Moses Chan and Tavia Yeung erupted Autumn in My Heart

Saturday, September 20, 2008 Posted by Admin 0 comments
Ah Kar loves Ah Yuet - Love affair added with comedy spices.

TVB's Heart of Greed 2 a.k.a Moonlight Resonance is approaching the ending this week. The ending storyline has also been publicly known. Michelle Yim's villain role will end up alone, Lee Heung Kam will be the only person who died in the series. As for Moses, he will pass through the difficulties and together with Tavia continues the Autumn in My Heart's sibling love. Today Moses Chan seems to be possessed by Ah Kar, cracking a dry joke: "We are the funny version of Autumn in My Heart, and have more spices, that is, funny spices, so the audiences will feel happier watching." Tavia Yeung said in unison: "Really is as interesting as the Korean drama, but there won't be too much crying."

(Ah Kar) Moses Chan and (Ah Yuet) Tavia Yeung in Moonlight Resonance are not blood-related siblings. The storyline arranges for the two to be together. This is very similar to the Korean drama Autumn in My Heart. Moses Chan said: "This time I want to commend the writer, everything is within their control, wanting to create the fighting feel. To be honest, series on sibling love are quite a lot overseas, but the traditional Chinese are more conservative. I definitely cannot accept myself loving my sister. It can be said that we are the funny version of Autumn in My Heart, but what we have more is the comedy spice, making the audiences watching feel happier."

Unlike Korean Drama's Long-Winded

Tavia Yeung said: "Our feelings are very special. There won't be too much crying. Korean drama is too long-winded. We are just as interesting. In the series, our most intimate encounter is during Ah Kar's last minutes."

Talking about Moonlight Resonance's being the series with most group scenes, some casts will have no lines sometimes. They will only be left with onscreen reactions. It's inevitable that there will be some people who were found to underperform. However, Moses Chan was praised by his co-star Wayne Lai as having given full performance. Moses Chan laughingly said: "The most difficult scene is scene with no scene. I'm very happy that Wayne Lai praised me, especially for putting me as the young generation. But to be fair, group scene requires balance, the proper adjustment will make people feel comfortable, but cannot overshadow partner. Tavia Yeung admitted that group scene is difficult. It requires you to remember when to add a line or two. Great concentration is needed.

Want Tavia Yeung to get award most

Heart of Greed took a lot of awards in last year's anniversary. Moses Chan became double-winning TV king. Lee Sze Kei also became TV queen. This time Moonlight Resonance which has the same casts as its predecessor is long seen to be a series with a lot of awards. Moses Chan has never thought of hitting the jackpot, he said: "I have never thought that I would have the chance again. I have also got two awards last year. This year my performance is only okay, nothing special so not much hope. On the other hand, I hope Tavia Yeung will get an award. The audiences know that she is steady. I support her this year will definitely get an award!"

In reality, Tavia Yeung's acting has received great praises this time. Other than gaining praises from the veterans Lee Sze Kei, Susanna Kwan, Ha Yu and Lee Heung Kam etc, Tavia Yeung is also predicted by the netizens to win an award. Tavia Yeung said: "I have to thank Moses for his support. I know that award is a motivation to strive forward, I also want to have a good result card this year, but whether or not I will get an award is not that important, because I'm not the best."

Andy: "Blindly persevering is rigidity"

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Andy Lau is the ambassador for CYMA Swiss watches for South-east Asia countries. For this season's advertisement, Andy wore a loose fitting purplish gray cotton sweater with T-shirt and khaki pants, sitting on a black leather sofa, enjoying his music. Putting heart to every details in work is what Andy expected of himself, this has always been his perseverance.

To many people, requirement and rigidity are like twins, it hard to draw a line between them. But Andy thinks that a slight off-balance of requirement and rigidity could lead to great problems. He says: "Blindly persevering is also a kind of rigidity, because nothing is perfect in this world." He recall himself as a singer, he says: "Many people will built their foundation of singing on techniques, when I first start singing till now, I also kept persevering on this, hope to gain the acceptance of audience. But after more than 10 years, I discover that I could not fulfill their requirements, then I feel like changing, I wanted to use my own feelings to move them. Today, I didn't blindly persevering on my singing techniques, but they accepted me. Because what the audiences wanted is a performance that they can acknowledge. Therefore, I feel that choosing the right thing then can be considered as perseverance, if not that is called rigidity."

Andy also added: "Every people will face different kinds of situation in their life, it's the same for experience, with different character, experience and feelings of the person, they will have different type of acceptance. Take the example of a cup half filled with water, some will be sad that they have a half filled glass of water, some would be happy that that they have a half filled glass of water, it's that simple."

Michelle Lee has no wedding plans

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Michelle attended the "Enlightened-Swarovski Elements" show yesterday and reporters asked her whether she will be wearing her own designed jewelries when she gets married (There have been numerous reports about Michelle Lee and 許晉亨 tying the knot at the end of the year.) Michelle replied "I haven't been thinking about getting married since I was little. If I do get married, I will marry the one I like. I am not worried about anything else." (Have you found the person you like yet?) At the moment, apart from Hung Hung (許晉亨), there isn't another person that I like." Reporters asked her if she would announce her marriage in public, she said she would not deny it, but will not announce it in public. "Unlike Kelly, I will not publicly announce my wedding. There are so many people involved, I feel like a criminal." When asked if she was planing to get married at the end of the year, Michelle asked the reporter to leave her alone.

Erica Yuen Attacks TVB Executives and Tracey Ip

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Erica Yuen who often creates steam was at it again. This time she revealed that in the past TVB locked her in a room and forced her to sign a 3 year contract. She also said that her enemy Tracey Ip was pretending to be sweet when actually she was a total different person off camera. She also talked about how some of the females who were speculated of being taken care of by wealthy men would influence the public and this would affect how they see other female artists. She personally was mistaken in the past and said loudly she was not a prostitute. It looks like Erica's statements will yet again create a scolding war.

Yesterday Erica accepted RTHK's programme hosted by Joey Leung. She was asked why she often criticised others in the public and didn't take a step back? She said boldly and confidently "I do not need to polish other people's shoes. When I competed in Miss Hong Kong I wanted to become famous. My work style and freedom of speech will certainly affect my career. Previously a movie company and clients have stepped back because of the way I expressed my speech. There were also several Digital Service Broadcast Platforms that could not tolerate me either, such as TVB." (Have you left TVB now?) "There contracts are very harsh, A (Zero) monthly salary contract and they could freeze you at any time. When they sign you up it doesn't mean they will cherish you." (If you were a member of TVB's Management, what would you do?) "First of all I will not work with certain business operations. Will not use overbearing ways and will not be so narrow minded that you are not allowed to return to TVB from ATV. I will not shut you out like how Lawrence Ng was treated for filming an ATV series. Actually many ideas were originally created by ATV first, but due to insufficient resources they gave them to TVB instead".

Management forced me to sign a contract

Erica also stated that she left TVB due to being very unhappy "TVB has many artists, Virginia Lok really likes Vivien Yeo and has for many years but you still don't see her rise. If she wasn't favored how would she be now? Actually theres something that hasn't been revealed. In 2007 I had some friction with TVB. I was locked in a room and forced to sign a 3 year contract, they said each year they will add $100 for shows. In the room there were 3 TVB executives forcing me to sign the contract. I asked to let my family and lawyer to read the contents of the contract but they said to me they were not allowed to photocopy the contract and it was not to be taken from the room. They harshly said [You must immediately sign it now], they were threatening me, I don't need that type of management".

Also Joey Leung added that he had also signed an contract exactly the same and was also in a room. Every year they will add $100 for shows but he only had one TVB executive with him. He personally felt quite happy signing it. Erica continued "I asked my family and lawyer as it's basic respect. I have tried suing TVB but afterwards someone told me that the laywer fees will be very expensive and I should not. TVB eventually let me off. Personally I will not tolerate anything that's extremely unfair. Even if I don't eat your bowl of rice I will not die, just change industries."

Tracey Ip Fixed

Erica and Tracey Ip were from the same year of Miss Hong Kong. In the end Tracey was crowned the title. During that time there were people saying it was fixed. Erica said "There were some traces, We competed in August but during June there were already people inside the company saying that Tracey had potential. I felt it was very strange. The Top 3 all had problems with languages, were not fluent in English or Mandarin." (Didn't Tracey come back from England?) "Try and talk to her in English. The company stopped me hosting the show "E-Buzz" back then because I wrote an article in my blog about Amigo Tsui and Vinci Wong. A TVB executive stopped my work and when I requested to have a meeting a general manager turned it around and said the programme was changed. That TVB executive never took responsibilty." (Which artist in the entertainment industry is most pleasing?) "Artistes I would say Linda Chung. I am most afraid of some artistes who immediately text SMS or play the PSP after the Camera is Cut. Back then a host who felt very favored, still didn't enter the studio when the show was about to air in 5 minutes".

Erica described Tracy as someone who rarely revealed her true colors to other girls. "She would be very sweet and pretend to be naive. Any gossip she would pretend she didn't hear it. But when she was talking to me she would say she heard everything." (Did Tracey previously betray you?) "These type of news reports of artistes that seem like they have some wealthy men supporting them. I do wonder how it influences the public in seeing other female artistes. I don't want people to think I am a prostitute, previously I have been seen like that so thats why I am angry. So many years, the people who have been speculated of having rich men supporting them have not dared to show off so much. I do not know how to tell people I have lost to someone like that, those who are Miss Hong Kong and represent Hong Kong must have a base line. They can not be {greedy greedy greedy} and take it out and spend it. It's too over the top."

Hacken Lee's maid fires him instead for her carelessness

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Hacken Lee yelled out to the paparazzi's yesterday evening "Changes in the family". It was in fact not about him and his wife Emily Lo having marriage problems, but because one of his maids was careless and dropped his son Ryan on the ground. His eye area immediatley appeared bruised and made Hacken very concerned and worried.

But what made Hacken most angry was that before he had time to scold the maid, she immediately turned it around and fired him instead. Hacken said "Before I fired her, she fired me. I didn't get to scold her but she already said "I want to resign", afterwards I immediately asked her to leave. If she was working for one more week, who knows if we will have steamed chicken to eat? He felt the same experience as another student in his school days when they also fired their maid. But personally he felt more worse because he was fired instead.

Hacken stated without the maid he took care of his son with his wife for the last 2 nights. Not only did he not have the chance to watch his favorite English football match but he also couldn't sleep. He even had to cancel recordings, but fortunatley the company didn't complain.

Louise doesn't want to compete

Friday, September 19, 2008 Posted by Admin 0 comments
Louise Lee was rehearsing for a charity play 留住百味情 the other night. She hasn't been feeling well lately because she has fluid retention but she is taking chinese medication. There have been rumors that Louise and Michelle Yim are competing for the title of "TV Queen". Due to the changes this year, there will only be 10 nominees. As a result, Tavia could only be nominated for the best supporting role. The changes were confirmed by Catherine Tsang, TVB honorary director.

Louise praised Tavia for her acting skills. She doesn't want to compete with young artists, she told reporters that she wanted to let the young ones to take the title. Someone told Louise that young actresses have plenty of time to compete for the title and that she shouldn't feel that she has to let her chance slip away because of that. Louise reckoned she had already got the award last year and may not get it again.

Kam Jei has many grandchildren

Posted by Admin 0 comments
(琴姐) Lee Heung Kam's popularity has been escalated since "Moonlight Resonance." She could not believe her luck that the day she walked back to TVB that she would of landed that role which brought some of her fame back. Kam Jei was worried that she could not cope with her new role because of her age which causes her to work harder. She now sleeps less and works hard with her script; she doesn't want to be a burden to the other cast.

Kam Jei (琴姐) revealed "When I go out in the street, everybody calls me 'Grandma'. I now have many grandchildren. (Would you like to be the TV Queen?) Never thought about it. I am not in the leading role; I am only the wall paper, a giant green leaf. I think that title should go to the younger actresses as an encouragement. (Who do you think deserves to be Queen?) Everyone does, it is very difficult to decide. I love being part of the cast of "Moonlight resonance". We get on very well together."

Maggie & Chen Ling-Li are not enemies after all

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Chen Ling-Li has not been seen in the public eye since the announcement of her divorce with Andrew Lam.

Yesterday she appeared as a guest for 2% Autumn/Winter Fashion Show. Her rumored enemy, Maggie Siu, who was said to have been involved with Mr.Lee (the boss), was there as well. However, enemy or not, there was no tension between the two. They took pictures together both said that Mr. Lee was their friend as well as a mahjong mate.

Chan Ling-Li said "I had a good break. There have been a lot of rumors and I didn't want to appear in public. Now it seems like things have died down a bit. (Did your son ask you about the divorce?) He was very mature about it and knows that we have been separated for a while. Now Andrew sees his son at least once a week. We have dinner together just like a family. This is a modern world. If we can't be husband and wife, we can still be friends. We are like brothers and sisters. (Is he paying you for maintenance?) Sure, but I am not a money grabber."

Leon is not worried about ticket sales

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Leon Lai is organizing a 3 day charity concert called "Magic Live concert" in Star Hall with Janice (衛蘭) and Michael Wong in November. Ticket sales only started last week; it was reported in a magazine that the ticket sales were very bad.

Speaking to reporters about the rumor, Leo responded "Why are you reporters so eager to know about the ticket sales? It has only been a week since we started selling the tickets. We should wait for another few more weeks. This event is for charity, can't you people look at it from a charity point of view? Did you think this is an Olympic game ticket sales, which gets sold out in the first 3 hours? I am not happy because somebody told me someone from East Asia Record has been spreading this rumor." Leon is pointing his finger at Ivana Wong's company.

Ron Ng says Charmaine Sheh and Kevin Cheng look compatible

Posted by Admin 0 comments
New TVB series "The Four" held a promotion event yesterday. The cast accepted fitness tests and Ron Ng performed the best. Even when Halina Tam and Lee Mei Wei sat on his body he was still able to do push ups. Later on he piggy backed Dominic Lam Ka Wah while running on the treadmill.

Will tease Charmaine about the rumours

Earlier Ron and Charmaine Sheh were rumored together. But recently the male lead suddenly changed to Kevin Cheng which allowed him to withdraw from the rumor. When the reported joked that his girlfriend was stolen from him, Ron immediately said "You cannot say stolen, unless the people who are rumored admit the rumors otherwise it's just a joke. When I read the magazine I just laughed. They couldn't even take pictures of them in the same car or of them coming out of the main door". (Do you feel freedom now?) " Hope so, I hope the magazine will forget and I will be forgotten". (Have you asked Charmaine about it?) "Didn't ask, when I see her I will joke about it and tease about that news report. If it is real I will congratulate her". (Do you think they are compatible?) "Its not for me to say, but as an artist, male and females need to look compatible otherwise how can you act dating scene's when filming together".

Tavia doesn't want to be TV queen

Tavia has done extremely well in "Moonlight Resonance" and the feedback has exceeded her expectations. She may have a chance to fight for the title of best supporting actress this year but she told reporters yesterday "I never thought of fighting for the title. I am happy when I got positive feedback from the audience. I put my bet on the other 3 (Louise Lee, Michelle Yim and Susanna Kwan)."

A magazine reported that Tavia had health problem: her periods were irregular and she kept getting up in the middle of the night to mop the floor. Tavia laughed "I am glad I was the cover girl for the magazine. My health is good; mopping the floor is a very good exercise. It can reduce stress too."

Sonija Kwok will deliberately avoid the male artistes when filming a new series

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Sonija Kwok, Sheila Chan and Belinda Hamnett were invited to attend a makeup product function yesterday. Sonija revealed that she spent the Mid Autumn festival with her mother because she hasn't got a boyfriend yet. But when she does she will definitely announce it. Asked whether she had any pursuers? She expressed that she didn't. The reporter then asked if she was the type that would pursue the guy first? She said that she wouldn't because of past experiences. In the past she thought she didn't need to avoid these things but actually it was necessary. Therefore she has had no rumors this year. She said that she would not become too close with the male actors when filming a new series. She will deliberatley avoid them and claimed she had more female friends. (Will your ideal partner need to buy you a property?) She said that personally she wasn't that type of person. As long as they treated her well that would be enough.

Recently Charmaine Sheh and Kevin Cheng were rumored together. Sonjia said that if it was real it was not such a bad thing. She personally didn't know whether the rumors were real or fake. If they are really in love then she will certainly be very happy for them. Sonjia just arrived back in Hong Kong from Korea. Recently she had been taking singing lessons hoping to be prepared if the company arrange for her to sing.

Anne Heung working in Shanghai

Anne Heung is currently working in Vincent Lo Hong-Sui's Shanghai Company. Most of the time she is in Shanghai and doesn't feel lonely since she has many friends working there. Asked whether she had pursuers? She smiled and said she didn't and it was the same in Hong Kong. But the TV series she filmed in the past was currently being aired in Shanghai, that's why many people recognised her. She said "While working many people said that I resembled an certain actress."

Miriam Reveals her New Habit of Running

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Few years ago, Miriam fell sick during her concert period and had seven days of steroid injection which resulted in sequelae of often having a swollen face. Miriam underwent a year of Chinese medical treatment and though there have been improvements to her condition, the result is still not ideal. Until last year when she held a concert again, she hoped to have a great body like Madonna during her show and got to know some friends who run marathons. Miriam started a healthy exercise, that is to run an hour every day.

She admitted, "At first it's really difficult. Luckily just before the concert, costumes measurements will not have too much changes, I had to weigh myself everyday and will be scolded once I'm heavier. This created a chance for me to overcome the difficulty. As you know, I have really never been like some stars who are really slim when performing on stage. The fashion designer also told me the reason for being slim is not only for wearing less clothes, but also to look better when wearing tight clothes. Later on it's because running can really help me reduce weight and swelling of face due to the sequelae of steroids injection and therefore
I gradually fell in love with running."

Running has also become Miriam's habit. She'll spend time running no matter how much work she has. Other than reducing weight, she can relieve work stress by running. Running has let her become more energetic as well. She revealed that she'll run in the marathon for "UNICEF" in October, "I used to be on the stage as prize giving guest during marathon events. This year there should be an exchange in roles."

Everyone will have a dream they hope to fulfill, or even more than one dream. Miriam is like everyone else, hoping to take a cruise to tour Europe and to have a adventurous journey in North Pole. But due to her busy work, these dreams will have to wait till she retires in order to fulfill.

Miriam has liked movies like "Poseidon" and "Titanic", and hence developed interest in touring on cruise. She has been hoping to save money and experience the joy of taking cruise. But today, though she has earned the money, it's impossible for her to take 20 days of leave from her company. "I like to do things that I've never tried before. I really would like to take the cruise to Italy's Venice to appreciate it's charm, as well as experiencing the life and culture in Eastern Europe."

Another place that Miriam hopes to tour is North Pole. She knows this dream is harder to achieve as the weather there is ever-changing and is challenging human's limits. "I can see huge ice floes there and see I can spot polar bears and Northern Lights. These all rare chances in life. But to realize this dream, I really have to wait till I retire, haha! I wonder if global warming will make all ice to melt in North Pole!"

Traveling is one of Miriam's favorite pastime. To travel to places with lesser Chinese can let her put down her identity as a celebrity and play freely, relieve all stress deep in the heart, be relaxed and be able accept and face future challenges.

To have a dream tour, most people will like to take on with a love partner, but Miriam's the opposite. "If going to North Pole, it'll be a difficult trip and of course shouldn't be just 2 people going. Will have to get a big group so that other than taking care of each other, more people can share and try different food. It'll probably turn dark before 5pm over there, so with more people we can play Mahjong at night to kill time!"

80's TVB actress Yammie Nam has frequently entered the mental hospital due to being mentally unstable. This month she repeatedly entered the hospital for treatment. But the reason why she had developed this mental illness was still not confirmed. Yammie's good friend singer Yang Man Li accepted an interview with "Nanfang Daily" to promote her album. She discussed in detail Yammie's current condition and her past. She also analysed the reason behind her illness. She mentioned that Yammie was raped by a Hong Kong entertainment triad boss in the past, perhaps due to the unfortunate encounter that's why it caused Yammie to become mentally unstable.

The most hated men in her life

From the report in "Nanfang Daily" Yang Man Li personally felt that Yammie's mental illness was caused by her unfortunate past experiences. She revealed that Yammie repeatedly mentioned to her she had a few men in her life she really hated. Including the Hong Kong Entertainment Triad Boss. Yang says "He was Hong Kong entertainment's triad boss, a very powerful person. Yammie said, during that time she was in Singapore filming and was raped by him. Afterwards, that person carried on sneering at her. She still remembers the way he sneered."

Not yet confirmed by Yammie herself

Also, after Yammie developed a mental illness she was often rumored having a lawyer supporting her. Yang said "Yammie said to me, he gave her money and then went around saying he was supporting her." The lawyer announced that he did not want to have Yammie as a girlfriend, rather just wanted to have publicity. Yang said "Yammie overheard him on the phone once saying this woman is old and ugly. Even if she climbs on to my bed I will not want her. That's why Yammie hates this lawyer." Yammie has not personally confirmed the claims made by Yang due to contact problems.

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Recently Kevin Cheng and Charmaine Sheh has been rumored, yesterday there was a report saying that Charmaine won Kevin, Kevin then abandons Niki Chow. Some Netizens called Kevin a cold hearted person. Yesterday Kevin was in Kowloon filming a scene of a car explosion for new series "Burning Flames III", towards the comments on calling him cold hearted, he did not respond. He only said that currently he is not dating anyone.

Full heart focused on Work

Yesterday Kevin Cheng, Myolie Wu and Bosco Wong was filming a car explosion scene on first street in Kowloon, the scene spoke about Kevin and Myolie experiencing a traffic accident and their car flipped and explosed. Kevin had to save Myolie from inside of the car. Because the weather was hot, Kevin only had on a shirt and his head was still sweating a lot, Myolie was also very hot that she had a fan to blow herself. Asked Kevin how did he spend his Mid-Autumn Festival the previous night? He expressed that he had to work at 5am, he had dinner with his family last night and then went to sleep. Reporters said that he hasn't had time for a reunion for two, Kevin immediately said: "Don't talk about rumors, I already responded earlier and that's it." He admits that he did look at the report, but did not have a response. He hopes that everyone could respect the artistes and that it is only work, afterwards Reporters asked again about being cold hearted to Niki and if he contacted Niki about the issue, He said: "I don't want to talk about rumors." Asked if his mood has been affected by the rumors? Kevin said that he's only focusing on his work. Is his love life happy?" Kevin said quickly: "I already said I'm not dating! Nope, I am only not replying to the questions about rumors."

Speaking of each year's TVB Anniversary awards, Kevin said that he has not thought about it, right now it's only September. But he feels that the series "Moonlight Resonances" has good chances, the cast members of the series have high chances of winning. Will he also think that the rumors with Charmaine would affect his chances in the awards? He said: "I never thought about it, things that happens in the far future, I will not think about. I only know that right now I have to work hard in filming." Reporters said that TVB really care about their artistes images, he said: "I feel that they look at the performance more, as a public figure, perhaps many people wants to know about artistes other happenings, but just do you're own work. Other things are just topics that are outside of our business.

Flowery mouth, very happy

Also, Myolie Wu expressed yesterday that the scene was a surprise to her. When the car flipped she was on the side, she laughs: "I already ate all his..." Myolie said that the weather is hot, causing her to be a bit dizzy. Asked if she is worred about Kevin's relationship problems? Myolie said that she has heard of the reports, but believes that they are only rumors. She said that Kevin's work attitude is normal, sometimes he's also has a very flowery mouth, very happy working with him. She also doesn't feel that Kevin's being sweet (as if he's dating). As for Mid-Autumn Festival that has just passed, she and Bosco Wong has just finished a show as a couple, reporters laughed at them and said that they are earning money and having a two people reunion at the same time, Myolie smiled: "Okay la." Also Bosco Wong responds to Kevin's rumors, smiled: "Rumors make our eyes hurt, a joke, nothing to talk about, being an artiste we are already adapted to them, we will face them with relaxation."

Lam Fung buys multi-million dollar mansion

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Yesterday Fung held an album promotion function at The Sun Arcade where he sang his new songs. When he saw fans standing in the sun supporting him, he also walked towards the sunny area to sweat with the fans. Almost 100 fans were holding banners supporting him, and some fans even gave him a big sunflower fan as a gift. There were reports that “Moonlight Resonance” achieved good ratings, Fung, Moses Chan and Ha Yu all fighting to be TV King, Fung said, “It’s not the anniversary time yet, it’s too early to say. MR is very popular but this year many senior actors also released their series, Gallen Lo and Bobby Au Yeung also have a great chance of winning.”

Favouring Tavia Yeung to win TV Queen award

Is Fung confident that he will win? Fung said, “Hoping to be in the top 5 and hope to win, actually the series is good so I’ve already won. There had been many direct benefits, as I had taken on many jobs.”

Speaking of rumours which say MR will sweep the TVB awards, Fung said, “Don’t judge it so quickly. When a series is in the spotlight, how the actors have portrayed themselves is subjective.” When asked who does he think will win “TV Queen”, he said, “LSK, Michelle and Lee Heung Kam have all displayed their skills, but I should also support Tavia who was in the same year’s acting class with me. The response had been very good, her acting has been very solid, in the past I’ve had the best chemistry while working with her.”

Achieved good returns after 10 years

Reports have said because of MR, Tavia had earned enough to buy a home and a car. Fung also revealed he will use an eight figure sum to buy a home. He said, “I can probably buy a home next year. If I have time I would like to look at some houses, after working hard for 10 years.” What type of home will you buy? He said, “Somewhere a person can live in, doesn’t need to be too big, need to buy a property with good value in the middle to top price range. It’s a long term purchase and not an investment. I’ve saved for a deposit, and I’m confident in my future work.” Will he live with his family when buying a new home? He said, “I’m living with my family now, but my family are always not in HK. I practically live there by myself.”

Fung captures fans’ hearts, fighting to be first

Posted by Admin 0 comments
On the night of the 14th September, Fung, Hins Cheung and a group of singers attended a promotion function. When the host invited fans to go onto the stage to pick a singer to be their team member to play games, the fans all stuck to Fung and Hins. The other singers were neglected, which was quite embarrassing.

Fung, Hins, Juno Mak, Vincent Wong, Chrissie Chau and HotCha all attended a promotion function for the animated movie “Storm Riders Clash of Evils”. During the function, each group of fans all reserved a good spot to support their idol. The host also invited 8 fans to go on stage to play some games, letting them pick a singer to be their team partner. All 8 fans rushed to Fung and Hins’ side, while the other singers just stood there. In the end the host had to allocate the fans to each singer.

Speaking of the dubbing process of the movie, Fung who plays Bo Keng Wan (Cloud) said, “My character has to scream all the time. So during the recording I had to drink lots of water, so I had to go to the toilet all the time.” Fung expressed that he always read the “Storm Riders” comics when he was young, plus he had not filmed a movie in many years. If the director films a real life version of “Storm Riders”, he will not hesitate and be the first one to volunteer.

Popular autograph signing/singing function

Hins, who provides the voice for Lit Fung (Wind) reveals that his character will turn into a demon. So he had to scream very loud. After dubbing for 8 hours his voice became coarse, luckily it didn’t affect his voice. Hins also said, “Cantonese is hard to pronounce, causing me to be tongue tied. Plus I have some ‘lazy sounds’, need to correct this habit.”

Additionally, Fung held an album promotion function at TST yesterday and attracted over 100 fans. Even though Fung sweat a lot from the sun shining brightly, but he signed for every fan. He also sang and took photos, being very professional.

Fiona doesn't want to be an old mom

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Fiona Sit is the children's ambassador for "Arthritis Care". Yesterday, she attended a fund raising event and is hoping for the government's funding to build a "Children Rheumatism Integrated Treatment Centre."

Fiona loves children; she wanted to have her own, but is afraid of the responsibilities involved. Asked if her rumored boyfriend Jaysee likes children, she said she doesn't know because she never asked him. Although, Fiona has seen him play with children while he was filming; at least the children didn't bother him that much.

Fiona told reporters that she and her future husband would have a check up before they get married. She doesn't want to bear any children after the age of 35 because she doesn't want to be an old mother; there would be a lot of risks to the baby as well as mother. Fiona also reckoned that if there were too many risks involved...she may find it difficult to communicate with her children.

Juno has contact with Ah Gill

Posted by Admin 0 comments
Juno Mak attended the promotion for the martial arts comic style of animation "Situation Must" the other night. After the event, he rushed back home to have dinner with his family. He said he hasn't seen his mother for more than 2 weeks. Asked how long he hasn't seen Ah Gill (Gillian Chung), Juno replied "I have regular contact with her. I don't count how many days since I last saw her." Reporters made a remark that he has seen Ah Gill more than he has seen his mother. Juno laughed with embarrassment "I don't know if Ah Gill is in Sichuan, I only know that she is not in Hong Kong."

Juno spent over 10 hours to dub for the animation; this was his first attempt. He had reportedly earned a 6 figure sum. Juno disclosed "If I have to dub "聶風" or "步驚雲", I would have to refuse because there would be a lot of pressure on me. Juno acted as a bad guy in "Situation Must" and this type of role was new to him. "Dubbing is difficult, I have lost my voice so many times."

There was a rumor that Faye had a miscarriage and lost her baby. It was reported that because she had two previous cesarean section births, her womb is a bit weak, leading to her miscarriage last month (she was three months pregnant then.) Faye was seen in HK last week when she came here to see an obstetrician for a check up.

Another rumor was that her period was late but her manager Chan Ka Ying got over excited and assumed that Faye was pregnant. Due to that she told people Faye was pregnant.

Yesterday, Faye's manager Chan Ka Ying told reporters "the whole thing was a misunderstanding. I heard it wrong. Faye is not having a baby." Chan Ka Ying refused to clarify if Faye lost her baby or if she was pregnant to begin with.

Tavia Yeung is up to the challenge

Tuesday, September 16, 2008 Posted by Admin 0 comments
Tavia Yeung Yi does not shy away from danger to deliver her best on screen.

Manoeuvring a boat rocked by underwater explosions or jumping off a building while fighting suspended on wires is all in a day’s work for Hong Kong actress Tavia Yeung Yi. While stunts like these may be dangerous, none of them caused as much damage as a pair of high heeled shoes.

Long periods of filming all day sashaying around on dainty stilettos when she was filming modern series had put tremendous strain on her spine. The demure actress suffered from an inflammation in the lower back leading to an irregular curvature in her spine.

“The doctor’s advice to me was to stop all activity and take a long break to recuperate. But to stop work totally means no income for me, so I just have to be more careful in the action scenes.”

Her latest TV series has her playing salt trader Dau Sing Suet in Sweetness in the Salt (Sing Suet Yim Jaan, 2008). “There are many action scenes as there is a lot of fighting involved. I enjoy them but I’m also worried that I might hurt my back and aggravate the old injury.”

Yeung also sings the series’ theme song with her co-star Steven Ma Chun Wai, who plays the male lead, Nip Ji Yuen.

The lovely actress vividly recalled some of her most dangerous stunts in Twin of Brothers (Dai Tong Seung Lung Juen, 2004), which was filmed in China during winter.

“It was freezing that night and I was dressed very lightly for temperatures that were likely below zero. It was quite terrifying to be floating about in the waters when the underwater explosion violently rocked the boat.”

Another dangerous stunt saw her running and jumping off a building suspended from a wire, then landing on her feet and unsheathing her sword, all in one single take. “That was extremely difficult to do. I had to do more than a dozen takes.”

With her popularity on the rise, Yeung has been invited to Malaysia many times this year. She has been named the new face of ~H20+ (a sea-derived skincare product) in Malaysia and was in Kuala Lumpur to promote the award-winning series Heart of Greed (Tong Sam Fung Bo, 2007) as well as Moonlight Resonance (Ga Ho Yuet Yuen, 2008), sometimes referred to as Heart of Greed 2 because it features the same cast but tells a different story altogether.

Although she wishes for some villainous roles, she disclosed that the management of ~H2O+ was very glad that she has yet to play a truly wicked character. “I believe I could give a fresh interpretation, the result could be truly out of the ordinary.”

The closest she has gotten to portraying a bad character is model Cheung Man Lai in Heart of Greed, where she turns to smoking and drinking for stress relief and even has an extra-marital affair.

She does not smoke in real life, yet her convincing portrayal of a saucy smoking and drinking character won her new fans. The actress was surprised by the positive response although she is worried that the smoking and drinking would have a negative influence on children.

The actress says that her favourite role to date is Tam Chu Mei, otherwise known as sexy Mimi, in Dicey Business (Dou Cheung Fung Wan, 2006) where she had to wear a padded bra to portray a busty girl. She suggested to the director to give Mimi a speech impediment to make the character more adorable.

It was hailed as her breakthrough role by her steadily increasing number of fans. Where previously she played the innocent girl-next-door types, this role saw her delivering an overtly sexy character for the first time.

Yeung, who recently turned 29, has featured in 45 TV series. Last year, four of the series starring Yeung made it to TVB’s five top-rated dramas. They were Dicey Business, Heart of Greed, On the First Beat and Fathers and Sons.

She was named Actress with the Most Potential at TVS Awards 2006, Next Magazine’s WHY Best Fashion Style Award 2007 and Best Actress in a Drama at Sina’s 10th Macau/Hong Kong Entertainment Awards 2007, among others.

“I enjoy costumed roles but on the other hand modern ones are very relaxed and easygoing. The clothes are simple, and there is no need for heavy costumes. We film in air-conditioned surroundings. It’s all very comfortable, and there isn’t much pressure."

“For costumed roles, the headgear alone is usually very heavy and most times the costumes are quite heavy too. However, I get to experience many different time periods. I’m not very good at history so this gives me the opportunity to learn more. Moreover, I get to dress up in beautiful costumes and have my hair done up nicely.”

Yeung professes to enjoy eating but still manages to remain shapely. “I enjoy most foods, in particular snacks, though I don’t eat candy or chocolate. So, I don’t really find it a chore to lose weight."

She prefers to do things the natural way. “For exercise, I like to jog and play badminton. I also try to eat more fruits and less oily food to keep trim. It may take some effort but it is the healthiest and most lasting way to remain fit.”

Catch Tavia Yeung in Moonlight Resonance which airs on Astro on Demand on weekdays at 9.30pm.

Fan's of Tavia Yeung get excited at event and pull on her sleeves

Posted by Admin 0 comments
The cast from "Moonlight Resonance" Tavia Yeung, Moses Chan, Kate Tsui and Chris Lai attended the "Mid Autumn Festival Night" event yesterday evening. They attracted over 500 people that crowded 3 floors of the shopping mall. In order to get a good view of the 4 artistes, there were some conflicts between a few of the audience members but fortunately the police were present and managed to stop it. But it seemed while one incident was resolved another occured. While Moses and Tavia were on stage playing games, a female from the audience suddenly rushed on to the stage. The staff managed to get her off the stage by giving her gifts. Fortunatley nothing bad happened. When the event was about to end, the 4 of them went off stage to shake hands with the audience and handed out gifts. This made the audience go crazy and caused some chaos .

Afterwards, Tavia said "Just now someone was pulling on half of my jacket sleeve." (Were you afraid someone may touch your chest?) "No, I was singing and shaking hands at the same time. My hand was holding the microphone, so I wasn't worried that someone would touch my chest. The audience are very warm." (Are you competing with Bernice?) "No, we just want to earn more money. If I wear high heels that are a few more inches higher, then I will be compatiable with him."

Moses also expressed that he didn't mind who he paired up with. "Whatever job it is I don't mind, I tell myself that it's just part of work. Most important is that the audience are comfortable with it."

Since the series aired, Kate has also gained from it and earned 6 figures. She says "This time many people have been focusing on my role." (The role is very evil have you been told scold?) "No, that's why it's not that successful".

Ah Gill’s comeback will depend on fans’ support, no solid plans yet

Posted by Admin 0 comments
After a week of volunteer work in Si Chuan, Gillian Chung, Charlene Choi, Yumiko, and Don Li returned to Hong Kong yesterday afternoon. Ah Gill and Ah Sa reunited as Twins and performed 《但願人長久》、《月亮代表我的心》, 《明天會更好》, 《朋友》, and other old classics for the local villagers. They decided not to sing any of their own songs because they wanted the villagers to be more comfortable with songs that everyone would be familiar with. This way, it would be easier for the villagers to sing a long and have an even better atmosphere.

Rumored that she will have new songs for a comeback next year

Yesterday, there was an online report that said Ah Gill disclosed: “If launching new songs means a comeback, it should mean that there will be a comeback into the music industry next spring.” By that time, there will be something happening for Twins. However, EEG came out to clarify that Ah Gill still does not have a set date for a comeback and that there are no solid plans yet. This time, Ah Gill is purely just doing some volunteer work; there aren’t any thoughts that this volunteerism is a step in paving her road back. Yesterday, Twins and everyone returned to Hong Kong, Ah Gill expresses that she believes that volunteering is very meaningful and joyous. When asked if she has any plans to return to work, she says: “I’ll have to see what the company arranges for me.” When asked whether her small screen time on “Mei Lanfang” would be cut, she didn’t answer.

Producer Ng Yu expressed that the Mid-Autumn celebration was very meaningful and that Ah Gill has poured her heart into the event. Regarding when Ah Gill would make a comeback, Ng Yu says: “There’s no time schedule, but I think it would be soon seeing that the media and her fans are giving so much support. As long as there’s fans’ support, her return would be even faster.”

Twins perform, earthquake victims enjoy

This Si Chuan trip was headed by EEG CEO Ng Yu, but everyone is attending “EEG’s Leigu Heart-to-Heart with Love Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration” as volunteers. The night before, there were no lights, no special backgrounds, only singing and applause to spread their love for the villagers to enjoy. The villagers were so enthusiastic towards Twins’ performance that Ah Sa and Ah Gill wanted to jump down the stage and dance with the villagers. However, because the villagers were too enthusiasm, they were pushed to the side of the stage. To prevent any uncontrollable behavior, they could only remain on the stage to continue to sing.
