Recently, things have not been smooth for Myolie. Her main role in "When a dog loves a cat" has been criticized and this year, she doesn't stand a chance in the Best Actress award category too. Next month, her solo album will be released and Myolie has never thought of winning any award in the end of the year. She really hope that everyone will accept her image as a singer and support her.

Myolie will be release her solo album next month. Actually, all along, she did mention to TVB that she hopes to release an album and with the right timing and situation, her dream came through. She said: "I love singing, and i did mention to the company. After that, there is a recording company who is interested to sign me on. I am really happy because my dream came true. what i hope most is that everyone can accept me as a singer."

When Myolie was 16 years old and schooling in England, she did join singing competition. One can see her passion for singing, that year, she impersonate Sammi Cheng's style, and sang 《 爱 的 挽 歌 》 for the competition. In the end, she won an award. After joining the entertainment industry for 8 years, she finally has the chance to express her talent in the singing industry. With regards to a late chance, she said that she will grab hold of the opportunity well. Myolie who is 28 years old this year, said: "I really don't feel that it is too late to be a singer, who said one need to be 10 plus to be a singer and i don't feel that i'm that old."

Every end of the year,many stars will hope to become Best actor or best actress, and for many newcomers, they hope to win Best newscomer award. Myolie was asked if she sees Linda Chung as a competitor since both of them just entered the music industry together. Myolie said: "Why do one needs to win a prize for everything done? I have never thought of winning a prize. I have heard Linda's song and she sang very well. Recently, there are many artistes producing solo album and i feel very happy for them too, this proves that the TV industry has many people who can sing."

Myolie was also asked if she will invite rumoured boyfriend, Bosco to be the main actor for her MV. She said: "never thought that there will be such a need, filming an MV does not necessary need a main actor, singing is quite a solo thing."

Myolie Wu was accepting an interview a radio station and also promoting her new song, 'Single Holiday'. She revealed that she would be releasing her new album in November. She mentioned that she's busy recording her songs now, and joked that becoming a singer means being busy often and having to go around for promotions, and adding on that her new drama is about to start filming soon, she had to spend time practising her martial arts moves.

There was a report which pointed out that she turned to taking on the music industry after having been dropped out of the race for the Best Actress Award. Myolie immediately stated, "That's not the case. Doing both (acting and singing) together. It doesn't mean that having no part in one of them means having to give up. Will continue to do my job, plus I still have a long contract with the company."

Q) "Being arranged to stand in the third row during the lighting ceremony, were you unhappy?".

Ada Choi and Cheng See Wan (鄭詩韻) were guests of honor to present the award for the " Easy life Wedding 2008" (新婚生活易大賞2008) yesterday.

Ada has been busy lately having just attended another function. Speaking about having babies, Ada told reporters "My figure is very good at the moment. I don't want to spoil it. Maybe in two years time, I will consider it. We are very happy just the two of us and we don't want an extra person at the moment. We are putting all our energy to invest in our career and our love life."

During the final episode of Moonlight Resonance on 21st September, Ms Lok was on the same dinning table as the main actors and actresses. Before dinner actually started, Ms Lok sudddenly raised her glass and said “Ah Yuet(Tavia), for your beautiful crying scenes! Cheers!”

This stated two points. 1. Ms Lok doesn’t only favour Kevin Cheng. 2. Tavia stood out from the crowd of Linda, Kate and Fala within the same series.

Only a year ago, same venue, also for HOG’s final episode, Tavia was also amongst the crowd. Yet she seemed so distant from the whole situation. “I actually got quite impatient. I envied others and wished that the light would shine on me too.”

Distant

This is an age of criticism. As long as you know how to type Chinese then you can criticize Linda Chung for being dense or Kate Tsui being over the top. Tavia managed to stay away from this. Not just away as in not being commented. “After HOG, I was disappointed, seeing others being commented on, I wanted to be part of it too, be it positive or negative ones. At the end, no one did.”

This is a reflection of Tavia. Good? Not the best. Bad? Not the worst. Forever standing in the middle of it all. “I totally lacked in sense of threat, thinking that I could survive if I just walked along slowly. Never considered the crowd of people who is rushing forward.”

With Linda and Kate’s achievements, Tavia can only envy them. “How come other can achieve so much in such a short period of time? I have no background or support, what can I do to compete against them? I was impatient but had no way out.”

Tavia grew up in a public housing estate in Shatin. Her dad died before she turned two and her mother remarried. Her step dad was a typical Chinese man. Every night after work, he would sit and watch the horse racing and news on ATV. “My sister and I would go down to play in the park, but really, we wanted to watch the drama on TVB”

After she grew up, she didn’t enjoy socializing, or more like, she didn’t know how to. “I didn’t feel inferior, but with my background, there wasn’t much to be talked about. You drink red wine, but I ate on street stalls. I didn’t feel at home when I was amongst a crowd of people.”

Knowing very well that rumours would help her, knowing that some dispute would get her more publicity. Tavia just couldn’t agree to it.

Prize Ceremony Girl!

Her pace was slow, but there is still a path ahead of her. This is pretty rare for a TVB actress.

She is one of the very few successful ones from the TVB training course. “I agree that if you’re from a beauty pageant, at least you will be known to the public immediately. However having come from the training course, you could be a step behind. I have never seen a journalist coming into TVB to interview the trainees.”

At first, Tavia just saw it was a job. During the training period, there was an allowance of $3000 and $6000 after completion. There weren’t many options for a form 5 graduate anyway. Her first turning point came after she carried out the Best actor award which was rewarded to Gallen Lo. The next morning, she received a call praising her. “All the others hated that job, I was the only one who smiled. People actually noticed! This phone call gave me the driving force I needed.”

There, from simply earning a living to getting minor roles, Tavia had set her mind to make her name in the industry. Very soon, she got her chance due to her alikeness to Maggie Cheung Ho Yi in appearance and had to chance to act as Maggie’s younger sister in The Awakening.

“Looking like Maggie helped me at the time, but from then on, I had to clear that idea from everyone’s mind.”

The Dress that Cost over $10000

The real Maggie Cheung reached the top but then fell ill. The fake one couldn’t carry it off. “ This industry is pretty realistic. If you don’t corporate, then no one would write about you. No one writes about you then no one would know about you.” “I was impatient, but there were also a lot of things which I couldn’t accept. To really continue in this business, you really need to convince yourself on many different issues.”

The first step is to wear less. Tavia has never been pretentious. “Everyone likes to see less clothing, then less it is. At least I had to proved that Tavia Yeung had the figure to wear less. Before entering the industry, Tavia didn’t like the idea of girls in swimming costumes being criticized by the public. So is it hard to wear low-cut now? “I did struggle, but it wasn’t hard. The first time I decided to let it go was when I bought a dress for the TVB anniversary. I saw a dress at D-Mop, over $10000, not too much but expensive enough. I went back to see it three days later, looked at myself in the mirror and imagined the effect it might create. I said to myself, this will work.”

Remember Me

Lee Sze Kei said that she sees Tavia as the top pick for the award and since then the paparazzies have been waiting for her 24 hours a day. “I enjoy the spotlight and I treasure it, cos I know I could be forgotten in 2 months’ time. In this industry, being good enough is not sufficient. You have to keep thinking of ways to keep yourself fresh in people’s memory. I want people to remember me, honestly, I don’t want to turn back…”

In the 2 years of cooperation, there had been rumours of them having different opinions in production and their relationship has been bad. For example Leon Lai's 2 concert shows in November had invited Janice, Jill and Michael Huang as guest except for Miriam.

Leon is strict, Lin is relaxed

Miriam said, "I really have nothing against Mr Lai. It's only during the 1st album, we had different opinions in the creativity areas. Both parties need some time to adjust. But when doing the 2nd album, the communication was quite good. I will try my best to respect his suggestions. Therefore the process of producing the 2nd album has been much smoother. I don't understand why people kept saying we are on bad terms."

Miriam didn't forget to defend her bosses, "Actually both principal and director have their own ways of teaching, hard to say which is better, but I've worked with them and know they are helping the students to be good, so I will respect them."

There were rumours that Miriam and Leon Lai are not on good terms because they couldn't share same understanding at early stages of cooperation.

Humans are very insignificant. We all should treasure people around us more!"

Miriam's van was smashed by fallen tree, taught her to treasure people around her.

Getting older, no longer persistent

Miriam reminds people not to live life with regrets. Recently she released a new album with a song called "See You Tomorrow". When recording this song, Miriam had a lot of feelings, she said, "This song's meaning is saying you can't chase things back after you missed it. Hence we shouldn't be too persistent and don't let ourselves regret."

"I remember last year when I sang 'A Girl's Prayer' during concert, although singing had improved, I couldn't get back the teenage girl's feel like I used to, then I was very depressed.
