Ever since Miriam joined East Asia organization, she felt as if she's a student in a school, facing with 2 teachers. She describes Lin Jianyue as a director who keeps an open attitude towards students, and Leon Lai is a traditional principal who is strict but protects students. Under their supervision, she is not as willful as she used to be.

Having joined the company for 2 years, Miriam laughs away at the rumours of her bad terms with the boss.

2 Bosses

Miriam has left Paco Wong's Gold Label and went over to Lin Jianyue's Rich and Famous for 2 years. Her singing career is under Leon Lai's record company Amusic. In the 2 years of cooperation, there had been rumours of them having different opinions in production and their relationship has been bad. For example Leon Lai's 2 concert shows in November had invited Janice, Jill and Michael Huang as guest except for Miriam.

Leon is strict, Lin is relaxed

Miriam said, "I really have nothing against Mr Lai. It's only during the 1st album, we had different opinions in the creativity areas. Both parties need some time to adjust. But when doing the 2nd album, the communication was quite good. I will try my best to respect his suggestions. Therefore the process of producing the 2nd album has been much smoother. I don't understand why people kept saying we are on bad terms."

These 2 years Miriam has to adjust to 2 bosses with different characters, unlike last time handling only Paco Wong alone that simple. Is it hard for her? Miriam said, "It feels like I've entered a school. Leon is the traditional kind of principal, very protective towards his students and yet has strict requirements, doesn't want students to have any chances of making mistakes. Mr Lun is more like an international school's director, having an open-minded attitude towards students. Even he knows students will make mistakes or they won't listen, he will still let you try and learn your own lesson, then slowly talk things out to you."

Miriam didn't forget to defend her bosses, "Actually both principal and director have their own ways of teaching, hard to say which is better, but I've worked with them and know they are helping the students to be good, so I will respect them."

There were rumours that Miriam and Leon Lai are not on good terms because they couldn't share same understanding at early stages of cooperation.

\New boss Lin Jianyue has an open attitude towards Miriam, very different from Leon.

"Mr Lai really help a lot in the production work of my album. He will give opinions from choosing songs to album cover. There's a song I couldn't reach his requirements no matter how I sing. I couldn't remember how many times I have to re-sing it. Working with him can never be careless."

Miriam who is now more matured, expressed she loves herself the most right now.

In Miriam's whole of relationship, Ronald Cheng has become past tense. Real Ting is the present tense, even though many people is not positive about it. Recently her name is still often linked with Real Ting and there was even rumours of marriage.

Does Miriam really see him as ideal marriage partner? "I'm good friends with Real Ting. Don't exaggerate things. I still have contract with Rich and Famous. Now my priority is work, and hasn't thought about marriage."

"A few years ago I really had the urge to get married, and like a teddy girl, sitting on a bike with someone I like, riding along the cliff as we get married, so romantic! Now as I grew older, I'm not so willful. And this moment the person I love most is myself, I will think carefully before doing anything."

Used to be open about their relationship and holding hands with Ronald Cheng when singing. Today's Miriam leaves it to fate.

The Willful flower learns to treasure

These 2 years, Miriam is really not willful like she used to be. When she was in Gold Label and met unhappy times, she would suddenly buy a first-class airtic and fly to London to meet a friend for dinner, scaring her manager to death. MIriam said, "Now pounds is expensive, I fly to London lesser! You think willfulness doesn't need to spend money? I'm older, have to be thrifty! Actually being in this line for so many years, I won't be so careless."

Miriam's change, has got a lot to do with the accident during June when her van was smashed by a big tree. She said, "I escaped death, and got many inspirations. Life is short. 2 months later, a female U-grad wasn't as lucky and was killed by a falling tree! After seeing this news, my heart felt uncomfortable. A lot of things are unexpected. Humans are very insignificant. We all should treasure people around us more!"

Miriam's van was smashed by fallen tree, taught her to treasure people around her.

Getting older, no longer persistent

Miriam reminds people not to live life with regrets. Recently she released a new album with a song called "See You Tomorrow". When recording this song, Miriam had a lot of feelings, she said, "This song's meaning is saying you can't chase things back after you missed it. Hence we shouldn't be too persistent and don't let ourselves regret."

"I remember last year when I sang 'A Girl's Prayer' during concert, although singing had improved, I couldn't get back the teenage girl's feel like I used to, then I was very depressed. Young people should treasure this kind of pure emotion. But I find nowadays a lot of people have too much in their thoughts, and won't express their emotions directly, too suppressed! Remember don't lock up yourselves."

Miriam had been to Real Ting's house for steamboat. She claims they are only good friends.

PROSPECTS
Development in China

For the coming year, Miriam will focus on China market. Other than cooperating with Zhang Guoli in drama "Ji Xiao Lan 4", she plans to release Mandarin album. Miriam said, "Actually since beginning of this year, company has already helped me planned developments in China market but because of the Beijing Olympics, many things couldn't carry out. Although the progress is slow, I have confidence in my company, and will wait for their arrangements!"

"I will go Beijing to learn martial arts during end of the year, because in the drama I'm good in martial arts, so have to prepare before shooting. When there's time I hope to find teacher to improve my Mandarin."

Facing Leon's strictness, Miriam is appreciative and will be more careful.

No fate to work with Ethan Ruan due to schedule clash.

Other than China drama, some said Taiwan's TV station wanted to get Miriam and Ethan Ruan to cooperate but the management company rejected the offer due to her schedule. Miriam replied, "Is it? Company only told me a TV station invited me to shoot a drama but the schedule didn't work out. I don't even know who is my opponent. I know who is Ethan Ruan. A lot of friends watched 'Fated to Love You', so I know this show is very popular and he is very famous is Taiwan now. If there's a chance in the future, I hope to work with him!"

Miriam and Zhang Guoli played father and daughter in China drama "Wu Shi Lang" and will be working again in "Ji Xiao Lan 4".
