How a character acts depends on the variety of expressions. Sometimes artistes focusses on what has happened like, something mysterious happens or some lame joke has been told, and neglected the inner side of the artiste. Some directors would call cut until the artistes act faster. Sometimes, the director would tell them to do it so quickly that the artistes don't even know what their saying. The audience would be confused. But the some artistes won't even care. They would start with "ha?" stop, and then continue. All you can hear was "yi yi ngo ngo" (mumbling), and they would still pass. But this again would leave the audiences confused, even bored.

The artiste, their skills and the type of series would have to match in order to create the best acting. In a sitcom, the pace is faster and there would be a variety of genres (or mood) because an artiste would have to bring out the main topic in 30 minutes. You can't be slow, but being too quick would cause the audience to miss the change of an artistes' inner side. Of course, the pace must match the role's personality so the effect would be excellent.

I've been filming "Off Pedder" and met some very experienced artistes. Momo has a variety of ways to express things. When everyone takes notice of how she delivers the lines, you can tell that she changed it in some ways. So that it wouldn't be so plain. For example, after a few lines, she would change the ending of one subject, however only to make it connect with the beginning of another. Her lines are meaningful.

What the artiste is thinking affects the lines. This is a human's language and thoughts. Only a line can show the artistes' characteristics.

TVB’s Rosy Business will take over from King of Snooker next week. Yesterday Wayne Lai, Sharon Tang, Ron Ng and Nancy Wu participated in a “Spring field planting” Function for Rosy Business therefore artists turned up in ancient costumes. Recently Ron has been accused of being Gong Tau (Gong Tau - Oriental black magic )and worms crawling out of his nose but wasn’t troubled by the rumours and thought it was a good joke. At the function he assured reporters that his health was fine.

Yesterday the artists did not only introduce their characters but also used many different ancient equipment. Ron’s rumours of the Gong Tau and the worms didnt affect his good mood and even said “This will help the function then!” Asked if his health had declined? He said “Of course not, I’m very healthy!” (Does your nose have any problems?) It is not good to involve this with the topic, in case next time they might say its cockroaches.” He said that many of his friends called him to ask about it, being quite Batgwa. He said that if this was true, it should have been on the front page of the newspapers but he laughed off these reports and said it would help him with the series promotion. His family also saw the reports and just said it was rubbish. Asked if he believed in this Gong Tau (Gong Tau - Oriental black magic )? He expressed that there are no certainties and that anything can happen in life but he has had no experiences with this but hes read a book and watched a film which has mentioned it.

Asked if reports will affect him? He said “No, so am I going to walk out with something covering my nose? Maybe there might be a surprise, the worm will turn into a moth?” In the report Ella was also dragged into it, asked whether he apologized to her? He said “We never reply to these reports so I don’t have to think about it, it’s a total joke.” Asked if hes recently drank a stranger’s drink? He said that he usually goes to buy it himself. He said “The reports are a total joke, I don’t have to take it to heart.” Sharon was asked about the Nose and worms report, She laughed it off saying “Are you stupid? You’ve got to be kidding, Nose worms?”

Miriam was invited by LensCrafters to be their first spokesperson. Miriam is very excited and went to a branch in Causeway Bay for the new season advertisement shoot. The day before the shoot, Miriam had just finished her concert in Malaysia but she was very energetic during the shoot and very professional. They estimated to shoot for 10 hours but finished in just 5 hours. During the last shot, the optometrists checked Miriam's eyes and she didn't even blink. Yesterday, Tavia Yeung, Charmaine Sheh and Selena Lee were filming outdoor scene for TVB new ancient series, Beyond The Realm Of Conscience. During the filming progress, Tavia Yeung sometimes would scream and said that her hair decorations were very heavy. Accordingly, her hair decorations weighted about 4 kg. Tavia Yeung expressed, “The most suffering part in this series is the over-weighted hair decorations. Now my head is swollen and every night I have to place ointment on it.”

As for Selena Lee who was wearing costumes for pregnant mother, expressed that although she had to put fake chest and fake stomach, but the most suffering part was also to wear big hair decorations. Yesterday, Sammul Chan attended an opening ceremony for a Tourism company. He said that every year he would take some time off for vacations with his family. Japan is his most favorite places to go to. Tomorrow, it will be Jill Vidal's trial for drug possession, Sammul frankly said that Jill should learn a lesson from this incident.

Raymond Lam’s new song (If Time Comes) has made to the charts, allow me to share a brief history behind this song.

This is the fourth song that Tang Chi Wai and I have written for Raymond.

Initially when I have submitted my first draft, the producer having read through the lyrics, hoped that I could refine the lyrics to make it better. At that moment, I was under pressure and also overwhelmed with fear of failing. (The same thing happened to me when we were working on “Moonlight Resonance” theme song).

Nevertheless, little did I realise that the more I wanted to make it better, the worst it turned out to be. I know this is an important song and I truly felt remorse. As time is running out on me and recording has to be completed, I proposed to use the original lyrics, because I personally like the original lyrics, and it was also a work that I put all my heart and effort into writing.

After recording, miracle prevails over my fear, overnight, I have a total change of perception about the song (from OK) to (BEING FOND OF). This is a breakthrough that I have never expected. Raymond's performance deserves the credit. There are people who regard him as an actor, and do not accept him as a singer. But I believe that one should learn to look at things from different perspectives.

It is because of him being an actor, even though his voice is not perfect, the feelings he portrays when he sings unexplainably brings one into the song, he has a uniquely addictive voice. Cecilia Chung and Zhou Xun are good examples.

Because of this song, Chi Wai and I were very anxious about the outcome. And this is also the first time I heard Chi Wai was angry over some unreasonable comments on the internet about this song. There are people who critisized that they do not understand the meaning of the lyrics.
