A letter reportedly penned by Nicholas Tse to Cecilia Cheung surfaced recently, amidst rumours that the pair is each preparing to head to battle for the custody of their children.
Nicholas supposedly opened his letter with "Dear Cecilia" and referred to Cecilia 'darling' throughout his expressive and touching letter.
The actor claimed that it was "heart-wrenching" for him to pen the letter, "but for you, I will hold back my tears and finish this".
In the letter, the actor said that both of them had a very messy past. However, he thanked God that they were able to ride through the rough times.
Nicholas mentioned the 2008 photo scandal in the letter, which he said he could "forget". The actor also confessed that there were times he wanted to curse actor Edison Chen. He only refrained to do so, "for the sake of Lucas and Edison".
After the letter was exposed, some netizens claimed that it was "too fake". Others speculated that Nicholas hired someone to write it on his behalf as "he is not that poetic".
Commenting on the issue, Nicholas' manager expressed that the actor did not write the letter.
