Johnnie To said his acting sucks, Raymond Wong: I won't disappoint him

Tuesday, July 07, 2009 Posted by Admin 0 comments
As "Chai Gau" always says: "How many 10 years in life is there", Raymond Wong has already been in the entertainment industry for one of his 10 years (12 years to be exact). In 1997, Raymond started his career in Johnnie To's film "Lifeline" (十萬火急) co-starring alongside Film King Sean Lau. In the 12 years, Raymond went from the film industry into the TV industry. Raymond says: "I am only 33 years old, and there are still many more 10 years waiting for me. I don't have any requests, but I just hope people could admire my acting like Chai Gau Wayne Lai, then I will be happy enough."

Already been in TVB for nearly 2 years, Raymond's been accepting series after series, first he participated in "Marriage of Inconvenience", "When A Dog Meets A Cat", "When Easterly Showers Fall On The Sunny West" and the most recent one "Sweetness In the Salt". Netizens strongly praised his portrayal as the weak and ill Second Young Master (Wu Ting Hin) in "Sweetness", his acting gives off a bright feeling. Raymond honestly answers Reporters questions, he said: "Actually those many series could be more dense, I have a lot of inventory in TVB. Already been with TVB for a period of time, I already gotten used to it, I am a person who likes to act, it is within work that I find pleasure, this way I have a special satisfied feeling. Especially how TVB is a very good place to learn how to act. I didn't start out in the acting class, therefore I have not officially received any training in acting, so I will need to learn from my different co-stars."

Although "Sweetness In the Salt" is from the same producer Lee Tim Seng, but if it wants to get the same success as Chai Gau, then it could be quite difficult. The series has already hit its 3 week in broadcast, the TV Ratings have only got an average of 30 points, it is considered not too bad. Many viewers got to know Raymond Wong, with boosts his popularity! "How can I be compared with Wayne Lai, he has been in the business for 20 some years, he has already won people's hearts. Last year, the moment he won the "Best Supporting Actor" Award, everyone in the ceremony stood up and applaud him. I know when TVB started filming "Rosy Business", all of his colleagues would go up to Wayne and congratulate him and looked forward to when his upcoming series will be aired. Wayne has already been in the industry for 20 some years, his reservoir is more than just acting, it is the audience. Some people, you hear his name then you would know he's very good, but I also heard some people, once they heard his name, then they will know that if they don't go support him there will be nothing to miss. I just hope to do my best, when everyone hears my name, they don't reject me, then I'm fine."

Maybe because Reporters still got the wrong idea, they still feel that an actor coming from Film to TV is actually something to be proud of, but Raymond is still recovering from lost of self-confidence. "When I first entered TVB to film series, I was facing a new environment, new colleagues, I was really not used to it. Although many people say that filming TV series is not as good, but when you find pleasure from filming series, then you would feel that its very enjoyable. The most important thing is to satisfy your interests. An artist is usually waiting for an opportunity, in the process of waiting, it usually renders negative energy, it becomes discouraging. There was a period of time where I felt that my acting was back in the pond, that is already a lost in general, I felt that my acting was betterwhen I first entered the industry than it was now."

"Sweetness In the Salt" allowed me to regain a satisfied feeling again. Producer Lee Tim Seng asked me to be in the series, actually it is very daring because at the time I told him: "I need to shave my head for the performance though", I didn't say anything more and went to shave my head. After reading the script, I knew that I was going to act as an ill person, so I personally lost 140 pounds for the role. Filming ancient series is not the same as modern series, there are many things that you can't say like you would in modern series. Like the love relationship between Tavia Yeung and I, to make it more romantic, the script spoke about me catching fireflies to make her happy, actually I really feel that it was quite romantic. My father-son relationship with Kwok Fung was also very touching, Kwok Fung is a very great senior, he taught me that I should always worry about the big picture when I do things, I cannot just worry about myself. I have to make the people around me feel comfortable. I treat myself as newcomer, not only respect my seniors, but also have to use my heart to ask them for advice. I always tell Tavia and Steven to teach me how to act. Earlier when I was filming "When Easterly Showers Fall On The Sunny West", I also told Liza Wang and Charmaine Sheh that if there is a problem, please tell me. After filming this series, it was like my spirit came back, my self-confidence came back. After that, everything else went smoothly, so the series "Sweetness" is really a turning point for me."

Raymond Wong's experience with the entry into the business is actually very simple. Originally a college graduate working with I.T, his appearance was handsome and his height was OK, he crossed the big bridge to become a model. Then, according to him, his "teacher" Johnnie To noticed him and cast him in his film "Lifeline", just with one hand he entered the entertainment business. Unfortunately in 2003, after "PTU", the two had not had any chance to collaborate again. Johnnie To lashed out at him saying that his acting sucked. April 2009, Johnnie To was celebrating his birthday, Raymond Wong was no where to be seen at his party. Raymond says: "Actually in April, I did go, but I went in through the back door. You guys (Reporters) just didn't catch me. Johnnie invited me and was also very happy. But after "PTU", he really felt disappointed in me, now thinking back, I really do agree with him, that my acting sucked back then, it was very exaggerated. Other people felt that I am handsome, but I think my look is just too sharp, my face is not able to easily get into character, my outer appearance also loses points. Look at Anthony Wong, Lam Suet, etc. they walk out and loudly tell you that 'I'm an actor", once they raise their hand, they catch it all. Sometimes they sweep from left to right, when they already have something to film. If you ask me if my current acting skills is passing? I would feel that it passes. Teacher (Johnnie To) and I a lot of times do not need to say everything, it's hard for two men to say we miss each other, it's so mushy! When I have dinner with him, I tell him, he definitely has to wait for me, the wait will definitely not disappoint him. He nodded his head and agreed to wait."

Raymond Lam too busy with two timing (filming Series & Movie) no time for break

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Raymond Lam and Kay Tse will soon be working together in a new film "Expert In Love" (戀愛達人). Turns out this is their first collaboration, but they have already seen each other many times in Award Ceremonies. Raymond has a good feeling that they will have great chemistry.

Although Raymond has already accepted to be in a modern series (with Tavia Yeung), he feels that it won't affect the filming progress of his new movie, the series production crew is accommodating to the filming schedule for the movie. Asked if he would complain that he's too busy? He said: "My management arranged all this, I will try my best to go do it. (Too spoiled?) I have pressure because I'm afraid I won't be able to them well. It's been a long time since I took a break, I hope I can be able to take one soon."

[Takungpao] Kay Tse expressed that she really likes the script to the new movie. She felt that its hot and cut, the Director also expressed that the movie has beautiful people and beautiful scenery. Towards male lead Raymond Lam, Kay expressed that she has a great impression on him, she felt that he is a person who takes his work seriously. They have seen each other in award ceremonies many times, but this is the first time they are working together, there will probably be a fresh new feeling. Are there any intimate scenes? Kay expressed that their love story is quite superficial, the movie is like a fantasy.

Ron and Sammul appeared in "Laughing gor apostasy" for free

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Michael Tse was filming "Laughing Gor of apostasy" in Tsim Sha Tsui yesterday. Ron Ng and Sammul Chan were acting as police officers who were trying to give Michael a parking ticket in the street. Michael called up over 10 of his gang to threaten the policemen. He was very cheeky to the two, even recorded the incidence, threatening the two, saying he would put the recording in the internet if the two continued to make trouble for him. When Michael left the scene with his gang, he was seen throwing his lucky 5 dollar coin up and down.

Ron and Sammul only worked on that scene for one day, they expressed that they were bullied by Michael. Asked if they were paid to do that part, they replied "No, we support the Hong Kong film industry, payment is not important to us as long as we are happy." Ron said he didn't know he had a part in it originally, he only got the notice few days ago. Reporter asked whether he thought his part was too small, Ron said that was good enough. Ron and Sammul expressed their wishes to work with Anthony Wong so that they might learn something from him, but it was a pity they missed that chance.

When Michael was filming that day, he attracted a lot of onlookers who wanted to take pictures with him. He said that scene was the ending part. The reporter asked how come he didn't disclose that Ron and Sammul were in fact Chung Lap Man and Lee Pak Kiu from "EU"? Michael replied "This is because the timing was not right, we don't want to confuse the audience. They wore the police uniform, they do look like the police in EU, but we want to let the audience to have their own imagination" Asked if he felt the part the two played was small? Michael said the film is only 2 hours long, that depends what people meant by small part. Some people has a part only lasted for a few seconds in a film, timing is not that important sometimes.

Talking about Anthony Wong complained about the mess up on the filming schedule. Michael told the reporter to ask Anthony himself as he goes to work everyday when he gets his notice, he doesn't know if there is any mess up. There were reports that Anthohy and Francis Ng received payment of 1,200,000 HKD each, even though Michael is the lead actor, he only gets 100,000HKD. Michael smiled "Some reported 1,200,000 and others said 2,000,000, I wonder if anyone gets 8 figure sum. In fact, the fees are confidential, it is not easy for people to find out." The reporter went on to ask if he is worried that there is a big discrepancy between his fee and Anthony's? Michael said "I am happy to say that at least they didn't report that I only get 500 dollars." Michael said he dared not ask how much Anthony's fee is because it is not important. He felt the media is using it as a gossip topic and he is happy for what he gets.

Toby Leung Accompanies Natalie Tong Through The Hardest Times

Posted by Admin 0 comments
This year Natalie Tong has encountered many unhappy incidents. Since Natalie's mother passed away, rumored boyfriend Amigo Chui was reported cheating on her. Outsiders thought it was too much for her to take in but she handled each matter comfortably. Natalie has developed a very good sister friendship with Toby Leung. Although their friendship is not very deep Toby has accompanied Natalie through the toughest times.

Both of them have been in the industry for a few years. But have never worked together until the series "The Threshold of a Persona". Seeing each other day and night the pair became good friends. In the series they have a love triangle with Patrick Tang but in real life they both said together "Definitely not".

Toby Leung: T
Natalie Tong: N

T: It seems like Natalie and me have swapped characters. In the series she is very independent and I am afraid of everything. But in real life she is like my older sister. I need to take care of her instead.

N: I enjoy acting because I can play characters different to my real self. In the series we both like the same guy but in real life we don't.

T: Certainly not the same guy! I am strange, my boyfriend doesn't need to be goodlooking or be rich. It just depends on the feeling. The more simple the better. But he must enjoy playing sports. what about you?

N: In the past I would choose guys who are tall and handsome. But now he's not tall or handsome.

T: He's Okay. Hahaha

N: Yeah, He is handsome to me.

Have Patience to find their prince

Reporter: Are you both talking about Amigo Chui?

N: Wah! Of course I'm not going to answer that

Reporter: Amigo is often captured going to night clubs and flirting. Does this make you mad?

N: Why would it? We are friends. Everyone has the right to choose. If he feels that it isn't a problem then that's okay. As a friend I will chat about it if necessary.

T: Questions about love cannot be answered by others. But love is blind, even when friends persuade you out of it or scold you, you will have the urge to continue. Just like a child playing with fire. People tell them it's hot but they want to play with it. As a friend we can only support them and as long as they are happy.

Reporter: Toby you have been rumored with Michael Miu, Ron Ng and Eric Li. how do you feel?

T: Michael Miu is like my uncle. I don't a see problem holding hands with your uncle. But people will gossip about it and I will avoid doing that now. As for Ron Ng, I find it strange. He is just like an older brother to me. But we will definitely not date each other. I wanted to get to know Eric Li because he is very cute. He always plays the bad guy in TV series but in real life I wonder why he is so nice?

Reporter: Since you admire him (Eric Li) that much does that mean you will have a chance to date?

T: Ha? I enjoy acting and I will observe both guys and girls. I think every girl wants to find their prince. But this requires a lot of time. The person that understands me probably works in the entertainment field but I will not think about it unless it happens naturally. You might think I am tomboyish but I am someone who can become extremely gentle in love.

N: In the past I didn't know how to handle relationships. Perhaps it's because no one took care of me when I was a child so I would enjoy losing my temper. I upset many guys even in the street. I am much better at handling relationships now, I have learned to be patient and forgiving. I look forward to having my own family in the future.

Friendships - Natalie is grateful for Toby's support

T: Everyone knows my Daddy works for TVB. (TVB Producer Tommy Leung Ka Shu). Many people feel that I used my parents to get into the industry. But actually I started off as a singer. I am always being criticized and my family feel the pain. But as you get older you find that you cannot moan about it anymore. I was the one that chose this path. The audience will not look at the process they will only see the result. I only hope that everyone will slowly accept me. I don't need people to say [Wow! Your so great!]. Neither do I need to be the main female lead. I just enjoy acting and want people to see me improve. To give me a chance.

N: I was raised in an incomplete family. Since childhood my parents separated for work. During elementary school I started to go to school myself. I would eat dinner with my brother every day. Many things would be resolved by myself. I would stay at home all the time and got used to being alone. I even went to Lai Chi Kok amusement park myself.

T: I have also been through hard times. It's not like I haven't had to work since a child. I have worked in Sham Sui Po printing paper boxes, teaching people to swim, teaching English, making bubble tea, cleaning etc. I have done quite a lot of jobs.

Making friends depends on fate

N: I haven't had that much work experience. While I was studying in secondary school someone approached me to be a model. At the time things were okay moneywise and my mom didn't give me any pressure. She only told me that in a working environment it doesn't mean you have to make friends there. That's why meeting Toby is fate.

T: I don't need many friends. I only have 3 friends that I have maintained close contact with in the industry. They are Angela Tong, Van Jai (Vangie Tang) and Natalie Tong. Not sure whether it's because Natalie is very skinny, that's why I really have the urge to protect her. Also, we aren't that smart so we get along well.

N: Perhaps, because our backgrounds are different. She is very optimistic. But I am more negative, I will always look at things negatively.

T: Earlier Natalie's mom passed away. I directly took a flight from ShenZhen to spend time with her. Although I couldn't do much to help, as a friend I will certainly be there to support her.

N: To be honest in the past I felt making friends in the industry was really hard. Although everyone would see each other night and day for 3 months. Afterwards the whole cast would move on to another series and other jobs. The feeling would be cold and you would be waiting to see who would make the next move. Toby accompanied me for 2 days during my mom's funeral. I am very grateful. She has experienced unhappy times too.

Reporter: Toby has been busy filming in Shenzhen recently but took time out to meet up with good friend Natalie. Originally they planned to go shopping together, but Toby was followed by the paparazzi's the whole day. Natalie comforted her and said "It's Okay, they are following you because you have reporting value. Afterwards I will go shopping with you".

Claire Yiu's Story Of Becoming A Mother

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Before Claire Yiu got pregnant she chatted with Roger Kwok and Raymond Cho about the happiness of being a parent. This encouraged her and she decided to have children. Claire and her husband Thomas Lam had an agreement in preparation for their child and they needed to have 3 elements "Ready". That both of them were happy, healthy and had enough funds to support the child. In the end she successfully became pregnant with her first child.

Claire experienced 10 months of pregancy, feeling the pain and the happiness. She could feel her baby kicking her and her heartbeat. From the moment she gave birth she couldn't hold back the emotional tears of happiness.

In 2006, Claire and Thomas got married after dating for 7 years. The couple have always wanted to have children. While filming "The Threshold of a Persona" Roger Kwok and Raymond Cho discussed the joy of being a parent. She said "When we weren't filming they would share parenting tips with each other. Although I wasn't a parent at the time I would sit beside them to listen. They would rush me to have children because they knew I wanted to to become a mother. They said when I have a baby I will experience the joy of being a parent which gave me the urge to get pregnant".

After 2 months the shooting for the series was complete. Claire was excited as she successfully got pregnant. She immediately shared the good news with her 2 good colleagues". During 10 months of pregnancy Claire experienced body changes daily. She even took photos of herself for collective memories. The warmest moment for Claire was feeling her baby's first kick and that feeling was hard to describe.

"When I was giving birth my husband Thomas accompanied me in the delivery room. He also took a camcorder to film the moment of history. I remember after giving birth my mind was totally blank. When I saw our baby I didn't know how to react. I only stared at her until the moment she started to cry and her hands were moving. Only then did I start to wake up and gradually cry tears of joy. I finally had my own daughter and became someone's mother".

Miss Asia

Claire was raised in a well off family and is the only child. Her father is Yiu Yeung Lung a Hong Kong Police Commandant. Her mother is a sports coach. When Claire was 7 years old her parents divorced. "Perhaps because my mom was a sports coach she taught me like I was one of her students. Since I was a child she taught me to be brave. Other girls would be learning the piano and drawing, whereas I would be playing basketball, swimming and playing sports. She wanted me to become independent so that I could take care of myself. In 1998 she encouraged me to join Miss Asia Pageant. She said I could learn many things and it could help me become independent".

"I remember my mom drove me to the first interview but I didn't want to audition. Then my mom said I was a coward. I told her I would go for the first interview but to not force me to go to the second one. I just wanted her to know I wasn't a coward. Afterwards, aTV contacted me to go to the second interview but I didn't go. I was considering to return to America to study. But after a few days aTV called me again and asked me why I didn't turn up. They insisted there wouldn't be any reporters around because I was afraid they would capture pictures and even give me nicknames. After thinking about it overnight I decided to attend the interview and treat it as as a learning process. In the end I was placed and awarded 2nd runner up.

While being in aTV Claire had filmed 2 TV series. (海瑞鬥嚴嵩) and (廣東十虎). She mainly hosted travel shows and started to enjoy being a entertainer. But due to average viewer ratings she felt disappointed. "I was in aTV for 2 years. Actually I felt I wasted a lot of efforts. It seemed like not many people watched what we filmed". After her contract with aTV ended she planned to return for her studies in America. But one telephone call gave her the chance to continue her entertainment career. "TVB artistes department called me and asked if I was interested in developing my career. Wah! I was so happy at that moment. It's a big channel afterall that's why I decided to sign with them".

Since signing up with TVB Claire's popularity has increased. Despite not reaching Fa Dan status many series she is associated with have had high viewer ratings.

Enjoyed working with "Hei Hei"

Claire stated that she really likes children and gets along well with them. While filming "The Threshold of a Persona" she got on really well with Tam Tsang Yat who plays her son "Hei Hei". "The first day we started filming I prepared a bag of sweets. But my son (Tam Tsang Yat) was really smart and well behaved. He approached me and asked [Can I take a photo with you?]. His acting is very good and he could cry easily. Everyone in the crew totally adored him".

Miriam Yeung's identity gets exposed on Facebook

Monday, July 06, 2009 Posted by Admin 0 comments
Yesterday Miriam Yeung attended the "TVBBuddy Alumni Association" at Tuen Mun Town Plaza. She said: "Nowadays, kids go online more than they play with toys. In the past, I do play with Facebook too, but then when I was discovered by the public, I stopped. Half a year ago, someone impersonated me online and started deep chats with my friends, my friends thought it was real. After I found out, I made more than 100 phone calls trying to explain to my each of my friends that, the person who told them stuff about me was lying and it is not me. After that no one else tried to pretend to be me online. (Did you find the person?) I couldn't, I think its Fans that did it, but he or she meant no harm."

Raymond Lam autograph session, no plans for a "hugging session"

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Yesterday Raymond Lam held an autograph session at Telford Plaza, attracting more than 500 Fans and onlookers. Raymond said: "I just finished filming a Mainland series, now I can have more time to be in Hong Kong to promote for my new album (Let's Get Wet). Before I really didn't have any time to do any promotions, only Fans knew that I released an album, some friends didn't even know I released my third album." Is Raymond afraid that it may affect the sales? "Nope, I know the current batch of albums are selling well, I already ordered 100-200 more copies and I still didn't get them yet." Raymond laughed and said that the autograph session only contains autographs and hand-shaking, a "hugging session" is not included. It's because he wants more Fans to get his autograph and is not because he doesn't want people to touch him.

Speaking of when Jason Chan was singing on stage at a shopping mall, there was a physiological response by someone. Towards this incident, Raymond felt shocked, he said: "Why would something like that happen?" When Raymond was singing just now, what kind of responses were there? "I didn't hear about such thing yet, I don't know how to answer. When I'm singing, I'm usually really into the lyrics."

Steven Ma celebrated Canada Day in Toronto

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Steven Ma attended the "Annual Chin Picnic National Day Carnival" as a special guest at the Canadian National Exhibition on 1st July. The local TV station has been showing Steven's "A Journey Called Life" at the moment. The day before, Steven had a press conference and an autograph session, and the local fans followed him from there to the exhibition center. When Steven arrived at the exhibition center, a lot of people were there to greet him. The audience were trying to shake hand with him that they were pushing at each other. Although it was a chaotic scene, Steven was very excited for the hospitality he received.

Apart from two TV series theme songs that he performed, he also sang the Cantonese Classic opera "Princess Chang Ping"(帝女花之香夭) with Yip Tse Ching, daughter of Louise Lee. Although Steven was absolutely soaked with his sweat while he was singing, he was very touched to see the warmth that the audience gave him. After the event, he was invited to have a game of badminton as well as tasting the local cuisine with Tse Ching and friends. Steven told reporter "I am much happier spending Canada Day in Toronto than Chinese New Year in Hong Kong. This is because I am able to watch the firework as well as buying and lighting my own firework."

The 3 Stars in Steven Ma's Perspective

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Steven Ma is TVB's "own child". It all started in 1993 when he first entered the entertainment industry. It is obvious that he was a TVB contracted artiste. TVB gives him chances in every series he films. Sixteen years, each step and each footprint is not easy to obtain the position of being male lead. From 2005 and on, TVB became Steven's manager. TVB raised Steven, and this "own child" is still receiving strict training from TVB. TVB can definitely "promote talented people" as representative characters.

"If you say I have improved in my acting, then I really have to thank Catherine Tsang. All of these years, she would point out my flaws and criticize them. I respect her very much. Every time I see her is like a student seeing a teacher. It is respect that comes from the heart." No one can calculate the future, but Steven expresses his aspiration honestly, "When I look back and think of my TVB friends and colleagues, Catherine will definitely be my most missed elder benefactor. Also, I'm very thankful to Lee Tim Sing. On my acting journey, he is my teacher."

好艷福 Does Not Mind Assisting Newbies

In recent years, TVB has been confident in Steven's "in house" image. The series that he has been male leads in have received positive feedback and stable rating points. Lee Tim Sing insisted in using Steven to be the male lead and Tavia Yeung to be the female lead. All of the other candidates are not as experienced actors.

TVB's three promoted fa dans Tavia Yeung, Linda Chung, and Fala Chen have taken turns in being Steven's partner in series.

"All of my colleagues laugh at me saying I'm lucky because I get to pair up with pretty girls in every series!" He's so lucky; no wonder Steven does not mind being referred to "assisting newbies". "If the company thinks that I have this ability, then I feel really honoured."

Tavia Yeung Using Ten Years to Become a Polished Diamond

When talking to Steven about his "fate" with Tavia, Linda and Fala, he finds it very weird. "The love story I have with Tavia is usually full of troubled twists and turns. And Linda is always my wife. Fala has played my little sister in a couple of series. That is why she calls me "older brother" so easily."

Steven sees the three beautiful fa dans as "TVB's Three Gems". "The three of them have their own characteristics. Tavia's acting is mature and her outer appearance is good. She is very hard working and very 捱得. She loves the characters that she plays, and she gets into her character's emotion very easily.

Lee Kwok Lun has also praised Steven and Tavia's acting has fire. Steven and Tavia's acting has made Lee Kwok Lun's acting easier to get into character. "That is true! Tavia is already glowing. After ten years in the making, she is becoming a diamond."

Linda Chung's Chaste and Grace has Never Changed

Linda worked with Steven when she first entered TVB. The Linda back then was simple and naive. In the days of working together, Steven is able to talk heart to heart to Linda. He also encourages her and gives her pointers on how to improve in her acting. Steven also tells Linda not be submerged by the fame and fortune. "A few years later, I again worked with her in a few series, such as, "A Journey called Life", "Pu Song Ling" etc. I think she is the same as before. Her chaste and grace comes from inside. She has never changed, but her Chinese has improved. She has great performing potential and she has many talents still to be discovered." In Steven's eyes, Linda is strong, friendly, and insistent. She is not what the audience sees her as just a little girl. "Her thinking is very simple, it's just that her work load is too heavy lately and it affects her health. If her work schedule is arranged a bit better and that she rests a bit more, her performance can be better."

Fala Chen the Beautiful, Clever, and Loves to Act

Fala has a pair of big dark eyes. When her eyes move, her innermost feelings are revealed. "For an actor, window of the soul can definitely captivate the audience. This is Fala's winning trait. Also, she is very straight forward and she will not hide her thoughts."

Every person has their own personality and people who are familiar with Steven will know that he is a typical Chaozhou man whose speech is gruff and direct. Sometimes, his speech can instantly hurt a friendship if one cannot bear it.

Did Steven scare the three beauties when working with them? "The three of them and I get along very happily. They are willing to communicate honestly with me when filming together. If opinions arise, then they are directly expressed because they trust me. They believe that the opinions I raise are not aiming directly at them, but it is good for them. And they do accept this type of method of expressing opinions."

Not Being Selfish When Acting and Learning the Term "Good for Everybody"

Steven admits that learning how to communicate with his partners well is all thanks to the pointers from the veteran actors. "Kent Cheng, Wayne Lai, Ram Tseung, Lee Kwok Lun, Kara Hui, etc. have all taught me before. Other than acting, they also taught me that acting cannot be selfish, and I cannot just think about myself and always thinking about defeating my opponent. But, it has to be good for everybody.

With the concept of "Good for Everybody", Steven cherishes every scene with his partners. "Actually, I am still studying the art of acting. I still hope for veterans to teach and assist me. So, working with the three fa dans should be called "working together" and not "assisting newbies". But, seeing hard work and improvements, I can definitely say they will have great achievements in the future. And I am not lying about it."

Kelly Chen refuses to show her big belly pregnant woman look

Posted by Admin 0 comments
To protect Kelly Chan's "beautiful girl" icon, starting next month, she will be refusing to take photos of her growing belly. Yesterday she was in Central to go see her doctor, wearing a cap, loose shirt with her hair down, she used her big handbag to cover up her tummy. Kelly even "played" hide and seek with the Media for half and hour to avoid being photographed. But when she bumped into the cameras, she was still generous and said that she plans to announce it to the world once she gives birth to her baby.

Kelly is currently five months pregnant and has just finished attending public events and completed her skincare ads, she is officially taking her maternity leave. Kelly who has placed beauty as her priority, plans to refuse all pictures taken of her of her belly look, which could ruin her many years known image of being a beautiful woman.

That day when Kelly went to see her doctor, she discovered that there were reporters following her. She immediately took her big handbag to cover her belly and also had one eye opened as she walked. When she bumped into the Media, she said: "Don't take pictures of me la." Even if Reporters shouted Kelly's picture is really pretty, she would only reject with a smile: "How can a pregnant woman be pretty!" Soon, her manager accompanied her to leave the location.

It has been said that during the time Kelly had been pregnant she had been keeping it low key to avoid pictures being taken. She completely rejects having the "fat girl gone ugly" look, therefore she does not want to expose herself. Anything that is related to her, only her doctor and husband Alex Lau knows. There is absolutely no information leaked to a third party. Kelly also requested the hospital to keep everything secret, but she plans to announce everything to the public once her baby is born, she will let the Media know first thing once she becomes a Mother. Kelly plans to have her baby naturally and will be breastfeeding her newborn. Also, Alex has brought a new video camera to capture all the good memories of Kelly entering the labor room, he wants to take down the images of his baby born.

It's game over for Joyce Tang & Derek Kwok

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Joyce Tang really encounters many setbacks in her love life, earlier she ended her 9 year relationship with Marco Ngai, and the other day she wrote on her blog that she just lost another love again! Because she has been constantly rumored with Derek Kwok, many people automatically believed that the boyfriend she mentioned is Derek. But the couple had never admitted that they were together, Joyce won't reveal who "he" is? Derek also stresses that the boyfriend mentioned is not him, he only admitted that he and Joyce are good friends. Apparently the boyfriend mentioned publicly announced that he had a new girlfriend and is planning to get marry!

Although Joyce had been experiencing bad luck with love, but she does not give up. She will wait until her Mr. Right comes along. When speaking of her world with Mr. Right, there is no betrayal or lies. Towards all the unhappy incidents that happened on her, she said: "The strength from friends' love helps me to stay strong and also with a clear conscience. Whatever heaven and earth arranges for me, I will face it postively. Not admitting wrong, making more promises over lies will just result in a bad ending."

Asked Joyce if the break up was with Derek Kwok? She said that she will not reveal who the boyfriend she broke with is! She said that she has never dated Derek and it is not him, it is a boyfriend not from the entertainment industry. She said that it is a pity that she lost the relationship, there is no explanation to a break up, maybe its because their fate did not meet at the right time. She just blames herself for not having enough good character traits. She had once cried before because of a break up, now she is better. Hopefully in the future she will be able to find her true Mr. Right. Asked if the break up with a peaceful one? She said that she personally does not like to fight, they are still friends.

Derek Kwok: Joyce is not talking about me

Towards Joyce's break up with her boyfriend, he said that the person is not him and "I don't know anything!"

In the blog, Joyce wrote: "Today my relationship world has cleared out becoming an empty white page. I am still waiting for "him" to appear! After going through so much pain, I still have many happy memories. My view on relationships still has not changed. I don't care what kind of person "he" is, I agree to sacarfice whatever for him, I hope to be in a world with him with no betrayal or lies. I only want trust and to share love memories together. I just want to be together with him until old!"

TVB & CRHK promotion event

Posted by Admin 0 comments
TVB and CRHK collaborated in a programme to search for talents. Miriam, Steven Chan and Sammy Leung attended a promotion event. Steven and Sammy kept asking Miriam why her face had become thinner suddenly and Steven asked her "don't pretend to get married". Miriam replied, "It's not my choice. I didn't accept this script all along." She rather being said injected Botox to trim her face than to be said she can't get married because it affects Yeung family's reputation.

The three had to perform a sketch on stage. Miriam and Steven played husband and wife. Miriam kept picking dialogues of Steven beating her and Sammy requested Miriam to kiss Steven.

Some magazines wrote that their wedding has been called off because Real Ting backed out. Miriam said calmly, "Written till this stage? People have their own creative freedom, can't kill it. Not bad?! I like this magazine, it has been loyal to me for so many years." Sammy said he doesn't hope Miriam to get married so that she won't retire. Miriam said she will definitely not retire because she really likes to work and thinks marrying into a rich family is stressful so she's not envious of Isabella Leung. She said, "Everyone thinks differently and has different needs. I don't like to be not working." As for being "forced" to kiss Steven Chan on stage, she expressed, "He's high management so I respect him, therefore it was embarrassing just now. But he has good acting talent."

Steven Ma @ Mak Ling Ling Interview

Posted by Admin 0 comments
M = Mak Ling Ling
S = Steven Ma

Miss Catherine Tsang the Most

M: In the past, you were not under TVB management and not a son of TVB, but you still filmed a lot of series. According to what has be heard is that Catherine Tsang supports you. Is she very nice to you? (Does she favour you?)
S: I've signed TVB management for 4 years now! Everyone supports me. Mr. Chan (Stephen Chan) also supports me! Well, Catherine told me to film my first series. At that time, I've released three albums, and the third one was not selling. I've thought about retiring, but if it wasn't for Catherine in telling me to film series, there is a possibility that I'm not even in this business anymore.

M: Out of all the TVB executives, are you in best terms with Catherine?
S: Definitely! If some day that I don't work for TVB anymore, the one I would miss the most is Catherine. She is the one who have taught me and made me what I am today. After so many years of filming series, she yelled at me for so many years. Every time she will point out my flaws. She'll say, "What is with your expression? What are your lips doing?" Actually, to me, this is a good thing. I remember the only praise I got from her was in "A Journey Called Life". It was the scene where Fala Chen died. She phoned me and said, "Wow, real tears. You did well!" It is very difficult to receive her "You did well." It is almost every time that I see her that she'll give me pointers. My biggest problem is my lips because I was a "chipped-tooth" kid when I was young. I've gotten used to speaking with my lips sticking out. When I got that tooth replaced later, I still needed time to change that habit.

M = Do have supper with Catherine on a regular basis? Are you afraid that others might call you "shoe shiner"?
S = Occasionally I do, but I'm not afraid of what others call me. She is my teacher! (What about Stephen Chan?) On the other hand, I don't have suppers with Stephen, but rather we eat at TVB suppers. (What about Virginia Lok?) I've had supper with Miss Lok. There are times where we'll meet and talk about contract terms. Most importantly is that I film with heart, so I don't have to depend on these.

M: The feeling you give others is that you're very polite, very well-mannered, and a goodie guy. And the feeling is also a bit out-dated. You are always in the news for injuring yourself, and you don't have any rumours. The feeling you give others is very boring. What are you going to do?
S: You are correct. Many reporters tell me, "You are very boring!" But my close friends know how I am. My biggest interests are playing badminton, playing ping pong, taking pictures, surfing the web, reading books, writing, and drinking red wine.
M: Which is boring! Were you like this when you were young?
S: Before entering the business, I used to sell Chinese teaching books and industrial chemicals. To be exact, I've only had two other jobs.
M: Your lifestyle is rather boring; do you have any interesting childhood stories?
S: I don't find it boring. Because work wise, I still need to meet many people. From form 3, I started to sell ice cream at Tsim Sha Tsui. I remember Sheila Chan and Michelle Reis once bought ice cream from me. Wow! Sheila voice was very loud. She told me to add this and add that. I even said to them, "I recognize you guys. You two are Miss HKs!" At the time, I thought the two of them were very pretty. Michelle was very polite and Sheila's voice was very loud.

Loving Ada Choi

M: How many friends do you have in the industry?
S: I have many! Tavia Yeung (the people I've interviewed before are very good friends with Tavia Yeung!) Is she that popular? Maybe I should remove her. Ha ha! There's also Joyce Koi. We are very good friends. There is also Linda Chung, Kwok Fung, and Lam King Kong!
M: When you're filming, are you very serious and don't play with others?
S: No, I can play very crazily! But when I say "crazy" you may think it is very boring. Ha ha! I joke around with people. I'm a rather slow interactive type of person. I would only interact with the ones I feel that can be associate. If we are not associate, I will not force it. If were not happy, we won't see each other next time, and if were happy, we will naturally see each other again!
M: Are you a person that differentiates love and hate?
S: Yes. I don't want to deliberately say something to please others. Life it too short for these things. If we can be friends, then I'll make friends with them. Many people make the mistake by thinking that I'm very polite and I'm easily picked-on by others. But they are actually very wrong. It is my principles that make me have a good temperament.
M: Have you ever squeal with others?
S: I will not squeal, but I will argue. Luckily, I do not swear, but when I'm scary when I get mad. Others will become silent. I speak loudly, so it is scary when I yell at others.
M: That is why there were reports saying you are troublesome and you at odds with Sonija Kwok.
S: That was a long time ago, so I don't remember law. She will be my new partner in my other series. We just went to Malaysia recently for promotional events. We were very happy.
M: Do you find yourself to be troublesome?
S: I don't find it. My principles will not be changed under any circumstances. My principles are being punctual, know your script, and don't play when filming. If these principles can be vacillated, then their/I'm not qualified to be an actor. I've yelled at people for doing these, and they will of course not like me. I don't need the entire world to like me, and for me to give up on my principles for the entire world is vain.
M: Have you ever fell in love with your partner?
S: When filming, yes. During the time when filming "Where the Legend Begins", Ada Choi absolutely made me feel the startled by a beauty feeling. During the filming process, I believed that I fell in love with that person. And personally, I admire her very much.
M: Did you ever take action and pursued her?
S: No, and then I filmed a different series quickly after that. My personality is most compatible with someone who is not from this industry. Although it may be difficult to control sometimes, but standing from my perspective, I think different sector groups would be better. I don't want my work life brought into my personal life. That is why I don't talk about the entertainment business with my family.

Exposed that he is not dating anymore

M: How many times have you dated?
S: (Dead air for 10 seconds as he counts) Four times the most. Three times. There is one that doesn't really count because the time was too short.
M: Any from the industry?
S: No, they are all from outside of the industry.
M: There were rumours about you being gay with your previous manager, Frankie Fan Chi Wing. Was that true?
S: Obviously not! I don't want to explain that much. I have dated my previous girlfriend for six years and all of my friends know it. And reporters even took pictures of us going on a vacation together.
M: Is it because you cover up your dating so well that people have this misunderstanding?
S: To be honest, I've never mind of my love life being exposed to the public, but there are a lot of people that don't know.
M: Are you dating now?
S: Just broke up in the beginning of the year.
M: Is it the one that Eunice Lam Yin Nei mentioned in her column? (red wine business woman girlfriend Vivian Hui Wei Ling for six years)
S: Yes, 我俾佢激死, I told her this in our conversations, and she wrote it out.
M: Didn't you say she (Vivian) was "okay" and you were thinking about getting married?
S: She's "okay" at this moment, I still think she is "okay".
M: If she's "okay", then how come you guys broke up?
S: You can't really explain these things. (Will you reunite?) We are still friends and she is a good girl.
M: What do you do on dates?
S: We stay at home and talk, drink red wine, and we sometimes go out and have dinner.
M: Nothing surprising?
S: I don't like surprises. I can give her happiness and warmth, but it's not romantic. Like Tavia says all the time, "I will not pick you for a boyfriend, but I will pick you for a husband!"
M: What type of girls do you like?
S: Actually, I don't look at the outer appearance. Most importantly is compatibility and as long as we can communicate. I like silence. I can't stand ones being too loud. I like girls who are more mature. I think my future half will definitely be older than myself.
