Charles Szeto, 29, a former Hong Kong swimmer representative and currently a TVB artist is suspected of being cheated by scammers in one of Macau's casinos and owing a large amount of debt. Due to not paying back the debts his cafe was daubed with red paint and he reported it to the police. Charles made a public apology announcement and he was still in shock about being scammed.

After the incident happened Charles did not appear in public or respond. But after TVB and the Police's encouragement he accepted an interview with TVB's "Entertainment Scoop" programme. Host Lai Chi Saan revealed that Charles mood was still unstable. While accepting the interview he appeared nervous, shaking while talking. He constantly said he was very stupid and regrets it.

Charles revealed on the 29th of November he went to Macau with Joel Chan, Teresa Capio, Vanessa Yeung etc to watch Kenny Bee's concert. He stayed at a hotel for one night and due to not being able to sleep he went to out to explore the casinos. As he only knew how to play blackjack he only played that. But he lost and became the scammers target. The 3 men behind him persuaded him to play Baccarat instead. At first Charles didn't take any notice of them but in the end he couldn't help but listen to them. He followed them to play Baccarat.

The three men persuaded Charles by saying that Baccarat is fun and that he would not lose much as they could help him out. In the end the 3 men actually helped him win. When Charles wanted to leave the 3 men said due to helping him out he should help them too. They needed him to go to another casino with them so that it was fair. Therefore Charles followed them to another casino.

When they arrived at another casino the 3 men had already prepared the chips for him and played Baccarat for over 10 hours. He lost HK$100,000 worth of Casino chips and Charles was also very tired. Many times he lost the ability to make decisions and couldn't reject because he didn't know how to play. He was only responsible for revealing the cards. Afterwards the men asked Charles to sign a loan agreement for HK$300,000. They even said "It says alot but you don't need to pay back that much." When Charles returned to Hong Kong he realised he was scammed and owed HK$800,000. He regrets this very much.

Afterwards Charles was constantly disturbed and he paid back HK$170,000 but was told he didn't have enough Sincerity. Charles told his family and TVB about the incident. He finally decided to seek help from the police. Also his cafe and home property was daubed with red paint. He said he regretted this very much and admitted he made a mistake "I am very sorry for the incident as it has affected my family, friends and TVB. No matter what the company does to punish me I will be happy to accept. I will work harder and I would like to advise to everyone that you should tell your family, friends and work if you have any problems so that everyone can face it together. Don't do anything stupid to escape from your problems."
