'Fun With Liza & Gods' to Win 'Best Variety Show Host'?

Thursday, October 07, 2010 Posted by Admin 0 comments
TVB's "Fun With Liza and Gods" did very well in ratings and word of mouth. Although the show ended now, but the four hosts, Liza Wang, Louis Yuen, Johnson Lee, and Wong Cho Lam, will continue to work as a team to entertainment the audience. It's known they will hold a two show concert starting in December 4. Then they will even tour around the world, going to places like North America, Australia, Singapore, etc.

Because the show is very popular, it's decided TVB will tape 4 special episodes to air in the anniversary months starting November 13. It's believed they have a high chance in winning this year's "Best Variety Show Host." (the award ceremony is in early December)

In addition, it's rumored TVB to start a series and film for the team and the series would start shooting early next year. Yesterday reporters contacted Liza for confirmation and she said: "Filming a film? Really? I thought it's just TV series? I'm not sure! But if it's true then it would be a happy thing." She expressed she would try to participate if schedule permits.

Cho Lam, one of the Gods, said: "We will start discussing the anniversary special. We would like to get crazier this time, will try to see if we can ask TV kings and queens and nominees to tape together. (Will you impersonate them?) Of course!" Another God Louis frankly said because viewers have expectations in them, so they don't want to disappoint them. "In fact we have many new plans and ideas, hope everything will go well."

RTHK: "4 Station Music Awards" cancellation not been decided yet

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Due to the TVB and Big 4 royalty issues haven't been settled yet, so for this whole year the Big 4 singers have not made it on the pop charts. Due to the calculation errors, it was suggested that why not just cancel the "4 Station Music Awards". But, RTHK's Top 10 Golden Music Award Ceremony producer (Fung Wai Tong) reveals that the 4 stations (RTHK, TVB, CRHK, Metro) have not had the meeting yet, as of now the meeting is schedule to occur at the end of this month (October). At that time, the decision of whether or not to cancel the ceremonies will be made. As for the sudden rumors, he felt that it was strange. Until the meeting happens, a decision has not been made.

Gigi Leung's cat Poppy passed away, eyes swollen from crying

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Yesterday Gigi Leung accepted an interview by RTHK. She appeared without make-up and only had a pair of sunglasses on, turns out it was because her adopted stray cat Poppy unfortunately passed away the day before. She did not have any mood to put on make up, only put on a pair of sunglasses to cover up her swollen eyes from crying.

After a night of sorrow, Gigi shared her feelings with fans on Weibo: "My love Poppy, yesterday.... you left this world. After a night of sorrow and grief, I have accepted the fact. In just a year of time, she went from an one-eyed stray cat to my 'little princess' who's been with me day and night..... thank you for accompanying me when I was lonely, protecting me.... bringing me inspirations, happiness... hope you can be a happy person in your next life... continue to be a lovable 'little princess'... see you in the next life." Gigi and Poppy's human-cat relationship is very touching.

As to the possibility that the 4 stations award ceremony (RTHK, TVB, CRHK, Metro) will be canceled? Gigi felt that TVB and the Big 4 record companies issue has been troubling for a year, she is curious of this year's award ceremony, if the results would be affected.

Asked if its because she has the figure that she is able to carry out sexy clothing? she said: "Well if have the clothes, then should have the body figure for it to work." As if she wants to get an award with Moses Chan? She generously complimented that Moses has good taste when it comes to clothing, she said: "He dresses pretty okay because he started off as a model. (Normally, do you two discuss what you know about fashion?) Usually it's me who asks him. (What part of his body figure is beautiful?) He changes really fast. For his height, he can carry out Western brands. (Does he look good in swimwear?) I haven't seen."

Reporters asked if that amount was just the tip of the iceberg in her savings? She quickly expressed: "Yes! But this time I really did do all I can. (How much do you want to make?) I hope to make 1 million, it's a location that's always hosting shows!"

Also, in TVB series Can't Buy Me Love Linda's character name is "Ah Sei", which has been greatly acclaimed. Rumored boyfriend Raymond Lam once expressed that he wants an "Ah Sei" (maid), Linda embarrassingly expressed: "Wish him good luck. Is he looking for someone to clean his house, that 'Ah Sei'? My role is Ah Sei, but I don't want to be someone's maid in real life, I don't like to do that!"

Charmaine Sheh is ‘hot favorite’ to win TV Queen; TVB updates its ratings for "Can’t Buy Me Love"

Posted by Admin 0 comments
With TVB’s Anniversary Awards ceremony taking place in December again this year, the competition for TV King and Queen has been a constant focus in recent weeks.

TVB’s series "Can’t Buy Me Love" has strong ratings as well as public accolades, propelling the series’ star Charmaine Sheh to the status of ‘hot favorite’ to win TV Queen at the awards ceremony end of this year. However she will have some heavy competition from last year’s TV Queen winner Sheren Tang, whose intense performance in the upcoming anniversary series "Rosy Business 2: No Regrets" already has people buzzing about a possible repeat win this year.

In efforts to help boost the chances for ‘biological daughter’ Charmaine to win TV Queen, TVB made a rare move yesterday – when announcing the ratings for the finale episode of "Can’t Buy Me Love" (which aired this past weekend), they counted the ratings from the internet audience as well (those who tuned in to watch via MyTV on TVB’s website). As a result, it caused the ratings for the finale episode -- which originally averaged only 42 points overall – to jump to 51 points, thereby ‘adding’ to Charmaine’s chances.

Yesterday, the cast and crew of "Can’t Buy Me Love" participated in a celebration event for the series; all of the main stars, including Charmaine Sheh, Moses Chan, Linda Chung, Raymond Wong, Kenneth Ma, etc. as well as producer Mui Siu Ching attended to show their support. Everyone was excited over the success of the series and opened a lot of champagne to celebrate. In his excitement, Moses even sprayed champagne all over the place!

In terms of the ‘fight’ for TV Queen this year and Charmaine being viewed as the ‘hot favorite’, she smiled and replied: “I’ll leave the awards up to fate.” (RB2 is currently CBML’s biggest competition?) “I’m also looking forward to watching "No Regrets", as I had watched "Rosy Business" originally.” (Do you feel that Sheren Tang is your strongest competitor for the award?) “Can’t really say that – the company has so many good productions, it’s a good thing. Hopefully every series can be like this and can be viewed as strong competition, that would be the happiest. Awards are not within our control.”

Both Moses and Charmaine indicated yesterday that they hope "Can’t Buy Me Love" will have a sequel – towards this, producer Mui Siu Ching stated: “I also hope that both "Can’t Buy Me Love" and "Beyond the Realm of Conscience" can have sequels, but which one to do first, that’s something to think about. It would be nice to do "Can’t Buy Me Love" sequel first, since it’s a comedy, however right now, I’m working on "Forensic Heroes 3", so even if it’s possible to do a sequel, the earliest would have to be middle of next year.”

Asked which series she preferred to do a sequel first, Charmaine replied: “It’s hard to choose! Doing "Can’t Buy Me Love" first is less of an advantage for the character because the Princess would no longer be so bullying and it would not be funny anymore. If there’s a sequel for "Beyond the Realm of Conscience", I hope to be the villain, as there is more opportunity for development and expression there.”

Ah Sa suffers in silence filming her new MV outdoors

Wednesday, October 06, 2010 Posted by Admin 0 comments
Charlene Choi has recently been busy filming in Mainland, wrapping up filming "Sword Heroes' Fate" with Nicholas Tse and beginning filming "Legend of the White Snake" with Jet Li, Eva Huang and Raymond Lam. At the same time, she is preparing to release her new Cantonese EP "Beautiful Remains" in mid-October. It can be said, she has no spare time! Ah Sa recently found the time to film the MV for her recently plugged song "Simply" (簡簡單單). Not only did she 'fry' under the sun, her soft clear skin was bitten until it was red and swollen. Being professional she had no complaints, and even burst out laughing at herself once the cameras stopped rolling.

"Simply" is a song tailor-made for Ah Sa, a relaxing and encouraging song with lyrics encouraging everyone to be satisfied with what you have; if you live everyday simply, you will live happily. Optimistic and carefree like herself, the vivid outdoor scenery are extremely fitting. With the meaning of the lyrics to encourage everyone to face life optimistically, Ah Sa especially suggested to film outdoors, hoping for music fans to feel the meaning through the natural scenery.

The day of the MV filming, the temperature reached up to 30 degrees Celsius, pitiful Ah Sa was scorching under the sun for half a day. To the camera, she appeared to be enjoying herself, but suffered in silence. In another scene filming underneath the shade of a tree, Ah Sa wholeheartedly believed that the large tree would be a good shade, but under the tree there were many mosquitoes, biting Ah Sa's skin until her limbs were all red. All she could do was run away from the mosquito army every time the director yelled cut. Even though all her limbs were swollen and itchy, always happy Ah Sa still poked fun at herself. Pointing to her polka dot dress and her mosquito bites, she joked that it was a new polka dot fashion style, and she even suddenly walked like a model on a catwalk runway, making all the staff members on set laugh non-stop, and praising Ah Sa for both being professional and practicing what she preaches with her optimistic personality.

In 2006, 46 year old Esther and Nick had their daughter Brittany. In the last year, the couple have been actively trying to get another baby, but unfortunately has not been successful. Since his wife had failed to get pregnant several times, Nick, who had always wanted to have a second child, recently changed his views and expressed to leave everything to fate.

At 4pm the day before, reporters spotted Esther Kwan in Causeway Bay, wearing a comfortable dress and flat shoes. She was in the shopping mall looking at baby clothing. It was clearly seen that her arms and legs had gotten thicker and that her abdomen is slightly elevated. She walked very slowly, appearing just like a pregnant woman.

During the time, Esther focused much of her time looking at baby girl clothing, the majority of the ones she was looking at where pink in color or had flowers on them. Then she looked at clothing for the newly born. Not long after, Esther chose a few shirts and went to the counter to pay. A female passerbyer recognized Esther and went up to greet her. The two chatted about baby caring tips. When Esther was leaving, she was asked if she's pregnant? She let out a huge smile and did not respond. Speaking of Nick crowned Film King once again, did she celebrate with him? She smiled: "I'm leaving!" Then she turned around and left.

After a few days, Esther went grocery shopping at the IFC in Central. After she purchased her items, reporters went up to her and asked again if she's pregnant? Again, Esther smiled and did not answer. Then her driver came to pick her up to go home.

It was announced that his concert held on December 20th will have 4 nights added - January 4th-6th with a total of 18 nights. Andy's boss Lam Kin Ngok, Cheung Yiu Wing, Virgina Lok, Lee Tim Shing, Ann Hui and many other good friends came to support him. Eric Tsang was the MC at the press conference. Andy's guests then went on stage and exposed secrets in the 30 years he's been in the industry.

Used to be a "shampoo boy"

Eric reveals that the first time he saw Andy was during filming, because they couldn't find a hair stylist, the crew used Andy, who was a newcomer at the time to cut his hair for him. Eric laughed: "This shampoo boy, he came to my house at 6am in the morning to cut my hair. So a person's background really isn't important, the most important is hard work, maintain this attitude and you'll definitely get popular!" Besides him, Andy joked that he wasn't a shampoo boy, he was a hair stylist, which made everyone laugh.

Wants to work with Lee Tim Shing again

Film director Ann Hui exposed the first time Andy took on the leading role in TV series Walk On Fire (獵鷹), he had intimate scenes and was so afraid that he started shaking. Andy exposed: "At the time I was so stiff!" Andy expressed that he hopes to have an opportunity to collaborate with Lee Tim Shing again in a TV series. As TVB could easily make that happen, he smiled: "I miss the old boss, if the boss is changed, then that's a different story!"

Deanie Yip urges Andy to work hard in making baby

Seen as Andy's "mother" Deanie Yip, shouted out "good boy" and told Andy to love his wife and surprise everyone soon, she said: "I wish you good health, most important is to love your wife and work hard to get me a grand child!" Had always avoided talking about his family, Andy laughed: "Really only you are brave enough to say that, no one else!" Eric added: "Remember, work hard when you get back!" Andy asked: "Do you want me to send you away too?" Eric said in 'dai sei' tone: "Unless you can't....I'm just saying you have no time!"

Denies pregnancy rumors, signals to stop asking

Afterwards, the media asked Andy to confirm the rumors of his wife Carol Chu being 3 months pregnant? Andy denied: "No such thing. Right now I don't even want to use this for publicity!" It was also rumored that Andy spent HK$20,000 to hire a bodyguard to protect his wife, he denied: "It's just a rumor, not the truth. But I did hire a driver." Speaking of Deanie's comment on getting a baby soon, Andy kept his mouth shut and signaled with his hands to reporters to stop asking. He changed the subject and expressed that this time, he invited American dance instructor Travis Payne (who was also Lady Gaga, Madonna and Michael Jackson's dance instructor) to do dance rehearsal with him. Andy also invited old partner and good friend Idy Chan and Chow Yun Fat to perform with him, but nothing is confirmed yet.

TVB's 'Every Move You Make' plagiarizes American series 'Lie to me'

Posted by Admin 0 comments
This year, TVB has been plagiarizing from beginning to end. The other night, TVB new series Every Move You Make premiered and was accused of plagiarizing American series Lie to me. Even TVB Producer (Gary Tang) predicted earlier there will be a series copying Lie to me!

The night before, Bowie Lam's Every Move You Make premiered, Netizens discovered that the series plagiarized American popular series Lie to me, whether if it's the characters or the story, both series are very similar.

Speaking of the similarities between the two series, Bowie's character and the main lead from Lie to me both developed childhood trauma due to an unexpected death of a loved one. The two characters loves to watch clips to analyze suspects' expressions and movements. Also both series have former American President Bill Clinton's affair as a case, analyzing the body language of the suspect to solve the case. In the past, TVB producer Gary Tang produced several high rated series including Files of Justice and Healing Hands, he predicted long ago that this will happen: "I have seen Lie to me, it is really a good series! At the time after I finished watching, I thought when will TVB have this type of series? What do you know, they did plagiarized and in fact plagiarized completely!" As for the Broadcasting Authority, yesterday they received 2 complaints regarding the plagiarism.

Kevin Cheng hopes to work with Niki Chow again

Posted by Admin 0 comments
It was reported that Producer Lee Tim Sing's series A Fistful of Stances received good response and because of this male lead Kevin Cheng is often suggesting that Tim Gor make a sequel. Eventually, Tim Gor decided to use Niki Chow as the female lead for this simple love story, therefore will give up on Kevin for the male lead. Towards this, Kevin said that he has never suggested Fistful 2 and that the final decision is left for the Producer to make. He will not get into it. If he is to work with ex-rumored girlfriend Niki Chow, will it be awkward? He said: "No, work is work. It's just that we once had rumors, I do hope to work with Niki again because we have not worked together for a long time." He also said that he supports both Charmaine Sheh and Sheren Tang for TV Queen this year, but he implies that he supports Charmaine because her chances are high. As for himself, he only has one series in the nominations, so he already prepared for defeat for TV King. Next month until December, he will be in Mainland for a new series and movie, so there is a chance he won't be able to attend the TVB anniversary award ceremony.

Moses Chan & Charmaine Sheh mutual support for TV King & Queen

Posted by Admin 0 comments
TVB hit series Can't Buy Me Love (CMBL) finale was broadcast last night. The cast members including Charmaine Sheh, Moses Chan, Fala Chen and Lee Heung Kam attended the "CMBL Big Reunion" attracting more than 1,000 people to surround the location and enjoy the finale. The location was packed. Moses and Charmaine mutually supported each other for the TV King and Queen titles. Moses promises again that he'll appear in swimwear if the TV ratings reach 50 points. Charmaine and Louis were unable to attend Kiki Sheung's wedding banquet, but still congratulated her through the TV broadcast.

Last night, almost all of the CMBL cast members attended, except for Linda Chung who is not in Hong Kong. They were on stage saying the motto together. Louis suggested that since it's Kiki's wedding banquet tonight, they should use Kiki's names in her series to say congratulating words. Charmaine sent the message 'long live in harmony, be together forever' to Kiki using her Third Princess status.

Charmaine will watch No Regrets

Charmaine was asked if she has confidence to receive 50 points in TV ratings just like Jewels In the Palace and Beyond the Realm of Conscience? She said try her best. Facing TVB anniversary series No Regrets threat, she generously said that she's looking forward to Cheung Wah Biu's script and in the past when she worked with him on Seven Sisters, she really admired his scripts. Is she worried that Sheren Tang is a threat to her for the TV Queen title? She felt that it should not be said like that, she wants TVB to have good productions too and she will be watching the series. As to ex-rumored boyfriend Kevin Cheng supporting her for TV Queen? She thanked him. When Moses Chan appeared, he said that Charmaine will definitely get TV Queen this year, in courtesy of that Charmaine also supports Moses.

If the ratings for the finale broadcast reaches 50 points, Moses promises to wear triangular swimsuit with his two brothers Louis Yuen and Raymond Wong, while Charmaine wears a bikini. Charmaine joked that she really anticipates seeing Moses in the swimsuit. They were asked if they want to shoot a CMBL sequel? Or maybe a modern version? They both said if that happens then they'll be very happy, but they fear that the modern version won't be as good as the ancient one.

Lee Heung Kam good health, not retiring

78 year old Lee Heung Kam denied the magazine reports saying that she's having health problems and has to retire. She said: "Choi!" She said that the magazine even wrote her injuries from 40 years ago. She is in very good health, will never retire. She really likes to act, even her family doesn't want her to retire because they'll have to arrange activities for her if she does. Before she mentioned to reduce the work and fears the difficulty of filming long series. Lee Heung Kam clarifies that she will not retire, or else the film production companies won't offer her jobs and ruin her path of earning money.

Moses Chan prepares to lose against Wayne Lai; New daring role as serial killer

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Depended on the high rated Can't Buy Me Love, Moses Chan although has become one of the hot favorites for TV King, he still felt that he's not Wayne Lai's opponent and is prepared to lose! Have always wanted a breakthrough performance, Moses will be playing a serial killer in his new series with "Sherlock Holmes" Adam Cheng. The two will be competing for the best acting!

Can't Buy Me Love starring Moses Chan and Charmaine Sheh has received good ratings, the year before he depended on the series Heart of Greed to win TV King, Moses is once again a hot favorite for this year's TV King award. Unfortunately, this year there is a huge competitor in front of him, Wayne Lai's No Regrets is the TVB anniversary series, he said: "This series, even I really want to watch it. Why wouldn't viewers anticipate as well?" He said that awards everyone wants to get, just that facing Wayne, he is prepared to lose.

Constantly wanting change, Moses often hopes to accept new challenges. Fortunately he has producer Chik Kei Yi giving him many opportunities, as an emperor, rich boy and bald look were all from producer Chik's series. Moses' new mission is to make a whole new breakthrough, he will be acting as a serial killer and even has a completely new partner, Adam Cheng. Moses is very excited and believes that there will be new sparks between the two.

In the acting industry, thousands of changes happen every day, same goes with the TV stations, having newcomers and the new generation. If things were left unchanged, then we would be lagging behind. That being said, facing the new Siu Sangs coming out, not only is Moses not worried, but he praised that it was good thing. "I am fortunate to have them around, otherwise there will be faults. The people in the past moved slowly, if there wasn't the new generation then nothing can succeed. A TV station is not supported by just one or two people." Towards the new generation Siu Sangs, Moses great praises them, felt that they are all special in their own ways. Like there is Raymond Lam who can sing, Bosco Wong who is handsome and just recently his new series with Tavia Yeung Yes, No Sir, there are many who just graduated from TVB training class. He and Tavia often gives them advice and encourages them. It is only with the new generation there this industry will blossom! As the saying goes, new waves push old waves, what happens if the waves get too big in the future? He laughed and said that he will not give up, never has he thought about the word "retire". He claimed that to last in this industry must "bite and not let go".

Relationship with Bernice Liu turns indifferent

Although he has left the film scene for a period of time, he still has many directors offering him opportunities to appear in films. However, many times he turned them down, he honestly said: "Unless it gives me a really good feeling, or I really have to film it, otherwise it's not good that I step in again." Getting down to the matter, Moses started off in the film scene and that has been the lowest point of his life. Currently he is satisfied with his development and does not hope to go back. No wonder he couldn't help but say: "This year I am getting more and more jobs, Tiger year is giving me luck."

Besides his flourishing career, this year Moses is especially "flourishing" in rumors as well. When he was filming CMBL, there were countless amounts of rumors with Charmaine Sheh. He sighed: "Is it because I don't have the force anymore or is it because Charmaine is too charming?" Speaking of rumored girlfriend Bernice Liu is really upset over the rumors? He said: "Anyone who sees it will be like that... (Has your relationship with Bernice turn sour because of that?) Still a rumor. (Have you seen her?) A lot less, we are both busy with our own jobs." Every time when Moses does interviews, no matter if it's on work, gossip, personal or even rumors, Moses will respond very quickly, except for when he speaks of "Bernice Liu", he turns unclear with his words. Perhaps this is the "soft spot" that everyone has.

Kiki Sheung & husband Patrick Lee holds 43 table glamorous wedding banquet

Posted by Admin 0 comments
48 year old Kiki Sheung and her husband Patrick Lee Wai Sing held their wedding banquet yesterday. Patrick threw in a million dollars to host the 43 table banquet at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Wai Chai. Same year TVB training class students as Kiki including Carina Lau, Sandra Ng, Sean Lau and his wife Amy Kwok and Margie Tsang attended. There were also Liza Wang and husband Law Kar Ying, Eric Tsang, Ron Ng, Kevin Cheng, Raymond Cho, Roger Kwok and his wife Cindy Au that appeared as well, the wedding banquet was filled with stars!

The bride Kiki wore a pair of Long Fung bracelets worth 6 figures accompanied with diamonds, pearl necklace, earrings and her engagement ring. Her accessories were worth a total of 7 figures. Kiki reveals that her husband designed a watch for her as a gift, she just didn't wear it today. As for Kiki's engagement ring was on her right hand, and that her left hand was reserved to put on her wedding ring.

Successfully losing 25 pounds, Kiki revealed her chest yesterday. Patrick gave a kiss on her cheek, making the scene very warm and romantic. This morning, the groom picked up his bride and then went to take photos in the afternoon and finally held the cake-cutting ceremony in the evening. Kiki expressed lovingly that she was so moved during the bride pickup part that she wanted to cry because in addition to saying "I Love You", her husband also sang Leon Lai's Love Is More Important Than Me live at the scene. Kiki said: "Three years ago, when I heard this song I was so touched I cried, today I put on water-resistant make up just in case."

The newly wedded couple held a marriage ceremony during the banquet last night. Carina Lau arrived early, she wore a black tube dress and looked very pretty. Carina and the rest of the 'sisters group' from the same year TVB training class were all mostly "Wai Siu Bo" wives in Duke of Mount Deer back in the day. Carina was asked if it's a "Siu Bo Wives" reunion? She said: "Really? I thought it was more of a TVB training class reunion. (Where is Siu Bo 'referring to Tony Leung'?) He's filming now. (What kind of gift did you give?) Secret. The most important is to send our blessings. I am very happy for her. (Will you rush them to have a baby?) Anything works, hope all their wishes come true."

Tony's ex-lover Margie Tsang and Carina arrived at the banquet one after the other. Although they avoided arriving at the banquet together and cause awkwardness, they were still arranged to sit together. Margie learned that Carina already arrived, she said: "Really? (Sitting together?) Yeah, we are classmates. (Haven't seen her for long time?) Yeah, before we would have dinner sometimes, but now got a little busier!" Arriving with Margie was Sandra Ng, she wore an open chest dress and had both of her hands flinging (no gift), Sandra said: "Money gift is the most stabled gift. (You all "Wai Siu Bo" wives are fighting for to be the prettiest?) It is Kiki's wedding, should respect them. (Did Kiki have a crush on anyone in the past?) No, back then in the training class, we were best friends with Sean Lau and Michael Tao!"
