Burning Flame 3", I was on location shooting a difficult scene with mudslides and all – some reporters came to visit and one of them asked for my response toward a situation that had occurred. He told me that Virginia Lok had accepted an interview with a radio show hosted by Sandra Ng and during the interview, she implied that Wong He is a ‘difficult to handle’ artist. I remember my response to the reporter at the time was: “Virginia Lok never ‘handled’ me, so how would she know that I’m ‘difficult to handle’?” Then I told that reporter to go ask artists who were ‘handled’ by her instead.

Later on, it was misunderstood that I purposefully terminated my contract with TVB. In reality, ever since I signed a new contract with TVB in 2006, it has been in effect for the past 5 years and only expires in September of this year. Whether there will be any more collaborations with TVB in the future, it’s very hard to say – the artists are usually the passive ones.

80 lines of dialogue

You ask me what type of effect being associated with Mr. Chan has on me and what type of jobs I’ve been getting after he was arrested in March 2010? Well, in the sitcom "Some Day", I was supposed to be in 80 episodes, but in the end, I only got less than 80 lines of dialogue. Then, in 2009, after filming the series "Twilight Investigation", I did not receive any more series to film – it wasn’t until later that the department in charge of variety shows and special programs (completely separate from the drama department) contacted me and asked me to film 2 variety specials, "Three Gorges" and "Hong Kong Back Then". Everyone can see that I didn’t get any other jobs from them! You ask me if I will miss TVB or if I’m reluctant to leave them? I can absolutely tell you: No!

Shirley Yeung Willing To Help Stephen Chan Again For Free; Wayne Lai Looks Forward to Another “Be My Guest”

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Last year, Stephen Chan (陳志雲) was at Olympian City to hold a promotional event for his new book, Stephen 14.2 Preferred Choice (tentative title)《志雲14.2首選》. Under a situation where he allegedly did not disclose that a sponsorship fee has been given, he invited artistes Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), Tavia Yeung (楊怡), Shirley Yeung (楊思琦), Sharon Chan (陳敏之), Skye Chan (陳倩揚) and etc to attend that event for free.

As a result, Stephen was suspected to be in cahoots with the director of Idea Empire Advertising and Production Company, Edthancy Tseng (叢培崑), and had allegedly concealed the existence of a sponsorship fee. Yesterday, the judge of the lawsuit pronounced Stephen Chan as being not guilty of the bribery and fraud charges.

Shirley Yeung, Wayne Lai, Charmaine Sheh, Sharon Chan and etc who had a part in attending the book promotion on that fateful day, all felt rather happy upon knowing that Stephen Chan was pronounced not guilty and has been acquitted.

Wayne Lai happy for Stephen Chan, looks forward to the next season of “Be My Guest”

After learning that Stephen Chan was acquitted of all charges yesterday, Wayne Lai said, “I feel happy for Mr Chan, safe and sound now! He is a very talented man who had worked hard for TVB for many years now. I don’t know whether my statement to court was favorable to him but I believe in the court’s verdict.” Asked whether he had contacted Stephen Chan, Wayne professed that privately, he wasn’t on familiar terms with Stephen and only communicated with him over work-related matters. However, if he was to bump into Stephen someday, he would definitely ask after Stephen and congratulate him personally.

When asked about whether he was looking forward to another season of Be My Guest《志雲飯局》hosted by Stephen, Wayne replied, “Looking forward! Because Mr Chan hosted it well, such that it was so good to watch. I have always admired him, whether it was his restrain even though he is a General Manager (Wayne probably meant being modest and humble) or his identity as a performer as he had created many good programs.”

Charmaine Sheh heaves a sigh of relief

After learning that Stephen was not pronounced guilty and has been released of all charges, Shirley Yeung responded, “Very happy, congratulations to Mr Chan! The investigation and the hearings took a relatively long time, many friends and colleagues were concerned about his news and only heaved a sigh of relief after knowing the final verdict. Very happy!” Asked whether she was on better terms with Stephen Chan or Virginia Lok (樂易玲), Shirley’s face went embarrassed and said, “Both of them are very good. Please don’t make things difficult for a small employee like me.” Asked whether she would clarify with the company first if Stephen were to invite her to another event again in the future, Shirley responded, “No problem if the company asks me to attend. What if he personally invites me? I don’t think there will be! Actually, every time before attending an event, I will always ask for the content and the theme of the event. If Mr Chan invites me, I will attend it.”

Charmaine Sheh who had earlier on declared that she didn’t wish to attend events for free in her statement to court, expressed yesterday, “Knowing that Manager Chan is okay, everyone heaved a sigh of relief, I feel happy for him!”

Louis Yuen uploads a picture of a colored cloud; Sharon Chan excited

Louis Yuen (阮兆祥) uploaded a picture of a pink cloud in the form of a heart shape onto Weibo and typed, “Heard a piece of good news upon waking up. Stephen (Chan), hope you would recollect your feelings and have a brand new start, bless that everything will be good for you!”

Upon seeing Louis Yuen’s tweet, Sharon Chan immediately replied to it, “Thank God! Thank God! This is really great! A day that makes one feel emotional and excited!” Sharon later accepted a telephone interview and said, “I feel happy for him, I’m also very excited! Actually I have always been worried hence I had always prayed for him and he’s alright now!”

Hacken Lee asks Manager Chan to give a treat

Hacken Lee (李克勤) expressed that he feels happy for Stephen Chan and said, “I will ask him to give a dinner treat.” Asked whether he would discuss with Stephen about returning back to film for TVB at the same time, Hacken responded, “This isn’t some topic a “paper tiger” like me can discuss about, I shall leave it to my company to discuss! Although we (Stephen Chan and him) don’t have diplomatic ties as we work for different companies, it doesn’t mean that we aren’t friends. We do contact each other privately. Stephen Chan’s really very eloquent. It would be good if he could host another program again. But Stephen’s so smart, I’m sure he already made some plans and mapped up something already lahs!”

Joey Yung (容祖兒) also commented on Stephen Chan’s acquittal, “A huge congratulations to Mr Chan. This matter has finally come to an end. Hope that he will throw himself into work as soon as possible and get back on track. I hope to ask him out for dinner to celebrate!”

Wong Hei Blasts Virginia Lok On His Last Day At TVB

Posted by Admin 0 comments
As they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day thus grudges weren’t accumulated overnight too. Yesterday was the first day that Stephen Chan (陳志雲) had officially returned to TVB after his acquittal while contradictory, it was instead Wong Hei’s (王喜) last day at TVB.

During his years as an employee in TVB, Wong Hei had accumulated tons of vendetta with Virginia Lok (樂易玲). Yesterday, Wong Hei even took one last parting glance and “split into two different routes”, blasting Virginia of being pretentious during the outdoor filming and over popular Chinese micro-blogging social site, Weibo.

Wong Hei has always determinedly stood by TVB Broadcasting Affairs General Manager, Stephen Chan, and never given up on him. Wong Hei had also been accused of locking horns with TVB Production and Resource Director, Virginia Lok, and thus, as a result, he sowed in the sorry plight of not receiving a contract renewal from TVB.

Even before Stephen’s lawsuit has ended, the issue of the contract renewal between Wong Hei and TVB had already been blown up out of all proportion. It was even heavily rumored that TVB had requested Wong Hei to end his contract prematurely and even stopped the program he was hosting.

However, the TVB Artistry Department soon made a clarification and Wong Hei had completed all the episodes of the program he was hosting. Earlier on, when Virginia Lok accepted an interview, she expressed that they would invite Wong Hei to act if there are any suitable drama series for him. Virginia also said that they have adopted the same working relationship with Adam Cheng (鄭少秋) and Idy Chan (陳玉蓮).

Yesterday was, in fact, Wong Hei’s last day of work at TVB and he spent it filming outdoors at So Uk Estate with former Miss HK Sammi Cheung (張秀文) for TVB program, Hong Kong Back Then《香港演義》.

Please don’t force her to lie again

Wong Hei who was not going to be contractually bound by TVB anymore, went to a cafeteria for some breakfast and chatted with the filming crew and the neighborhood before getting into position for filming. Asked about how he felt on his last day working for TVB, “Feeling easy lor.” (Reporter: Feeling completely relaxed?) “Yes, something like that.” (Did TVB find you for any new jobs?) “No, none at the moment.”

Asked about rumors that Virginia Lok immediately changed her tune after Stephen Chan was acquitted and said that they would find him back to act if they have any suitable job for him, Wong He laughed out loud upon hearing this and said words dripping with sarcasm, “Good ah! I shall await her phone call. And also, it’s not good for everyone to call her Ms Lok, we should address her by her marital surname, Mrs Chan. Furthermore, she has already given birth to two kids lahs, shouldn’t call until it sounds like she hasn’t gotten married yet.”

About Stephen Chan’s acquittal from all charges, would Wong Hei eat dinner with him to celebrate? Wong Hei responded, “Wait for him to call me lor, won’t specially go and celebrate.” Wong Hei revealed that after he finishes the TVB work, he will go to Beijing to film dramas. In the midst of filming, there will be a break for him to return back to Hong Kong. Asked whether Stephen’s acquittal made him feel more relieved at work now, Wong Hei replied, “Not good to say like I’m going to rest in peace (安心上路), life is like that lahs, there will be ups and downs everyday in life.”

On another platform, Wong Hei used Weibo to continue to blast Virginia Lok, urging everyone not to force Virginia to lie again. Wong Hei wrote as follows, “Everyone also knows that I’m Mr Chan’s (Stephen) friend. In the future, if I have any good developments in TVB, Stephen Chan will be scolded as practicing favoritism and using company’s assets for private uses. However, if I’m not developing well in TVB, Stephen Chan will also be rebuked as being an ingrate.”

Earlier when Wong Hei expressed that he wanted to draw a line with Stephen, he was in fact referring to his tweet above, in a bid to avoid letting the media associate his speech and acts as a representation of Stephen.

Wong Hei also directly revealed that the remarks of “We will find him if there is any suitable job” made by seasoned expert Virginia Lok was quite precise. Wong Hei continued, “I only have less than a month before my contract expires, still wait until then mehs?”

Wong Hei had also previously extracted lyrics of “Hatred which is like the sea and raging in every possible way”, from the theme song of The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber《倚天屠龍記》 and “Vowing to bring evil-doers to justice”, from the theme song of One Sword《一劍鎮神州》onto his Weibo account, thus incurring sensitivity to speculate. Wong Hei later explained on Weibo that these were drunken acts and even deleted those photos involved. Wong Hei also explained that this was his thing and had nothing to do with others.

It was not purely decided by me

With regards to Wong Hei’s snide comments, Virginia Lok accepted a telephone interview yesterday but expressed that she does not want to respond, in a bid to avoid letting it resemble a scolding match.

However, in light of the situation, Virginia clarified and said, “Firstly, the media did not force me and Secondly, I will not say a lie because of these matters. TVB has it’s own system. Every artiste’s contract or renewal of contract is not purely decided by me. The contract circumstances of every artiste, right down from the increase of pay to the number of events he or she attends, is discussed and decided upon meetings with the production department and director levels. It is not decided based on one person and is not completely decided by Mr Chan too.”

Virginia Lok also referred to Wong Hei as thinking too much. Virginia continued, “The Artistry Department will inform us about the situation of the artiste. If an artiste doesn’t have much jobs to do, we will recommend them to use them more often. If an artiste is overwhelmed with jobs, we will fight for him or her to be given adequate time to rest. I do not have to lie in terms of this aspect, I feel that Wong Hei has thought too much.”

Virginia professed that they had ever took Wong Hei’s case to discuss, “At the end, the conclusion was that we will find him again if there are suitable jobs for him.”

As for being addressed “Mrs Chan” by Wong Hei, Virginia replied, “It doesn’t matter. It is just a form of address. Many people also call me that.”

Amigo Chui doesn’t wish to stand in front of the camera yet.

Amigo Chui (崔建邦) who was once Stephen Chan’s “beloved general”, is currently holding the post of a filming assistant in TVB. Asked whether he had offered his congratulations to Stephen, Amigo replied, “I was of course happy to learn that he will be returning to TVB but I didn’t disturb him as I am currently busy being a filming assistant to Lee Tim-Shing’s (李添勝) new drama.”

Asked about rumors that Stephen Chan was helping him to pave the way to stage a comeback in front of the cameras, Amigo responded, “I have not thought about reprising work in front of the camera yet. Will I switch to the other now? There is no need to respond to rumors. Although I have seen Ho Lai-Chuen (何丽全) [former TVB high-ranking executive turned rival station now TV's Senior Vice President], I didn’t mention much about work-related matters.”

Sharon Chan denies she had Stephen Chan's support to get a leading role

Tuesday, September 06, 2011 Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments

Accused of being in the 'Stephen Party', TVB FaDans Sharon Chan and Fala Chen took part in the costume fitting for new series Schemes of East and West with Roger Kwok. Sharon was asked if its because she's Stephen Chan's favorite that she got the opportunity to take on the leading role? Sharon said: "Not related, this series was set several months ago. (Are you a loyal member of the 'Stephen Party'?) He is a good boss, friend and my mentor. He taught me how to be a host. We aren't in any party, just being ourselves." As part of the 'Stephen Party', Sharon sweet talked and thanked Virgina Lok for helping her fight for the opportunity to portray this role. When speaking of it being a benefit to her, now that Stephen is back in TVB? She said: "Didn't think about that. I am already thankful that he's fine. I was worried for a long time because before I was a 'witness' and it wasn't convenient for me to say too much. Now it's a sign of relief. I have SMS him and he replied that everything is going well."

As for Fala, she plays Chung Mo Yim. She expressed she has been mindful of Stephen's return, asked if she's part of the 'Stephen Party'? She joked: "Before they said I was part of the Tsang Jeh party (Catherine Tsang), then the Miss Lok party (Virgina Lok), I have been in all of the parties except for the villain party." Roger Kwok said he congratulates Stephen having new hopes after a disastrous period. He said: "We were familiar for a period before, but later I had to look after my son and shoot in Mainland, so we didn't keep in touch as much."

Also, yesterday Fala started shooting outdoor scenes for the new series and coincidentally encountered Film King Chow Yun Fat, who had paid attention to her performances before. Fala was jumping in joy when she saw him and asked for a photo together to post on Weibo. She wrote: "Fat Gor stood behind me and watched me perform. I worked hard trying to concentrate, aiya, so pressuring!" Koni Lui also got to take a photo with Chow Yun Fat.

The Rebirth of Stephen Chan and Reversal of Fate for His Supporters?

Posted by Admin 0 comments
TVB’s General Manager, Stephen Chan (陳志雲), has been acquitted of bribery and fraud charges. He will regain his full authority upon his return to TVB. With Stephen’s return, the probable change in TVB’s higher management hierarchy system became a growing concern.

During his entanglement in the case for the past 18 months, Stephen’s “beloved generals” under his camp were rumored to have their jobs lessened due to the loss of Stephen’s powerful backing. The first to bear the brunt of Stephen’s previous fall from power was Wong Hei (王喜), who stuck with Stephen through thick and thin. Wong Hei had suffered in grief when he was asked to compensate TVB in order to terminate his contract with them early.

Now that Stephen was vindicated, “Stephen Chan’s camp” may see a reversal of fate anytime now. Patrick Tang (鄧健泓), who addressed Stephen as “Honey”, excitedly shouted, “Mr. Chan is a free man now!” On the other hand, Wong Hei, who obviously felt much more relieved now, had a huge smile plastered across his face. Apart from receiving a public display of gratitude from Stephen Chan, Wong Hei also received many congratulatory messages from netizens that he had not waited and stood by Stephen in vain.

Ever since Stephen Chan was implicated in a law suit and lost his managerial power, some members of the “Stephen Chan’s camp” saw a significant drop in their jobs, such as Patrick Tang and Louis Cheung (張繼聰). Out of these members, Wong Hei was the most loyal and faithful as he didn’t forsake Stephen and even stuck by his side during those turbulent times. Besides buying pomelo leaves for Stephen to wash off the bad luck, Wong Hei even became an umbrella-bearer and accompanied him to court. As he stuck with Stephen through thick and thin, it was heavily rumored that, as a result, Wong Hei did not receive a contract renewal from TVB. Without Stephen Chan’s support, Amigo Chui (崔建邦) was fired upon making mistakes and had to change occupation to become a lowly-paid filming assistant and work his way from the bottom once again.

Wong Hei Sleepless Before the Hearing But Smiled Contently Afterwards

After Stephen Chan’s corruption case was settled, he could, at any time, be involved in managing the artists’ external affairs once again. Apart from having a bunch of his “beloved generals” who were happy for him, the future ahead looked optimistic for “Stephen Chan’s camp” too. On the eve of the lawsuit, Wong Hei left a message on Weibo at 3:45 AM in the morning and revealed that he was suffering from insomnia and couldn’t get to sleep. At 7:50AM in the morning, while on the way to court, Wong Hei uploaded a photo of his troubled face on Weibo, clearly worried over the lawsuit of his good friend Stephen. Wong Hei’s distress persisted all the way until the verdict cleared Stephen of all the charges. At 1:48PM in the afternoon, Wong Hei uploaded a photo of himself in a grocery store, wearing a bamboo hat and holding a bamboo fan. In the photo, Wong Hei appeared in high spirits and wrote, “Clear skies after a dark cloud.” In the word “cloud,” Wong Hei replaced it with a letter of Stephen Chan’s name (雲) hence giving the impression that he was also trying to say that Stephen’s darkest moments are already over (雲過天青). It was however not known whether Wong Hei had bought pomelo leaves for Stephen Chan to bathe in again.

Members of “Stephen Chan’s Camp” Speak Up

Wong Hei: “Work and Life Remain Status Quo”

It was most interesting to note that netizens congratulated Wong Hei more than they had congratulated Stephen Chan. Netizens praised Wong Hei for being loyal and faithful, while wishing that Wong Hei will receive good returns and will be rewarded for his efforts. Besides that, they also hoped that Wong Hei will renew his contract with TVB as soon as possible. When Wong Hei accepted an interview, he responded, “Mr. Stephen Chan had already expressed his feelings to everyone. I don’t have anything else to add (onto his words). We will continue to work and lead our lives as per normal. Thank you everyone.” Asked about netizens’ wishes that he would renew his contract with TVB as soon as possible when they congratulated him previously, Wong Hei declined to respond.

Patrick Tang Excitedly Shouted “Awesome!”

Patrick Tang expressed that he was exhilarated by Stephen Chan’s acquittal. Yesterday before performing a theater drama on stage, Patrick happily accepted an interview and said, “I’m happy because Mr. Chan (Stephen) has been acquitted of all charges. It’s priceless to be able to regain one’s freedom. He is not only my talent scout but also my mentor who have taught me many things. Many colleagues also support him, gathering everyone’s sense of justice to have such a fair verdict. Patrick mentioned that in the morning when a friend told him about the good news, he repeatedly and excitedly shouted at his friend, “Mr. Chan is free! Awesome!” Asked whether he would ask Stephen out for dinner to celebrate, Patrick revealed that he would have meals with Stephen on a monthly basis in the past, chit chatting about life-related matters. Thus, if Stephen invited him for a celebratory dinner, he would definitely attend it. Patrick also said that he had already sent him a text message yesterday to congratulate him. With Stephen Chan’s rise in power again, will it mean more jobs for Patrick? Patrick replied that he actually has plenty of jobs this year and these include filming of dramas, theater performances and other projects but will continue to work hard and hoped to gain recognition from everyone else.

Steven Ma: “The Legislative System of Hong Kong is Impartial”

Steven Ma (馬浚偉) was happy for Stephen Chan and felt that the legislative system of Hong Kong was impartial. Steven also hoped that Stephen will continue to lead the company to better developments upon his return to “office.” Yesterday after Steven sent a text message to ask after him, Stephen followed up with a “thank you” reply.

Coson Leung (寧進) who had earlier been invited to ICAC to assist in the investigations, expressed on Weibo last night that he believed Stephen and others will turn out fine and even used Stephen Chan’s golden phrase, “What is true cannot be fake; what is fake cannot be true; you guys will definitely be alright.”

Louis Cheung Wishes Stephen Chan to Continue Leading a Happy Life

Yesterday night, Louis Cheung attended a basketball competition commercial event. Louis expressed that he had already sent a text message to ask after Stephen and was happy for him as a friend. Since everything has come to an end, Louis hoped that Stephen will continue to be happy in life. Asked whether he hoped that Stephen will help him out by increasing his jobs in TVB, Louis responded that he worked hard at any opportunity that was given to him. He also remarked that he usually equipped himself well. For example, the previous time when he was rumored to be “frozen,” he just tried his best to complete each job well. Louis Cheung’s wife, Kay Tse (謝安琪), also revealed that Stephen replied to her message, saying that he hoped everyone could come together for a gathering.

Another of Stephen Chan’s “beloved generals,” Snow Suen (孫慧雪), returned to TVB City yesterday. When interviewed, Snow replied, “Congratulations to Mr. Chan. Most happy that everyone was alright and everything was successful.” (Reporter: Do you wish to work with Stephen again?) “Only if the company is okay with such an arrangement. I also wish to have more jobs on hand.”

Stephen Chan’s Powers Resurrected; Danger for Virginia Lok’s Camp Ahead?

Posted by Admin 0 comments
TVB’s General Manager of Broadcasting Affairs, Stephen Chan (陳志雲) has been successfully acquitted of his bribery and fraud charges. Stephen will make a mighty comeback to TVB, starting tomorrow. This might spell danger for TVB’s Production and Resource Director Virginia Lok (樂易玲), who had testified against Stephen in court. Virginia was, in fact, spotted with watery eyes while watching the news of Stephen’s acquittal yesterday. It was thus rumored that Virginia will leave her position this coming November.

The “beloved generals” under the “Virginia Lok camp,” Raymond Lam (林峯), Michael Tse (謝天華) and Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) initially had high chances of winning the TV King and TV Queen award at the year-end TVB Anniversary Awards. But now that the tide has turned against their favor with Stephen’s return to power. The priority to win those TV King and Queen awards were given to those “Stephen Chan camp” members who had not waited for his return in vain and they include Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), Steven Ma (馬浚偉), Fala Chen (陳法拉) and Tavia Yeung (楊怡).

Following Stephen Chan’s majestic return to TVB, Stephen who had earlier seen his fair share of loyal subjects and traitors during his fall from power, was rumored to be launching operation vengeance upon his comeback. This re-ignited the heavily rumored power struggle between the “Stephen Chan camp” and the “Virginia Lok camp.” Virginia Lok had earlier submitted a testimony against Stephen Chan, citing him as “selling artists like clueless piglets that are to be slaughtered” (meaning allegedly selling artists to event organizers without their prior knowledge or consent and arranging them to be there without paying them or TVB for it).

When asked yesterday, Virginia denied that she had resigned in a bid to avoid Stephen, “How is that possible? No, I won’t. It was so tough to wait for such a perfect ending to this matter. Also, nothing has happened and our morale was revived instead so why would I want to resign? Hopefully there won’t be any more unhappy matters.” (Reporter: Did you contact Stephen?) “I did send a short text message to him. After knowing that he will return back to work this coming Monday, I didn’t disturb him anymore. I will talk to him when he returns “to work.” (Heard that Wong Hei (王喜) who was under Stephen Chan’s camp, was targeted earlier on?) “TVB has never changed our position towards Wong Hei. TVB is currently short of manpower. It was because he (Wong Hei) had to shoot a mainland drama and couldn’t fork out time. As long as the drama is suitable and he wishes to return, TVB will welcome him back at any time.”

Myolie Wu: “We Have Never Split Into Camps”

Raymond Lam was rumored to be one of Virginia Lok’s “beloved general.” There were also speculations that “Virginia Lok’s camp” has lost its status and could thus turn from winning anniversary awards to not winning any awards anytime now. In reply to this, Raymond responded, “There have always been such rumors. Awards are not the most important to me. The most important is to win recognition from the audience.”

Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) who re-captured the audience’s spotlight through her performance in Ghetto Justice "怒火街頭", will be attending the TVB Anniversary Awards with her battle masterpiece, The Queen of All "萬凰之王". Myolie expressed, “We have never split into camps. I’m not worried about the awards. The most important is to do your own job well.”

Wayne Lai who was rumored to have the chance to win the TV King award for the third consecutive time based on his capacity as a “Stephen Chan camp” member, replied, “I wish to clarify. Actually it was during the Rosy Business <巾幗梟雄> period that I had more performances and thus, had more work communications with Mr. Chan but we were not on familiar terms with each other. By saying that I’m under the ‘Stephen Chan camp’ is really thinking too highly of me. Furthermore, Forensic Heroes 3 <法證先鋒3> has yet to premiere, hence my confidence towards winning the TV King award is still 50-50. The TV King award involves many elements including the number of votes voted, which is according to public opinion. Of course, I obviously wish to become TV King for the third consecutive time and to make history. However, I also look highly upon Raymond Lam and Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎).” (Reporter: But they are all from the “Virginia Lok camp” who have lost power!) “It’s also not differentiated under that clearly lahs.”

Steven Ma Grateful to Stephen Chan for Fulfilling His Dreams

Fala Chen who has been labeled under the “Stephen Chan camp,” emphasized that she was not split into any camps. Asked whether she felt that her chances of winning the TV Queen award would increase significantly, Fala responded, “It is still one month away from the TVB Anniversary Awards. The TVB Anniversary show is not out yet hence it is still too soon to tell. Winning of awards does not depend on the higher management staff. It is reliant on the role and the ratings of the drama.”

Steven Ma, who was rumored to be under the “Stephen Chan camp,” professed that his work chemistry with Ms. Lok (Virginia) wasn’t as high. Steven continued, “I admit that during July last year when I sat down to discuss my TVB contract renewal with Ms. Lok, we didn’t rub off each other well and I was without any jobs for one whole month. After that, I was fortunate to receive Mr. Chan and Catherina Tsang’s (曾勵珍) assistance. Mr. Chan even promised to shoot Apprentice Chef <大廚出馬> and he did carry it out. In fact, Mr. Chan has helped me to fulfill many of my wishes.” (Reporter: Do you have the confidence to win an award?) “I do not know whether I belong to the ‘Stephen Chan camp’ but I have always adopted a ‘follow fate’ approach regarding the awards and anyway, my mentor is Catherine Jeh and not Mr. Chan.”

Steven Chan and Wong Hei swore to bring trouble-makers to justice

Sings karaoke to celebrate, uses songs to relate meanings

Stephen Chan who was cleared of all earlier bribery and fraud charges, will be returning to “office” with a newly proclaimed innocence on Monday. Stephen will continue to work for TVB as a general manager. (He had already been reinstated as at November last year) Although the matter has officially come to an end, it was rumored that another bloodshedding scene was about to occur. Stephen Chan’s majestic return to TVB has been supported by Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of TVB, Mona Fong (方逸華) and new TVB boss,”Shell King” Charles Chan (陳國強). However, Stephen’s probable direct confrontation with the principal prosecution witness of his corruption trial, TVB’s Group General Manager Mark Lee Po-on (李寶安), upon his return to TVB was billed as the “show” to look out for.

Wong Hei who had sheltered Stephen against all odds during Stephen’s corruption lawsuit, was insanely happy for his friend’s acquittal. Yesterday morning, Wong Hei uploaded four photos on Weibo, seeming like he was using the songs to relate the meaning. Singing to the sentence, “Hatred which is like the sea and raging in every possible way”, from the theme song of The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber《倚天屠龍記》 and turning to sing another sentence, “Vowing to bring evil-doers to justice”, from the theme song of One Sword《一劍鎮神州》. It certainly leaves one wondering whether the extracted lyrics conveyed some special meaning and whether it was a form of warning for the internal strife that was approaching.

Ever since Stephen Chan was in trouble, Wong Hei did not bother about the rumors or cared one bit about the consequences of offending the senior management staff and accompanied Stephen to court hearings, throwing his implicit support behind Stephen with his actions. Wong Hei was even earlier rumored to have been requested to compensate and end his premature contract with TVB as a result. The day before yesterday, when the final hearing ended, upon knowing that Stephen has been acquitted, Wong Hei was even more emotional than Stephen himself. As it turned out, Wong Hei was supposed to be filming in the Mainland on that fateful day but specially requested for leave to return to support Stephen. Wong Hei also celebrated for Stephen that very night.

Raises cup to drink, karaoke song lyrics all carried a meaning

Wong Hei made a “live” report over Weibo, tweeting about the current happenings of their happy karaoke celebratory session. Although he looked alone and was holding up a wine glass in the photo, Wong Hei tweeted that he did a bad thing. Turned out that Wong Hei had made an exception from his Buddhism beliefs and drank wine. He even hilariously donned a plastic bag over his head and held the mike to sing at the same time. Wong Hei later captured a footage of the MV. The most intriguing part was the lyrics on the scene, “Transforming into a sword and vowing to rid the evil-doers” and “Feelings like the sky, wide like the ocean, hatred like the sea, raging in every possible way”. These two songs were sung by Adam Cheng (鄭少秋). The former song was from “One Sword” while the latter song was from ”The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber”. Both songs seemed to convey a special meaning and especially considering that they were sung by Wong Hei who abhor the evil-doer as a deadly foe, it was still uncertain whether he was singing out his inner thoughts at that point in time. The reporter had tried contacting Wong Hei yesterday but to no avail. It was known that Stephen had also returned to his residency late at night.

Virginia Lok denies leaving TVB

It was rumored that in a bid to avoid the battle, TVB’s Production and Resource Director Virginia Lok had prepared to leave TVB this coming November. Yesterday, in reply to this, Virginia responded, “Don’t be silly lahs! There’s no such thing.” Virginia professed that now is the time where there is a rainbow after the storm and morale is running high so everyone should give it their all and do an even better job. She hoped that there won’t be any more unfavorable rumors as everyone’s working together as one.

Maintains a collaborating work relationship with Wong Hei

Asked Virginia whether she’s trying to keep Wong Hei, Virginia expressed that Wong Hei was currently working in the Mainland. Even the last three episodes of Hong Kong Back Then《香港演義》was only completed when Wong Hei returned to Hong Kong after rejecting the jobs in the Mainland. Virginia continued to say, “I have always said that Wong Hei is TVB’s lead actor. The Burning Flame《烈火雄心》series that he acted in were extremely popular. He is a good actor. We will definitely invite him back if there is any role that suits him. Wong Hei’s situation is similar to Adam Cheng, Kenix Kwok (郭可盈) and Idy Chan (陳玉蓮) where we have maintained a close collaborating relationship with them. TVB needs many actors to conjure up different groups of acting performances.” Virginia also remarked that the entire matter regarding Wong Hei and TVB wasn’t as dramatic as perceived by the outside world. The matter had nothing to do with Stephen Chan. In actual fact, it was because Wong Hei had other external commitments and it also depends on whether he has a spare schedule.

The return of Stephen Chan marks liquidation for several artistes, Virginia Lok does not believe that there is a blacklisting list

With Stephen Chan’s falling back into position, it was believed that a storm was bound to be brewing. Some media reports speculated that Stephen would fight heavily for the artistry department thus not only was Virginia Lok’s position under threat, it was rumored that a bunch of actors and fadans were implicated and would be liquidated in a blacklisting move too. The blacklist apparently includes Virginia’s “most treasured artistes” such as Raymond Lam, Bosco Wong (黃宗澤), Michael Tse (謝天華) and Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) . With two giants in a power struggle, it was indeed inevitable if the artistes were to be used as sacrificial items.

With regards to rumors that Stephen was planning to heavily contend for the artistry department, Virginia expressed her take on this matter through a phone interview, “Please don’t use such awful-sounding words. From the beginning to the end, Stephen is my boss. Earlier on, because the corruption case was still under investigation, we had to make special arrangements so I temporarily reported directly to Group General Manager Mark Lee Po-on. However, many things were done under the knowledge of Stephen as we often consulted him for pointers. I request everyone not to associate this rumor with him. Firstly, Stephen is not such a person. Now that the verdict has a perfect ending, everyone should recollect their fighting spirit and put their heart into doing their best.” Virginia re-emphasized that there is no such thing as splitting into camps in TVB. As the company has plenty of artistes under their wing, it was not possible for one person to get along well with all the artistes. Virginia also said that irregardless of whether it was Catherina Tsang, Tommy Leung (梁家樹) or even Chan Hui Guang (陳輝光), she gets along well with them and has no problem talking to them thus she hoped that the media wouldn’t make things sound so scary. Virginia expressed that she wasn’t the least worried that her position might be threatened. Then what about earlier rumors that she was planning to leave TVB? Virginia replied, “It wasn’t easy for things to be alright now hence we should do our jobs a little better.” Virginia also implied that she completely did not believe that there was such thing as a blacklisting list. She pointed out that those on the alleged blacklisting list were all TVB’s first line actors, TVB gives them jobs and hope that the dramas they shoot will become popular with the audience.

Members from the “Virginia Lok camp”: Do your jobs well

Myolie Wu who was viewed as a member of the “Virginia Lok camp” was busy filming TVB’s new drama, The Endless Exchange of Enjoyment《換樂無窮》. Myolie expressed that there has never been a splitting into any camps. As she was an artiste, her main task was to do her jobs well hence she was never worried about being liquidated. Whereas Linda Chung replied that she doesn’t believe the rumor as she has joined TVB for seven years now and work has always been assigned by her company. She will just work hard in doing her best and that both Stephen Chan and Virginia Lok were very good to her.

Roger Kwok will ask after Stephen Chan if he meets him

Roger Kwok (郭晉安) who currently had no filming on hand, grew to learn of the developments in the Stephen Chan’s case through the news. About Stephen Chan’s acquittal from all the charges, Roger expressed that of course he hoped that Stephen would be alright. Will he console and ask after Stephen then? Roger replied, “If I happen to see him then of course I will but I won’t specially go and console and ask after him.” Mentioned about the rumors that Stephen’s comeback signify his return to power and that he will get rid of rebels, Roger professed that he has always did his job well hence he wasn’t worried. On the other hand, Raymond Lam responded to the acquittal of Stephen Chan, “Happy, congratulations to Mr Chan!” (Reporter: There were rumors that Stephen was planning to liquidate the artistes under the “Virginia Lok camp”?) “I won’t comment about this.”

In other news, Nancy Sit (薛家燕) was not worried that Stephen’s return to his position might cause a major “shake up” in TVB. Nancy Sit instead hoped that Stephen would continue to develop talents and let TVB become more and more excellent.

Fala Chen does not believe TVB internally set her for TV Queen

Monday, September 05, 2011 Posted by Admin 0 comments
Fala Chen's role as Madam Jo in Lives of Omission has been a great hit, viewers are very concerned if she'll lives or dies in the finale. With Fala's popularity rising, it has already been rumored TVB internally reserved the TV Queen seat for her this year.

Regarding Stephen Chan's return to TVB, Fala said yesterday at the 'NBA Madness 2011' event: "We rarely keep in touch, but I am happy for him!" A magazine said Fala is favored by TVB's new boss Chan Kwok Keung and it has already been set for her to become this year's TV Queen, she modestly said: "I do not believe in gossip magazine reports. I feel Linda Chung, Kate Tsui and Myolie Wu did very well too. I only have 50% confidence and I'll be happy enough to be part of the nominations. The results depends on the votes from viewers and executives."

Asked about the Lives's finale, Fala advertised: "I filmed two endings, but the Producer can edit the series into several other different endings. Sometimes even the artists won't know, so whatever the magazine exposed, may not be the truth."

Wong He willing to be Stephen Chan's umbrella: So what if its a disaster?

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Wong He has been in the industry for 19 years, and does not have many friends. The one person who was able to get him to sacrifice was Stephen Chan. For Stephen, Wong He accompanied him through 540 days of the difficult times in court for his corruption case.

(*The rest is Wong He speaking)

March 11, 2010 (Stephen Chan's arrest for corruption by the ICAC), Mr. Chan and I both had some changes. Our relationship started changing, started getting better and it was also during this time that we both had the same experience and reflections. That moment when I opened the umbrella for Mr. Chan, it is not something to be praised, I was prepared for people to talk about me. However, as Mr. Chan's friend, it is normal to open an umbrella for him when it rains. I know he sees this event as a treasured moment. I will try my best to protect him! That day he got his hair done early in the morning, but it suddenly started raining, and I didn't want the rain to ruin his hair, Mr. Chan likes to be pretty... compared to me? Of course he likes to be pretty more than I do! In fact, Mr. Chan have many friends behind-the-scenes that are concerned about him. Some feel it's sensitive and isn't convenient to take action. So, just let someone who feels it's convenient to do so, and that is something I will reflect on in the future!

During the court trials, Mr. Chan had a large group of friends and professionals helping him piece everything together. At this time, Mr. Chan had the greatest willpower and EQ to face 3 weeks of being on trial. In the courtroom, Mr. Chan was very strong, but outside of the courtroom, he was very weak. He expressed his feelings of "being bullied", and that moment I felt awful. These words came out of someone who is strong, I felt even more awful... (red eyes) At the time did I cry? I will not tell you. I am a policeman, I have a mission to fight for his justice. The group of Mr. Chan supporters also worked really hard to help him win his justice back. It is because of this experience with Mr. Chan, our relationship got better, despite it being difficult to bear. I made him part of my family, and got approval from my mother too.

I was raised in a strict environment, I cannot just causally say someone is part of my family. In the early years, I acknowledged this one man as my father, and my mother heavily beat me. Today, I already acknowledged Mr. Chan as part of my family, and that is enough for me to bring Mr. Chan back to see my mom. On the day of 'meeting the parents', it was also the day I 'released' Mr. Chan, that time the arrest incident already happened. I was in a hurry to 'release' him. That day my mother was with me, Mr. Chan was already there, I introduced Mr. Chan to my mom and once she saw him, she treated him with great respect. She saw him as her 'half son', but at the same time she thought of him as an executive. The scene was quite interesting, very very funny.

Friendship is very strange, when you and another person become friends, then you will have to accept his/her history too. When it comes to work, Mr. Chan never helped me, nor do I allow such thing to happen. People describe me as part of the 'Stephen Party', I cannot control that and this is just a taste difference. There is no high or low in taste, just good or bad. I cannot change the taste of others, but it is just Mr. Chan will be his manager and I will continue to be the little artist I am. After all, I still haven't been treated well, is it because I'm in the 'Stephen Party'? Is that a blessing or a disaster? I am supporting myself! So what if it's a disaster?!

Ella puts career first before relationship, always late

Posted by Elvina Chang 0 comments
Ella Koon yesterday appeared at a Mid Autumn lanterns event. Previous years Ella disliked eating mooncakes, however, recent it seems that her tastes have changed as she like tucking into mooncakes. She smiled and said: “Even before the festival, I had already eaten a lot of mooncakes, I love eating the yoke but worried about the gaining weight so I have to control myself now.” Asked if Ella intends to spend Mid Autumn Festival with boyfriend, she responded: “Being in showbiz, if there is work over these festivals, it is better to work it.” (Will your boyfriend get annoyed?)”He never complained. Being the other half of an artist, you have to bear with it because of our job. He arranged to meet but I always have to arrive late so I am grateful for his tolerance.” Ella also revealed that once her boyfriend had meet her for dinner after her work but had to sit there waiting for over 2 hours.

Yesterday Ella returned to Hong Kong from Hangzhou, it was revealed that one of Ella’s new songs has been band from the mainland. Ella said: “I have shocked by this news. I do not understand because there is nothing wrong with the lyrics and they band it. It is very disappointing. There is no opportunity for me to pursue my music career in the Mainland yet. We are the same country, same people so I do not know why.”

Linda Chung Plays in Love Rectangle in “Lucky Father”

Sunday, September 04, 2011 Posted by Admin 0 comments
Yesterday, Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣), Steven Ma (馬浚偉), Ha Yu (夏雨) and the rest of the cast and crew held a praying ceremony for new TVB drama, Lucky Father "當旺爸爸". Earlier on, when Linda and Steven were shooting an accident scene for Lucky Father, a passerby thought that an actual accident had occurred and called the police. When mentioned, Linda replied that she felt that the accident scene was probably too realistic, thus misleading people to think that it was real. Linda expressed that she was shocked when the police suddenly arrived at the scene on that fateful day.

Ran Until Feet Hurt When Filming Chasing Criminals Scene

Linda will have romantic developments with three men in the drama and they include Steven Ma, Lai Lok Yi (黎諾懿) and Edwin Siu (蕭正楠). Will she have kissing scenes with all of them ? Linda responded, “Fathers are the main topic of this warm-hearted drama. As romantic love isn’t the primarily focus here, no kissing scenes will likely be imposed. It was rather challenging as this is the first time I’m acting as a policewoman. As I often have to film criminal-chasing scenes, I suffered from a lack of sleep but still had to film from morning until night the very day, running until my legs were numb and in pain.”

Did Linda prefer filming kissing scenes or criminal chasing scenes? Linda laughed and said, “It’s most important for the effect to be good. All three of them are good men.” (Reporter: Which one of them fits your criteria of a boyfriend?) “Each of them have their own strengths. I have the most chemistry with Steven Ma since we have collaborated five times now. Lai Lok Yi is my good friend. Edwin Siu is a nice guy. However, I will not develop with any of them. Acting is purely acting; I keep private life separate from work.”

In other news, Tracy Ip (葉翠翠) was rumored to have turned down TVB actor, Benjamin Yuen’s (韋家雄) pursuit of love. In reply to this, Tracy silently admitted to it, “We previously filmed 4 In Love together and in that drama, his character really likes me. During filming, he was just going into character. After filming, nothing happened between us. We didn’t communicate or even went on any date after that.” Tracy Ip clarified that she did not mind dating shorter guys than herself but preferred that her boyfriend was not from the entertainment circle.

Viann Zhang Sends Birthday Wishes to Ron Ng

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Ron Ng’s (吳卓羲) romance with the mainland actress, Viann Zhang (張馨予), became an increasingly intense affair. On her blog last night, Viann wrote, “Happy Birthday” to send birthday wishes to Ron [whose birthday was on September 2nd].

Asked about her romance with Ron Ng in an interview yesterday, Viann noted that she will go with the flow in the relationship. She has not thought about the “results” in the future. Viann revealed that Ron provided encouragement to her and stressed that she did not use him to promote herself.

Linda Chung to Resume “Miss Koo” Role in Spin Off Series

Posted by Admin 0 comments
In Yes Sir, Sorry Sir "點解阿Sir係阿Sir", Linda Chung’s (鍾嘉欣) bowling teacher character, Miss Koo, had a nervous breakdown and earth-shattering cry when she found out that she was deceived in love by Moses Chan (陳豪). Linda’s portrayal as Miss Koo was widely acclaimed, even marking her as a popular choice to win the Best Actress Award at this year’s TVB Anniversary. Although the awards results were uncertain at this point, TVB will film a spin off series derived from Yes Sir, Sorry Sir in which Linda will reprise her role as Miss Koo.

Following Michael Tse’s (謝天華) Laughing Gor character, Miss Koo was another classic creation. In November 2011, Producer Lau Ka Ho (劉家豪), will start filming the new Miss Koo series, featuring Linda Chung and Bosco Wong (黃宗澤). Linda Chung was requested to end her upcoming holiday early and return to Hong Kong in order to participate in filming of the new series.

Originally, Linda filed for two months of vacation to return to her home in Canada after completing the filming of Lucky Father "當旺爸爸". This will allow her to take a break from the strenuous filming schedule, in which she filmed over 100 television episodes this year. Since it has been confirmed that Linda will star in Producer Lau Ka Ho’s new Miss Koo spin off series at the end of November, Linda’s vacation plans have been ordered to be shortened.

Linda was excited to reprise her role as Miss Koo, “Aside from myself, many audience members also liked the character of Miss Koo very much. It’s a very special feeling to be able to film a spin off series. Actually, this character resembers the cool teacher character found in OL Supreme "女王辦公室". I never considered this would happen to me, that a producer would ask me to portray such a cool character. I hope to continue the bold aura of Miss Koo!” Linda hoped to follow Laughing Gor’s spin offs into the film industry as well, which would make the situation even more perfect!

The attraction of Miss Koo was undeniable. Even Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) praised Linda’s performance in the role, while noting that Linda had a good chance to win the Best Actress Award. Linda responded, “Of course I have confidence. However, I think I have a greater chance in winning the Favorite Female Character Award instead.”

Joey Yung loves Hacken Lee's son Ryan: "Perhaps Hacken's my future Father-In-Law"

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Hacken Lee, Joey Yung, Kay Tse, William Chan, Fiona Sit and many more attended the 903 All Star Basketball Game. Hacken and his son Ryan encountered the media while going to school, causing his wife having to put on makeup herself too. Hacken joked that it's like his wife had been to several press conferences in the last several days. He expressed he actually does not approve of his son being on camera, but because he has been followed closely by the media, it is not something he can control: "Just have to treat it like a practice for my son to learn about etiquette, how to face all these older 'brother and sisters' (the media)."

Asked if his son Ryan is classmates with Lucas Tse? Hacken said: "They are not in the same class." Asked if he'll bring other celebrity children together, so they can be friends? Hacken was impatient and said: "I am just responsible for bringing my son to school, little children's world, adults should not get in between them."

Hacken said Ryan does not understand what all this media talk about, but would just ask when Joey Yung has time to play with him. Usually Joey often sends short loving videos to him. Joey cried: "His son loves me! In the future I may have to call Hacken 'father-in-law'." Joey sweet talked that she hopes the Big 4 issue can be settled soon, so she can work with Hacken in TVB again.

Stephen Chan's mighty return to TVB, Virgina Lok's favorites put off to the side

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Following Stephen Chan's mighty return to TVB, rumors circulated that Stephen and Virgina Lok's split in 'Parties' have started repeating history with a huge fire of war. Virgina once said in court that someone was "selling artists into slavery". Yesterday she denied resigning to avoid Stephen, she said: "How is that possible? No, we waited so hard and long for this perfect ending. He is fine now, the spirit revives, why would I resign? I hope there won't be any more unhappy events that arises. (Have you contacted Stephen?) I sent him a SMS. I know he'll be back to work on Monday, and since then I haven't bothered him. We'll talk when he's back at work. (Wong He of the 'Stephen Party' was dinged out earlier?) TVB has never changed on Wong He, we are in a shortage (of artists). It is just he wanted to shoot Mainland series and the schedule didn't fit. As long as the right series comes along, he'll be back, TVB always welcomes him."

It was said Virgina Lok's favorites including Raymond Lam, Michael Tse, and Linda Chung may not get any awards at the end of the year due to Virgina's lost in power. Towards this, Raymond Lam said: "It is always rumored like that. To me, awards are not important, the most important is to have recognition from audience."

Depending on Ghetto Justice and the upcoming Queen of All for TV Queen, Myolie Wu expressed: "There has never been a split in parties, I am not worried about awards, most important is to do my own part."

Wayne Lai, Steven Ma, Fala Chen and Tavia Yeung were all rumored to be in the "Stephen Party". Wayne Lai expressed: "I have to clarify that actually during No Regrets, I had more performances and had more communication with Mr. Chan, but when it comes to being familiar with him and saying I'm part of his party, just lifts me up too high. Also Forensic Heroes III has not broadcast yet, I only have 50% confidence of getting TV King. There are a lot of other factors for TV King, including the amount of votes and public opinion. Of course I hope to be crowned TV King for 3 consecutive years and create history, but I support Raymond Lam and Kevin Cheng. (They are part of the 'Virgina Party' that is losing power!) Don't have to separate it that clearly."

Said to be in the 'Stephen Party', Fala Chen stressed she is not in any party. Asked if she feels her chances of winning TV Queen is higher? She said: "There are still several months before the TVB Anniversary. The anniversary series haven't even started airing yet, it is too early to say. Awards is not about the executives, it is about the role and TV ratings."

Steven Ma frankly said towards work, the fitting level wasn't high with Miss Lok, he said: "I admit that last July when I discussed my contract with Miss Lok, it did not fit well, and I had no jobs for a whole month. Later, I got Mr. Chan and Catherine Tsang's help, Mr. Chan even promised Apprentice Chef for me. Mr. Chan have in fact fulfilled many of my wishes. (Do you have confidence to win awards?) I do not know if I'm in the 'Stephen Party', but I am leaving it to fate for awards. My mentor is Catherine Tsang."
