Ah Gill’s comeback will depend on fans’ support, no solid plans yet
Tuesday, September 16, 2008
After a week of volunteer work in Si Chuan, Gillian Chung, Charlene Choi, Yumiko, and Don Li returned to Hong Kong yesterday afternoon. Ah Gill and Ah Sa reunited as Twins and performed 《但願人長久》、《月亮代表我的心》, 《明天會更好》, 《朋友》, and other old classics for the local villagers. They decided not to sing any of their own songs because they wanted the villagers to be more comfortable with songs that everyone would be familiar with. This way, it would be easier for the villagers to sing a long and have an even better atmosphere.
Rumored that she will have new songs for a comeback next yearYesterday, there was an online report that said Ah Gill disclosed: “If launching new songs means a comeback, it should mean that there will be a comeback into the music industry next spring.” By that time, there will be something happening for Twins. However, EEG came out to clarify that Ah Gill still does not have a set date for a comeback and that there are no solid plans yet. This time, Ah Gill is purely just doing some volunteer work; there aren’t any thoughts that this volunteerism is a step in paving her road back. Yesterday, Twins and everyone returned to Hong Kong, Ah Gill expresses that she believes that volunteering is very meaningful and joyous. When asked if she has any plans to return to work, she says: “I’ll have to see what the company arranges for me.” When asked whether her small screen time on “Mei Lanfang” would be cut, she didn’t answer.
Producer Ng Yu expressed that the Mid-Autumn celebration was very meaningful and that Ah Gill has poured her heart into the event. Regarding when Ah Gill would make a comeback, Ng Yu says: “There’s no time schedule, but I think it would be soon seeing that the media and her fans are giving so much support. As long as there’s fans’ support, her return would be even faster.”
Twins perform, earthquake victims enjoyThis Si Chuan trip was headed by EEG CEO Ng Yu, but everyone is attending “EEG’s Leigu Heart-to-Heart with Love Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration” as volunteers. The night before, there were no lights, no special backgrounds, only singing and applause to spread their love for the villagers to enjoy. The villagers were so enthusiastic towards Twins’ performance that Ah Sa and Ah Gill wanted to jump down the stage and dance with the villagers. However, because the villagers were too enthusiasm, they were pushed to the side of the stage. To prevent any uncontrollable behavior, they could only remain on the stage to continue to sing.
