Kate Tsui hits the rocks in singing becomes an orphan

Saturday, July 03, 2010 Posted by Admin 0 comments
After Myolie Wu and Linda Chung enters the music industry, Kate Tsui also officially enters the music industry last year with the help of TVB. Last year, Kate depended on her one fast song "Hit Me" heating up the music industry with her slapping patpat seductive dance. Kate's debut EP also received "2009 IFPI Record Sales - Most Popular Local Newcomer" and many other newcomer awards.

In the recent year, the music industry has fallen into depression. Yesterday sudden rumors broke out that Kate's record company Vigour Entertainment Asia decided to temporary stop music album production. According to rumors, the night before the publicist employee for Vigour received a layoff notice, making music newcomer queen Kate miserably becoming an orphan instantly. For the mean time, she has not found a new home (company).

Reporters contacted Vigour's boss (Cheung Tak Kwan) to ask about the rumors, he said honestly: "May or may not be true because Vigour currently reorganizing. (Great impact on the singers?) No because Vigour does not have many singers, but for now we really don't know. We'll know after the meeting next week." A senior publicist said: "Really? Where did you all hear this from? We cannot reveal anything now!"

Kate's TVB manager and also executive of artist department Virgina Lok expressed, kate and Vigour Asia contract already ended in May. Miss Lok said: "I don't believe they are stopping music production, I believe they're just reorganizing the company because 2 months ago, they discussed it with Ho Lai Chuen and I. They even revealed that they have good plans for the company."

Virgina is not worried about Kate's music career and expressed that Kate will not give up on singing, she said: "She took off from August - October to brush up her singing and dancing skills in Mainland. She's currently busy filming series and movies. As for music, no need to rush because it's not easy for a newcomer to release a debut album. To maintain the good results in the second album from the previous album is very hard. Besides Kate, Vigour is also interested in one or two more TVB artists. During this period, we will not sign Kate to a different record company, wait until they finish with their reorganization and find a compatible person, before we discuss a new contract."

Fala Chen becomes singer, Jade Kwan implies she's crying to get attention

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Yesterday Fala Chen and Jade Kwan were dressed in low cut short dresses to attend a press conference for joining a record company. Both showed off their career lines at the event. Good actress Fala Chen suddenly teared up on stage, successfully stealing first sister Jade Kwan's spotlight. No wonder Jade said: "I'm just making music" to indirectly get back at Fala, implying that she's just trying to get attention!

The day before, an insider for [Oriental Daily] revealed Fala's Neway boyfriend (Sit Sai Hang) heavily supported his girlfriend by giving up his family business to start a new record company of his own "Star Entertainment Ltd". Yesterday Star Entertainment held a press conference and announced their success in signing Fala Chen, Jade Kwan, Joyce Cheng and female newcomer Jinny Ng as their new contracted singers. Virgina Lok and many other large station executives came to support them.

As Star Entertainment's boss, Herman Ho strongly denied that Sit Sai Hang is actually the big boss behind the company: "100% not established by Sit Sai Hang. The Sit family did not invest in the company and does not have any shares." Later, the 4 artists went on stage one at a time to sign the contract. When Fala mentioned her success in becoming a singer, the happiest ones were her parents, she suddenly teared up and successfully stole the limelight.

Afterwards, Fala explained why she teared up, she denied that her new company is established by her boyfriend, but when asked if she's sure her boyfriend didn't invest in the company? She stuttered: "I'm not sure, have to ask Herman. (It was said that you signing with Star Entertainment is a way to help stand up for your boyfriend who lost his position in Neway?) No, it has nothing to do with other people." As to her boyfriend losing his position in his own family business? Fala said: "Don't judge people like that. It's a big company, rumors will affect their company. The Sit family is very nice, don't try to damage their brotherly relationship. (Do the two brothers talk?) It is not convenient for me to talk about other family issues." As for Jade who got the limelight stolen from her, she said: "I am just making music, not thinking too much. (Fala is first sister?) It's good, everyone is first sister."

Steven Ma:The Bitter before the Sweet

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Steven Ma entered the industry through his participation in the 1993 singing competition, began filming tv series in 1995, and is now a popular TVB siu sang. The series he was in all maintain a certain standard in ratings. The currently airing series, "Ghost Writer", has garnered an average rating of 30 points. Although it is pitted against World Cup, it still has audience support, this evinces he does exert a certain pull in viewership.

Steven's accomplishments in his career notwithstanding, he has in actuality endured quite a bit of hardship. Forced by stark reality, he was well-behaved and obedient from young, never causing his parents to worry over him. He entered the industry, and after five years of hard work, he already had the ability to enable his father to take early retirement so that he could concentrate in taking care of Steven's mother, who had nasopharyngeal cancer. It is precisely his mother's illness that had Steven, young as he was at a tender age of 6 years old, tasted the pain and suffering brought on by diseases and death.

Despite the family poverty-stricken circumstances, the disposition of his disease ridden mother remained positive; his father utterly devoted to her. In his eyes, his mother is the paradigm of a heroine (女中豪杰), while his father, a real man of the world. (江湖好汉) His attitude towards marriage is greatly influenced by his parents; marriage to him means sticking to each other through thick and thin, for better or for worse, taking care of and loving each other for a lifetime.

How about letting you experience the taste of bitter from young? Bitter before sweet! Just like Steven Ma.

Because of his mother's illness, he was in and out of hospital since six years old. Queen Elisabeth Hospital (QEH) became his second home at that time. He looked upon the compassionate attending physician as 'uncle'. At any time, he would see the adjacent bed patient checked in walking upright but checked out lying horizontal, even at such a young age he had already been exposed to an overload of life and death circulation. He already knew: "Life is very bitter." And even uttering it now can still impart an astringent taste to his lips.

When grown up, he suddenly realized that an aspect of him was a complete vacuum because of his early entry into the workforce. "That youthful frivolity and recklessness, they had nothing to do with me." Thinking back, Steven recounted his early life experiences: "Grade 9 (Form 3), school ended at 3:07 pm; spent an hour doing homework; 6 pm, sold ice cream at 星光行 until 12:30 am when it closed. The next day, school started at 7:15 am. Going to work everyday, earned about a thousand dollars or so. During summer break, worked around the clock, and earned 3 thousand dollars." He was extremely overjoyed. Because he knew that life was tough, he paid for his own school fees, books, shoes and socks.

"Even though exhausted, but was young, so treated it as physical exercise. From young I had always been very thoughtful, a very discipline person. And well aware of my own bottom line." Now at 38 years old, he more than ever will never permit himself to be reckless, "because as youngster if you did something wrong, your family may still be able to forgive you". As such, he would occasionally let himself roam free within the realm of his own thoughts, and be absorbed in his own world; "contented to just imagine."

Diligently maintains a balance of equilibrium

After graduating high school, he worked as a clerk in a publishing company, and was very mature for his age. Those days of bar hopping for young people seeking intoxication? He never had them. He preferred discipline and order. In 1993, after five years of working, it was with a sense of pride he told his father to retire from his job. His father is 70 years old now; that he is in good health gives Steven his greatest gratification.

"I don't like surprises. I worry I can't stand them. For my birthday, I don't want my friends to spring a surprise party on me." He strives hard to maintain a balance of equilibrium on his emotions. "I'll not let myself be extremely happy or extremely sad." All things must have their originating causes. "I've had enough of them during my mom's illness. 3 o'clock in the morning, because of seizure was sent to emergency care; after urgent treatment, everything was fine again. Since I was six years old until 28, I constantly endured this feeling of impotence, fear and heartache."

In 1999, his mother died of illness; his whole inner being felt hollowed out. "After she left, I got into the habit of not answering the phone. I had the ringer turned off." The prior fear cloaked him like shadow just like it did before. "Every time something happened to her, I became very scared; but if she got well, I became extremely happy." For a prolonged period, the emotional ups and downs in him fluctuated immensely. And then his mother passed away. "During those days, I never shed a drop of tears; I was like a robot." He took to drinking, got drunk and slept it off. Some friends were disturbed by his abnormal behavior and sought him out to talk to him so that he could release his suppressed feelings. Only then did he cry bitter tears. "From 2000 to 2001, my emotional condition was very erratic."

One turbulence after another

His emotional state besieged; depression insidiously crept in; admit it or not, it came knocking on his door anyway. He consulted a mood swings therapist who prescribed a blood serum drug for re-balancing. However, he was more susceptible than other people to its side effects. "I vomited so badly." And soon a new problem arrived before the old was solved. Before the depression was fully treated, anxiety attacks looked him up. With much experience, Steven recounts: "When the attack sets in, the heart turns 'cool' (心就會涼一涼(?)), after which, a crippling feeling of unease, begins to panic and hyperventilate, the hands turn numb, and the head feels woozy. Had sought out emergency care several times."

I, too, have suffered panic attacks in the past but compare to Steven's symptoms, they truly paled in significance. He tries to explain further: "I've experienced having my heart beat extremely fast. So rapidly my whole body trembled from top to bottom." He was so scared he could only lie down on the floor and dial 999. After a 24 hour ECG monitoring in the hospital, it was discovered that two of his heart blood vessels are congenital short circuits.

In the past, he used to bottle up his feelings. He self-analysed that when young he must have had a slight case of withdrawal. "My eyes never looked directly at other people, only looked at the ground. Detached from worldly affairs, and withdrawn from worldly struggles. Got A for student conduct. " He kept his love buried in his heart, and was not too good at expressing it. If going deeper, it was probably due to low self-confidence and the fear of rejection. But then he would ask himself: "I have a warm family, so no reason to feel inferior."

Parents are the classic husband and wife model

Steven's memory is extraordinary. He can even vividly remember the time when he was two years his mother almost dropped him because she dozed off; the time in the kindergarten when he threw a fit looking for his mother; his deceased maternal grandfather with his heavily made up face lying inside his coffin. He only wants to tell me that during that time how much he enjoyed been lost in his own world, and that he did not know how to communicate with other people. "I felt that I couldn't do things as well as other people. Only in solitiary activities was I better, such as: arranging the books on the shelves in the library, so very neatly and orderly. Also learned to draw; I was a member of the Arts Society."

Rumors had it that Steven will soon marry Vivian, his girlfriend of seven years. He explains: "All this time, our dating was very low-key. Seven years already, no reason not to know acknowledge her. But the acknowledgment brought on a lot of ensuing consequences, many people called me up offering their help to assist us, including hotels and wedding photography." He adds: "I will for sure get married, but I never said I would do that next year." Even his younger sister when she read the report retorted: "Ah Goh, aren't you being a bit too secretive?" (T.note: Re: An earlier news article reported that Steven will marry girlfriend next year, which he has since clarified to be erroneous.)

He wants to apply his parents' formula of living together through thick and thin, and their mutual cherishing of each other for himself. Steven also has great expectation and hopes for marriage. "In my eyes, they were the classic husband and wife, the most perfect husband and wife. All those years Mom was sick and suffered physically, but she was always optimistic. Dad stood by her and got her through. Her cancer relapsed three times, towards the end she couldn't see or hear. For a stretch of four years or so, the whole family had to rely on the writing board to communicate with Mom. The initial radiotherapy was extremely harmful to the patient. Its side effects were pervasive. Once applied, good or bad tissues would be adversely affected. The tissues next to the pituitary gland were damaged by the radiation causing the joint of the mandible (lower jaw) to lock up as it became increasingly tighter and tighter. No matter how much force was applied, it was impossible to get the mouth to open up. Mom had no way of eating." The doctor recommended drilling a hole into the stomach to infuse nutrients into her.

Couldn't Bear to see Mother die of Starvation

The extremely strong mother having undergone all kinds of torments refused to have the operation. The doctor said: "Without the operation, she will die of starvation within a week." As her son, how could Steven bear to see his own mother slowly dying of starvation? He could not stop his tears from falling. His mother felt her son's pain, and helplessly she agreed to the aperture operation on her stomach. "Maybe her body was too weak because during the post operation, she caught pneumonia and passed away." Eleven years have since elapsed but that feeling of guilt has imprinted into an indelible pain in his heart. During his recounting, his eyes turned red and brimmed with tears; he blames himself: "After she passed away, I could still cope at first but later I collapsed; my demons had stayed inside me; always blaming myself. Maybe Mom could have had lasted a few more days."

Because his mother was sick for 22 years, Steven understands more than ever the significance of good health and life. "I've never sympathized with suicide victims; only feel that they were pitiful, since they had the courage to commit suicide, why then didn't they have the courage to face life? Death is not scary, but I am horrified to see some parents carrying their kids seeking death. Your death will end it for you, but you leave the pain behind to the ones who love you." Regarding the suicide news (especially the students') the media tends to milk it to the max. "When watched by impressionable kids, its imparts an adverse influence on them. They really think they could use death to control their parents. I hope the HK news media can understand this."

He also advices those who are considering killing themselves that before doing it to first "visit a terminal patients ward, to see how these patients struggle to live, and how they undergo the whole gamut of treatments all for the very hope of seeing the world for an extra minute, or to live another day."

Extra strong sense of time

Because of a sickly mother, the connection between Steven and the illness demon cannot be detached. He is not scared of death, and he understands the pain from illness. "If truly fallen sick, no option to panic. If sick, you have to face it positively, see it as character building, could only use a positive attitude to accept it. Like my Mom, she accepted her illness and was very strong. She was a great mother. She was always smiling even when radiation made her hair all fall off. It hurt us to her as such but she treated it as nothing. "There was once when Mom was eating, halfway through she put down the rice bowl and went to the bathroom. After a while she came out wiping the trace of blood from the corner of her mouth. Seeing her son's concern expression, she calmly answered: "It's nothing!" Steven rushed into the bathroom and only then did he see the traces of blood that stuck to the sink. Turned out that she had just vomited blood. That is why Steven described his mother as a heroine.

During his second older sister's pregnancy, she had Toxemia. When she arrived at the hospital, her whole body was swollen up, and the fetus was asphyxiating. He uses his hands to illustrate: "A seven month old baby, only slightly bigger than my palm. When born, had a heart surgery immediately; at the time, scared to death, but now, already this big." His younger sister also has cancer but is in remission right now. Like their mother, she has an optimistic attitude. "That's why I don't want my mood to swing high and low. Strive for moderation per the Doctrine of the Golden Mean. I don't want to go through too much excitement." He takes an extraordinary strong stance on time. He is annoyed if someone is tardy. "Maybe they don't have the same concept on time. Because a minute can save a human life. With my own eyes, I saw Mom in seizure. Within a minute, the doctor came and promptly gave her a shot, and she was fine again. If within that one minute the doctor did not appear, she would have been dead. I understand the significance of one minute. I always respect time."

Risk-aversive in finance management.

The media says he has a girlfriend with a half-billion dollars net worth. Steven's point of view is: "What's her net worth, I've no idea. Though I was not born of a rich family, but after working hard, I now at least have my own vehicle, flat and money. And my lifestyle is stable. But some people said my education background is poor." Though he did not come right out with it but reading between lines, he was slightly put out: "Although I only graduated high school but I never give up on learning. I enrolled in the history course offered by a public university, and did self-study for two years. The more I studied, the more I became alarm. I felt that I have so much room for self-improvement."

He has a strong sense of family. Currently, he is living with his family, including his father. Whenever he needs a quiet time for meditation, his family and girlfriend will oblige him with their understanding and consideration. "I'm very thankful to her. She is also very busy with her own work, always flying here and there. We have no conflicts. I,too, look forward to the day we can tie the knot. But before marrying, one must think it through carefully such as: their love for each other, and the degree of tolerance for each other. I'm an emotional person with fluctuating mood swings, very perceptive; aside from handling work, not all that realistic towards daily life, human life and life itself; more self-absorbed. And she is tolerant of my personality. I would not be able to stand someone who wants to constantly control me. I need a lot of personal space." And his so-called space is to just let him be alone inside a room for quiet time with a desk, a television and internet.

Seven years already, their dating has already passed the passionate love stage. He, on the contrary, rather appreciates the feeling of a long flowing kind of relationship. "No need to be anxious ma. Anyway, I'm not going to find another." He is also fond of children. He will certainly be a good father in the future.

When he first entered the industry, the recording company told Steven to conceal his public housing residency background. Later, Chiu Chung Man (趙崇文) said to him: "Grew up in the pubic housing, and yet have such accomplishments, should feel proud instead. Whether a person is successful or not is unrelated to his background." After a journey of 38 years, Steven is without regrets. Since his teenage foray into society he has been self-sufficient and has fulfilled his filial obligations. His self-evaluation of himself: "I guess it's all right lo! (都算系咁喇!) I will not compare myself with other people; whether they have more of this or less of that; somehow or another, people always have to pay. I'll not envy other people; it would be better to do well by myself. Let my inner light shines to the max, and live life wonderfully. Then at least, I did not live in vain. And in the end, to leave with a smile."

Producer Tsui Yu On predicts that Raymond Lam and Fala Chen will be most successful

Posted by Admin 0 comments
TVB producer Tsui Yu On has been active in the television industry for more than 30 years and has produced many popular series. His expertise is in producing sitcoms that are well-received by the general audiences and is often credited with resurrecting the career of Nancy Sit. In terms of the current generation ‘siu sangs’ and ‘fa dans’, producer Tsui predicts that Raymond Lam and Fala Chen will be most successful.

Tsui Yu On started his career as a video engineer at TVB in the 1970s – in his position, he was pretty much the ‘right-hand man’ for the directors and therefore started to become interested in television series production. Under the encouragement of producer Catherine Tsang, Tsui changed career paths and became assistant director. In 1988, he left TVB and went to Singapore, where he was able to refine his skills and eventually became a producer. In 1993, he returned to TVB and since then, has produced many popular series that have garnered much public accolade, such as "Happy Harmony", "A Kindred Spirit", "Return of the Cuckoo", "Virtues of Harmony", and more recently, the new sitcom "Some Day". Amongst these, the series "A Kindred Spirit" and "Virtues of Harmony" became huge hits and set high ratings records for sitcoms.

Among the many series that Tsui Yu On produced, "A Kindred Spirit" is the one that has been most memorable for him. The collaboration of Louise Lee and Nancy Sit was a huge success and the duo became an unexpected ‘dream team.’ Tsui says: “A Kindred Spirit" originally aired in the ‘golden’ timeslot, however due to the ratings not being too good at first, we had thought about cutting the series at the 89th episode. In the end, the company decided to move the series to the late night (11pm) timeslot; this proved to be a good thing for the series, as the timeslot attracted a lot of ‘late night’ audiences – those who worked late and would get home just in time to tune in. The average ratings for the series went from 18 points [in the ‘golden’ timeslot] to 28 points [in the late night timeslot], which was a huge encouragement for the entire cast and crew.”

Speaking of "A Kindred Spirit", Tsui was asked why he decided to invite Nancy Sit (who had already retired from the industry) to return to the industry and film this series. Tsui replied: “I read in a magazine that Nancy had plans to come out of retirement and return to do some acting work in the industry, plus up to that point, I was not able to find a suitable artist to play the role of ‘Auntie Ho’, so I decided to ask her if she was interested.” "A Kindred Spirit" was instrumental in resurrecting Nancy Sit’s career in the 1990s and later on, in the 2000s, her career reached its peak with the vastly popular sitcom "Virtues of Harmony" (both the costume version as well as the modern day spinoff).

Tsui Yu On also likes to utilize newer generation artists in his series – amongst them, Louis Koo, Bernice Liu, and Linda Chung have been most successful in his sitcoms: “Back in the 90s when Louis Koo was cast in "Happy Harmony", I already felt he had potential, however his looks were too ‘boyish’. Later on, when he changed his image and became more tanned, he saw instant success and is now a very cool, handsome guy.”

As for the current generation of TVB ‘siu sangs’ and ‘fa dans’, Tsui Yu On feels that Raymond Lam and Fala Chen have the most potential: “I feel that Raymond possesses all the qualities that a ‘siu sang’ should have, such as good looks, closeness with the audience, and most importantly, solid acting. In terms of ‘fa dans’, I admire Fala because I feel that she has natural acting talent – you only need to explain things to her once and she gets it right away.”

Fala Chen to become a singer with the help of her Neway boyfriend?

Friday, July 02, 2010 Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments
(Sit Sai Hang)
"Neway Big Siu Lai" Fala Chen can finally fulfill her singer dream. It is understood that Fala will soon be singing a contract with Neway's old executive Herman Ho's record company and becomes opposite of Neway, which is currently managed by Neway's second young master (Sit Ka Lun), fighting back for her boyfriend Sit Sai Hang!

It was said that Neway's two young masters Sit Sai Hang and Sit Ka Lun are both fighting to get up top, making it hard on the two girlfriends Fala and Marie Zhuge. It was rumored that Fala had always wanted to release a music album and under the support of her boyfriend, she can easily become Neway's first sister. She personally went to Herman Ho, a trusted adviser to Sit Sai Hang and was still Neway's executive at the time, to discuss a contract. However, unexpectedly Neway gone through some changes where the company's management was handed over to Hang's younger brother Sit Sai Lun. Lun quickly objected to signing Fala, scattering her singer dreams.

After Lun became the head of the company, Hang's trusted assistant Herman quickly left Neway and started his own company "Star Entertainment Ltd." Tomorrow he's going to be holding a press conference at Four Seasons Hotel. The singers under Star Entertainment including Jade Kwan, Fala Chen, Joyce Cheng and newcomer Jinny Ng will be attending.

Earlier, rumors say Fala and Hang secretly married. Recently news reveals Hang is actually one of the big bosses behind "Star Entertainment", he put out money and effort behind the scenes to help out his girlfriend, Fala is said to release her debut album in October. She's strongly supported to get this year's Newcomer Award. Because of Hang and Herman's relationship, the royalties paid is higher than the average TVB artist signing for a record company, increased to 20%, so Fala earns even more.

[Oriental Daily] contacted Fala to confirm, she replied through her manager: "She did meet Herman Ho earlier. Whether or not the contract is successful, the decision is made by TVB. Fala personally does really want to be a singer and release albums." As for Herman Ho, he accepted an interview and admitted that he did meet with Fala: "I've heard her record before, felt that her vocals are pretty good. She really enjoys singing. (Is the big boss Sit Sai Hang?) Absolutely not." As for Joyce's manager (Chan Suk Fan), she said: "We have discussed many times, we have intentions to collaborate."

Liu Xuan first time in TVB series, worried she'll curse without knowing in Cantonese

Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments

TVB new series (Woman Boxing) held its costume fitting yesterday. Liu Xuan, Fala Chen, Bosco Wong, Kenneth Ma, Raymond Wong, John Chiang and Dominic Lam attended. Under the hot weather, the cast wore thick pre-modern costumes, seems like it was hard to bear for them. Being sick for a month, Liu Xuan expressed she felt a little suffocated, perhaps she's not adapted to the humid weather in Hong Kong yet. First time participating in a TVB series, Liu Xuan will show off her martial arts. Liu Xuan said she won't know Kung Fu until the middle of the series. It was said that (Woman Boxing) may be one of this year's anniversary series, does she feel blessed? Liu Xuan said if it is true, then she's really happy, but that is too pressuring. Heard that TVB series undergoes fast paced filming, her Cantonese is not that great, she needs her assistant to help translate the script for her. She hopes the other cast members won't laugh at her. Is she afraid of pronouncing the words wrong and ends up being a curse word? She frankly said that she is worried, especially when she doesn't know when she says something wrong.

Fala describes her role as a bit like the late Dik Na, determined and strong personality. As to if she'll appear sexy? She said no, only her personality and experience is like Dik Na, she is a fictional character. Does Fala feel that she's like Dik Na in reality? She said that she only knew who Dik Na is through the news, she knows that Dik Na is very smart, very capable woman, Fala has not accomplished that yet. Fala also mentions that at first, her role uses several different ways to reach her goals, marrying an old man and then when she later meets Bosco Wong and Kenneth Ma, she begins to change.

John Chiang has played numerous roles before, but as Wong Fei Hung, this is the first time. He said that Master Wong is deep in people's hearts, where Kwan Tat Hing and Jet Li has portrayed before. This time the producer hopes that he can use a more comfortable way to portray Wong Fei Hung. He admits that he feels pressure, so he's started training two months ago for the role to avoid losing his breath in front of the camera, Lau Ka Leung has promised to help him. He felt that Wong Feo Hung does not have enough action scenes, he requested to add more extreme fighting scenes opposite of Bosco, Kenny Wong and Law Lok Man.

"The Mysteries of Love" highest rating celebration: Finale 38 points, peaks at 42

Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments

Raymond Lam, Kenneth Ma, Tavia Yeung and Bernice Liu attended a celebration for their high rated series (Mysteries of Love). The finale episode received the highest ratings so far, averaging 38 points and peaking at 42 points. On stage, Raymond was requested to treat everyone for a trip to Thailand. He fought back saying that he never seen Kenneth do any treating.

Kenneth said Raymond is going to have a concert soon, earning lots of money, but Raymond doesn't show his weakness as he said: "I heard Kenneth Ma also got himself a new car. I really never said that I'll treat a trip to Thailand, but I should treat everyone to a meal. However, have to wait until I finish my concert first. (Is Kenneth cheap?) I don't know how to say it, I done the treating numerous times, just too many times. Kenneth is not cheap, he's a good man!"

(Mysteries) has always been criticized of copying Japanese drama (Detective Galileo), coincidentally TVB is currently airing the drama again. Raymond said: "I'm not afraid that viewers may find more similarities. (Is there going to a sequel?) I didn't agree to anything from Producer Lau Ka Ho. (How will you celebrate Virgina Lok's birthday?) Every year I'm always there for her, but the gift isn't. (Afraid of the ICAC, don't dare to give gifts?) No, maybe I'll treat her to dinner."

Tavia learned that (Detective Galileo) is broadcasting again on TVB, she joked: "That evil? Well it's good, I never watched it. Don't know if viewers will compare me to the series, but I think most housewives ('see lai') are asleep at that time. (Mysteries sequel?) The ending is already really good. If there is a sequel, hopefully there will be a whole new story. (Wait for more Japanese dramas to air, then copy some more?) Not necessary. Maybe the Japanese dramas copies us! I want to work with more male artists. I haven't kissed Takeshi Kaneshiro or Kevin Cheng before. The most recent one is Raymond Wong. His wife told me to play more with her husband. I won't get a few slaps from other people since I stamp collect and kiss fairly. (Work with your rumored boyfriend Chris Lai?) He's my good brother and good sister"

Ray Lui clarifies autobiography, did not write Cally Kwong forced the marriage

Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments

Ray Lui and Cally Kwong were married in 1995 and divorced soon sfter. The short mariage was 13 years ago, but when Ray was promoting for his autobiography in Mainland he mentioned that his marriage with Cally was "suggested by her". Before they got married, they were already arguing constantly. Back then he hosted a large wedding banquet, but they never registered for marriage. Then when they got divorced, he still paid alimony to Cally.

Yesterday reporters contacted Cally Kwong, she expressed that she's really busy with work and has no time to respond to other people's issues. "I can only say that I am a person who is strict to myself, but lenient towards others. I never read this book nor will I care about it. You all want to know what I think then you can read my new book launching at the book fair soon."

Currently on vacation in Japan, Ray learned of the reports and was very agitated. He said that his autobiography is about his life experiences and his 3 marriages. He definitely did not blame Cally for the marriage. Ray said: "I did not say she forced me to marry her, it was just that time I was not prepared to be married. I was talking about myself, I never said that she was not good. I even praised her singing and that she knows how to do business. Although we broke up, we still maintained a good relationship afterwards. If we see each other, we will greet one another and chat. What the magazines wrote about me, how do you expect me to face her in the future? I will contact her and will give her a copy of my autobiography, allowing her to understand that whatever the magazines wrote is not true. There is also a possibility that Iwill seek legal action against the false reports."

Ray describes his relationship with Cally as "destined but cannot be together". Also, he does not want to talk about it too much because it happened so many years ago, why bring it up again and hurt her? As to the magazines saying that Cally never received the alimony from him, Ray didn't want to argue: "I don't want to explain anymore. I already clarified, I never wrote the words 'forced marriage' in my book at all."

TVB to spend 250 million on World Cup 2014 broadcast rights

Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments

The FIFA World Cup is already on round 16 and the England-Germany rivalry war has started some problems. However, as Hong Kong's leading television station, TVB of course wants to save face after losing the broadcasr rights 3 times in a row. TVB plans to spend 250 million on trying for broadcast rights to 2014's World Cup.
i-Cable gained the World Cup broadcast rights for 240 million and is broadcasting the harsh conditions, even TVB and ATV's news cannot broadcast clips of the games, causing complaints among viewers. TVB created a show trying to stimulate the games, but hardcore soccer fans criticize the show being stupid. However, although i-Cable got exclusive rights to broadcast the entire event, all soccer fans were unable to watch the exciting goalie issue that happened between the England-Germany game. Even Mark Lui and Louis Cheung were so angered they blasted i-Cable. As Hong Kong's leading television station, TVB lost the broadcasting rights 3 times since 2001, losing face. It was said that TVB is trying to maintain their first brother status and decided to spend 250 million on fighting back the broadcasts rights. There is a possibility that the HK government will issue twi free television licenses this year. When that happens, it will be a battle between 7 stations (TVB, ATV, i-Cable, NowTV and 3 other stations) for the World Cup broadcast rights.

The media (The Sun) contacted TVB Director of Foreign Affairs (Ho Lai Chuen) to confirm, he said: "Bidding for the next World Cup ends this November. TVB is still in the process of discussing the details because for the last 3 World Cups, Hong Kong citizens were not able to watch the event for free, plus TVB learned a lesson this year, felt that this year we should really take action! (Use 250 million?) How much to spend is still too early to say because after all it is a high price."

Leon Lai greatly promotes newcomer "JW" who hasn't even met the public yet

Tuesday, June 29, 2010 Posted by lucychoi559 0 comments

Getting major support from Leon Lao, female newcomer "JW" can be said to have had a head start. On July 24th, JW will be holding her first mini concert "JW Misses Old Friends Concert". Already 5,000 tickets have been sold in only three days. To thank fans, another show will be added. JW is already gaining so much popularity even before she meets the public, no wonder her major promoter Leon Lai said: "There are some things we couldn't believe, need her to record songs and practice singing ASAP."

It was rumored that JW's vocals are similar to Janice Vidal, Leon immediately said the golden phrase: "Well then Gong Mi (Mainland Pirated Cecilia Cheung) looks like Cecilia Cheung too? Would you chat more with a girl who has a similar voice to your wife? People who listen to music are just listening to music, people who have a habit of judging, will judge. Neitzens criticizing online will continue to do so, people who have a habit of using their ears to distinguish things will use their ears. We are all just using a different way to look at it. Just like today you all asked me such a professional question, am I answering it in a professional way too? You all can decide."

Currently so busy that he has no time to watch the World Cup, Leon expresses that his work is the priority, but when asked which team he supports? He thought for a moment. "I suuport Hong Kong! We all need to have trust, sooner or later in 20 years HK will make it! Don't think Hong Kong can't do it."

It was reported that Gaile Lok is infertile and thus led to change in their marriage. Leon said: "I have to clarify, being in the industry for so long, audience may not necessarily want to see when I'm going to have children, not necessarily wanting to know my progress of having a baby. It is the media who insists on using this method to ask me! The film scene is already really boring, and now trying to be more boring and ask these questions? Everyone needs to find a new updated topic." Leon said that he's not an artist trying to start a hype, he will ignore any gossips.
