Raymond Lam Strongly Supports Charmaine Sheh’s Performance in “My Sister of Eternal Flower”

Saturday, May 21, 2011 Posted by vanillaTRPR 0 comments

Raymond Lam (林峯) and Kate Tsui (徐子珊) appeared at a promotion event yesterday. Raymond and Charmaine Sheh’s (佘詩曼) new TVB series, My Sister of Eternal Flower <花花世界花家姐> was accused of discriminating against mentally challenged people. Raymond pointed out that Charmaine’s character found a job in the series and was more intelligent than he was in the office. “I did not receive that particular complaint. Perhaps everyone’s perception was different!”

Viewers also complained that Charmaine replicated Roger Kwok’s (郭晉安) performance in Square Pegs <戆夫成龙>. Raymond strongly supported his partner,  “Whether it was the interpretation, body language, or tone of voice, Charmaine’s performance was very, very good. I told myself to deliver a better performance, so that we can balance out! ”

When reporters mentioned that Raymond’s ex-girlfriend, Mavis Pan (潘霜霜), may come to Hong Kong for promotional purposes, Raymond noted that he will not respond. Asked whether Raymond feared that Mavis may further provoke him, he was not willing to answer. Raymond stressed that he was currently focused on preparing for his upcoming concert.

Kate was spotted wearing the same woven bracelet that Ron Ng (吳卓羲) wore. Kate denied the rumors with Ron and noted that she got the bracelet from a master. The bracelet was intended to guard her health and many artists wore the same type of bracelet. Kate stressed that she would only date a man from outside the entertainment industry.  Asked whether she had feelings for Ron, Kate said, “The rumors have been circulating for too long; I have become numb!”

Moses Chan: I will work harder to court Aimee

Posted by vanillaTRPR 0 comments

A Hong Kong tabloid recently reported that actor Moses Chan and actress Aimee Chan had agreed to get married, and that the couple had gotten approval from their parents and TVB's senior executives.

Aimee's good friend even revealed that the actress had accepted Moses's marriage proposal, and the two may marry secretly and cohabit.

Responding to the rumours, Moses laughed, "I didn't even know about all this! The person who knows this must be a psychic! Hahaha!"

When asked if he has already met with Aimee's parents, Moses said he hasn't and that he is unsure about the ongoing rumours which suggested otherwise.

Moses revealed that he is "still working on it", but it should be "ok", when asked by reporters if he had successfully courted Aimee.

At a promotional event on May 17, Aimee also responded to the rumours.

"The stories on those tabloids develop very fast. Last week, we were said to be in a relationship. Now they say we're getting married! Actually, Moses and I are just friends, and we are not in a relationship. I just wanted to concentrate on my work right now. When it comes to relationships, I'll just go with the flow," the actress said.

Aimee added that "every girl wants get married ultimately", but emphasised that she wants to focus on her work for now. She also said that Moses is a good guy, but "a couple needs to get to know each other before they can discuss marriage".

Cecilia Cheung and Edison Chen reconciled?

Posted by vanillaTRPR 0 comments

In 2008, Hong Kong singer Edison Chen was involved in a sex photo scandal that shocked the Chinese showbiz. The singer became enemies with many actresses including Cecilia Cheung and Gillian Chung overnight.

Both Gillian and Cecilia's careers spiraled downhill after the photos surfaced, and there were rumours that Cecilia's marriage with actor Nicholas Tse was on the verge of breaking up.

During an interview in 2009, Cecilia even blasted Edison for "shedding crocodile tears" and let on that he had never personally apologised to any of the actresses involved in the scandal.

Three years after the incident, Cecilia had already given birth to second son Quintus; her career is also picking up since she made her return to showbiz. Former lover Edison has also become a successful businessman and is currently focusing on his expanding his fashion label.

The unexpected happened on May 8, when the two took the same flight from Taiwan to Hong Kong.

Apparently, Cecilia asked the air stewardess if she could sit next to Edison, when the pair met on the plane. The singer even offered her the window seat.

Edison and Cecilia were spotted talking and laughing throughout the journey. Cecilia also took out her phone to take pictures with Edison. The two were even said to have exchanged contact numbers, as if they had never fallen out with each other.

Cecilia was in Taiwan on May 7 to attend Taiwanese host Blackie Chen's wedding with singer Christine Fan, while Edison was in Taiwan on the same day to promote his latest fashion collaboration with singer Jay Chou.

It was after their accidental meet-up did the media start to speculate if it was pre-arranged. Edison was overheard saying he has "a flight to catch" earlier that day.

A rep from Edison's recording company confirmed that the singer had "met Cecilia on the same flight and they had interacted with each other".

Sharon Chan worried Joel Chan gone missing

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Yesterday Sharon Chan was recording for a TVB cooking show (新派煮意). She laughed and said she rarely goes into the kitchen and only knows how to eat, but over the big holidays she does make steak for her family to enjoy. Sharon said: "I am okay at cooking! I inherited my mom's good stuff, friends have tried my cooking and praised it. In fact, I feel that using fresh ingredients is the most important, just a simple dish is good enough." Sharon's specialty is chicken wings with oyster sauce. Asked if she makes soup herself? She said: "I know how to too! Just dump everything in and boil! But after all my mom is better at it."

When speaking of god-brother Joel Chan, Sharon expressed that she couldn't find him and misses him very much. She expressed: "I am worried about him, but every time I call him it goes to voicemail. Sometimes I would think what on earth is he doing? It's been two months since I last seen him, he hasn't called back in a long time, something isn't wrong is it? Usually when I read the newspapers, I don't know if it's true. I hope he's doing well." Sharon expressed she sent SMS to Joel, but unfortunately he has not replied.

Fiona Sit spotted with a Black male friend going into hotel

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Since Fiona Sit's break up with Jaycee Chan, she was photographed meeting up with a Black Casino Executive and has been avoiding high profile attendance with the Black companion to friend gatherings. However, Fiona has denied that the Black companion is her new love interest, he is just a good friend. Recently, it was said that Fiona is feeling down after the break up with Jaycee, but she denied. Yesterday she was spotted in Central with the Black friend.

That night at 7pm, Fiona was wearing a hat and a tank top walking along IFC with the Black friend. The two chatted happily and definitely couldn't see her emotionally down. This proves that Fiona wasn't lying. Later, they went into a famous French chocolate store and picked out different types of chocolates. During the time, Fiona discovered reporters taking photos. She quickly turned her face and used her hair to cover herself from the cameras, suddenly she started moving fast, buying the chocolates and rushed into the restaurant in Four Seasons Hotel for dinner.

Jimmy Wang's sudden scream stuns Donnie Yen

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Peter Chan Ho Sun led the film WU XIA's cast including Donnie Yen Chi Tan, Takeshi Kaneshiro (Gum Sing Mo), Jimmy Wang Yu, Wai Ying Hung, Li Xiaoran and others promoted at the Cannes Film Festival for three days then attended a WU XIA press conference in Beijing. Gum Sing Mo did not attend. At the event each actor talked about their production experience, but One Armed Swordsman Wang Yu suddenly looked serious and yelled at Yen Chi Tan, "How dare you!" The entire venue was silent, even Chi Tan was caught off guard and stunned.

The WU XIA press conference aired an eight minute video preview for the media, but Wang Yu's suddenly scream stunned everyone. Actually Big Hero Wang was just setting the tone and had a little fun with Chi Tan. He laughed and said to Chi Tan, "Did you forget? That's what I said to you in the film, I am testing your memory." He said that he has not made a movie in 17 years. This time the director gave him such an important role, which was truly rare. Thus he wanted to deliver the line "How dare you" again and relive the moment. Chi Tan immediately was recalled. He joked that he was not too daring. Since childhood he has been a Wang Yu fan, he still kept a saber today and imitate Big Brother Wang's photos. With this chance to work with veteran Wang Yu, he was like a little kid.

Wai Ying Hung revealed that actually she was Chi Tan's elder. When she was young she studied martial arts with Chi Tan's mother for two years. She joked that this elder was much too old and could be considered an old lady. Wang Yu joked, "If you are an old lady, then do I have to crawl out of the coffin?" Siu Hung said that he made many martial art hero films in the past, but this time he felt as if he returned to the Shaw Studio. However after the shoot he realized that it was the Chan Studio. After Chan Ho Sun he saw a new world for martial art films. Tang Wei said that WU XIA was a dreamscape that modern people have forgotten. They were in an out of this world paradise. When a kid woke up and saw his father becoming a big hero with top notch kung fu, it was like a fairy tale.

Chan Ho Sun pointed out that he was a wuxia fanatic. At age 9 he began to like watching wuxia films. Back then he saw ONE ARMED SWORDSMAN and fell for wuxia film; at 19 he saw Bruce Lee's WAY OF THE DRAGON; at 28, 29 he saw the fantasy world of wuxia films; in 2000 the appearance of CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON motivated his feeling toward wuxia film anew. At the time he decided that he had to make a wuxia film. He said that Chi Tan this time truly was very important because when it came to fighting he knew nothing. During the fight scenes, Chi Tan was the director and he was visiting the set. When he saw Chi Tan taking 50 takes in one breath, actually after three takes he already thought it was OK. He thought Chi Tan was the most solid of all action directors.

Chilam Cheung and Anita Yuen Visit Pet Store to Please Morton

Posted by vanillaTRPR 0 comments

It was well known that Chilam Cheung (張智霖) and Anita Yuen (袁詠儀) wished to have a daughter. However, Anita revealed earlier that she had thyroid problems which affected her fertility. After completing his concert series, Chilam immediately returned by Anita’s side to take care of her health. Yesterday, Chilam and Anita were spotted visiting a puppy shop with their son, Morton (張慕童)in Causeway Bay.

Once a highly demanded film actress, Anita has morphed into a good mother. She once declared that if she had a son and daughter, that would be the greatest pleasure in life. With her advancing age, becoming pregnant appears to be a race against time. In order to prepare her body for another pregnancy, Anita has suspended all work to focus on conception. Unfortunately, Anita has been unable to become successfully pregnant yet.

With his recent smooth-sailing career, Chilam declared his love for Anita at his concert earlier. After his concert, Chilam spent time with Anita, who had fallen ill. Taking Morton out in Causeway Bay earlier, Chilam enjoyed his family day. Chilam lifted Morton from the car and closely followed by Anita, the trio entered the puppy store.

Morton Was Extremely Excited

After entering the puppy store, Morton grew extremely excited. He pointed at the puppies and made faces at them. Morton appeared to plead Anita to purchase a puppy for him. Noting that her son was still a young boy and due to her illness, Anita refused to purchase the puppy. After playing with the puppies further, Chilam, Anita, and Morton left the puppy store and headed back to their car. The family generously allowed the press to take photos before driving home.

Several days later, the press saw Chilam and Anita on the street again. Chilam walked quickly through the streets of Causeway Bay, perhaps on his way home to enjoy family time with Anita and Morton. Anita appeared in Central district. When she saw the reporter taking photos, she stuck out her tongue. Her expression resembled Morton’s expression!

The Shu Qi, Liu Ye starred, Andrew Lau Wai Keung directed romance A BEAUTIFUL LIFE (BUT JOI YEUNG NEI GU DAN) two nights ago held its premiere at the Convention Center. Lead actor Liu Ye due to work could not attend, but Jacky Cheung Hok Yau who performed a song for the film appeared in support. Other guests included Shawn Yue Man Lok, Hanjin Tan (Chen Woon Yun), boss Peter Lam Kin Ngok and Dr. and Mrs. Charles Kao. Earlier Shu Qi's calligraphy of the film title raised 200,000. Two nights ago Shu Qi presented the 500,000 raised from the entire event for the Charles Kao charity foundation.

Shu Qi two nights ago joked that in the film she constantly cried because she was crying from her displeasure at director Lau Wai Keung. She also praised that Liu Ye was a great actor, they had chemistry and rhythm. Lau Wai Keung said that this time he was not very demanding, only a little merciless. If the leads could not touch him how could they touch the viewers? Thus some scenes had to be shot again. He knew that the film was hard on actors and they should hate him. Shu Qi joked that under Lau Wai Keung's guidance she was very amazing now.

Shu Qi wore four inch high heels but was limping. She explained that she injured her waist earlier when she worked on Carol Lai Miu Shuet's new film in Guangzhou. In the story she had to turn around and sit down, but she forgot to warm up. "At the time I was fine, after a few days I had pain. Later when I have time I will see a doctor." Hok Yau and Lau Wai Keung were interviewed, Shu Qi immediately said, "Idol!" Would Lau Wai Keung ask Hok Yau to make a movie? Lau Wai Keung joked that Hok Yau was very busy and he was very selective. Hok Yau joked, "How selective could you be!" Shu Qi joked that they were very mean with each other when they conversed. Was Hok Yau unable to catch Director Lau's eyes? He joked, "From little to middle to big, I shot Hok Yau's first film WHERE'S OFFICE TUBA (PIK LIK DAI LA BA) in 85 or 6, then AS TEARS GO BY (WONG GOK KAR MOON) won him an award, we also made CURRY AND PEPPER (GA LEI LAT JIU)." Shu Qi joked that she never heard of them because she was not born yet, but she said that the director and Hok Yau privately were actually very intimate.

Would Lau Wai Keung pair Hok Yau and Shu Qi together in a movie? He said that they already worked together on Hok Yau's concert short film. Shu Qi said that she wanted to make it more detailed, but Hok Yau still had over 50 shows to perform. Lau Wai Keung said, "Next year or the year after, Hok Yau is so busy." Hok Yau said that this time he performed a song for the film because the director showed him a scene that touched him very much, so he agreed. Lau Wai Keung joked, "I forced him into singing." Shu Qi joked, "The director really did." Lau Wai Keung pointed out that Hok Yau after recording told him to give his opinion. He joked, "How would I dare to give my opinion, Song God, thank you very much for your help." Hok Yau said that he immediately had a lot of thoughts about the song. After another recording, he also said that he was very interested in the film. Thus he stayed in home and came to support it.

Charmaine Sheh: 'Prejudiced by first impression' denies copying Ah Wong

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Lately Alex Fong, Charmaine Sheh, and Him Law have been busy working on new film Love is the Only Answer. In the film, Charmaine and Alex play a married couple, but because Alex is too much of a playboy, the two gets a divorce. Charmaine reveals she and Him have a bed scene, she said: "To me, this bed scene is very bold, but I won't say the details."

In the film, Alex is a playboy and even played a 'wife exchange' game. In real life, Alex expressed that he cannot accept wife exchange games, he said: "Wife exchange games are to satisfy selfish actions, and there is no true love at all." It was said that he and several other actresses have kiss scenes, did he report to girlfriend Stephy Tang before the fact? Alex said: "You think she's a police officer?" Alex expressed that he already congratulated Ronald Cheng for being a father, but he personally does not have plans for marriage or have kids yet. Asked if he's afraid of accidents? Alex said: "Look at fate, there is nothing perfect. No accident has happened to me. I am not that lucky, I'm more of a serious character."

In Charmaine's new series My Sister of Eternal Flower, TVB received 2 complaints that Charmaine is not suitable to play a mentally challenged girl and she is just copying Roger Kwok's 'Ah Wong' from Life Made Simple. On discussion forums, some Netizens criticize TVB for insulting mentally challenged people because they feel the story is an exaggeration and this will cause unhappiness for mentally challenged people when they watch it. They also say that the 'female version Ah Wong' lacks a new concept, and criticizes Charmaine for copying. However, there are also fans supporting Charmaine, saying that she got the right yardstick for the role.

Regarding this, Charmaine said: "Everyone is just prejudiced by first impression, and there is nothing I can do. If you patiently watch on, you will realize the story develops differently. In fact, it's a good thing that there are discussions, the current ratings are not bad." Asked if she watched Roger Kwok play 'Ah Wong' before she started shooting Flower? Charmaine said: "When both of the 'Ah Wong' series were broadcasting, I had work and did not have time to watch. During filming of Flower, I initially wanted to borrow the series from TVB, but in the end I was afraid I'll end up copying Ah Wong, so I gave up. However, I did visit the mentally challenged schools to learn their words and actions, before I went to play Sister Fa."

Raymond Lam supports that the series is optimistic

Also, as for My Sister of Eternal Flower's lead actor Raymond Lam, his role discriminates mentally challenged people. In the series, he complains to Toby Leung, who plays Charmaine's younger sister: "If I touch your sister (Charmaine), I will have to use disinfectants to wash my hands, please tell your sister to stay at home and don't come out! Lock her up! She affects society, makes me have a hard time eating." Raymond accepted an interview over the phone and clarified: "The dialogue is very much in the gray zone. We handled it carefully, the series is to help the mentally challenged people. Although in the series Charmaine is mentally disabled, she is still able to assimilate into the society, and she is able to work in the office. It is not despising or looking down on them. When the story develops into the end, it will be very warm."

Michelle Reis spends HK$3 million on her son's 1 month old party

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Michelle Reis and her husband Julian Hui hosted a 1 month old celebration for their baby boy Jayden Max last night at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Wan Chai. Michelle threw in HK$3 million to make a fairytale type of celebration for her son. She also did not hesitate to donate all of their guests' money gifts to their JMJ Children's Charitable Foundation.

Michelle reveals that they opened 23 tables for the celebration and to make it a real children feeling, the dress code is smart casual. Guests do not need to bring any gifts, just donate them to their family's JMJ Children's Charitable Foundation. When asked if she's done losing the weight from pregnancy? She said: "About done, still working hard." Asked if Jayden is easy to care for? She laughed: "I don't dare to say because people say babies are very sensitive, but he's pretty okay to care for. Every 10 minutes, he drinks a bottle of milk. (Your husband helps take care of baby?) He actually messes everything up, treating the baby like a toy. I'm responsible for changing his diaper, he won't do it because I don't trust him."

Making money becomes a ‘family affair’ for Raymond Cho and Elaine Chiang

Posted by Admin 0 comments
With his healthy image, Raymond Cho and his family are constantly sought after by advertisers to film commercials targeted at families with children. Recently, Raymond’s wife Elaine Chiang and a friend of hers partnered up to open a children’s clothing store in the Central district. Naturally, Raymond and Elaine’s 3 year old son Brandon became a ‘promotional ambassador’ of sorts for the store, wearing various outfits from the store when on playdates and also helping out in the ‘visual’ department with his variety of cute poses for pictures and posters. Seeing his son’s cute poses, Raymond could not help but laugh: “We love taking pictures of Brandon! He definitely knows how to ‘chok’ for the camera – in fact, he looks just as ‘cool’ as me! Haha!”

Elaine, who is currently pregnant with a baby girl and is due to give birth next month (in June), expressed that she is not worried about her condition affecting the business: “Ever since Brandon was born, I’ve been wanting to do something (in terms of career) related to children. Earlier, a friend of mine had expressed interest in opening a children’s clothing store and coincidentally, both of us buy the same brand of clothing for our children – so we bravely sent an email to the representatives for that particular (American) brand asking about a possible collaboration. We were successful in our discussions and was able to get the exclusive distribution rights for that brand in the Greater China [China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau] region. Even though I’m pregnant right now, I’m not worried, as there are a lot of people helping me with the business. Plus whenever Raymond is off [from work] he comes and helps me move boxes, do inventory, etc. – I’m pretty much only doing admin work right now.”

Raymond expressed that he doesn’t mind helping his wife, but he does have one ‘complaint’: “She works pretty late. One time, she was working at the store until midnight – I was worried that it might be too exhausting for her due to her condition, so I couldn’t help scolding her about it.” Even though she was scolded by her husband, Elaine was not upset at all – in fact, she didn’t mind being scolded, since her son Brandon ‘makes up’ for it: “Brandon is very sweet and loving towards me – every night, he kisses my tummy and tells me that he will take good care of his sister in the future.”

With regard to raising children, Raymond admits that it is not easy at all, as he doesn’t want to be too lenient, but is also opposed to being a ‘monster’ parent: “You have to be careful not to spoil children too much and maintain the right balance when it comes to discipline when necessary. Sometimes, when Brandon gets too naughty or out of control, I hit his hand very lightly. Both Roger [TN: fellow actor and good friend Roger Kwok] and I agreed that after our daughters are born, we will need to spend extra time with our sons so that they won’t feel overlooked or ignored.”

Thursday, May 19, 2011 Posted by Admin 0 comments
Fiona Sit Hoi Kei and Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming) have been rumored to be a couple. Although they have always denied their relationship, countless reports about it still appeared. Recently Fiona supposedly had slight depression due to her film character and her break up with Fong Cho Ming. Yesterday Fiona attended a cell phone event. She reiterated that she and Cho Ming never dated but declined to discuss the illness. She only said that she did not have any mental illness.

Fiona said that she read the report as well. She said that the only fact in it was she learned to play basketball but not too well. As for her relationship with Fong Cho Ming, Fiona said that they never broke up because they never started. Now she and Cho Ming are still in contact, but she would not deliberately approach him about such rumors. She never would report any rumor to him.

Fiona said this rumor has been around for seven years. She said, "I generously disclose to the public that we really are not dating, I don't know why no one believe it." She honestly said that the rumor has gone on for so long that she worried about potential suitors. After becoming Christina she was very at ease. How long ago was her last date? She said that it was not as long as seven years ago. Reporters said that meant she and Cho Ming dated? Fiona did not respond and only said that she has not dated for years, she has to keep everything else private. She said, "You of course have to wait for something good." Was Cho Ming not "something good"? She said that he was great, but they truly never dated.

As for illness, Fiona explained that she became tense from being in too character during the shoot and and had physical problems. However it was not any mental illness or depression, only organ issues. She honestly said that she wanted to keep it private and did not want to say too much. Now she had to see a Chinese medicine practitioner for half a year.

Gillian Chung may not be able to take pictures with Edison Chen like Cecilia Cheung

Yesterday Twins held their TWINS 3650 Tenth Anniversary Celebration (Twins anniversary is May 18th) at Intercontinental Hotel in Shenzhen. Regarding the reports the other day about Cecilia Cheung encountering Edison Chen on the airplane and was still able to chat with him and take pictures wiping out the hate, asked Gillian Chung (Ah Gil) if she could do the same if she encountered the same situation? She said: "I haven't, when I do I'll think about it! But, I may not use the same form of interaction." Has she not let it go completely? Ah Gil stressed: "I already let it go!"

Wisdom tooth removed, right side of face swollen

Yesterday at the event, Twins announced their series of celebration activities. Besides releasing an all new Mandarin album and photo book, they will be holding a concert world tour in places such as Guangzhou, U.S, Singapore and Malaysia. The Hong Kong stop is set for August 2011. At the event, cheerleaders welcomed Charlene Choi (Ah Sa) and Ah Gil out on stage and the two shred the bits of their past 10 years. Then Twins performed their new song 3650. Ah Sa felt it was unbelievable that in a blink of an eye it's already 10 years because there are many events that they still remain fresh in her memory. As for Ah Gil, because she got her wisdom tooth removed, she appeared a bit swollen on the face. Although she tried to hide it brushing her long hair to her right side, her swelled face could not be covered. Ah Sa looked at Ah Gil's round face and recalls Twins used to be chubby, she laughed and said it looks like she's looking into the past.

During interviews, Ah Gil reveals that two days ago she went to the dentist to get her wisdom tooth removed. The process was painful, she said: "It felt like the doctor was pulling my head, so I had to use my hands to keep my head still! In the last two days, I could not sleep and could not talk." Ah Sa laughed as she suggested Ah Gil to stick a cotton ball on the left side of her face, so her face could look balanced or maybe she could stick a cotton ball in her mouth herself to match Ah Gil. Recently, Ah Gil is busy shooting series, is she worried that her swollen face would affect the progress? She said: "Fortunately the costume and makeup parts are already done, hopefull the future scenes are all just at a distance."

Ah Sa forgot who Pony Ma is

It was said that Twins 10th anniversary celebration activities are all sponsored by Tencent QQ. Tencent QQ's boss Pony Ma is rumored with Ah Sa. Yesterday Ah Sa was asked if she has seen him? She asked back: "Who? That frightening? I don't know. If you all didn't mention it, I already forgot it. In fact, he sponsors lots of people, G.E.M's concert is also sponsored by him. Many people uses Tencent QQ. All my colleagues in my company have an account. I really don't know him, I haven't even seen him before. I already forgot there was this person, forgot about the issue. Basically this news is nonsense." Yesterday outside of the event loaction, Twins' album covers over the 10 years were posted everywhere. Ah Sa expressed she is often re-watching Twins' old MVs lately and discovered that most of them are pretty funny. Asked if she's afraid to look back at her old photos? She said: "I already broke through this gate! Yesterday, I looked back at my old jade pictures, so fat!"

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Article from Oriental Daily:

Janet Chow and Timmy Hung have long been recognized as a steady couple in the HK entertainment circle. Since the two of them started dating, they were constantly asked about when they will get married and recently, rumors surfaced that they are planning to wed in July of this year in the Maldives Islands.

Yesterday, Janet was asked about the marriage rumors, to which she expressed that nothing has been confirmed: “If we were truly to get married in the Maldives, the utmost concern would be whether my family and friends would have time to attend, as I would definitely want my mother and closest friends to come share the moment with me.”

Janet revealed that back in 2008, when she and Timmy as well as his family and their mutual friends went on a trip to the Maldives, he had already proposed to her and she agreed to be his fiancée. She recounts the romantic moment: “That trip was to celebrate my birthday. On the last night of the trip, Timmy came out holding a cake – I thought it was odd because we had already eaten cake earlier and already celebrated earlier during the trip. Then I looked closer at the cake and discovered that there was a ring placed right on top of it – all of a sudden, he got on his knees and proposed. I was so moved that I cried and said yes. He promised that he would marry me in 3 years.” That night, Timmy’s father Sammo Hung, his step-mother Joyce Mina Godenzi, and friends Eric Tsang, Angela Tong, Toby Leung, etc. were present when Timmy proposed and witnessed the joyous event.

Now that the 3 years is almost up, rumor has it that Timmy will honor his promise by marrying Janet in a wedding ceremony in the Maldives in July. However, Janet would not confirm the rumors, saying only that she is not in a rush to get married: “The possibility of us getting married in the Maldives in July is only about 50/50. I’m not worried at all, as the Heavens had already arranged for me to meet Timmy and also arranged the surprise proposal for me. So whenever Timmy decides to marry me, I will let the Heavens arrange it.”

Article from Mingpao:

It was recently rumored that actor Timmy Hung will marry his long-time girlfriend, former Miss HK Janet Chow, in July and that they are planning for their wedding to take place in the Maldives.

Yesterday, our reporter called Timmy to congratulate him on his upcoming wedding, however he expressed that the information is not confirmed. He clarified: “It’s true that we are planning to get married, but the date has not been confirmed yet – in fact, I haven’t even told my parents yet. I need to coordinate with my work schedule and also my father’s (Sammo Hung) schedule, as this type of important event would require him to take a few days off in order to attend.”

Asked whether Janet accepted his marriage proposal, Timmy laughed and said: “She can’t get away! Haha! She and I have discussed about having a wedding in the Maldives, as both of us like that place because it is very romantic. However, it is already May now and neither of us want to rush things – we may ultimately decide to register [for marriage] first, since an official wedding ceremony would take quite some time to prepare. We’re afraid that the recent marriage rumors may affect our plans!”

Asked whether his father Sammo chided him for deciding to get married without first letting him know, Timmy replied that he was with his father yesterday and the topic did not come up. He expressed that his father does not pay attention to such rumors, as he has been in the industry a long time and already knows how to handle rumors like this. Timmy expressed that his father already knows of his plans for marriage and trusts that once the date is confirmed, he will give him advance notice so he can plan his schedule.
