Monday, August 25, 2008
The Beijing Olympics 2008 Closing ceremony was held yesterday evening. Joey Yung and Nicholas Tse had the opportunity to perform again at the closing ceremony. Both of them went to Beijing for 5 days. Although they only appeared for 6 minutes on screen they felt it was worth every minute since they performed for 40 million people. Joey took the opportunity to take pictures with Zhang Yimou and Joey also saw superstar soccer player David Beckham face to face while the cars they were parading in passed each other.
The Olympics closing ceremony was held at the Bird's nest. Some of the performers had already performed for the Olympics opening show such as Jackie Chan, Andy Lau, Joey Yung, Nicholas Tse, Karen Mok, Emil Chow. Although their live performance for the Opening ceremony was not broadcasted across the globe, they were re-invited to perform in the Closing ceremony. This time, they were arranged to perform straight after London's special performance and it was successfully shown worldwide.
Joey happily states "I am very happy, I think the Beijing Olympics has been very successful. I am very happy that China have received the most gold medals." (Were you nervous?) "It was okay, I have the experience from the Opening ceremony so this time I wasn't that nervous. When I was parading in the car I saw David Beckham in the car next to me. I instantly waved at him, he not only waved back but smiled at me. But unfortunately I didn't get the chance to take photos with him. " But during rehearsals, Joey took the opportunity to take pictures with Zhang Yimou. Therefore she felt the whole trip was perfect.
Kelly Chen is overly happyAlso Kelly Chen, Korean singer Rain, Wang Leehom and mainland singers had the opportunity to sing "Beijing, Beijing, I Love Beijing" on stage together after the Olympic flame had been extinguished. Kelly who wore a pink Tubetop had the chance to dance beside Rain. She says "I was very nervous, There were 40 million people worldwide watching us. It's the first time I have experienced so many people watching me perform and I felt honoured." Kelly also took pictures with Zhang Yimou while she was rehearsing and said he was very nice man.
