Myolie Wu - Though Alone For X'mas, Her Heart Is Not Cold

Christmas is approaching and the weather is getting cold. Everyone is wearing their jackets and coats to keep warm, but Myolie Wu went against the weather and wore an outfit which bared her shoulders to congratulate the release of her new music album. Earlier on, Myolie attended the Christmas lighting ceremony cum new album promotional event at a shopping mall. She sang the new duet, Break Off, with Chilam whom was present at the function too. Seeing Chilam in a thick and furry jacket, Myolie, on the other hand, appeared in a low-cut outfit. Wasn't she afraid of the cold? With her new album accompanying her, no matter how cold it was, she also felt warmth at heart lah!

A Chip Off The Old Block - Shrewd and Smart Ron Ng Fiercely Competes with Con-artist Myolie Wu

The reason behind the creation of an onscreen couple is that the audience are in favor of this male and female artistes being paired up as a couple. Thus for every drama, they'll be found to be partnered up together, and the audience will not complain! However, there are exceptions. Just like Ron Ng - basically there aren't many female artistes whom look compatible with him. Because of this reason, for every drama that he films, he is able to change a new partner each time. As for Myolie Wu, though she has acted as a couple with Ron before, it still feels as if both of them have never gotten the chemistry before; Adding on that the entire world already pairs her up with Bosco Wong as a couple, thus for this new drama, A Chip Off The Old Block, other than Ron and Myolie not having to be paired up, they will even be fighting against each other! Being mediocre in doing bitter expressions, Myolie Wu can carve out her own path anytime through going down the comedic route! This time in the new drama, Myolie transformed into a love con-artist. She learnt all the tricks of getting into men's good books and then conning away their money to maintain her livelihood. The truth was that Myolie's character, So Fung Nei, was born in a family which favored males over females and forced her to marry into a wealthy family. Thus she decided to leave home, and brought along her younger sister. She learnt all the tricks and skills from another female con-artist, and helped herself to earn a living. During the process, she met the kind-hearted Chor Fun. She often made use of him, and Chor Ci did not like it, thus he stood up for his father and caused many jokes! Later on, Fung Nei unconsciously fell in love with Chor Fun, and coincidentally at this point of time, Leung Pin Pin (Nancy Wu) appeared beside Chor Fun. It caused Fung Nei to decide to leave for a faraway place!

In order to portray out the love con-artist character, Myolie often had to appear in different costumes and images. For example, there is the seductive housemaid, pretty nurse, female star, a rich young mistress etc. With so many costumes and images, she's definitely the champion for this drama!

Re-adaption Series!?

Actually the storyline resembles the movie, He Ain't Heavy He's My Father, by Tony Leung Kar Fai and Tony Leung Chiu Wai 'n' years ago! Similarly, the movie used the 1960s of Hong Kong as its background. It also similarly portrayed on how the male lead traveled back in time from the modern era to the old times, and witnessed his father's 'All for one, One for all' spirit and his love story. As for whether this drama can arouse a resonance among the audience, we must first really watch the drama lah!
