Sammul Chan Would Rather Earn Money Than Being "Own Son"
Friday, October 31, 2008
Yesterday, Sammul Chan, Bernice Liu, Kay Tse, and Stephen Chan attended the opening function for TVB's new travel series "Vanishing Glaciers". It was mentioned that when Sammul first found out that he did not receive any award nominations for TVB's 41st Anniversary Awards Ceremony, he was surprised, but comforted himself, thinking that maybe just he hasn't reached the companies expectations yet.Nominations should not have limitations
As a new rule this year, there is a maximum of 10 nominees per award category. Sammul expressed that the audience cast votes, and their views will be revealed once votes are totaled. He believes that those who did a good job should be nominated, and there shouldn't be limitations to the number of nominees per category. As of now, Sammul still hasn't become TVB's "own son". He has no intention to make any changes to the way in which they cooperate, because he has his own manager. He can also have many other opportunities for job offers outside of TVB. When asked if he'd prefers money over an award, Sammul said: Awards are for encouragement, and it's not only TVB who has awards. As for the TVB management, they expressed that their awards are very fair.
When mentioned of Sammul's views on TVB anniversary awards, Stephen Chan expressed that Sammul hasn't filmed many series this year, so his chances for nominations are lower. He hopes that Sammul will continue to work hard for next year.
