Myolie Wu is portraying a con-artist in the new drama, His True Father, thus she often had to disguise as many different characters. In order to match the series' time-frame of the 1950s to 1960s, her make-up and hairdo are almost the same as the popular star, Patricia Lam Fung, back then. Myolie said, "I do like the make-up and hairstyles during that period of time, especially the exaggerating make-up around the eyes. Not long ago, I found an experienced make-up artist to do this make-up on me, and this make-up artist had gone through that period before, thus he/she especially understood the essence of this kind of make-up." Therefore, the image and style of Myolie in this new drama are especially life-like.

Experience Makes It Easy

In the past, Myolie Wu had acted in dramas of the 1950s, 1960s before - Scavenger's Paradise. So she is more confident of portraying the character this time round. She said, "When I was filming Scavenger's Paradise, I did some research on the Cantonese operas to learn more about the way they speak back then. With prior experience from the previous drama, acting it again this time round is much easier."
