The 18th Hong Kong Drama Presentation Awards Ceremony was held in the Hong Kong City Hall the other night. Special guests included Fiona Sit, Chet Lam, Ella Koon, Angela Tong, Eric Suen, Hins Cheung, Leila Tong, Idy Chan, Paul Chun and Lau Siu Ming etc.Although Fiona was not nominated for the musical "Last Smile, First Tear", she and Joey Leung played last year, her colleague in the same musical was nominated and she is very happy for her. Speaking about the "Swine Flu", Fiona said she will be going to America to work in the near future. Her mother reminded her to be very careful. Fiona said she would be prepared with masks, disinfectant paper tissues and Plenty of Vitamin C tablets. There is only one person she is worried about and that is her grandmother who lives in Vancouver. Since she lives in a nursing home, and has limited mobility, there is little chance of her going out to crowded places to catch the infection.
Angela Tong appeared in a play "Watcher" recently, she revealed that she is very interested to perform in theatre. She was very impressed with Simon Lo, who directed and also acted in the play. Angela saw how hard he had worked and she really appreciated the chance to perform in the play. She stressed that from now on, she will not give out any concessionary theatre tickets. Instead, she would ask her friends to buy their own. Angela also disclosed that she didn't ask Chin Ka Lok to come and support her because she was worried that she would be very nervous when she saw him in the audience. However, she did invite her friends Timmy Hung and Margaret Chung to support her at the last performance.
Hin is planning for a comedy musical next year. Eric Suen was interested to be involved in this play, but the company rejected Hin's offer because the fee is not satisfactory and also time consuming. Hins said he hasn't contacted Kelvin Kwan, who was involved in a drug charges with Jill Vidal, for a while. He is hoping they can get together to have dinner in the near future. He knows Kelvin has been busy writing songs and reckoned sooner or later, Kelvin could be a better song writer than him. Speaking about Kelvin having constant contact with Jill through the webcam, Hins asked people not to speculate. In fact, Kelvin is staying at home to punish himself. Eric expressed that he doesn't need to stay at home as a punishment, there are other ways too. He didn't know if Kelvin had cried or not, but he believes when you are in trouble, you soon find out how who your real friends are. He respects both of them and hopes things will get forgotten in time.
